This paper studies the existence of the higher orders deviation matrices for continuous time Markov chains by the moments for the hitting times. An estimate of the polynomial convergence rates for the transition matrix to the stationary measure is obtained. Finally, the explicit formulas for birth-death processes are presented.  相似文献

In this work we study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions of the linear Klein–Gordon equation in RNRN, N?1N?1. We prove that local energy of solutions to the Cauchy problem decays polynomially. Afterwards, we use the local decay of energy to study exact boundary controllability for the linear Klein–Gordon equation in general bounded domains of RNRN, N?1N?1.  相似文献

This paper deals with the problem of designing multirate-output contrlleers for sampled-dataH -optimal control of linear continuous-time systems. Two formulations of the problem are studied. In the first, the intersample behavior of the disturbance and the controlled output signals is not considered, whereas in the second the continuous-time nature of these signals is taken into account. It is shown that, in both cases and unter appropriate conditions, it is plausible to reduce the repective initial problem to an associated discrete-timeH -optimization problem for which a fictitious static state feedback controller is to be designed. This fact has a beneficial influence on the theoretical and numerical complexity of the problem, since only one algebraic Riccati equation is to be solved here, as compared to two algebraic Riccati equations needed in known techniques concerning theH -optimization problem with dynamic measurement feedback.The work described in this paper has been partially funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Greek Ministry of Industry, Research, and Technology and by the Heracles General Cement Company of Greece.  相似文献

A numerical algorithm based on parametric approach is proposed in this paper to solve a class of continuous-time linear fractional max-min programming problems. We shall transform this original problem into a continuous-time non-fractional programming problem, which unfortunately happens to be a continuous-time nonlinear programming problem. In order to tackle this nonlinear problem, we propose the auxiliary problem that will be formulated as a parametric continuous-time linear programming problem. We also introduce a dual problem of this parametric continuous-time linear programming problem in which the weak duality theorem also holds true. We introduce the discrete approximation method to solve the primal and dual pair of parametric continuous-time linear programming problems by using the recurrence method. Finally, we provide two numerical examples to demonstrate the usefulness of this algorithm.  相似文献

For large sparse non-Hermitian positive definite system of linear equations,we present several variants of the Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting(HSS)about the coefficient matrix and establish correspondingly several HSS-based iterative schemes.Theoretical analyses show that these methods are convergent unconditionally to the exact solution of the referred system of linear equations,and they may show advantages on problems that the HSS method is ineffiective.  相似文献

First-passage time problems for continuous-time birth–death chains are considered. Recursive formulas for the moments of the first-exit time and of the first-passage time in terms of the potential coefficients are explicitly obtained. Making use of the probability current, some functional relations between transition probabilities for unrestricted and restricted continuous-time birth–death chains are determined. Finally, two continuous-time birth–death chains with constant rates are taken in account; for them, closed form results on the first-exit time and on the first-passage time are explicitly obtained.

Hierarchical linear regression models for conditional quantiles   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
The quantile regression has several useful features and therefore is gradually developing into a comprehensive approach to the statistical analysis of linear and nonlinear response models, but it cannot deal effectively with the data with a hierarchical structure. In practice, the existence of such data hierarchies is neither accidental nor ignorable, it is a common phenomenon. To ignore this hierarchical data structure risks overlooking the importance of group effects, and may also render many of the traditional statistical analysis techniques used for studying data relationships invalid. On the other hand, the hierarchical models take a hierarchical data structure into account and have also many applications in statistics, ranging from overdispersion to constructing min-max estimators. However, the hierarchical models are virtually the mean regression, therefore, they cannot be used to characterize the entire conditional distribution of a dependent variable given high-dimensional covariates. Furthermore, the estimated coefficient vector (marginal effects) is sensitive to an outlier observation on the dependent variable. In this article, a new approach, which is based on the Gauss-Seidel iteration and taking a full advantage of the quantile regression and hierarchical models, is developed. On the theoretical front, we also consider the asymptotic properties of the new method, obtaining the simple conditions for an n1/2-convergence and an asymptotic normality. We also illustrate the use of the technique with the real educational data which is hierarchical and how the results can be explained.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the problem of maximizing a non‐linear or linear objective function subject to non‐linear and/or linear constraints. The approach used is an adaptive random search with some non‐random searches built‐in. The algorithm begins with a given point which is replaced by another point if the latter satisfies each of the constraints and results in a bigger functional value. The process of moving from one point to a better point is repeated many times. The value of each of the coordinates of the next point is determined by one of several ways; for example, a coordinate is sometimes forced to have the same value as the value of the corresponding coordinate of the current feasible point. In this algorithm, a candidate point receives no further computational considerations as soon as it is found to be unfeasible; this makes the algorithm general. Computer programs illustrating the details of the new algorithm are given and computational results of two numerical test problems from the literature are presented. We generalise the exponential Ax–Schanuel theorem to arbitrary linear differential equations with constant coefficients. Using the analysis of the exponential differential equation by Kirby (The theory of exponential differential equations, 2006, Sel Math 15(3):445–486, 2009) and Crampin (Reducts of differentially closed fields to fields with a relation for exponentiation, 2006) we give a complete axiomatisation of the first order theories of linear differential equations and show that the generalised Ax–Schanuel inequalities are adequate for them.  相似文献

This paper presents a new approach for solving the optimal control problem of linear time-delay systems with a quadratic cost functional. In this approach, a method of successive substitution is employed to convert the original time-delay optimal control problem into a sequence of linear time-invariant ordinary differential equations (ODEs) without delay and advance terms. The obtained optimal control consists of a linear state feedback term and a forward term. The feedback term is determined by solving a matrix Riccati differential equation. The forward term is an infinite sum of adjoint vectors, which can be obtained by solving recursively the above-mentioned sequence of linear non-delay ODEs. A fast-converging iterative algorithm for this purpose is presented which provides a promising possible reduction of computational efforts. Numerical examples demonstrating the efficiency, simplicity and high accuracy of the suggested technique have been included. Simulation results reveal that just a few iterations of the proposed algorithm are required to find an accurate enough feedforward–feedback suboptimal control.  相似文献
