The fluorescence of Cu? in RbBr was investigated in the temperature range 20–300 K, by recording both emission and excitation spectra and by performing accurate lifetime and quantum yield measurements. The de-excitation mechanism has been interpreted in terms of the traditional Pedrini model. Nevertheless, a change of the compression conditions for Cu? at low temperature was observed, which implies two temperature regions (above and below 40 K) for the decay parameters. This occurrence is related not only to off-centre configuration but also to a very low value for the Cu? radius when compared to the Rb? one in RbBr.  相似文献

Analyticity of nucleon form factors allows to derive sum rules which, using space-like and time-like data as input, can give unique information about behaviors in energy regions not experimentally accessible. Taking advantage from new time-like data on proton-antiproton differential cross section and hence the possibility to separate electric and magnetic form factors also in the time-like region, we verify the consistency of the asymptotic behavior predicted by the perturbative QCD for the proton magnetic form factor.  相似文献

Nanotechnology’s effects on labor and employment have received little attention within research and debates on the social implications of nanotechnology. This article shows that, in spite of its incipient development, nanotechnology is unquestionably moving toward manufacturing, involving a still very small but increasing component of the labor force. Based on secondary data and the literature review, I compose a picture of the emerging jobs in nanotechnology and highlight four emerging trends in nanotechnology workers’ skills requirements. I show that, in addition to job creation, nanotechnology diffusion is likely to pose labor market changes that may be disruptive for some categories of workers.  相似文献

We study the polarization observables of J/ψ hadroproduction at next-to-leading order within the factorization formalism of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics. We complete the present knowledge of the relativistic corrections by also providing the contribution due to the intermediate (3)P(J)([8]) color-octet states at this order, which turns out to be quite significant. Exploiting the color-octet long-distance matrix elements previously extracted through a global fit to experimental data of unpolarized J/ψ production, we provide theoretical predictions in the helicity and Collins-Soper frames and compare them with data taken by CDF at Fermilab Tevatron I and II and by ALICE at CERN LHC. The notorious CDF J/ψ polarization anomaly familiar from leading-order analyses persists at the quantum level, while the situation looks promising for the LHC, which is bound to bring final clarification.  相似文献

We re-assess the exclusion limits on the parameters describing the supersymmetric (SUSY) electroweak sector of the MSSM obtained from the search for direct chargino–neutralino production at the LHC. We start from the published limits obtained for simplified models, where for the case of heavy sleptons the relevant branching ratio, $\mathrm {BR}(\tilde{\chi}^{0}_{2} \to \tilde{\chi}^{0}_{1} Z)$ , is set to one. We show how the decay mode $\tilde{\chi}^{0}_{2} \to \tilde{\chi}^{0}_{1} h$ , which cannot be neglected in any realistic model once kinematically allowed, substantially reduces the excluded parameter region. We analyze the dependence of the excluded regions on the phase of the gaugino soft SUSY-breaking mass parameter, M 1, on the mass of the light scalar tau, $m_{{\tilde{\tau}_{1}}}$ , on tanβ as well as on the squark and slepton mass scales. Large reductions in the ranges of parameters excluded can be observed in all scenarios. The branching ratios of charginos and neutralinos are evaluated using a full NLO calculation for the complex MSSM. The size of the effects of the NLO calculation on the exclusion bounds is investigated. We furthermore assess the potential reach of the experimental analyses after collecting 100 fb?1 at the LHC running at 13 TeV.  相似文献

Dilution of the magnetic interactions between Cr3+ ions by Ti3+ ions was observed in the CrS2 layer of the misfit-layer compound ∼LaCrS3. Pure ∼LaCrS3 has complex magnetic properties which are reminiscent of spin glass behavior. This magnetic behavior comes from both the modulated character of the structure and the magnetic frustration of the planar-antiferromagnetic-triangular network of Cr3+ ions. Thus, there is a large hysteresis between the zero field cooled and the field cooled magnetic susceptibility curves below the transition temperature (≈75 K). Formation of a solid solution ∼LaCr1−xTixS3 by the addition of Ti3+ ions results in the decrease of transition temperature up to a doping level of x≈0.5, where the transition is no longer observed. The magnetic behavior of the phase with x≈0.5 is similar to that of several random exchange antiferromagnetic compounds.  相似文献

Jacobson and Sotiriou showed that rotating black holes could be spun up past the extremal limit by the capture of nonspinning test bodies, if one neglects radiative and self-force effects. This would represent a violation of the cosmic censorship conjecture in four-dimensional, asymptotically flat spacetimes. We show that for some of the trajectories giving rise to naked singularities, radiative effects can be neglected. However, for these orbits the conservative self-force is important, and seems to have the right sign to prevent the formation of naked singularities.  相似文献

For a plane gravitational wave whose profile is given, in Brinkmann coordinates, by a \(2\times 2\) symmetric traceless matrix K(U), the matrix Sturm–Liouville equation \(\ddot{P}=KP\) plays a multiple and central rôle: (i) it determines the isometries; (ii) it appears as the key tool for switching from Brinkmann to BJR coordinates and vice versa; (iii) it determines the trajectories of particles initially at rest. We generalize here the splitting approach to the long range (Coulomb) interaction for the three body scattering problem. With this approach, the exterior complex rotation technique can be applied for systems with asymptotic Coulomb interaction. We investigate masses of light mesons from a coupled system of Dyson–Schwinger (DSE) and Bethe– Salpeter equations (BSE),taking into account dominant non-Abelian,sub-leading Abelian,and dominant pion cloud contributions to the dressed quark-gluon vertex.The axial-vector Ward-Takahashi identity preserving Bethe-Salpeter kernel is constructed and the spectrum of light mesons calculated.Our model goes significantly beyond the rainbow-ladder.We find that sub-leading Abelian corrections are further dynamically suppressed,and that our results supersede early qualitative predictions from simple truncation schemes.  相似文献

An extensive and systematic study of the recent η photo-production data up to 1.2 GeV is presented within a chiral constituent quark model. A model embodying all known nucleonic resonances shows clear need for a yet undiscovered third S11 resonance in the second resonance region, for which we determine the mass (1.729 GeV) and the total width (183 MeV). Furthermore, we extract the configuration mixing angles, an important property of the quark-quark interaction in the quark model, for the resonances S 11(1535) and S 11(1650), as well as for the resonances D 13(1520) and D 13(1700). Our results agree well with the quark model predictions. In addition, the partial ηN decay widths and/or the photo-excitation helicity amplitudes for the nucleonic resonances S 11(1535), S 11(1650), P 11(1710), P 13(1720), D 13(1520), D 13(1700), D 15(1675), and F 15(1680) are also obtained in this approach. The optical absorption of the Fr?hlich polaron model is obtained by an approximation-free diagrammatic Monte Carlo method and compared with two new approximate approaches that treat lattice relaxation effects in different ways. We show that: (i) a strong coupling expansion, based on the Franck-Condon principle, well describes the optical conductivity for large coupling strengths (alpha > 10); (ii) a memory function formalism with phonon broadened levels reproduces the optical response for weak coupling strengths (alpha < 6) taking the dynamic lattice relaxation into account. In the coupling regime 6 < alpha < 10, the optical conductivity is a rapidly changing superposition of both Franck-Condon and dynamic contributions.  相似文献
