In analogy to the classical Schwartz kernel theorem, we show that a large class of linear mappings admits integral kernels in the framework of Colombeau generalized functions. To do this, we introduce new spaces of generalized functions with slow growth and the corresponding adapted linear mappings. We prove a mean-value theorem for lower semicontinuous functions on a large class of Banach spaces which contains the class of Asplund spaces, in particular reflexive Banach spaces and Banach spaces with a separable dual. It involves the lower subdifferential (or contingent subdifferential) and the Fréchet subdifferentials, which are among the smallest subdifferentials known to date. It follows that the estimates which it provides require weak assumptions and are accurate. When the function is locally Lipschitzian, we get a simple statement which refines the Lebourg mean-value theorem. 相似文献

A two-function minimax theorem is proved. In this result, the concavity-convexity conditions of both functions involve monotone transforms and mixing of functional values, and the "w- upwardness/w-downwardness" conditions; both spaces are required to be compact topological spaces but without linear structure. The pseudospectrum has become an important quantity for analyzing stability of nonnormal systems. In this paper, we prove a mapping theorem for pseudospectra, extending an earlier result of Trefethen. Our result consists of two relations that are sharp and contains the spectral mapping theorem as a special case. Necessary and sufficient conditions for these relations to collapse to an equality are demonstrated. The theory is valid for bounded linear operators on Banach spaces. For normal matrices, a special version of the pseudospectral mapping theorem is also shown to be sharp. Some numerical examples illustrate the theory.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of τ-function which generalizes the concept of w-distance studied in the literature. We establish a generalized Ekeland's variational principle in the setting of lower semicontinuous from above and τ-functions. As applications of our Ekeland's variational principle, we derive generalized Caristi's (common) fixed point theorems, a generalized Takahashi's nonconvex minimization theorem, a nonconvex minimax theorem, a nonconvex equilibrium theorem and a generalized flower petal theorem for lower semicontinuous from above functions or lower semicontinuous functions in the complete metric spaces. A new intersection theorem is obtained in L-convex spaces without linear structure. As its applications, a fixed point theorem, a maximal element theorem, a coincidence theorem, some new minimax inequalities and a saddle point theorem are given in L-convex spaces. We develop a version of Herbrand's theorem for continuous logic and use it to prove that definable functions in infinite‐dimensional Hilbert spaces are piecewise approximable by affine functions. We obtain similar results for definable functions in Hilbert spaces expanded by a group of generic unitary operators and Hilbert spaces expanded by a generic subspace. We also show how Herbrand's theorem can be used to characterize definable functions in absolutely ubiquitous structures from classical logic. 相似文献

In this paper we prove the existence of periodic solutions for gradient systems in finite and infinite dimensional spaces. The techniques of the proofs are based on the application of a global inverse functions theorem, the Schäefer fixed point theorem and the Faedou–Galerkin method. In this paper, we derive sufficient conditions for the sum of two or more maximal monotone operators on a reflexive Banach space to be maximal monotone, and we achieve this without any renorming theorems or fixed-point-related concepts. In the course of this, we will develop a generalization of the uniform boundedness theorem for (possibly nonreflexive) Banach spaces. We will apply this to obtain the Fenchel Duality Theorem for the sum of two or more proper, convex lower semicontinuous functions under the appropriate constraint qualifications, and also to obtain additional results on the relation between the effective domains of such functions and the domains of their subdifferentials. The other main tool that we use is a standard minimax theorem.

We present the Komlós theorem for multivalued functions whose values are closed (possibly unbounded) convex subsets of a separable Banach space. Komlós theorem can be seen as a generalization of the SLLN for it deals with a sequence of integrable multivalued functions that do not have to be identically distributed nor independent. The Artstein–Hart SLLN for random sets with values in Euclidean spaces is derived from the main result. Finally, since the main theorem concerns multifunctions whose values are allowed to be unbounded, we can restate it in terms of normal integrands (random lower semicontinuous functions). 相似文献
