Heat transport at the microscale is of vital importance in microtechnology applications. The heat transport equation is different from the traditional heat diffusion equation since a second‐order derivative of temperature with respect to time and a third‐order mixed derivative of temperature with respect to space and time are introduced. In this study, we consider the heat transport equation in spherical coordinates and develop a three‐level finite difference scheme for solving the heat transport equation in a microsphere. It is shown that the scheme is convergent, which implies that the scheme is unconditionally stable. Results show that the numerical solution converges to the exact solution. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 20: 60–71, 2004.  相似文献

Heat transport at the microscale is of vital importance in microtechnology applications. The heat transport equation is different from the traditional heat transport equation since a second order derivative of temperature with respect to time and a third-order mixed derivative of temperature with respect to space and time are introduced. In this study,we develop a hybrid finite element-finite difference (FE-FD) scheme with two levels in time for the three dimensional heat transport equation in a cylindrical thin film with submicroscale thickness. It is shown that the scheme is unconditionally stable. The scheme is then employed to obtain the temperature rise in a sub-microscale cylindrical gold film. The method can be applied to obtain the temperature rise in any thin films with sub-microscale thickness, where the geometry in the planar direction is arbitrary.  相似文献

Heat transport at the microscale is of vital importance in microtechnology applications. The heat transport equation is different from the traditional heat diffusion equation since a second-order derivative of temperature with respect to time and a third-order mixed derivative of temperature with respect to space and time are introduced. In this study, we develop a finite difference scheme with two levels in time for the 3D heat transport equation in a sub-microscale thin film. It is shown by the discrete energy method that the scheme is unconditionally stable. The 3D implicit scheme is then solved by using a preconditioned Richardson iteration, so that only a tridiagonal linear system is solved for each iteration. The numerical procedure is employed to obtain the temperature rise in a gold sub-microscale thin film.  相似文献

Heat transport at the microscale is of vital importance in microtechnology applications. In this article, we proposed a new ADI difference scheme of the Crank‐Nicholson type for heat transport equation at the microscale. It is shown that the scheme is second order accurate in time and in space in the H1 norm. Numerical result implies that the theoretical analysis is correct and the scheme is effective. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2004  相似文献

A compact finite difference scheme is developed to the three-dimensional microscale heat transport equation. This new scheme is fourth order in space and second order in time. It is proved to be unconditionally stable with respect to initial values. Numerical results are provided for comparison testing purpose.  相似文献

Heat transport at the microscale is of vital importance in microtechnology applications. In this study, we develop a finite difference scheme of the Crank‐Nicholson type by introducing an intermediate function for the heat transport equation at the microscale. In this paper we study the spatial behaviour of solutions of some problems for the dual‐phase‐lag heat equation on a semi‐infinite cylinder. The theory of dual‐phase‐lag heat conduction leads to a hyperbolic partial differential equation with a third derivative with respect to time. First, we investigate the spatial evolution of solutions of an initial boundary‐value problem with zero boundary conditions on the lateral surface of the cylinder. Under a boundedness restriction on the initial data, an energy estimate is obtained. An upper bound for the amplitude term in this estimate in terms of the initial and boundary data is also established. For the case of zero initial conditions, a more explicit estimate is obtained which shows that solutions decay exponentially along certain spatial‐time lines. A class of non‐standard problems is also considered for which the temperature and its first two time derivatives at a fixed time T are assumed proportional to their initial values. We consider a fully hyperbolic phase‐field model in this paper. Our model consists of a damped hyperbolic equation of second order with respect to the phase function χ(t) , which is coupled with a hyperbolic system of first order with respect to the relative temperature θ(t) and the heat flux vector q (t). We prove the well‐posedness of this system subject to homogeneous Neumann boundary condition and no‐heat flux boundary condition. Then, we show that this dynamical system is a dissipative one. Finally, using the celebrated ?ojasiewicz–Simon inequality and by constructing an auxiliary functional, we prove that the solution of this problem converges to an equilibrium as time goes to infinity. We also obtain an estimate of the decay rate to equilibrium. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We investigate a control problem for the heat equation. The goal is to find an optimal heat transfer coefficient in the dynamic boundary condition such that a desired temperature distribution at the boundary is adhered. To this end we consider a function space setting in which the heat flux across the boundary is forced to be an L p function with respect to the surface measure, which in turn implies higher regularity for the time derivative of temperature. We show that the corresponding elliptic operator generates a strongly continuous semigroup of contractions and apply the concept of maximal parabolic regularity. This allows to show the existence of an optimal control and the derivation of necessary and sufficient optimality conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, a spatial fractional-order thermal transport equation with the Caputo derivative is proposed to describe convective heat transfer of nanofluids within disordered porous media in boundary layer flow. This equation arises naturally when the effect of anomalous migration of nanoparticles on heat transfer is considered. The numerical results show that local Nusselt numbers of four different kinds of nanofluids are all inversely proportional to the fractional derivative exponent β. Based on this finding, it is concluded that the anomalous diffusion of nanoparticles improves the convective heat transfer of nanofluids and the space fractional thermal transport equation may serve as a candidate model for studying nanofluids. Additionally, the effects of other involved physical parameters on temperature distribution and Nusselt number are presented and analyzed.  相似文献

This research aims to develop a time‐dependent pseudospectral‐finite difference scheme for solving a 3D dual‐phase‐lagging heat transport equation in a submicroscale thin film. The scheme uses periodic pseudospectral discretization in space and a fully second‐order finite difference discretization in time. The three consecutive time steps model is then solved explicitly, by using a preconditioned conjugate gradient method. The scheme is illustrated by an example which is used to investigate the heat transfer in a gold submicroscale thin film. Comparisons are made with available literature. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq, 2007  相似文献

The central symmetric time-fractional heat conduction equation with Caputo derivative of order 0 < α ≤ 2 is considered in a ball under two types of Robin boundary condition: the mathematical one with the prescribed linear combination of values of temperature and values of its normal derivative at the boundary, and the physical condition with the prescribed linear combination of values of temperature and values of the heat flux at the boundary, which is a consequence of Newton’s law of convective heat exchange between a body and the environment. The integral transform technique is used. Numerical results are illustrated graphically.  相似文献

A Hamilton–Jacobi equation with Caputo’s time fractional derivative of order less than one is considered. The notion of a viscosity solution is introduced to prove unique existence of a solution to the initial value problem under periodic boundary conditions. For this purpose, comparison principle as well as Perron’s method is established. Stability with respect to the order of derivative as well as the standard one is studied. Regularity of a solution is also discussed. Our results in particular apply to a linear transport equation with time fractional derivatives with variable coe?cients.  相似文献

A simplified transient energy‐transport system for semiconductors subject to mixed Dirichlet–Neumann boundary conditions is analyzed. The model is formally derived from the non‐isothermal hydrodynamic equations in a particular vanishing momentum relaxation limit. It consists of a drift‐diffusion‐type equation for the electron density, involving temperature gradients, a nonlinear heat equation for the electron temperature, and the Poisson equation for the electric potential. The global‐in‐time existence of bounded weak solutions is proved. The proof is based on the Stampacchia truncation method and a careful use of the temperature equation. Under some regularity assumptions on the gradients of the variables, the uniqueness of solutions is shown. Finally, numerical simulations for a ballistic diode in one space dimension illustrate the behavior of the solutions. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper we study the spatial behaviour of solutions for the three-phase-lag heat equation on a semi-infinite cylinder. The theory of three-phase-lag heat conduction leads to a hyperbolic partial differential equation with a fourth-order derivative with respect to time. First, we investigate the spatial evolution of solutions of an initial boundary-value problem with zero boundary conditions on the lateral surface of the cylinder. Under a boundedness restriction on the initial data, an energy estimate is obtained. An upper bound for the amplitude term in this estimate in terms of the initial and boundary data is also established. For the case of zero initial conditions, a more explicit estimate is obtained which shows that solutions decay exponentially along certain spatial-time lines. A class of non-standard problems is also considered for which the temperature and its first two time derivatives at a fixed time T0 are assumed proportional to their initial values. These results are relevant in the context of the Saint-Venant Principle for heat conduction problems.  相似文献

We prove estimates in weighted Hölder norms for a solution to the model linear problem related with the one-phase Stefan problem with a small multiplier ε at time derivative in the heat equation. These estimates are uniform with respect to parameter ε and are significant in justification of passage to the limit in the one-phase Stefan problem as the specific heat tends to zero. We consider the general nonlinear heat equation on where and g satisfies certain growth conditions. We prove the existence of global solutions for small initial data with respect to a norm which is related to the structure of the equation. We also prove that some of those global solutions are asymptotic for large time to self-similar solutions of the single power nonlinear heat equation, i.e. with Received: 23 July 1999 / Accepted: 14 December 2000 / Published online: 23 July 2001  相似文献

A high‐accuracy numerical approach for a nonhomogeneous time‐fractional diffusion equation with Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions is described in this paper. The time‐fractional derivative is described in the sense of Riemann‐Liouville and discretized by the backward Euler scheme. A fourth‐order optimal cubic B‐spline collocation (OCBSC) method is used to discretize the space variable. The stability analysis with respect to time discretization is carried out, and it is shown that the method is unconditionally stable. Convergence analysis of the method is performed. Two numerical examples are considered to demonstrate the performance of the method and validate the theoretical results. It is shown that the proposed method is of order Ox4 + Δt2 ? α) convergence, where α ∈ (0,1) . Moreover, the impact of fractional‐order derivative on the solution profile is investigated. Numerical results obtained by the present method are compared with those obtained by the method based on standard cubic B‐spline collocation method. The CPU time for present numerical method and the method based on cubic B‐spline collocation method are provided.  相似文献

We prove the existence and uniqueness, local in time, of the solution of a one-phase Stefan problem for a non-classical heat equation for a semi-infinite material with a convective boundary condition at the fixed face x = 0. Here the heat source depends on the temperature at the fixed face x = 0 that provides a heating or cooling effect depending on the properties of the source term. We use the Friedman-Rubinstein integral representation method and the Banach contraction theorem in order to solve an equivalent system of two Volterra integral equations. We also obtain a comparison result of the solution (the temperature and the free boundary) with respect to the one corresponding with null source term.  相似文献
