FeN -co-doped TiO2 photocatalysts are prepared by sol–gel method using titanium tetraisopropoxide, urea and iron(II) acetylacetonate as precursors of titania, nitrogen and iron, respectively. The prepared samples are analysed from chemical-physical point of view by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–Vis DRS), specific surface area measurements and scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). UV–Vis DRS spectra evidence that the co-doping of TiO2 with N and Fe leads to the narrowing of the band gap value (2.7 eV) with respect to Fe-doped TiO2 (2.8 eV) and N-doped TiO2 (2.9–3 eV). XRD patterns show that photocatalysts are mainly in anatase phase and Fe and N ions are successfully incorporated into the TiO2 lattice. The average crystallite size of Fe-N co-doped TiO2 is slightly lower than the other samples and equal to about 7 nm and the specific surface area of the co-doped sample results to be 117 m2 g−1. Photocatalytic performances of all prepared samples are evaluated by analysing the degradation of Acid Orange 7 azo dye under visible light irradiation. Photocatalytic efficiency obtained using FeN co-doped TiO2 strongly increases compared to undoped TiO2, N-doped TiO2 and Fe-doped TiO2 photocatalysts. In detail, using the co-doped photocatalyst, dye discoloration and mineralization result equal to about 90 and 83% after 60 min of LEDs visible light irradiation, underlining the best performances of the FeN co-doped TiO2 photocatalyst both in terms of treatment time and electric energy consumption.  相似文献

Nitrogen-modified cobalt-doped TiO2 materials were successfully prepared via a modified sol–gel method. The structure and properties of the catalysts were characterized via X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution TEM, ultraviolet–visible light diffuse reflectance spectra (UV–Vis DRS), N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The XRD patterns of the pure and co-doped TiO2 samples indicate that the predominant phase was anatase. The average grain size obtained from TEM was approximately 10 nm. The Brunauer–Emmett–Teller analysis results indicate that the specific surface area was 77.7 m2 g?1. The UV–Vis DRS results for the co-doped sample reveal an absorption edge that had been red-shifted to 500 nm. The photocatalytic activities of the samples were evaluated through photodegradation of papermaking wastewater under UV and visible light irradiation. Compared with the cobalt-doped TiO2 sample and Degussa P25, the 3 mol% N-doped mesoporous N/Co-TiO2 photocatalyst exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity, which can be ascribed to the synergistic effect of the N and Co co-doping.  相似文献

TiO2 photocatalysts tri-doped with N, F and Fe were synthesized by a sol–gel method. The cooperation of N, F and Fe in tri-doped TiO2 was verified by monitoring NH3 decomposition, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) absorption spectroscopy, and by the simulation based on the density functional theory (DFT). The results from NH3 decomposition revealed that the cooperation of N, F and Fe broadened the optical response of TiO2 to the visible light range and also enhanced the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 under UV light. The reusability of the tri-doped TiO2 sample after three cycles under UV and visible light irradiation was very good. XRD patterns and SEM and HRTEM images indicated that the tri-doped sample was nanometric anatase with a small amount of rutile with an average particle size of 18 nm. Tri-doping with N, F and Fe suppressed the phase transition from anatase to rutile and also resulted in some more lattice defects. XPS analysis showed that the N, F and Fe atoms were doped into the TiO2 lattice. UV–Vis absorption spectra of the tri-doped TiO2 showed that its optical absorption edge was moved up to 640 nm and its UV absorption was also enhanced. The DFT results confirmed that the cooperation of Fe 3d and N 2p orbits narrowed the band gap of TiO2 and the F 2p orbit broadened the upper valence bands. The synergistic electron density around N, F and Fe in tri-doped TiO2 was capable of enhancing the photochemical stability and reusability of TiO2.  相似文献

Mesoporous TiO2 has been synthesized by the sol–gel method, using a nonionic triblock copolymer P123 as surfactant template under acidic conditions. The as-prepared samples were characterized by thermogravimetry–differential thermal analysis (TG–DTA), nitrogen absorption–desorption (BET), field emission scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The photocatalytic activity of the mesoporous TiO2 was evaluated by degradation of methylene blue under high-intensity UV light irradiation; the amount of methylene blue was measured by UV–visible spectroscopy. TG–DTA analysis revealed that the surfactant had been removed partly in as-synthesized samples. BET analysis proved that all the samples retained mesoporosity with a narrow pore-size distribution (4.5–6.3 nm) and high surface area (103–200 m2/g). All calcined mesoporous TiO2 had high photocatalytic activity in the photodegradation of methylene blue.  相似文献

A series of B, Ce co-doped TiO2 (B, Ce-TiO2) photocatalytic materials with a hollow fiber structure were successfully prepared by template method using boric acid, ammonium ceric nitrate and tetrabutyltitanate as precursors and cotton fibers as template, followed by calcination at 500°C in an N2 atmosphere for 2 h. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements, and UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) were employed to characterize the morphology, crystal structure, surface structure, and optical absorption properties of the samples. The photocatalytic performance of the samples was studied by photodegradation phenol in water under UV light irradiation. The results showed that the TiO2 fiber materials have hollow structures, and the fiber structure materials showed better photocatalytic properties for the degradation of phenol than pure TiO2 under UV light. In the experiment condition, the photocatalytic activity of B, Ce co-doped TiO2 fibers was optimal of all the prepared samples. In addition, the possibility of cyclic usage of B, Ce co-doped TiO2 fiber photocatalyst was also confirmed, the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 fibers remained above 90% of that of the fresh sample after being used four times. The material was easily removed by centrifugal separation from the medium. It can therefore be potentially applied for the treatment of water contaminated by organic pollutants.  相似文献

Europium and nitrogen co-doped TiO2 was successfully synthesized by the precipitation–peptization method. The structure and properties of the catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectra. The photocatalytic efficiency was evaluated by monitoring the photocatalytic degradation of salicylic acid under visible light irradiation. It was verified that TiO2 co-doped with nitrogen and 1% europium showed the highest photocatalytic activity. The adsorption isotherms were obtained by measuring the salicylic acid concentration before and after the dark adsorption at different original solution concentrations. The results illustrated that the doping of Eu was beneficial to the adsorption of salicylic acid. The probable degradation mechanism of salicylic acid was examined by the addition of NaF, Na2S2O3, and K2S2O8 as the probe molecules. It was verified that salicylic acid was first adsorbed on the surface of the catalysts, followed by the degradation by the photogenerated holes (h vb + ).

TiO2 nanopowders doped by Si and Zr were prepared by sol–gel method. The effects of Si and Zr doping on the structural, optical, and photo-catalytic properties of titania nanopowders have been studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy. XRD results suggest that adding impurities has a significant effect on anatase phase stability, crystallinity, and particle size of TiO2. Titania rutile phase formation in ternary system (Ti–Si–Zr) was inhibited by Zr4+ and Si4+ co-doped TiO2 in high temperatures (500–900 °C) and 36 mol% anatase composition is retained even after calcination at 1,000 °C. The photocatalyst activity was evaluated by photocatalytic degradation kinetics of aqueous methylen orange under visible radiation. The results show that the photocatalytic activity of the 20 %Si and 15 %Zr co-doped TiO2 nanopowders have a larger degradation efficiency than pure TiO2 under visible light.  相似文献

In this study, preparation of Sn and Nb co-doped TiO2 dip-coated thin films on glazed porcelain substrates via sol–gel process have been investigated. The effects of co-doping content on the structural, optical, and photo-catalytic properties of applied thin films have been studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission SEM (FE-SEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), and UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy. Surface chemical state of thin films was examined by atomic X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). XRD results suggest that adding impurities has a great effect on the crystallinity and particle size of TiO2. Titania Rutile phase formation in thin film was promoted by Sn4+ addition but was inhibited by Nb5+ doping. The prepared co-doped TiO2 photo-catalyst films showed optical absorption edge in the visible light area and exhibited excellent photo-catalytic ability for degradation of methylene blue (MB) solution under solar irradiation. Comparison with undoped and Sn or Nb-doped TiO2, codoped TiO2 shows an obviously higher catalytic activity under solar irradiation.  相似文献

By a hydrothermal method, iron and nitrogen co-doped TiO2 and iron oxide impregnated nitrogen-doped TiO2 were prepared. The obtained Fe and N co-doped TiO2 showed mixed anatase, rutile, and brookite phases, and high specific surface areas above 160 m2/g. The Fe co-doping was proved to be effective to enhance the visible light absorption ability; however, the photocatalytic activity in deNO x experiment decreased due to the increase in the amount of lattice vacancy. On the other hand, the photocatalytic activity of N-doped TiO2 was improved by the impregnation of iron oxide.  相似文献

A series of photocatalysts of un-doped, single-doped and co-doped nanometer titanium diox-ide (TiO2) have been successfully prepared by template method using Fe(NO3)3·9H2O, La(NO3)3·6H2O, and tetrabutyl titanate as precursors and glucan as template. Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and N2 adsorption-desorption measurement were em-ployed to characterize the morphology, crystal structure and surface structure of the samples. The photo-absorbance of the obtained catalysts was measured by UV-Vis absorption spec-troscopy, and the photocatalytic activities of the prepared samples under UV and visible light were estimated by measuring the degradation rate of methyl orange in an aqueous solu-tion. The characterizations indicated that the prepared photocatalysts consisted of anatase phase and possessed high surface area of ca. 163-176 m2/g. It was shown that the Fe and La co-doped nano-TiO2 could be activated by visible light and could thus be used as an effective catalyst in photo-oxidation reactions. The synergistic effect of Fe and La co-doping played an important role in improving the photocatalytic activity. In addition, the possibil-ity of cyclic usage of co-doped nano-TiO2 was also confirmed, the photocatalytic activity of codoped nano-TiO2 remained above 89.6% of the fresh sample after being used four times.  相似文献

The present study explores a new method of synthesis of TiO2 nano-particles in an aqueous medium from TiCl3 precursor by non-thermal plasma in humid air as feeding gas obtained at atmospheric pressure. The precursor solution, TiCl3 is oxidized by strongly reactive species generated by gliding arc plasma (HO· = 2.85 V/SHE) to produce titanium oxide powders. The synthesized powder was characterised by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, nitrogen physisorption, and UV–Vis spectroscopy. The results obtained showed that the material consists of rod-shaped nanoparticles of rutile and anatase phases. The presence of TiO2 phases was confirmed by FTIR spectrum and textural analyses showed that the material is mesoporous with specific surface area of 158 m2 g?1. UV–Visible spectrum of the plasma-synthesized TiO2 sample showed that it absorbs in the UV–A region leading to effective use as a photocatalyst under visible light.  相似文献

In this study, we successfully prepared pure, mono-doped, and Ag, Mg co-doped TiO2 nanoparticles using the sol–gel method, with titanium tetraisopropoxide as the Ti source. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), specific surface area and porosity (BET and BJH) measurement, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, photoluminescence, and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy techniques. The XRD data showed that the prepared nanoparticles had the same crystals structures as the pure TiO2. Also, DRS results indicated that the band gap of co-doped photocatalyst was smaller than that of the monometallic and undoped TiO2 and that there was a shift in the absorption band towards the visible light region. Furthermore, the photocatalytic activity of the prepared catalysts was evaluated by the degradation of C.I. Acid Red 27 in aqueous solution under visible light irradiation. The results showed that Ag (0.08 mol%), Mg (0.2 mol%) co-doped TiO2 had the highest photoactivity among all samples under visible light. It was concluded that co-doping of the Ag and Mg can significantly improve the photocatalytic activity of the prepared photocatalysts, due to the efficient inhibition of the recombination of photogenerated electron–hole pairs. The optimum calcination temperature and time were 450 °C and 3 h, respectively.  相似文献

TiO2 microspheres were synthesized by the sol–gel method using the ionic liquid (IL) 1-vinyl-3-propylimidazolium iodide (VPIM+I?) as a reaction medium, then calcined at 500 °C. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The phase of TiO2 microspheres is anatase, and VPIM+I? is able to favor the growth of anatase phase and prevents the collapse of small pores. The photocatalytic activity of TiO2-IL was tested by degradation of 2-nitrophenol under UV light illumination. The photocatalytic activity of TiO2-IL was higher than that of samples prepared in the reaction medium without VPIM+I?.  相似文献

In this work, Sn and Nb co-doped TiO2 were coated on glazed porcelain substrates via sol–gel dip coating method. Field emission-scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and UV–vis spectrophotometer were used to evaluate thickness and optical properties of the thin films. Surface chemical state of thin films was examined by atomic X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Water contact angle on the film surfaces was measured by a contact angle analyzer under solar light irradiation. The optical results indicated that Sn/Nb dopant in TiO2 thin film changed the absorption edge from ultraviolet to visible light and exhibited excellent photo-catalytic ability for degradation of methylene blue solution under solar irradiation. Wettability results indicated that Sn and Nb dopant ions had significant effect on the hydrophilicity property of thin films.  相似文献

Using composite surfactant templates, polyoxyethylene (20) oleyl ether (Brij98) and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), as structure-directing agents, N and La co-doped mesoporous TiO2 complex photocatalysts were synthesized successfully. The micromorphology of co-doped mesoporous TiO2 samples was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS) and N2 adsorption-desorption measurements. The results indicated that the complex photocatalyst prepared with a molar ratio of Brij98:CTAB=1:1 showed a uniform pore size of ca. 7 nm and a high specific surface area (SBET) of 279.0 m2 g−1, and exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity for degradation of papermaking wastewater under ultra-violet light irradiation. The chemical oxygen demand (CODcr) percent degradation was about 73% in 12 h and chroma percent degradation was 100% in 8 h.  相似文献

W–S–N-tri-doped TiO2 photocatalysts (WSNTiO2) were prepared by a simple sol–gel method. Tungstic acid, sodium sulfate and urea were used as tungsten, sulfur and nitrogen sources, respectively. The morphology and microstructure characteristics of the photocatalysts were evidenced by means of XRD, BET, TEM, SEM and UV–vis DRS techniques. The XRD results show that the main crystal phase of samples is anatase. It was also found that the tri-doping of TiO2 increases its BET specific surface area from 95 to 121 m2·g−1. Besides, it was shown that tri-doping narrows the band gap of TiO2 effectively, which has greatly improved the photocatalytic activity in the visible light region. The photocatalytic activity of tri-doped TiO2 powders was compared to that of bi-doped ones through the degradation of Congo Red (CR) under visible irradiation. Thus, the prepared 0.5% W–N–S–TiO2 heat treated at 450 °C showed the best photocatalytic activity compared to the prepared pure TiO2, Degussa P25, and co-doped samples (WNTiO2 and WSTiO2). In particular, a Congo Red degradation rate of approximately 99% was reached after only 35 min of visible light irradiation in the presence of 0.5% of WNSTiO2. Total organic carbon (TOC) removal of CR was up to 72% and confirmed its significant mineralization in the presence of 0.5% of WNSTiO2 photocatalyst.  相似文献

Nanosized cerium and nitrogen co-doped TiO2 (Ce–TiO2?xNx) was synthesized by sol gel method and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), FESEM, Fourier transform infrared, N2 adsorption and desorption methods, photoluminescence and ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) DRS techniques. PXRD analysis shows the dopant decreases the crystallite sizes and slows the crystallization of the titania matrix. XPS confirm the existence of cerium ion in +3 or +4 state, and nitrogen in ?3 state in Ce–TiO2?xNx. The modified surface of TiO2 provides highly active sites for the dyes at the periphery of the Ce–O–Ti interface and also inhibits Ce particles from sintering. UV–visible DRS studies show that the metal–metal charge transfer (MMCT) of Ti/Ce assembly (Ti4+/Ce3+ → Ti3+/Ce4+) is responsible for the visible light photocatalytic activity. Photoluminescence was used to determine the effect of cerium ion on the electron–hole pair separation between the two interfaces Ce–TiO2?xNx and Ce2O3. This separation increases with the increase of cerium and nitrogen ion concentrations of doped samples. The degradation kinetics of methylene blue and methyl violet dyes in the presence of sol gel TiO2, Ce–TiO2?xNx and commercial Degussa P25 was determined. The higher visible light activity of Ce–TiO2?xNx was due to the participation of MMCT and interfacial charge transfer mechanism.  相似文献

Bare TiO2 and Cu-doped TiO2 nanoparticles with different nominal doping amounts of Cu ranging from of 0.5 to 5.0 mol% were synthesized using the modified sol–gel method. The samples were physically characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller-specific surface area, UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, zeta potential, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma, and photoluminescence techniques. The Cu-doped TiO2 exhibited good photocatalytic activity in mineralization of oxalic acid and formic acid under visible light irradiation. Photomineralization of oxalic and formic acids under visible light irradiation revealed greatly enhanced photoactivity exhibited by the 2.0 mol% Cu-doped TiO2 photocatalyst compared to bare TiO2 . The enhanced photocatalytic performance arises from copper ion doping in the TiO2 structure, leading to an extended photoresponsive range, enhanced photogenerated charge separation, and transportation efficiency.  相似文献
