Irradiation at 239 ± 20 nm of a p-H(2) matrix containing methoxysulfinyl chloride, CH(3)OS(O)Cl, at 3.2 K with filtered light from a medium-pressure mercury lamp produced infrared (IR) absorption lines at 3028.4 (attributable to ν(1), CH(2) antisymmetric stretching), 2999.5 (ν(2), CH(3) antisymmetric stretching), 2950.4 (ν(3), CH(3) symmetric stretching), 1465.2 (ν(4), CH(2) scissoring), 1452.0 (ν(5), CH(3) deformation), 1417.8 (ν(6), CH(3) umbrella), 1165.2 (ν(7), CH(3) wagging), 1152.1 (ν(8), S=O stretching mixed with CH(3) rocking), 1147.8 (ν(9), S=O stretching mixed with CH(3) wagging), 989.7 (ν(10), C-O stretching), and 714.5 cm(-1) (ν(11), S-O stretching) modes of syn-CH(3)OSO. When CD(3)OS(O)Cl in a p-H(2) matrix was used, lines at 2275.9 (ν(1)), 2251.9 (ν(2)), 2083.3 (ν(3)), 1070.3 (ν(4)), 1056.0 (ν(5)), 1085.5 (ν(6)), 1159.7 (ν(7)), 920.1 (ν(8)), 889.0 (ν(9)), 976.9 (ν(10)), and 688.9 (ν(11)) cm(-1) appeared and are assigned to syn-CD(3)OSO; the mode numbers correspond to those used for syn-CH(3)OSO. The assignments are based on the photolytic behavior and a comparison of observed vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities, and deuterium isotopic shifts with those predicted with the B3P86∕aug-cc-pVTZ method. Our results extend the previously reported four transient IR absorption bands of gaseous syn-CH(3)OSO near 2991, 2956, 1152, and 994 cm(-1) to 11 lines, including those associated with C-O, O-S, and S=O stretching modes. Vibrational wavenumbers of syn-CD(3)OSO are new. These results demonstrate the advantage of a diminished cage effect of solid p-H(2) such that the Cl atom, produced via UV photodissociation of CH(3)OS(O)Cl in situ, might escape from the original cage to yield isolated CH(3)OSO radicals.  相似文献

We report a quantum dynamics study of O + OH (v = 1, j = 0) collisions on its ground electronic state, employing two different potential energy surfaces: the DIMKP surface by Kendrick and Pack, and the XXZLG surface by Xu et al. A time-independent quantum mechanical method based on hyperspherical coordinates has been adopted for the dynamics calculations. Energy-dependent probabilities and rate coefficients are computed for the elastic, inelastic, and reactive channels over the collision energy range E(coll) = 10(-10)-0.35 eV, for J = 0 total angular momentum. Initial state-selected reaction rate coefficients are also calculated from the J = 0 reaction probabilities by applying a J-shifting approximation, for temperatures in the range T = 10(-6)-700 K. Our results show that the dynamics of the collisional process and its outcome are strongly influenced by long-range forces, and chemical reactivity is found to be sensitive to the choice of the potential energy surface. For O + OH (v = 1, j = 0) collisions at low temperatures, vibrational relaxation of OH competes with reactive scattering. Since long-range interactions can facilitate vibrational relaxation processes, we find that the DIMKP potential (which explicitly includes van der Waals dispersion terms) favours vibrational relaxation over chemical reaction at low temperatures. On the DIMKP potential in the ultracold regime, the reaction rate coefficient for O + OH (v = 1, j = 0) is found to be a factor of thirteen lower than that for O + OH (v = 0, j = 0). This significantly high reactivity of OH (v = 0, j = 0), compared to that of OH (v = 1, j = 0), is attributed to enhancement caused by the presence of a HO(2) quasibound state (scattering resonance) with energy near the O + OH (v = 0, j = 0) dissociation threshold. In contrast, the XXZLG potential does not contain explicit van der Waals terms, being just an extrapolation by a nearly constant function at large O-OH distances. Therefore, long-range potential couplings are absent in calculations using the XXZLG surface, which does not induce vibrational relaxation as efficiently as the DIMKP potential. The XXZLG potential leads to a slightly higher reactivity (a factor of 1.4 higher) for O + OH (v = 1, j = 0) compared to that for O + OH (v = 0, j = 0) at ultracold temperatures. Overall, both potential surfaces yield comparable values of reaction rate coefficients at low temperatures for the O + OH (v = 1, j = 0) reaction.  相似文献

The work presented here uses photofragment translational spectroscopy to investigate the primary and secondary dissociation channels of acryloyl chloride (CH2==CHCOCl) excited at 193 nm. Three primary channels were observed. Two C-Cl fission channels occur, one producing fragments with high kinetic recoil energies and the other producing fragments with low translational energies. These channels produced nascent CH2CHCO radicals with internal energies ranging from 23 to 66 kcal/mol for the high-translational-energy channel and from 50 to 68 kcal/mol for the low-translational-energy channel. We found that all nascent CH2CHCO radicals were unstable to CH2CH + CO formation, in agreement with the G3//B3LYP barrier height of 22.4 kcal/mol to within experimental and computational uncertainties. The third primary channel is HCl elimination. All of the nascent CH2CCO coproducts were found to have enough internal energy to dissociate, producing CH2C: + CO, in qualitative agreement with the G3//B3LYP barrier of 39.5 kcal/mol. We derive from the experimental results an upper limit of 23 +/- 3 kcal/mol for the zero-point-corrected barrier to the unimolecular dissociation of the CH2CHCO radical to form CH2CH + CO.  相似文献

Vibrationally hot CH(3) and CF(3) were produced by the 266 nm photodissociation of CH(3)I and CF(3)I, respectively, and probed by single-photon ionization at 118 nm. Comparison of the ion images of the CH(3) and CF(3) fragments with those of the complementary I atoms, and with previous measurements of the product branching fractions, allowed the determination of the relative photoion yields as a function of the vibrational energy of the molecular radical. Some general ideas about the internal-energy dependence of photoionization cross sections are also discussed.  相似文献

Possible decomposition routes for vibrationally excited hydrocarbons are critically considered using a simple “symmetry” based model. It is shown that C---C bond rupture is characterised by a lower activation energy than the molecular cleavage of hydrogen, although the latter reaction is less endothermic. Other possible decomposition reactions of excited species are also considered.  相似文献

Vibrationally excited CF(2)ClCHFC(2)H(5)(CF(2)ClCHFC(2)D(5)) molecules were prepared in the gas phase at 300 K with approximately 93 kcal mol(-1) of energy by recombination of CF(2)ClCHF and C(2)H(5) or C(2)D(5) radicals. Three unimolecular reactions were observed. 1,2-ClF interchange converts CF(2)ClCHFC(2)H(5)(CF(2)ClCHFC(2)D(5)) into CF(3)CHClC(2)H(5)(CF(3)CHClC(2)D(5)), and subsequent 2,3-ClH (ClD) elimination gives CF(3)CH=CHCH(3) (CF(3)CH=CDCD(3)). 2,3-FH(FD) elimination gives cis- and trans-CF(2)ClCH=CHCH(3) (CF(2)ClCH=CDCD(3)), and 1,2-ClH elimination gives CF(2)=CFCH(2)CH(3) (CF(2)=CFCD(2)CD(3)). The experimental rate constants for CF(2)ClCHFC(2)H(5) (CF(2)ClCHFC(2)D(5)) were 1.3 x 10(4) (0.63 x 10(4)) s(-1) for 1,2-FCl interchange and 2.1 x 10(4) (0.61 x 10(4)) s(-1) with a trans/cis ratio of 3.7 for 2,3-FH(FD) elimination. The 1,2-ClH process was the least important with a branching fraction of only 0.08 +/- 0.04. The rate constants for 2,3-ClH (ClD) elimination from CF(3)CHClC(2)H(5) (CF(3)CHClC(2)D(5)) were 1.8 x 10(6) (0.49 x 10(6)) s(-1) with a trans/cis ratio of 2.4. Density functional theory was used to compute vibrational frequencies and structures needed to obtain rate constants from RRKM theory. Matching theoretical and experimental rate constants provides estimates of the threshold energies, E0, for the three reaction pathways; 1,2-FCl interchange has the lowest E0. The unimolecular reactions of CF(2)ClCHFC(2)H(5) are compared to those of CF(2)ClCHFCH(3). Both of these systems are compared to CH(3)CHFC(2)H(5) to illustrate the influence of a CF(2)Cl group on the E0 for FH elimination.  相似文献

Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) has been used to observe H2 from H2CO + hv H2 + CO. Photolysis of K = 1 (ortho) lines of the 2141 S1 ← S0 transition produced no para-H2 (<4% statistical); and demonstrated nuclear spin conservation. H2 states v = 1, 2 and 3 were comparably populated.  相似文献

A step-scan Fourier-transform spectrometer coupled with a multipass absorption cell was employed to detect temporally resolved infrared absorption spectra of CH(3)OSO produced upon irradiation of a flowing gaseous mixture of CH(3)OS(O)Cl in N(2) or CO(2) at 248 nm. Two intense transient features with origins near 1152 and 994 cm(-1) are assigned to syn-CH(3)OSO; the former is attributed to overlapping bands at 1154 ± 3 and 1151 ± 3 cm(-1), assigned to the S=O stretching mixed with CH(3) rocking (ν(8)) and the S=O stretching mixed with CH(3) wagging (ν(9)) modes, respectively, and the latter to the C-O stretching (ν(10)) mode at 994 ± 6 cm(-1). Two weak bands at 2991 ± 6 and 2956 ± 3 cm(-1) are assigned as the CH(3) antisymmetric stretching (ν(2)) and symmetric stretching (ν(3)) modes, respectively. Observed vibrational transition wavenumbers agree satisfactorily with those predicted with quantum-chemical calculations at level B3P86∕aug-cc-pVTZ. Based on rotational parameters predicted at that level, the simulated rotational contours of these bands agree satisfactorily with experimental results. The simulation indicates that the S=O stretching mode of anti-CH(3)OSO near 1164 cm(-1) likely makes a small contribution to the observed band near 1152 cm(-1). A simple kinetic model of self-reaction is employed to account for the decay of CH(3)OSO and yields a second-order rate coefficient k=(4 ± 2)×10(-10) cm(3)molecule(-1)s(-1).  相似文献

The dependence of the rate of the reaction CO+OH-->H+CO2 on the CO-vibrational excitation is treated here theoretically. Both the Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus (RRKM) rate constant kRRKM and a nonstatistical modification knon [W.-C. Chen and R. A. Marcus, J. Chem. Phys. 123, 094307 (2005).] are used in the analysis. The experimentally measured rate constant shows an apparent (large error bars) decrease with increasing CO-vibrational temperature Tv over the range of Tv's studied, 298-1800 K. Both kRRKM(Tv) and knon(Tv) show the same trend over the Tv-range studied, but the knon(Tv) vs Tv plot shows a larger effect. The various trends can be understood in simple terms. The calculated rate constant kv decreases with increasing CO vibrational quantum number v, on going from v=0 to v=1, by factors of 1.5 and 3 in the RRKM and nonstatistical calculations, respectively. It then increases when v is increased further. These results can be regarded as a prediction when v state-selected rate constants become available.  相似文献

Organolithium compounds RLi (R = CH(3), CH(3)CH(2), CH(2)=CH, and HC(triple bond)C) and their corresponding hydrocarbons were fully optimized at the MP2/6-311+G(2df,2pd) level. Single-point energy calculations also were carried out at the CCSD(T) and B3LYP levels with the same triple split-valence basis set. Acidities, electron affinities, and bond dissociation energies are reported, and the following general results were found: (1) Alpha-lithio anions are ground-state triplet molecules. (2) Lithium is an acid-enhancing substituent. (3) Conjugate bases of organolithiums are stable with respect to electron loss and therefore are attractive targets for mass spectrometry investigations. (4) Lithium weakens alpha- and beta-C-H bonds, the latter by approximately 25 kcal mol(-1). Consequently, radical chemistry of lithiated compounds at remote sites is a promising area for exploration.  相似文献

The multiple‐channel reactions OH + CH3SCH3 → products, CF3 + CH3SCH3 → products, and CH3 + CH3SCH3 → products are investigated by direct dynamics method. The optimized geometries, frequencies, and minimum energy path are all obtained at the MP2/6‐31+G(d,p) level, and energetic information is further refined by the MC‐QCISD (single‐point) method. The rate constants for eight reaction channels are calculated by the improved canonical variational transition state theory with small‐curvature tunneling contribution over the temperature range 200–3000 K. The total rate constants are in good agreement with the available experimental data and the three‐parameter expressions k1 = 4.73 × 10?16T1.89 exp(?662.45/T), k2 = 1.02 × 10?32T6.04 exp(933.36/T), k3 = 3.98 × 10?35T6.60 exp(660.58/T) (in unit of cm3 molecule?1 s?1) over the temperature range of 200–3000 K are given. Our calculations indicate that hydrogen abstraction channels are the major channels and the others are minor channels over the whole temperature range. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The rate of the reaction HBr(ν) + I → HI + Br increases by at least a factor of 109 when HBr(ν=0) is excited to HBr(ν 2). The increase is observed when the reacting level is directly excited by sequential laser excitation or when it is populated by collisional excitation. Bromine isotopic enrichment in BrI, the product of a subsequent reaction, was observed after isotopically selective excitation.  相似文献

An accurate experimental and theoretical study of the lowest core excitation of CH(3) and CD(3) methyl radicals is presented. The complex vibrational structure of the lowest band of the x-ray absorption spectrum (XAS) is due to the large variation of the molecular geometry, which is planar in the ground state and pyramidal in the core-excited state. The XAS spectra of the two radicals were recorded at high resolution and assigned by theoretical simulations of the spectra, taking into account the coupling of symmetrical stretching and symmetrical bending (umbrellalike) deformations of the radicals. An excellent agreement between experimental and theoretical spectral profiles allowed us to accurately characterize the vibrational structure of the electronic transition. The similarities, as well as the differences, of the peculiar vibrational progression observed for the two radicals are explained by the strong anharmonicity along the umbrella coordinate and by the isotopic variation, leading to a different probing of the double-well potential energy surface of the core excited state during the nuclear motion.  相似文献

The title reaction is investigated by co-expanding a mixture of Cl2 and CH2D2 into a vacuum chamber and initiating the reaction by photolyzing Cl2 with linearly polarized 355 nm light. Excitation of the first C-H overtone of CH2D2 leads to a preference for hydrogen abstraction over deuterium abstraction by at least a factor of 20, whereas excitation of the first C-D overtone of CH2D2 reverses this preference by at least a factor of 10. Reactions with CH2D2 prepared in a local mode containing two quanta in one C-H oscillator /2000>- or in a local mode containing one quantum each in two C-H oscillators /1100> lead to products with significantly different rotational, vibrational, and angular distributions, although the vibrational energy for each mode is nearly identical. The Cl+CH2D2/2000>- reaction yields methyl radical products primarily in their ground state, whereas the Cl+CH2D2/1100> reaction yields methyl radical products that are C-H stretch excited. The HCl(v=1) rotational distribution from the Cl+CH2D2/2000>- reaction is significantly hotter than the HCl(v=1) rotational distribution from the Cl+CH2D2/1100> reaction, and the HCl(v=1) differential cross-section (DCS) of the Cl+CH2D2/2000>- reaction is more broadly side scattered than the HCl(v=1) DCS of the Cl+CH2D2/1100> reaction. The results can be explained by a simple spectator model and by noting that the /2000>- mode leads to a wider cone of acceptance for the reaction than the /1100> mode. These measurements represent the first example of mode selectivity observed in a differential cross section, and they demonstrate that vibrational excitation can be used to direct the reaction pathway of the Cl+CH2D2 reaction.  相似文献

The reaction between nitric oxide and vibrationally excited ozone was studied in a fast flow reactor by monitoring the visible emission from electronically excited NO21. The antisymmetric mode (ν3) of O3 was excited with a Q-switched 9.6 μm CO2 laser, and a laser-induced signal was detected, with a rise rate constant of (4.0 ± 0.5) × 1011 cm3/mole sec and a decay rate constant of (1.1 ± 0.1) × 1011 cm3/mole sec for an NO-rich mixture. The latter was unaffected by addition of large amounts of He or Ar, indicating that the signal was not a thermal effect. Most of the measurements were made at 350°K; however, the He and Ar dilution results suggest that the enhanced reaction rate is not very sensitive to temperature. In order to explain the observed rise times, it was necessary to postulate an intermediate step prior to the chemical reaction. A model which is consistent with our data has energy transferred from ν3 to ν2 (the bending mode) at a rate of (2.9 ± 0.5) × 1011 cm3/mole sec for NO and a rate of (1.1 ± 0.2) × 1011 cm3/mole sec for He. According to this model, the rate constant for the reaction of NO with O3 (ν2= 1) producing vibrationally excited ground state NO22,
NO + O32 (010) 3 NO22 + O2
is (1.5 ± 0.2) × 1011 cm3/mole sec, and the relative rate for the reaction of O3 (ν2 = 1) and O32 = 0) with NO was estimated to be k3(1)k3(0) ≈ 22.  相似文献
