The effect of the large power depletion of the fundamental wave in the phase-matched polarization on the stability of the second-harmonic wave output from an intracavity frequency-doubled ring laser is discussed. It has been demonstrated that the instability resulting from the unbalanced power depletion of the fundamental waves can be eliminated by using a wedge laser rod. The function dependence of the wedge angle and the laser power is concluded. An intracavity frequency-doubled ring laser with a wedge Nd:YVO4 laser crystal and a LBO doubler is designed and built. Comparing with similar lasers but without using the wedge laser crystal, the frequency-conversion efficiency, the power stability and the polarization purity of the second-harmonic wave output from the laser with a wedge laser rod are significantly improved. The single-frequency green laser of 6.5 W at 532 nm, with the polarization degree more than 500:1 and the power stability better than ±0.3% for 3 h, was experimentally achieved.  相似文献

High-power continuous-wave laser operation was demonstrated with a y-cut Yb:YCa(4)O(BO(3))(3) crystal, showing critical dependence on the output coupler used. Polarized laser oscillation with E||x was obtained at 1085.6 nm by using a coupler of 0.5% transmission, yielding an output power of 7.3 W with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 63%. <正>Theoretical analysis and experimental research on the polarization properties of output light in gyro are carried out to investigate the phenomenon that the amplitude of an output voltage signal is modulated by dither bias in laser gyros consisting of totally reflecting prisms.Taking the effect of prism stress birefringence into account,an analytical formula of the output light intensity in the gyro and the relationship between the polarization parameter and the amplitude modulation of the output signal are obtained and discussed.For the first time,the polarized power value of the output light is adopted as a basis to estimate the output signal amplitude fading extent of laser gyros.Experimental results demonstrate that when the value of polarized power of output light is below 25.5%of that in ideal static case,the standard error is over 0.0337 dBm,and the displacement extent of the prism is higher than 53%of the radius of the beam waist in the gyro cavity,the amplitude modulation extent of gyro output signal can reach up to 16%,which badly influences the measurement accuracy of the laser gyro.Using this polarized power detecting measurement method can repair the gyro immediately during its fabrication process,improve the testing and production efficiency and shorten the product development cycle.  相似文献

We present an all-fiber design for a single polarization Yb-doped fiber laser with all-fiber connections spliced. Single polarization with a high extinction ratio was achieved by the design of a laser cavity consisting of a fiber Bragg grating inscribed on a single-polarization fiber as a high reflective mirror and a piece of end-cleaved single-polarization fiber as an output coupler. The fiber laser operates at 1063.25 nm with an output power of 1.7 W, an optical signal- to-noise ratio of 70 dB and a narrow bandwidth of 54 pm. The laser output has a polarization extinction ratio of 700:1 or 28 dB, and a very stable power output.  相似文献

We report high-power laser operation that was achieved with a-cut and c-cut Yb:LuVO(4) crystals. Up to 8.3 W of pi-polarized output power was generated from an a-cut, 2 mm uncoated crystal with an optical conversion efficiency of 59%. The highest slope efficiency was 80%. Laser oscillation obtained with c-cut crystal was also linearly polarized, with two orthogonal polarization components along [110] and [(-)110] directions. The highest output power achieved was 4.5 W, with an optical conversion efficiency of 33% and a slope efficiency of 40%.  相似文献

We demonstrate a linearly-polarized, ytterbium-doped fiber laser that uses an uncoated, undoped ceramic YAG plate as the output coupler, and the corresponding polarization extinction ratio of laser beam increases with incident pump power and then saturates at larger pump power. For comparison, the output coupler of the fiber laser is replaced by 10% reflectivity plane mirror, while the feature of the polarization of laser output is kept unchanged. The results show that the origin of the pump-dependent and self-started polarization is associated with the intensity-dependent nonlinear birefringence in the gain fiber.  相似文献

进行了全光纤保偏主振荡功率放大型光纤激光器的实验研究. 采用两级级联放大的方式, 利用纤芯为5 μupm 的小芯径双包层保偏光纤, 在最大抽运功率为88 W 时实现了67 W的1083 nm保偏激光输出, 纤芯内的激光功率密度约为3.4 W/μupm2, 光-光转换效率为76%.分析结果表明, 进一步提高抽运功率有望获得更高功率的激光输出.  相似文献

本文在文献[1]的基础上提出了含有椭圆折射率分布介质谐振腔的设计方法。分析了b轴Nd+CrNd:YAP连续激光器中热效应对激光横向场分布,输出偏振方向以及输出功率的影响。考虑了这种影响后,已从φ5.8×111mm的Nd:YAP棒和φ6.4×100mm的Nd+Cr:YAP棒中得到了163W和152W的输出,器件效率分别为2.26%和2.11%,输出激光的退偏度为1/2900 关键词:  相似文献

We demonstrate a cladding-pumped single-mode plane-polarized ytterbium-doped fiber laser generating 633 W of continuous-wave output power at 1.1 microm with 67% slope efficiency and a polarization extinction ratio better than 16 dB. The laser is end pumped through both fiber ends and shows no evidence of roll-over, even at the highest output power, which is limited only by the available pump power.  相似文献

We report on the generation of beams with azimuthal polarization using resonant grating waveguide structures (GWSs) inside an Yb:YAG thin-disk laser (TDL) oscillator. Two different GWS concepts were used to select the polarization of the emitted beam. The first uses the resonant reflection principle, and the second is based on the leaky-mode approach already reported in our previous work. Up to 93 W and 103 W of output power were extracted from a TDL with an optical efficiency, η(oo), of 36.2% and 40.1% using the first and the second approaches, respectively. In both cases, a pure azimuthal polarization and a beam quality factor, M2, of about 2.2 were measured. The design, fabrication, and different experimental results, as well as the laser performances for both GWSs, are discussed in the present Letter.  相似文献

High power continuous wave operation of a diode face-pumped thin Nd:YAG slab laser is reported. A novel pumping geometry for a thin Nd:YAG slab using cylindrical lens duct coupled diode laser stacks is demonstrated. In a close-coupled resonator, a maximum laser output power of 260 W in multimode operation is obtained. This corresponds to a slope efficiency of 34% and an optical-to-optical efficiency of 27%, respectively. In high-brightness operation, a polarized laser output of 70 W has been obtained with a beam quality factor close to 4 in both directions. The polarization contrast ratio is >100. We report on high efficiency resonant doubling to 486 nm using periodically poled KTP. The IR laser source is an FBG stabilized semiconductor laser with a maximum polarization maintaining (PM) fiber coupled output of 840 mW. An output power of 680 mW at 486 nm was obtained from our optimized cavity, giving net efficiency of 81%. Also, we report an 87.5% net efficiency in coupling of this blue light from the servo locked cavity into a single-mode PM fiber. This gives a total of 71% fiber to fiber efficiency. Furthermore, a wall plug efficiency of 21.4% was obtained.  相似文献

In this paper we report linearly polarized high average power passive Q-switched ytterbium-doped photonic crystal fibre laser with a Cr4+:YAG crystal as a saturable absorber. An average output power of 9.4 W with pulse duration of 64 ns and pulse repetition rate of 57.4 kHz with a slope efficiency of 52% was achieved. Measured polarization extinction ratio (PER) of the Q-switched laser output was 10.5 dB.  相似文献

为了获得高功率高效率3 m~5 m中红外激光输出,利用双声光调Q晶体,通过高重复频率驱动调Q同步技术和LD侧面泵浦双棒串接技术,获得高功率高光束质量1.06 m激光双端输出,外置起偏器获得4束激光输出,利用波片偏振旋光原理,实现4束偏振态一致的激光输出,泵浦非线性晶体PPLT进行频率变换,实现高功率3 m~5 m中红外激光输出。在电源输入电流30 A、调Q驱动频率10 kHz的条件下,获得最高功率10.6 W的3.9 m中红外激光,1.06 m~3.9 m转化效率为9.5%。实验结果表明:通过双声光调Q技术和LD侧面泵浦双棒串接技术,可以实现4束高重复频率窄脉宽1.06 m偏振激光输出,泵浦PPLT可获得高功率3.9 m中红外激光输出。  相似文献

光纤激光器系统需要高可靠性、高亮度、高功率光纤耦合输出二极管激光器模块作为泵浦源。基于mini-bar二极管激光器芯片,采用光束精密准直技术、自由空间合束技术来获得高亮度、高功率光纤耦合输出,针对光纤芯径为200μm、数值孔径为0.22的多模光纤,开展了线偏振二极管激光光纤耦合实验,实验结果表明:光纤稳定输出功率达280 W,对应亮度为5.87 MW/(cm2·sr),电-光效率为45.0%。采用偏振合束技术,光纤预期输出功率可达500 W,对应亮度超过10 MW/(cm2·sr)。该方法可应用于研制数百瓦级高亮度二极管激光光纤耦合输出激光器模块。  相似文献

A high-power CW diode-side-pumped Nd:YAP laser with linearly polarization at 1341 nm has been described. The laser characteristics including thermal lens and stability of flat–flat resonator were studied. By comparing the output powers at different resonator lengths and different output couplers, the c-axis polarized laser working at 1341 nm has been obtained with a maximum output power of 121 W at the pumping power of 555 W. The optical–optical efficiency is 21.8% and the optical slope efficiency is 40%. The a-axis polarized laser at 1339 nm has also been successfully obtained when the c-axis polarized laser had become instable with the increase of pumping power.  相似文献

随着半导体激光器在工业、军事、核能等领域的应用越来越多,单个迭阵输出的光功率密度已经不能满足实际的需求,这就需要将多个半导体激光迭阵的光束耦合成为一个共同的光束,以提高输出功率和亮度.所以采用怎样的光束耦合技术能实现高亮度、高质量的激光输出就成了一个关键性的问题.对于该技术的研究,国内还没有实验方面的报道.主要介绍了大功率半导体激光器偏振耦合原理、实验的技术路线,以及对808nm半导体激光迭阵进行耦合实验的结果及分析.对2个bar、功率为40W/bar的808nm连续半导体激光迭阵,实现偏振耦合的总效率超过90%,聚焦得直径为3mm光斑,输出功率达到134W,总体效率超过84%.对7个bar、峰值功率100W/ba、r占空比20%的808nm准连续半导体激光迭阵进行了偏振耦合,其效率达到67%,得到4.5mm×4.5mm的光斑.  相似文献
