Summary New potential tetradentate ligands, N-benzoyl-N-thiobenzohydrazide (H2BTBH) and N-salicyl-N-thiobenzohydrazide (H2SBTH) have been prepared and characterized. Their complexes with CoII, NiII and ZnII have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and u.v.-vis., i.r. and 1H-n.m.r. spectral studies. The bonding and stereochemistries of the complexes are discussed. H2BTBH, H2SBTH and the complexes have been screened towards a number of bacteria.  相似文献

The tripodal tetraamine ligand N{(CH2)3NH2}{(CH2)2NH2}2 (pee), has been investigated as an asymmetrical tetraamine chelating agent for CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII and CdII. The protonation constants for this ligand and the formation constants for its complexes have been determined potentiometrically in 0.1 M KCl at 25 °C. The successive protonation constants (log K n ) are: 10.22, 9.51, 8.78 and 1.60 (n = 1–4). One complex with formula M(pee)2+ (M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and Cd) is common to all five metal ions and the formation constant (log ML) is: 12.15, 14.17, 16.55, 13.35 or 9.74, respectively. In addition to the simple complexes, CoII, CuII and ZnII also give hydroxo complexes, and CuII and NiII give complexes with monoprotonated pee. [Zn(pee)](ClO4)2 and [Cd(pee)Cl](ClO4) complexes were isolated and are believed to have tetrahedral and trigonal-bipyramidal structures, respectively.  相似文献

Decamethyl-3,3′-bis(dipyrrolylmethene) dihydrobromide H2L · 2HBr (H2L is bis(3,4,7,8,9-pentamethylpyrrol-3-yl)methane), which is the simplest representative of a novel class of oligo(dipyrrolylmethenes) belonging to chromophore chelating nonmacrocyclic ligands, were examined by 1H NMR, IR, and electronic absorption spectroscopy. Complexation reactions of H2L · 2HBr with M(AcO)2 (M = Zn(II), Cu(II), and Co(II)) in DMF at 298.15 K were monitored by electronic absorption spectroscopy and studied by the molar ratio method. The thermodynamic constants K 0 of these reactions were estimated. The d metal ions coordinate H2L to give the binuclear homoleptic complexes [M2L2]. The reactions proceed through the intermediate binuclear heteroleptic complex [M2L(AcO)2] detected by spectroscopic methods. The thermodynamic stabilities of [M2L2] and [M2L(AcO)2] increase when moving from Cu(II) to Zn(II) and Co(II). The probability of formation and stability of [M2L2] containing 3,3′-bis(dipyrrolylmethene) are substantially higher than those of analogous complexes with the 2,2′-isomer (decamethyl-2,2′-biladienea, c). The low K 0 values for the complexation between H2L and Cu(AcO)2 are due to slow oxidation of the biladiene ligand into a bilatriene with participation of Cu2+ ions.  相似文献

A new potential tetradentate ligand, N-nicotinoyl-N-2-furanthiocarbohydrazide (H2Nfth), and its complexes with VOIV, MnII, FeII,III, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, u.v.–vis, i.r., n.m.r., ES+ and FAB mass spectral data. The room temperature e.s.r spectra of the VOIV and FeIII complexes yield g values, characteristic of octahedral complexes. The Mössbauer spectra of [Fe(HNfth)2] and [Fe2(Nfth)3] at room temperature and at 78 K suggest the presence of high-spin iron(II) and iron(III), respectively. The complexes are electrically insulating at room temperature, however, their conductivities increase as the temperature increases from 333–383 K, with a band gap of 0.46–0.77 eV, indicating their semiconducting behaviour. H2Nfth and its soluble complexes have been screened against several bacteria and fungi.  相似文献

Three new coordination polymers of copper(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II), Cu(H2O)(Dpds)(2-MGA) (I), [Zn(Dpds)(2-MGA)] · 1.25H2O (II) and [Cd(H2O)(Dpds)(2-MGA)] · 0.25H2O (III) (Dpds = 4,4′-dipyridyldisulfide, H2MGA = (RS)-2-methyl glutaric acid), have been synthesized and characteried by X-ray single crystal structure determination. The Cu atoms in I are alternately bridged by Dpds ligands and 2-methylglutarato ligands to generate 1D chain. The resulted chains are assembled via S...S weak interactions into 2D layers, which are through twofold 2D parallel/2D parallel mode inclined interpenetration to induce 3D supramolecular architecture. In II, the ZnN2O2 tetrahedras are bridged by 2-MGA anion and Dpds ligands to form 2D (4,4) networks, which are assembled via hydrogen bonds to 3D supramolecular architecture. The centrosymmetric binuclear units Cd2(2-MGA)2 in III are bridged by Dpds ligands to form 1D repeated rhomboids chains, which are interlinked via S...S weak interactions into 2D layer, and the resulting 2D sheets are inclined parallel into 3D network.  相似文献

A project related to the crystal engineering of hydrogen-bonded coordination complexes has been initiatied and some of our first results are presented here. The compounds [Mn(DMU)6](ClO4)2 (1), [Ni(DMU)6](ClO4)2 (2), [Cu(OClO3)2(DMU)4] (3) and [Zn(DMU)6](ClO4)2 (4) have all been prepared from the reaction of N,N-dimethylurea (DMU) and the appropriate hydrated metal perchlorate salt. Crystal structure determinations of the four compounds demonstrate the existence of [M(DMU)6]2+ cations and ClO4 counterions in (1), (2) and (4), whereas in (3) monodentate coordination of the perchlorate groups leads to molecules. The [M(DMU)6]2+ cations and ClO4 anions self-assemble to form a hydrogen-bonded one-dimensional (1D) architecture in (1) and different 2D hydrogen-bonded networks in (2) and (4). The hydrogen bonding functionalities on the molecules of (3) create a 2D structure. The complexes were also characterised by room-temperature effective magnetic moments and i.r. studies. The data are discussed in terms of the nature of bonding and the known structures.  相似文献

A new ligand, N-phenyl-N -2-furanthiocarbohydrazide (HPhfth), and its complexes with VOIV, MnIII, FeIII, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, i.r., n.m.r., u.v.–vis., mass and FAB mass spectral data. The room temperature e.s.r. spectra of the VOIV, FeIII and CuII complexes yield <g> values characteristic of square pyramidal VOIV, octahedral FeIII and square planar CuII, respectively. The NiII and CuII complexes semiconduct, but the ZnII complex is an insulator at room temperature. However, the conductivity increases as the temperature increases from 303–383 K, with a band gap of 0.21–1.01 eV. HPhfth and its soluble complexes have been screened against several bacteria and fungi.  相似文献

Summary The formation constants of mixed ligand complexes of MII (M = Ni, Zn or Cd) with -alaninehydroxamic acid (-Alaha) as primary ligand (A) and ethylenediamine (en) as secondary ligand (B) have been determined potentiometrically [298 K, = 0.2 (KCl)]. The formation constants for binary systems of -alaninehydroxamic acid and ethylenediamine were determined under identical experimental conditions. The pH-titration data were analysed using the SUPERQUAD computer program. The relative stability of each ternary complex was compared to that of its corresponding binary complex in terms of log X values.  相似文献

Shortly after the experimental verification of two-photon absorption by Kaiser et al.[1] with aCaF2:Eu2+ crystal in 1961, two-photon processes have been used to create a number of chemical or physical processes including optical data storage[2], lithographic fabrication[3], and fluorescence imaging[4]. In fluorescence imaging, two-photon excitation (TPE) has developed as an importantalternative to the traditional one-photon excitation (OPE) in the fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy[5,…  相似文献

Thermodynamics of complexation reactions between Zn(II), Ni(II), Hg(II), Co(II), and Cu(II) acetates and 3,35,5-tetramethyl-4,4-dibutyldipyrrolylmethene in DMF at 298.15 K is studied by calorimetric and spectrophotometric methods. The replacement of Zn2+, Ni2+, and Hg2+ ions by Co2+ and Cu2+ ions was found to increase the equilibrium constants of reactions of complex formation with dipyrrolylmethene by more than two orders of magnitude. The role of solvation interactions in coordination of dipyrrolylmethene by d-metal ions is established.  相似文献

Divalent metal complexes of N,N′-bis(4-imidazolymethyl)etylenediamine (EMI) have been studied using potentiometric and spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis and NMR methods) in aqueous 0.1 mol⋅L−1 KCl supporting electrolyte at 25 °C. Final models and overall stability constants for the complexes of Ca(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Mg(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) have been established by potentiometry for all M(II)–EMI systems, except for Co(II)–EMI. The data revealed that EMI forms ML complexes with all M(II)–EMI systems, which is the dominant species over a wide range of pH except for the Ca(II)–EMI and Mg(II)–EMI systems. Formation of the MnHL complex was also found for Mn(II)–EMI solutions. In addition, the UV-Vis and 1H NMR results allowed us establish the coordination modes for the metal complexes between EMI with Cd(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II).  相似文献

Summary The reactions of manganese(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) acetates (1 mole) with antipyrine-4-azo--ethylcyanoacetate (HL1) and antipyrine-4-azo--acetylacetone (HL2) (1 mole) produce complexes of the M(L)2 type. K2PdCl4 (1 mole) reacts with HL1 and HL2 (1 mole) to yield complexes of the general formula PdLCl, the ligands behaving as monobasic tridentates. The electronic spectral and magnetic data show the complexes to be high-spin octahedral, whereas the palladium(II) complexes are diamagnetic square planar. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, conductance measurements and i.r. and electronic spectra as well as magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermal (t.g.a. and d.t.a.) analysis.Nuclear Material Authority.  相似文献

The DNA-binding behaviors of the fluorescein?Cporphyrinatozinc(II) complex Zn(Fl-PPTPP) (Fl-PPTPP?=?5-(4-fluoresceinpropyloxy)phenyl-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin) and fluorescein?Cporphyrinatocopper(II) complex Cu(Fl-PPTPP) with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) were investigated by UV?CVis absorption titrations, fluorescence spectra, viscosity measurements, thermal denaturation and circular dichroism. The results suggest that both complexes interact with CT-DNA by intercalation. In addition, their photocleavage reactions with pBR322 supercoiled plasmid DNA were investigated. Both complexes exhibit significant DNA cleavage activity, and singlet oxygen may play an important role in these reactions.  相似文献

The synthesis, structure, and spectroscopic signatures of a series of four-coordinate iron(II) complexes of β-ketoiminates and their zinc(II) analogues are presented. An unusual five-coordinate iron(II) triflate with three oxygen bound protonated β-ketoimines is also synthesized and structurally characterized. Single-crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis reveals that the deprotonated bis(chelate)metal complexes are four-coordinate with various degrees of distortion depending on the degree of steric bulk and the electronics of the metal center. Each of the high-spin iron(II) centers exhibits multiple electronic transitions including ligand π to π*, metal-to-ligand charge transfer, and spin-forbidden d-d bands. The (1)H NMR spectra of the paramagnetic high-spin iron(II) centers are assigned on the basis of chemical shifts, longitudinal relaxation times (T(1)), relative integrations, and substitution of the ligands. The electrochemical studies support variations in the ligand strength. Parallel mode EPR measurements for the isopropyl substituted ligand complex of iron(II) show low-field resonances (g > 9.5) indicative of complex aggregation or crystallite formation. No suitable solvent system or glassing mixture was found to remedy this phenomenon. However, the bulkier diisopropylphenyl substituted ligand exhibits an integer spin signal consistent with an isolated iron(ii) center [S = 2; D = -7.1 ± 0.8 cm(-1); E/D = 0.1]. A tentative molecular orbital diagram is assembled.  相似文献

Abstract

Urease catalyzes the decomposition of urea into ammonia, which has harmful effects on both human health and fertile soil. Aiming at exploring novel urease inhibitors, a series of hydrazone compounds and their CoIII, CuII, NiII, and ZnII complexes were prepared from 4-methoxy-N'-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)benzohydrazide (HL). They are [CoClL(NCS)] (1), [CoL2]·Cl·CH3OH·H2O (2), [CuL(NCNCN)]n·nCH3OH (3), [NiL(HL)]·ClO4·CH3OH (4) and [ZnClL(OH2)]·CH3OH (5). The compounds were characterized by physico-chemical methods. Structures of the complexes were further confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The metal ions in 1, 3, and 5 display square pyramidal coordination and 2 and 4 display octahedral coordination. The inhibitory effects of the compounds on Jack bean urease were evaluated. The results showed that 3 has effective urease inhibitory activity, with IC50 value of (7.3?±?1.0) μmol L?1.  相似文献

The series of platinum(II), palladium(II), and nickel(II) complexes [ML2(dppe)] [M = Ni, Pd, Pt; L = 4–SC5H4N or 4–SC6H4OMe; dppe = Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2] containing pyridine-4-thiolate or 4-methoxybenzenethiolate ligands, together with the corresponding gold(I) complexes [AuL(PPh3)], were prepared and their electrospray ionization mass spectrometric behavior compared with that of the thiophenolate complexes [M(SPh)2(dppe)] (M = Ni, Pd, Pt) and [Au(SPh)(PPh3)]. While the pyridine-4-thiolate complexes yielded protonated ions of the type [M + H]+ and [M + 2H]2+ ions in the Ni, Pd, and Pt complexes, an [M + H]+ ion was only observed for the platinum derivative of 4-methoxybenzenethiolate. Other ions, which dominated the spectra of the thiophenolate complexes, were formed by thiolate loss and aggregate formation. The X-ray crystal structure of [Pt(SC6H4OMe–4)2(dppe)] is also reported.  相似文献

Benzyl(4-methoxyphenyl)dithiophosphinic acid (HL) was obtained as solid and was treated with the NiCl26H2O, CoCl26H2O, ZnCl2, and CdCl2 to prepare its Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) complexes. The nickel complex was further treated with pyridine which led to the formation of octahedral dipyridine derivative. HL was obtained through the addition reaction of the perthiophosphonic acid anhydride Lawesson reagent, (LR), [2,4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disulfide], with the corresponding Grignard compound (benzylmagnesium bromide) in diethyl ether medium.

The complexes were all of the stoichiometry of [M(L)2]x, with x = 1 for M = Ni2+ and x = 2 for M = Co2+, Cd2+ and Zn2+. The coordination geometry was square planar in the nickel(II) complex and tetrahedral in the others. Similar to many other nickel(II) complexes, the Ni(L)2 reacts reversibly with pyridine to yield the octahedral complex ({(Py)2Ni(L)2}).

The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis; MS, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopies. The magnetic susceptibilities of the complexes were measured to confirm the hybridization patterns and the geometries. Single-crystal X-ray analyses of Ni(L)2 and [Co(L)2]2 complexes were also carried out to prove the molecular topologies.  相似文献

Experiments conducted in the gas phase have led to the formation of a series of stable gold(II) complexes with nitrogen- and oxygen-containing ligands. Such complexes are very rare in condensed-phase chemistry. However, there is also a significant group of potential ligands, for example, H2O and NH3, for which stable complexes could not be formed. There are strong similarities between these observations and earlier results presented for silver(II), but both metal ions behave markedly different from copper(II). As a group the majority of successful gold(II) ligands are characterized by being good sigma donor-pi acceptor molecules; however, it is also possible to understand the ability of individual ligands to stabilize the metal ion in terms of a simple electrostatic model. Application of the latter reveals a semiquantitative trend between the physical properties of a ligand, e.g. ionization energy, dipole moment, and polarizability, and the ligand's ability to stabilize either Cu(II), Ag(II), or Au(II). The model successfully accounts for the preference of Cu(II) for aqueous chemistry, in comparison to the complete absence of such behavior on the part of Ag(II) and Au(II). Ligands from recent examples of stable condensed-phase gold(II) complexes appear to meet at least one of the criteria identified from the model.  相似文献

The coordination in aqueous solution of 4-chloro-1,2-phenylenediamine-N',N',N',N'-tetraacetic acid (4-Cl-o-PDTA) with Be(II) and with the transition metal cations cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) was reported in earlier publications.1,2 In this note a study is presented of the coordination in aqueous solution (25°C, 1 = 0.1 M in KC1) of 4-CI-o-PDTA acid with magnesium(II), calcium(II), strontium(II), barium(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II).  相似文献

The thermodynamics of vaporization of Ni(saloph), Cu(saloph), Zn(saloph), and Zn(salen) complexes are studied by Knudsen effusion method with mass spectrometric control of the vapor composition. It is noted that in the mass spectra of Zn(saloph) and Zn(salen), there are low-intensity peaks corresponding to ions of dimer. The effect of the nature of a metal and a ligand on the behavior of fragmentation of the complexes during their ionization with electrons is discussed. The enthalpies of sublimation, ΔH s (T), are calculated by second law of thermodynamics: Ni(saloph) (502–578 K), 163 ± 1 kJ/mol; Cu(saloph) (475–550 K), 162 ± 1 kJ/mol; Zn(saloph) (571–637 K), 176 ± 4 kJ/mol; Zn(salen) (568–634 K), 169 ± 2 kJ/mol.  相似文献
