The thermal properties of the Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes of iminodiacetic acid (H2IMDA) were determined using TG, DTG and DSC techniques. The complexes, of general formula, MIMDA-2H2O evolved water of hydration from 50 to 150°C which was followed by the decomposition of the anhydrous complex in the 250 to 400°C temperature range. The thermal stability, as determined by procedural decomposition temperatures, was: Ni(II) >Co(II) >Cu(II). The thermal stability is discussed in terms of IR spectra, ΔH, and ΔS, as well as thermal data.  相似文献

The 12- and 14-membered diazadioxo macrocyclic ligands, 1,2?:?7,8-diphenyl-6,9-diaza-3,12-dioxocyclododecane (L1) and 1,2?:?8,9-diphenyl-7,10-diaza-3,14-dioxocyclotetradecane (L2), were synthesized by condensation between o-phenylenediamine, 1,2-dibromoethane/1,3-dibromopropane, and catechol. Metal complexes [ML1Cl2] and [ML2Cl2] [M?=?Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)] were prepared by interaction of L1 or L2 with metal(II) chlorides. The ligands and their complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H, and 13C NMR, EPR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity measurements, and Electrospray ionization-mass spectral (ESI-MS) studies. The results of elemental analyses, ESI-MS, Job's method, and conductivity measurements confirmed the stoichiometry of ligands and their complexes while absorption bands and resonance peaks in IR and NMR spectra confirmed the formation of ligand framework around the metal ions. Stereochemistry was inferred from the UV-Vis, EPR, and magnetic moment studies.  相似文献

Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, theoretical and antimicrobial studies of Ca(II), Fe(III), Pd(II), and Au(III) complexes of amoxicillin (amox) antibiotic drug are presented in the current paper. Structure of 1: 1 (metal: amox) complexes were elucidated on the basis of elemental analyses, and IR, Raman, 1H NMR, and electronic spectral data. According to molar conductance measurements the complexes had electrolyte nature. Amoxicillin reacted with metal ions as a tridentate ligand coordinated with metal ions via–NH2,–NH, and β-lactam carbonyl groups. The complexes were formulated as [Ca(amox-Na)(H2O)]·Cl2·4H2O (1), [Fe(amox-Na)(H2O)3]·Cl3·3H2O (2), [Pd(amox-Na)(H2O)]·Cl2 (3), and [Au(amox-Na)(H2O)]·Cl3 (4). Kinetic thermodynamic parameters (E*, ΔS*, ΔH*, and ΔG*) were calculated based on the Coats–Redfern and Horowitz–Metzger methods using thermo gravimetric curves of TG and DTG. Nanosize particles of amoxicillin complexes have been studied by XRD, SEM, and TEM methods. Theoretical studies of the synthesized complexes have been performed.  相似文献

Neutral complexes of three phthalhydrazidylazo-1,3-diketones [phthalhydrazidylazo-acetylacetone (H2PAA),-benzoylacetone (H2PBA) and-dibenzoylmethane (H2PDM)] with Cu(II), Ni(II), Pd(II) and Fe(III) have been synthesised and characterized on the basis of their analytical data, magnetic moment, molar conductance and IR and1H NMR spectral data. Dibasic tridentate coordination of the ligands is brought out by the above spectral data. Half-wave potentials and far IR spectral data of the Cu(II) complexes indicate that the H2PAA complex is the most stable. M?ssbauer spectra of the Fe(III) complexes reveal that delocalisation of the metald electrons with the chelate ring decreases with increasing capability of the pendant groups of the ring for cross conjugation.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) chloro complexes of benzilic hydrazide (BH) have been synthesized. Also, reaction of the ligand (BH) with several copper(II) salts, including NO3 ?, AcO?, and SO4 ? afforded metal complexes of the general formula [CuLX(H2O) n nH2O, where X is the anion and n = 0, 1 or 2. The newly synthesized complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectra, molar conductance, UV–vis, IR spectra, magnetic moment, and thermal analysis (TG/DTG). The physico-chemical studies support that the ligand acts as monobasic bidentate towards metal ion through the carbonyl and hydroxyl oxygen atoms. The spectral data revealed that the geometrical structure of the complexes is square planar for Cu (II) complexes and tetrahedral for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes. Structural parameters of the ligand and its complexes have been calculated. The ligand and its metal complexes are screened for their antimicrobial activity. The catalytic activities of the metal chelates have been studied towards the oxidative decolorization of AB25, IC and AB92 dyes using H2O2. The catalytic activity is strongly dependent on the type of the metal ion and the anion of Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

New complexes ML(CNS)·nH2O [M = Ni, n = 0.5; M = Cu, n = 4.5; M = Zn, n = 0.5, HL: 6-mercapto-(1,4,8,11-tetraazaundecanyl)-6-carboxylic acid)] have been synthesised, chemical analysed, and characterised by different spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV–Vis–NIR, 1H NMR, EPR, ESI–MS), and magnetic measurements. Based on the IR spectra a dinuclear structure with the 1,3-CSN coordination was proposed for Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes. The dinuclear structure of Cu(II) complex is also consistent with both magnetic behaviour and EPR spectrum. According to TG, DTG and DTA curves the thermal transformations are complex processes, including dehydration, Mannich base oxidative degradation and thiocyanate decomposition. The final product of decomposition is the most stable metallic oxide, as XRD data indicates. The new complexes were also screened for their microbicidal and antibiofilm properties.  相似文献

Three ferrocenyl Schiff bases containing a phenol moiety have been formed by 1:1 molar condensation of acetylferrocene with 2‐aminophenol, 2‐amino‐5‐picoline or 2‐amino‐5‐chlorophenol. These ligands form 2:1 complexs with cobalt(II), copper(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II) ions. From the different spectral data, it was found that coordination of the ligands with the metal ions takes place via the azomethine nitrogen atoms and the deprotonated oxygen of the phenol groups. These ligands and their complexes have been characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV–Vis spectra, and elemental analysis. The spectral data of the ligands and their complexes are discussed in connection with the structural changes due to complexation. The complexes prepared showed good antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilus, and Candida albicans. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Preparations, crystal structures, electronic and CD spectra are reported for new chiral Schiff base complexes, bis(N-R-1-naphthylethyl-3,5-dichlorosalicydenaminato)nickel(II), copper(II), and zinc(II). Nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes adopt a square planar trans-[MN2O2] coordination geometry with Δ(R,R) configuration. While zinc(II) complex adopts a compressed tetrahedral trans-[MN2O2] one with Δ(R,R) configuration and exhibits an emission band around 21 000 cm−1 (λex = 27 000 cm−1). Absorption and CD spectra were recorded in N,N′-dimethylformamide, acetone, methanol, chloroform, and toluene solutions to discuss relationships between spectral shifts of d–d and π–π bands by structural changes of the complexes and physical properties of the solvents. Moreover, we have attempted to investigate conformational changes of the complexes induced by photoisomerization of azobenzene, 4-hydroxyazobenzene, or 4-aminoazobenzene, in various solutions under different conditions. Weak intermolecular interactions between complexes and azobenzenes are important for the phenomenon by conformational changes of bulky π-conjugated moieties of the ligands.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II) and Ru(III) complexes of Schiff bases derived from the condensation of sulfaguanidine with 2,4‐dihydroxy benzaldehyde ( HL1 ), 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthaldehyde ( HL2 ) and salicylaldehyde ( HL3 ) have been synthesized. The structures of the prepared metal complexes were proposed based on elemental analysis, molar conductance, thermal analysis (TGA, DSC and DTG), magnetic susceptibility measurements and spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV‐Vis, and ESR). In all complexes, the ligand bonds to the metal ion through the azomethine nitrogen and α‐hydroxy oxygen atoms. The structures of Pd(II) complex 8 and Ru(III) complex 9 were found to be polynuclear. Two kinds of stereochemical geometries; distorted tetrahedral and distorted square pyramidal, have been realized for the Cu(II) complexes based on the results of UV‐Vis, magnetic susceptibility and ESR spectra whereas octahedral geometry was predicted for Co(II), Mn(II) and Ru(III) complexes. Ni(II) complexes were predicted to be square planar and tetrahedral and Pd(II) complexes were found to be square planar. The antimicrobial activity of the ligands and their metal complexes was also investigated against the gram‐positive bacteria Staphylococcus aures and Bacillus subtilis and gram‐negative bacteria, Escherichia coli and Pesudomonas aeruginosa, by using the agar dilution method. Chloramphenicol was used as standard compound. The obtained data revealed that the metal complexes are more or less, active than the parent ligand and standard. The X‐ray crystal structure of HL3 has been also reported.  相似文献

In the present study, two new ligands, 4-chlorobenzal-azino-isonitrosoacetophenone (L1), 4-methylbenzal-azino-isonitrosoacetophenone (L2) and their metal complexes were synthesized using acetophenone as a starting material. The coloured complexes were prepared by the addition of chloride salts of Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(II) and Zr(IV) ions to a solution of ligands. In conclusion, the structures of the obtained ligands and their complexes were characterized by FT-IR, and 1H NMR spectra, AAS (atomic absorption spectrum) analysis, magnetic susceptibilities as well as elemental analysis.  相似文献

Complexes of nalidixic acid with Ca(II), Mg(II), Zn(II), Fe(III), and VO(II) ions, have been synthesized and characterized by means of microanalysis, conductance, IR, NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopy and thermogravimetric (TGA/DTG and DTA) measurements. The ligand coordinates in a bidentate mode via one carboxylate oxygen atom and the oxygen atom of the pyridine carbonyl group. The kinetic thermodynamic parameters such as: activation energy E*, ΔH*, ΔS*, and ΔG* have been estimated using Coats and Redfern as well as Horowitz-Metzger equations. Antimicrobial activity of the obtained complexes against some kinds of bacteria and fungi has been evaluated.  相似文献

Complexes of 5-(phenylazo)-2-thiohydantoin (L1) and 5-(2-hydroxyphenylazo)-2-thiohydantoin (HL2) with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts have been synthesised and characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, UV-Vis, IR, ESR and TG studies. The magnetic and spectral data suggested octahedral geometry for [L1M(OAc)2(H2O)2xH2O {M=Nill and Cull} and [L1CuCl2(H2O)]·H2O (dimeric form for the latter), trigonal bipyramidal geometry for [L2Co(OAc)(H2O)]·2H2O, square pyramidal geometry for [L2Ni(OAc)(H2O)]·H2O and square planar geometry for [L2CuCl]·2H2O. TG studies confirmed the chemical formulations of these complexes and showed that their thermal degradation takes place in three to five steps, depending on the type of the ligand and the geometry of the complex. The kinetic parameters (n, E#, A, ΔH#, ΔS# and ΔG#) of the thermal decomposition stages were computed using the Coats-Redfern and other standard equations and are discussed.  相似文献

Heteronuclear complexes containing oxorhenium(V), with Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II) and UO2(VI) ions were prepared by the reaction of the complex ligands [ReO(HL1)(PPh3)(OH2)Cl]Cl (a) and/or [ReO(H2L2)(PPh3)(OH2)Cl]Cl (b), where H2L1?=?1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione-3-(5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine-3-ylhydrazone) and H3L2?=?1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)butane-1,3-dione-3-(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylhydrazone), with transition and actinide salts. Heterodinuclear complexes of ReO(V) with Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) were obtained using a 1?:?1 mole ratio of the complex ligand and the metal salt. Heterotrinuclear complexes were obtained containing ReO(V) with UO2(VI) and Cu(II) using 2?:?1 mole ratios of the complex ligand and the metal salts. The complex ligands a and b coordinate with the heterometal ion via a nitrogen of the heterocyclic ring and the nitrogen atom of the C=N7 group. All transition metal cations in the heteronuclear complexes have octahedral configurations, while UO2(VI)?complexes have distorted dodecahedral geometry. The structures of the complexes were elucidated by IR, ESR, electronic and 1H NMR spectra, magnetic moments, conductance and TG-DSC measurements. The antifungal activities of the complex ligands and their heteronuclear complexes towards Alternaria alternata and Aspergillus niger showed comparable behavior with some well-known antibiotics.  相似文献

The metal ions Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Zr(IV), and Hg(II) reacted with synthesized Schiff base (L) in mole ratios 1:2 (M:L) formed metal complexes. The structure of the prepared compounds was identified based on the data obtained from elemental analyses, magnetic measurement, melting point, conductivity, Fourier-transform infrared, UV–Vis., nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra, and thermal analysis (TG/DTG [thermogravimetric/differential thermal analysis]). The results indicate that the L bound as bidentate through the oxygen atom of the hydroxyl group and nitrogen atom of the azomethine group with the metal ions and the complexes is electrolyte in nature. TG/DTG studies confirmed the chemical formula for complexes. The kinetic and thermodynamic parameters such as E*, ΔH*, ΔS*, and ΔG* were determined by using Coats–Redfern and Horowitz–Metzger methods at n = 1 and n ≠ 1. The XRD patterns exhibited a semicrystalline nature lying between the amorphous and crystalline nature for L, (D), and (E), but the complexes (A), (B), and (C) possessed a crystalline character. Density functional theory confirmed the structural geometry of the complexes. In vitro antimicrobial activities were performed for L and its metal complexes.  相似文献

The triethanolamine complexes, [M(tea)2]sq·nH2O, (n=2 for Co(II), n=0 for Ni(II), Cu(II) and n=1 for Cd(II), tea=triethanolamine, sq2−=squarate), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements, UV-Vis and IR spectra, and thermal analyses techniques (TG, DTG and DTA). The Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes possess octahedral geometry, while the Cd(II) complex is monocapped trigonal prismatic geometry. Dianionic squarate behaves as a counter ion in the complexes. The thermal decomposition of these complexes takes place in three stages: (i) dehydration, (ii) release of the tea ligands and (iii) burning of organic residue. On the basis of the first DTGmax of the decomposition, the thermal stability of the anhydrous complexes follows the order: Ni(II), 289°C>Co(II), 230°C>Cu(II), 226°C>Cu(II), 170°C in static air atmosphere. The final decomposition products — the respective metal oxides — were identified by FTIR spectroscopy.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes have been prepared with Schiff bases derived from 3-formyl-2-mercaptoquinoline and substituted anilines. The prepared Schiff bases and chelates have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibilities, electronic, IR, 1H-NMR, ESR, cyclic voltammetry, FAB-mass, and thermal studies. The complexes have stoichiometry of the type ML2 · 2H2O coordinating through azomethine nitrogen and thiolate sulfur of 2-mercapto quinoline. An enhancement in fluorescence has been noticed in the Zn(II) complexes whereas quenching occurred in the other complexes. The ligands and their metal complexes have been screened in vitro for antibacterial and antifungal activities by MIC methods with biological activity increasing on complexation. Cu(II) complexes show greater bacterial than fungicidal activities. The brine shrimp bioassay was also carried out to study the in vitro cytotoxicity properties of the ligands and their corresponding complexes. Only four compounds have exhibited potent cytotoxic activity against Artemia salina; the other compounds were almost inactive for this assay.  相似文献

Neutral tetradentate N2O2 type complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Zn(II) and VO(II) have been synthesised using a Schiff base formed by the condensation of o-phenylenediamine with acetoacetanilide in alcohol medium. All the complexes were characterised on the basis of their microanalytical data, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV-Vis1H NMR and ESR spectra. IR and UV-Vis spectral data suggest that all the complexes are square-planar except the Mn(II) and VO(II) chelates, which are of octahedral and square pyramidal geometry respectively. The monomeric and neutral nature of the complexes was confirmed by their magnetic susceptibility data and low conductance values. The ESR spectra of copper and vanadyl complexes in DMSO solution at 300 K and 77 K were recorded and their salient features are reported.  相似文献

Fifteen new complexes of transition metals were designed using three Schiff base ligands and aldol condensation of 2,3-diaminopyridine with 5-R-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (R = F, Cl, Br) in the 1:2 molar ratio. The tetradentate ligands N,N′-bis(5-R-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde) pyridine were acquired with the common formula H2[(5-R-sal)2py] and characterized by IR, UV–Vis spectra, 1H-NMR and elemental analysis. These ligands produce 1:1 complexes M[(5-R-sal)2py] with Fe(III), Ni(II), Co(III), V(IV) and U(VI) metal ions. The electronic property and nature of complexes were identified by IR, UV–Vis spectra, elemental analysis, X-ray crystallography and cyclic voltammetric methods. The catalytic activity of complexes for epoxidation of styrene with UHP as primary oxidant at minimal temperature (10 °C) has been planned. The spectral data of the ligands and their complexes are deliberate in connection with the structural changes which happen due to complex preparation. The electrochemical outcome has good conformability with what suggested for electronic interaction among metal center and ligand by the UV–Vis and IR measurements.  相似文献

Complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II) were synthesized with the macrocyclic ligand, i.e., 2,3,9,10-tetraketo-1,4,8,11-tetraazacycoletradecane. The ligand was prepared by the [2 + 2] condensation of diethyloxalate and 1,3-diamino propane and characterized by elemental analysis, mass, IR and 1H NMR spectral studies. All the complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, electronic and electron paramagnetic resonance spectral studies. The molar conductance measurements of Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes in DMF correspond to non electrolyte nature, whereas Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes are 1:2 electrolyte. On the basis of spectral studies an octahedral geometry has been assigned for Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, whereas square planar geometry assigned for Pd(II) and Pt(II). In vitro the ligand and its metal complexes were evaluated against plant pathogenic fungi (Fusarium odum, Aspergillus niger and Rhizoctonia bataticola) and some compounds found to be more active as commercially available fungicide like Chlorothalonil.  相似文献
