The quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) were highly regarded due to its high operating frequency and significantly low power consumption. One of the most useful circuits in processors architecture is counter. This paper presents effective designs and arrangement of QCA based counter-circuits. In this study new counter circuits in QCA technology are designed and precise simulation are done using the QCADesigner. Three, four and five bits counters are proposed in this paper in QCA technology. A comparison is made between the past and recent designs to illustrate which method is better and more efficient in terms of area, complexity, number of cells, and delay. For example, the proposed three bit shift register has 174 quantum cells, 0.2μm2 occupied area and three QCA clock cycles delay.

A system for measuring the absolute frequency of a far-infrared (FIR) laser is described. Josephson point contacts have been utilized in the system as a frequency harmonic mixer connecting microwaves and optically pumped CH3OH laser lines. The Josephson point contacts are capable of generating beat signals of 90 GHz microwaves and FIR waves of up to 4.25 THz. To measure the frequency of the beat signals from the Josephson junction with a frequency counter, tracking oscillators have been developed, which tracks the beat signals by phase locking and regenerate clean signals for frequency counting. It is shown that the absolute frequency can be measured to an accuracy of about 100 Hz by using the tracking oscillators.  相似文献

The performance of a PSK heterodyne optical transmission system using external cavity semiconductor lasers as remote and local oscillators in evaluated theoretically. Controlled quantum teleportation of superposed coherent states using GHZ entangled 3-mode coherent states is studied. Proposed scheme can be implemented experimentally using linear optical components such as a symmetric lossless beam splitter, two phase-shifters and two photon counters. Fidelity is found close to unity for appreciable mean number of photons in coherent states and is 0.99 for mean photon number equal to two.

We proposed a novel optical inertial rotation sensor using a semiconductor ring laser (SRL). The frequency difference between the two counter propagating oscillation frequencies was automatically generated in a mechanically rotated SRL, which consisted of a pig-tailed laser diode amplifier module. And the Sagnac frequency shift could be detected at the first time as a beat note by the terminal voltage change of the SRL without branching the circulating optical power. These experimental results verify that an SRL operates as an optical inertial rotation sensor based on the Sagnac effect.  相似文献

A rigorous analysis of the unpolarized infrared reflectivity is presented. A randomly reflected electric field from a uniaxial anisotropic material is considered as being the sum of two individual electric field components parallel and perpendicular to the plane defined by the incident photon wavevector and the material optical axis. The harmonicity of the interatomic forces is described by a model that considers the material as coupled damped oscillators. The anharmonic components of these forces associated with interchanges of energies between phonon modes are obtained as functions of frequency and temperature by using perturbation techniques. The enhanced lattice anharmonicity by defects is accounted for by convoluting the point-defect scattering over the intrinsic anharmonic damping. The contribution of the collective plasma oscillation to the infrared reflectivity is described by the classical Drude theory. The importance of all the physical mechanisms we have involved in the model is demonstrated clearly with reference to experimental measurements. Namely the proposed model accounts well for all the features in the experimental infrared reflectivity spectra of sapphire, defect-free 4H-SiC, N-ion-implanted 4H-SiC, and commercial 4H-SiC substrate of poor crystalline quality.  相似文献

An analytic relationship between the efficiency, sensitivity, and the coefficient of working-isotope utilization is established for gas-filled cylindrical thermal-neutron counters. This dependence is expressed in terms of the ratio of the characteristic length of a counter to its diameter. The characteristic size is introduced as the ratio of the total absorption cross section to the length of the counter. The parameters of basic 3He and 10BF3 counters used in NM-64 neutron monitors are calculated.  相似文献

提出了反演折射率虚部的方法.以光散射为原理的粒子计数器测量光学等效直径,其结果受折射率虚部的影响较大;以粒子飞行时间为原理的粒子计数器测量空气动力学直径,其结果不受折射率虚部的影响.利用两种仪器的测量结果受折射率影响的差异来反演大气气溶胶的折射率虚部.通过与其它独立的测量结果对比表明,该方法反演气溶胶折射率虚部是合理的.  相似文献

In this work, the results of the measurements of characteristics of 40-cm and 2-m scintillation counters irradiated by a particle beam with a momentum of 7 GeV/c from the accelerator of the Institute for High Energy Physics are presented. The scintillators used in counters are BC-404 and BC-408 scintillators. The counters are viewed from both ends by R1828-01 photomultiplier tubes. The PMT signal spectra are well described by a convolution of the Landau and Gaussian distributions. Their width is determined mainly by fluctuations of ionization energy losses. The time distributions of the signals obey the Gaussian law. For the 40-cm counter, the time resolution is σ(T) = 88 ps; for the 2-m counter, it varies from 120–160 ps in its center to ~100 ps near the end.  相似文献

Optical transmission systems, using extremely low-loss fibres in the 1.0–1.4m wavelength region are proposed. Possibilities and expected performances are reviewed for optical components in the low-loss band, such as optical oscillators, modulators, detectors, isolators and fibre connectors. Basic considerations for the systems are described. These systems will have advantages such as a reduction in the number of repeaters and in the system costs by expanding the repeater spacing up to several tens of kilometers. Reliability requirements for repeaters, power supply and maintenance problems will be relaxed by accommodating repeaters in stations instead of manholes.  相似文献

Cluster hopping effects and frequency instabilities prevent a wide use of doubly-resonant optical parametric oscillators (DROPOs) in the field of optical diagnostics, especially in the nanosecond regime. The characteristic features of a parallel plate counter telescope are described. Using twodE/dx parallel plate avalanche counters, a silicon detector and a third parallel plate avalanche counter in front of the target operating in anticoincidence the counter telescope has a coincidence resolution time of 20 nsec and it is suitable to study (n, α)-reactions especially for large backward angles.  相似文献

Ultrafast multi-wavelength routing by an active birefringent fiber loop filter/interleaver is proposed and demonstrated. In the proposed active filter, the loop part consists of a birefringent optical fiber and a traveling-wave-type phase modulator. Numerical simulation using Jones matrix analysis shows that the periodic transmission/reflection bands of the filter can be switched by changing a phase difference between clockwise and counter clockwise components passing through the birefringent fiber loop. Experimentally, we realize fast switching by controlling the applied voltage to the phase modulator, and 8-GHz wavelength routing operation is achieved.  相似文献

Different all-optical logic operations, memory blocks etc. are developed using the inherent parallelism of optics. In any digital communication and computation system, the role of serial to parallel and parallel to serial data conversion are very much essential for making a data convenient for transition.Here in this paper, the authors propose a new scheme for developing an all-optical parallel to serial data conversion system by using optical J-K Flip-Flops and some logic gates based on optical non-linear switches. The uses of such switches are widely established in the area of optical parallel computation.This process can be extend for developing some all-optical digital devices like shift register, optical pulse counters etc. The proposed scheme deals with the best use of high parallelism of the optics, so the super-fast processing speed can be achieved.  相似文献

Chimera states, a symmetry-breaking spatiotemporal pattern in nonlocally coupled identical dynamical units, have been identified in various systems and generalized to coupled nonidentical oscillators. It has been shown that strong heterogeneity in the frequencies of nonidentical oscillators might be harmful to chimera states. In this work, we consider a ring of nonlocally coupled bicomponent phase oscillators in which two types of oscillators are randomly distributed along the ring: some oscillators with natural frequency ω1 and others with ω2 . In this model, the heterogeneity in frequency is measured by frequency mismatch |ω1ω2| between the oscillators in these two subpopulations. We report that the nonlocally coupled bicomponent phase oscillators allow for chimera states no matter how large the frequency mismatch is. The bicomponent oscillators are composed of two chimera states, one supported by oscillators with natural frequency ω1 and the other by oscillators with natural frequency ω2. The two chimera states in two subpopulations are synchronized at weak frequency mismatch, in which the coherent oscillators in them share similar mean phase velocity, and are desynchronized at large frequency mismatch, in which the coherent oscillators in different subpopulations have distinct mean phase velocities. The synchronization–desynchronization transition between chimera states in these two subpopulations is observed with the increase in the frequency mismatch. The observed phenomena are theoretically analyzed by passing to the continuum limit and using the Ott-Antonsen approach.  相似文献

The neutron metrology and dosimetry laboratory has developed a long counter, on the basis of optimization work using Monte-Carlo simulations. The calibration of this new device was performed at the IRSN standard radionuclide source facility. Measurements were also realized at the monoenergetic neutron fields facility, AMANDE, to determine the dead time correction, the effective center and efficiency as a function of neutron energy. A good agreement was observed between the long counter results and the monoenergetic neutron fluence values determined with proton recoil counters. The results of the experimental characterization of the IRSN long counter are presented in this paper.  相似文献

提出一种单光子探测器量子效率的绝对自身标定方案,利用光参量下转换过程中产生的光子对在时间上的相关性,先将参量光束分为两路,然后引入相对延时,使同时产生的孪生光子先后进入单光子探测器,然后将探测器之后的电路分为三路,其中一路直接进入计数器得到探测器所探测到的光子的总计数率,另两路用电路方法引入和光路相当的相对延时,经符合电路后进入计数器,得到前后到达探测器的光子对之间的符合计数率.这样,从符合计数率与总光子计数率之比即可在不需要任何其他探测器或者参照标准的情况下获得探测器的量子效率.文中给出两种方案,分别适  相似文献

We present an optical frequency divider based on a 200 MHz repetition rate Er:fiber mode-locked laser that, when locked to a stable optical frequency reference, generates microwave signals with absolute phase noise that is equal to or better than cryogenic microwave oscillators. At 1 Hz offset from a 10 GHz carrier, the phase noise is below -100 dBc/Hz, limited by the optical reference. For offset frequencies >10 kHz, the phase noise is shot noise limited at -145 dBc/Hz. An analysis of the contribution of the residual noise from the Er:fiber optical frequency divider is also presented.  相似文献
