The kinetics of the hydrogen abstraction from H2O2 by ?OH has been modeled with MP2/6‐31G*//MP2/6‐31G*, MP2‐SAC//MP2/6‐31G*, MP2/6‐31+G**//MP2/6‐31+G**, MP2‐SAC// MP2/6‐31+G**, MP4(SDTQ)/6‐311G**//MP2/6‐31G*, CCSD(T)/6‐31G*//CCSD(T)/6‐31G*, CCSD(T)/6‐31G**//CCSD(T)/6‐31G**, CCSD(T)/6‐311++G**//MP2/6‐31G* in the gas phase. MD simulations have been used to generate initial geometries for the stationary points along the potential energy surface for hydrogen abstraction from H2O2. The effective fragment potential (EFP) has been used to optimize the relevant structures in solution. Furthermore, the IEFPCM model has been used for the supermolecules generated via MD calculations. IEFPCM/MP2/6‐31G* and IEFPCM/CCSD(T)/6‐31G* calculations have also been performed for structures without explicit water molecules. Experimentally, the rate constant for hydrogen abstraction by ?OH drops from 1.75 × 10?12 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 in the gas phase to 4.48 × 10?14 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 in solution. The same trend has been reproduced best with MP4 (SDTQ)/6‐311G**//MP2/6‐31G* in the gas phase (0.415 × 10?12 cm3 molecule?1 s?1) and with EFP (UHF/6‐31G*) in solution (3.23 × 10?14 cm3 molecule?1 s?1). © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The reaction mechanism of F2+Cl2→2ClF has been investigated with the density functional theory at the B3LYP/6‐311G* level. Six transition states have been found for the three possible reaction paths and verified by the normal mode vibrational and IRC analyses. Ab initio MP2/6‐311G* geometry optimizations and CCSD(T)/6‐311G(2df)//MP2/6‐311G* single‐point energy calculations have been performed for comparison. It is found that when the F2 (or Cl2) molecule decomposes into atoms first and then the F (or Cl) atom reacts with the molecule Cl2 (or F2) nearly along the molecular axis, the energy barrier is very low. The calculated energy barrier of F attacking Cl2 is zero and that of Cl attacking F2 is only 15.57 kJ?mol?1 at the B3LYP level. However, the calculated dissociation energies of F2 and Cl2 are as high as 145.40 and 192.48 kJ?mol?1, respectively. When the reaction proceeds through a bimolecular reaction mechanism, two four‐center transition states are obtained and the lower energy barrier is 218.69 kJ?mol?1. Therefore, the title reaction F2+Cl2→2ClF is most probably initiated from the atomization of the F2 molecule and terminated by the reaction of F attacking Cl2 nearly along the Cl? Cl bond. MP2 calculations lead to the same conclusion, but the geometry of TS and the energy barrier are somewhat different. © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2002  相似文献

The potential energy surfaces of N8 clusters were investigated by density functional theory (DFT) and a possible synthesis reaction pathway for N8 (CS) was suggested. The species involved were fully optimized up to the B3LYP/6‐311+G* level of theory. Relative energies were further calculated at the QCISD/6‐311+G*//B3LYP/6‐311+G* level. The reaction rate constants of these steps from the 1 (N5+?N3?, complex, CS) to 2 (N8, CS), 2 (N8, CS) to 3 (N8, CS), 3 (N8, CS) to 4 (N8, D2d), and 4 (N8, D2d) to 5 (N8, CS) reactions were predicted by the VTST theory. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A detailed theoretical survey of the potential energy surface (PES) for the CH2CO + O(3P) reaction is carried out at the QCISD(T)/6‐311+G(3df,2p)//B3LYP/6‐311+G(d,p) level. The geometries, vibrational frequencies, and energies of all stationary points involved in the reaction are calculated at the B3LYP/6‐311+G(d,p) level. More accurate energy information is provided by single‐point calculations at the QCISD(T)/6‐311+G(3df,2p) level. Relationships of the reactants, transition states, intermediates, and products are confirmed by the intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) calculations. The results suggest that P1(CH2+CO2) is the most important product. This study presents highlights of the mechanism of the title reaction. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Ab initio geometry optimization was carried out on 10 selected conformations of maltose and two 2‐methoxytetrahydropyran conformations using the density functional denoted B3LYP combined with two basis sets. The 6‐31G* and 6‐311++G** basis sets make up the B3LYP/6‐31G* and B3LYP/6‐311++G** procedures. Internal coordinates were fully relaxed, and structures were gradient optimized at both levels of theory. Ten conformations were studied at the B3LYP/6‐31G* level, and five of these were continued with full gradient optimization at the B3LYP/6‐311++G** level of theory. The details of the ab initio optimized geometries are presented here, with particular attention given to the positions of the atoms around the anomeric center and the effect of the particular anomer and hydrogen bonding pattern on the maltose ring structures and relative conformational energies. The size and complexity of the hydrogen‐bonding network prevented a rigorous search of conformational space by ab initio calculations. However, using empirical force fields, low‐energy conformers of maltose were found that were subsequently gradient optimized at the two ab initio levels of theory. Three classes of conformations were studied, as defined by the clockwise or counterclockwise direction of the hydroxyl groups, or a flipped conformer in which the ψ‐dihedral is rotated by ∼180°. Different combinations of ω side‐chain rotations gave energy differences of more than 6 kcal/mol above the lowest energy structure found. The lowest energy structures bear remarkably close resemblance to the neutron and X‐ray diffraction crystal structures. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. * J Comput Chem 21: 1204–1219, 2000  相似文献

On the basis of the structures and properties of the ClO/ClO? system obtained at the density functional theory (DFT) (UB3LYP) level, employing the 6‐311+G(3df) standard basis set, the electron transfer reactivity of this system is investigated. The results indicate that there are five possible stable coupling complexes that correspond to the generous minima on the global potential energy surfaces (PES). The most stable coupling complex is planar EC4, in which there is a O? O linkage with two trans‐Cl atoms. Their stabilization energies are calculated to be 20.57 (EC1: C1), 20.54 (EC2: C2, 2B), 20.69 (EC3: C1), 20.70 (EC4: Cs, 2A′), and 20.69 (EC.5: C2h, 2Bu) kcal/mol at the B3LYP/6‐311+G(3df) level; with the correction of the basis set superposition error (BSSE), the stability order of these encounter complexes is EC4 > EC.5 > EC3 > EC1 > EC2. Based on the five encounter complexes, five coupling modes are designed for the study of the electron transfer reactivity of this system. The dissociation energy curves at the activated states and the corresponding activation energies of these five coupling modes are obtained and are compared at the B3LYP/6‐311+G(3df) and MP2/6‐311+G* levels. The inapplicability of DFT methods has also been discussed in this article in predicting the energy curves, especially with a long contact distance, in which DFT methods give the abnormal behavior for the dissociations of the complexes caused by the “inverse symmetry breaking” problem. On the basis of the golden rule of the time‐dependent perturbation theory, the electron transfer reactivity and the contact distance dependence of the various electron transfer kinetics parameters (e.g., activation energy, coupling matrix element) have been analyzed at the UMP2(full)/6‐311+G* level. The electron transfer can take place over a range of contact distances, but the most effective coupling distance corresponds to only a small range. The coupling orientation analyses also indicate that the most favorable coupling mode to the electron transfer does not always correspond to the most stable encounter complex mechanism. Some highly energetic coupling modes are more favorable for the electron transfer. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2005  相似文献

Rate coefficients for the reaction of the hydroxyl radical with CH3OCH2F (HFE‐161) were computed using transition state theory coupled with ab initio methods, viz., MP2, G3MP2, and G3B3 theories in the temperature range of 200–400 K. Structures of the reactants and transition states (TSs) were optimized at MP2(FULL) and B3LYP level of theories with 6‐31G* and 6‐311++G** basis sets. The potential energy surface was scanned at both the level of theories. Five different TSs were identified for each rotamer. Calculations of Intrinsic reaction coordinates were performed to confirm the existence of all the TSs. The kinetic parameters due to all different TSs are reported in this article. The rate coefficients for the title reaction were computed to be k = (9 ± 1.08) × 10?13 exp [?(1,713 ± 33)/T] cm3 molecule?1 s?1 at MP2, k = (7.36 ± 0.42) × 10?13 exp [?(198 ± 16)/T] cm3 molecule?1 s?1 at G3MP2 and k = (5.36 ± 1.57) × 10?13 exp [?(412 ± 81)/T] cm3 molecule?1 s?1 at G3B3 theories. The atmospheric lifetimes of CH3OCH2F at MP2, G3MP2, and G3B3 level of theories were estimated to be 20, 0.1, and 0.3 years, respectively. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A theoretical study of the mechanism and the kinetics for the hydrogen abstraction reaction of the biradical hydroperoxy radical has been presented at the CCSD(T)/6‐311++G(3d,2p)//CCSD/6‐31+G(d,p) level of theory. Our theoretical calculations suppose a stepwise mechanism involving the formation of a postreactant complex in the triplet and singlet entrance channels. Four transition states of the six‐membered chain complexes (3TS1 and 1TS1) and six‐membered ring complexes (3TS2 and 1TS2) are located at the high dual level CCSD(T)/6‐311++G(3d,2p)//CCSD/6‐31+G(d,p) method. The rate constants of Path 1 ~ Path 4 at the CCSD(T)/6‐311++G(3d,2p)//CCSD/6‐31+G (d,p) level are calculated by means of the conventional transition state theory (TST) and canonical variational TST without and with small‐curvature tunneling (SCT) correction within the temperature range of 200–2,500 K. The calculated results show that the triplet channel is the dominating reaction channel and Path 2 is found to be the most favorable pathway. The rate constants of Path 2 are in good agreement with the experimental values at the experimentally measured temperatures. Moreover, the variational effect is not obvious in the low temperature range but is not neglectable in the high temperature range. The SCT plays an important role particularly in the low temperature range. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2011  相似文献

The interconversions between isomers with the same spin multiplicity of neutral B6 and charged B6 ? and B6 + clusters have been investigated at the B3LYP/6-311+G* level of theory, including determination of the minimum energy pathways with transition states connecting the corresponding reactants and products. In dynamic calculations, 26 isomers were optimized, including 11 novel isomers. In order to further refine the energies, single-point B3LYP/6-311+G(3df) calculations were carried out on the corresponding B3LYP/6-311+G* geometries of all isomers of B6, B6 ? and B6 + and the corresponding isomerization transition states. The stability of each isomer of B6 (singlet and triplet states), B6 ? (doublet state) and B6 + (doublet state) was analyzed from both thermodynamic and dynamic viewpoints.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations of the structural, energetic, vibrational, and magnetic characteristics of the lowest-lying structures for isolated molecules and ions of light-metal tetrahydroborates (Li, Na, Be, Mg, and Al) have been performed by the perturbation theory (MP2), quadratic configuration interaction (QCISD(T)), coupled cluster (CCSD(T)), and density functional theory (B3LYP) methods using the 6-31G*, 6-31G**, 6-311+G**, and 6-311++G** basis sets. The trends in the behavior of the structural parameters, the energies of different decomposition pathways, barriers to internal rotation of BH4 groups, normal mode frequencies, magnetic shielding constants, and spin density distribution (in radicals) have been analyzed in various related series of these compounds. The results obtained by ab initio methods and at the DFT level are compared. The economical approximation B3LYP/6-311++G**//B3LYP/6-311+G** adequately reproduces the results obtained at the higher level of theory CCSD(T)/6-311++G*s*//MP2/6-31G* even though it requires considerably shorter CPU times and smaller amounts of memory.  相似文献

The three‐body energy expansion in the fragment molecular orbital method (FMO) was applied to the 2nd order Møller–Plesset theory (MP2). The accuracy of both the two and three‐body expansions was determined for water clusters, alanine n‐mers (α‐helices and β‐strands) and one synthetic protein, using the 6‐31G* and 6‐311G* basis sets. At the best level of theory (three‐body, two molecules/residues per fragment), the absolute errors in energy relative to ab initio MP2 were at most 1.2 and 5.0 mhartree, for the 6‐31G* and 6‐311G* basis sets, respectively. The relative accuracy was at worst 99.996% and 99.96%, for 6‐31G* and 6‐311G*, respectively. A three‐body approximation was introduced and the optimum threshold value was determined. The protein calculation (6‐31G*) at the production level (FMO2/2) took 3 h on 36 3.2‐GHz Pentium 4 nodes and had the absolute error in the MP2 correlation energy of only 2 kcal/mol. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The dual‐level direct dynamics study is carried out in the reactions of SH (SD) + F2, and enthalpies of formation for the species FSH (FSD) are evaluated using isodesmic reactions. Furthermore, the dynamics calculations are performed using the variational transition‐state theory (VTST) with interpolated single‐point energies (ISPE) method at the approximate QCISD(T)/6‐311++G(3df, 2pd)//MPW1K/6‐311G(d, p) level. Over the temperature range of 200–2000 K, theoretical rate constants evaluated using canonical variational transition state theory (CVT) are in good agreement with the available experimental values. The kinetic isotope effects for the title reactions are not obvious. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 37: 710–716, 2005  相似文献

Hydride‐transfer reactions between benzylic substrates and 2,3‐dichloro‐5,6‐dicyano‐1,4‐benzoquinone (DDQ) were investigated by DFT (density functional theory) calculations. The lowest unoccupied molecular orbital of DDQ has the largest extension on two carbonyl oxygens, which comes from two‐step mixing of antisymmetric orbitals of fragment π MOs. Transition‐state (TS) geometries and activation energies of reactions of four benzylic substrates R2? CH2para‐C6H4? R1 (R1, R2 = H and/or OCH3) with DDQ were calculated. M06‐2X/6‐311(+*)G* was found to be a practical computational method, giving energies and geometries similar to those of M06‐2X/6‐311++G(3df,2pd) and wB97xD/6‐311++G(3df,2pd). For toluene (R1 = R2 = H), an initiation‐propagation model was suggested, and the calculated kinetic isotope effect k(H)/k(D) = 5.0 with the tunnel correction at the propagating step is in good agreement with the experimental value 5.2. A reaction of para‐MeO? C6H4? CH2(OMe) + DDQ + (H2O)14para‐MeO? C6H4? C(?O)H + HOMe + DDQH2 + (H2O)13 was investigated by M06‐2X/6‐311(+*)G*. Four elementary processes were found and the hydride transfer (TS1) is the rate‐determining step. The hydride transfer was promoted by association with the water cluster. The size of the water cluster, (H2O)n, at TS1 was examined. Three models of n = 14, 20, and 26 were found to give similar activation energies. Metal‐free neutral hydride transfers from activated benzylic substrates to DDQ were proposed to be ready processes both kinetically and thermodynamically. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The proton affinity on each of the possible sites in the antitumor 2‐(4‐aminophenyl)benzazoles has been calculated at the B3LYP/6‐311G** level of theory in the gas phase and in solution. The N3‐site of protonation is found to be strongly favored over the NH2‐site for the studied compounds both in gas phase and in solution. The stability of N3‐protonated species is explained by the resonance interaction of the NH2‐group with the heterocyclic ring. The potential energy surface (PES) for the protonation process was studied at the density functional theory (DFT)/B3LYP/6‐311++G** level of theory. Solvent effects on the PES were also examined using two models: Onsager self‐consistent field and polarizable continuum model (PCM). © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2005  相似文献

The structures and stabilities of the van der Waals clusters (N2) n (n = 2–8) have been evaluated using ab initio calculations at the MP2(full)/6–311+G* and CCSD(full)/6–311+G* level of theory. At n = 2–4, the formation of planar and three-dimensional structures is possible. At n > 4, only “globular” structures can be formed, whose formation energies increase with the cluster size. As the number of interacting molecules increases, the examined systems exhibit cooperative effects associated with non-additive enhancement of nonbonded intermolecular interactions.  相似文献

The heats of formation (HOFs) of heterocyclic nitro compounds were obtained by using a density functional theory B3LYP method with 6‐31G* and 6‐311+G** basis sets. The isodesmic reactions designed for the evaluation of HOFs keep most of the basic ring structures of the title compounds and thus ensure the credibility of the results. The values of HOFs are 567.90, 874.29 and 975.83 kJ/mol at the B3LYP/6‐31G* level for hexanitrohexazaadamantane ( A ), nonanitrononaza‐tetracyclo[7.3.1.13,7.15,11] pentadecane ( B ) and tetranitrotetrazacubane ( C ) respectively. The predicted detonation velocities of the title compounds are larger than, and detonation pressures are much larger than that of the widely used 1,3,5,7‐tetranitro‐1,3,5,7‐tetraazacyclooctane (HMX). The dissociation energy for the weakest C‐N bonds in the cage skeleton of the title compounds are 137‐144 kJ/mol at the B3LYP/6‐31G* level.  相似文献

The rate coefficients of the CHF2CHFCHF2 (HFC‐245ea) + OH reaction were computed using G3B3 theory in the temperature range 200 and 400 K. Geometries were optimized for all reactants, transition states, and products at the B3LYP level of theory using 6‐31G* and 6‐311++G** basis sets. Three rotamers (R1, R2, and R3) of CHF2CHFCHF2 were identified using a potential energy surface scan. Thirteen independent transition states were identified and confirmed by intrinsic reaction coordinate calculations. The kinetic parameters due to all different transition states are presented in this paper. All the three rotamers were taken into account in computing the rate coefficients. Throughout the temperature range of this study, rotamer R3 contributes significantly (more than 90%), whereas the other two rotamers R1 and R2 contribute less to the total rate coefficient. The rate coefficients for the title reaction were computed to be k = (1.86 ± 0.17) × 10?13 exp[?(748±26)/T] cm3 molecule?1s?1 and (1.25 ± 0.23) × 10?13 exp[?(587±50)/T] cm3molecule?1 s?1 with Wigner's and Eckart's unsymmetrical tunneling methods, respectively, and they are in reasonable agreement with the experimentally measured ones. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Sulfenic acid (HSOH, 1 ) has been synthesized in the gas‐phase by low‐pressure high‐temperature (1150 °C) pyrolysis of di‐tert‐butyl sulfoxide (tBu2SO, 2 ) and characterized by means of matrix isolation and gas‐phase IR spectroscopy. High‐level coupled‐cluster (CC) calculations (CCSD(T)/cc‐pVTZ and CCSD(T)/cc‐pVQZ) support the first identification of the gas‐phase IR spectrum of 1 and enable its spectral characterization. Five of the six vibrational fundamentals of matrix‐isolated 1 have been assigned, and its rotational‐resolved gas‐phase IR spectrum provides additional information on the O–H and S–H stretching fundamentals. Investigations of the pyrolysis reaction by mass spectrometry, matrix isolation, and gas‐phase FT‐IR spectroscopy reveal that, up to 500 °C, 2 decomposes selectively into tert‐butylsulfenic acid, (tBuSOH, 3 ), and 2‐methylpropene. The formation of the isomeric sulfoxide (tBu(H)SO, 3 a ) has been excluded. Transient 3 has been characterized by a comprehensive matrix and gas‐phase vibrational IR study guided by the predicted vibrational spectrum calculated at the density functional theory (DFT) level (B3LYP/6‐311+G(2d,p)). At higher temperatures, the intramolecular decomposition of 3 , monitored by matrix IR spectroscopy, yields short‐lived 1 along with 2‐methylpropene, but also H2O, and most probably sulfur atoms. In addition, HSSOH ( 6 ), H2, and S2O are found among the final pyrolysis products observed at 1150 °C in the gas phase owing to competing intra‐ and intermolecular decomposition routes of 3 . The decomposition routes of the starting compound 2 and of the primary intermediate 3 are discussed on the basis of experimental results and a computational study performed at the B3LYP/6‐311G* and second‐order Møller–Plesset (MP2/6‐311G* and RI‐MP2/QZVPP) levels of theory.  相似文献

Density functional theory (DFT) and ab initio methods were used to study gas‐phase pyrolytic reaction mechanisms of iV‐ethyl, N‐isopropyl and N‐t‐butyl substituted 2‐aminopyrazine at B3LYP/6–31G* and MP2/6–31G*, respectively. Single‐point energies of all optimized molecular geometries were calculated at B3LYP/6–311 + G(2d,p) level. Results show that the pyrolytic reactions were carried out through a unimolecular first‐order mechanism which were caused by the migration of atom H(17) via a six‐member ring transition state. The activation energies which were verified by vibrational analysis and correlated with zero‐point energies along the reaction channel at B3LYP/6–311 + G(2d,p) level were 252.02 kJ. mo?1 (N‐ethyl substituted), 235.92 kJ‐mol?1 (N‐t‐isopropyl substituted) and 234.27 kJ‐mol?1 (N‐t‐butyl substituted), respectively. The results were in good agreement with available experimental data.  相似文献
