Two new methods for obtaining exact solutions of the initial-value problem on an unbounded straight line (the Cauchy problem) for the inhomogeneous Burgers equation are considered. They are applied to the cases of a stationary and a transient external force. The method of the active second harmonic suppression in resonators is investigated in this paper both analytically and numerically. The resonator is driven by a piston which vibrates with two frequencies. The first one agrees with an eigenfrequency and the second one is equal to the two times higher eigenfrequency. The phase shift of the second piston motion is 180 deg. It is known that for this case it is possible to describe generation of the higher harmonics by means of the inhomogeneous Burgers equation. This model equation was solved for stationary state analytically by a number of authors but only for ideal fluids. Unlike their solutions, new asymptotic solutions are presented here which take into account dissipative effects. The asymptotic solutions are compared with numerical ones. For study of generation higher harmonics the solutions are developed in a spectral form.  相似文献

In this paper we present a wavelet Galerkin approximation of the one-dimensional Burgers equation using complex harmonic wavelets. We derive exact expressions for the connection coefficients for the linear dissipation and nonlinear advection terms. A large reduction in the number of space-scale nonlinear modes is obtained by exploiting the band-limited spectra and localisation properties of harmonic wavelets. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of implementing harmonic wavelets as opposed to the more standard choice of wavelets basis, highlighting the relevance to shell models of turbulence.  相似文献

We consider the Burgers equation with an external force. For the case of the force periodic in space and time we prove the existence of a solution periodic in space and time which is the limit of a wide class of solutions ast . If the force is the product of a periodic function ofx and white noise in time, we prove the existence of an invariant distribution concentrated on the space of space-periodic functions which is the limit of a wide class of distributions ast .  相似文献

From a two-vortex interaction model in atmospheric and oceanic systems, a nonlocal counterpart with shifted parity and delayed time reversal is derived by a simple AB reduction. To obtain some approximate analytic solutions of this nonlocal system, the multi-scale expansion method is applied to get an AB-Burgers system. Various exact solutions of the AB-Burgers equation, including elliptic periodic waves, kink waves and solitary waves, are obtained and shown graphically.To show the applications of these solutions in describing correlated events, a simple approximate solution for the two-vortex interaction model is given to show two correlated dipole blocking events at two different places. Furthermore, symmetry reduction solutions of the nonlocal AB-Burgers equation are also given by using the standard Lie symmetry method.  相似文献

We investigate the solutions of the Burgers equation , where F(x,t) is an external force and Φ(x,t) represents a forcing term. This equation is first analyzed in the absence of the forcing term by taking F(x,t)=k1(t)−k2(t)x into account. For this case, the solution obtained extends the usual one present in the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process and depending on the choice of k1(t) and k2(t) it can present a stationary state or an anomalous spreading. Afterwards, the forcing terms Φ(x,t)=Φ1(t)+Φ2(t)x and Φ(x,t)=Φ3xΦ4/x3 are incorporated in the previous analysis and exact solutions are obtained for both cases.  相似文献

The(3+1)-dimensional Burgers equation, which describes nonlinear waves in turbulence and the interface dynamics,is considered. Two types of semi-rational solutions, namely, the lump–kink solution and the lump–two kinks solution, are constructed from the quadratic function ansatz. The asymptotic behavior of solutions of the Burgers equation and its generalizations with initial value-boundary problem on a finite interval with constant boundary conditions is studied. Since it describes a dissipative medium, any initial profile will evolve to a time-invariant solution with the same boundary values. Yet there are three distinctive asymptotic processes: the initial profile may regularly decay to a smooth invariant solution; or a Heaviside-type gap develops through a dispersive shock and multi-oscillations; or an asymptotic limit is a stationary ‘sawtooth’ solution with periodical breaks of derivative.  相似文献

We study shock reflection for the two 2D Burgers equation. This model equation is an asymptotic limit of the Euler equations, and retains many of the features of the full equations. A von Neumann type analysis shows that the 2D Burgers equation has detachment, sonic, and Crocco points in complete analogy with gas dynamics. Numerical solutions support the detachment/sonic criterion for transition from regular to Mach reflection. There is also strong numerical evidence that the reflected shock in the 2D Burgers Mach reflection forms a smooth wave near the Mach stem, as proposed by Colella and Henderson in their study of the Euler equations.  相似文献
