Let S ⊂ ℜn+1 be the graph of the function ϕ :[−1, 1] n → ℜ defined by ϕ (x 1 , …, xn) = ∑ j=1 n |xj|αj, with1 1 ≤ … ≤ αn, let σ the Euclidean area measure on S. In this article we study the Lp − Lq boundedness of convolution operators with the singular Borel measure on Rn+1 given by μ (E)=σ (E ∩ S)  相似文献

It is proved that ifX is a connected locally continuumwise connected coanalytic nowhere topologically complete space, then the hyperspace 2 X of all nonempty compact subsets ofX is strongly universal in the class of all coanalytic spaces. Moreover, 2 X is homeomorphic to Π2 ifX is a Baire space, and toQ∖Π1 ifX contains a dense absoluteG δ-setGX such that the intersectionGU is connected for any open connectedUX. (Here Π1, Π1X are the standard subsets of the Hilbert cubeQ absorbing for the classes of analytic and coanalytic spaces, respectively.) Similar results are obtained for higher projective classes. In this paper we consider elliptic equations of order 2m in a bounded domainQ є R n with boundaryδQ and nonlocal conditions relating the traces of the solution and its derivatives on (n − 1)-dimensional smooth manifolds Γ i (∪ i =∂δQ) to their values on some compact setFQ, whereFδQ ≠ Φ. The Fredholm solvability of these problems in the weight spacesV p, a /l+2m (Q) is proved for arbitrary 1<p <∞. Translated fromMatematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 67, No. 6, pp. 882–898, June, 2000. The chaos caused by a strong-mixing preserving transformation is discussed and it is shown that for a topological spaceX satisfying the second axiom of countability and for an outer measurem onX satisfying the conditions: (i) every non-empty open set ofX ism-measurable with positivem-measure; (ii) the restriction ofm on Borel σ-algebra ℬ(X) ofX is a probability measure, and (iii) for everyYX there exists a Borel setB⊂ℬ(X) such thatBY andm(B) =m(Y), iff:XX is a strong-mixing measure-preserving transformation of the probability space (X, ℬ(X),m), and if {m}, is a strictly increasing sequence of positive integers, then there exists a subsetCX withm (C) = 1, finitely chaotic with respect to the sequence {m i}, i.e. for any finite subsetA ofC and for any mapF:AX there is a subsequencer i such that limi→∞ f r i(a) =F(a) for anyaA. Let (A,D(A)) be the infinitesimal generator of a Feller semigroup such that C c (ℝ n )⊂D(A) and A|C c (ℝ n ) is a pseudo-differential operator with symbol −p(x,ξ) satisfying |p(•,ξ)|c(1+|ξ|2) and |Imp(x,ξ)|≤c 0Rep(x,ξ). We show that the associated Feller process {X t } t ≥0 on ℝ n is a semimartingale, even a homogeneous diffusion with jumps (in the sense of [21]), and characterize the limiting behaviour of its trajectories as t→0 and ∞. To this end, we introduce various indices, e.g., β x :={λ>0:lim |ξ|→∞ | x y |≤2/|ξ||p(y,ξ)|/|ξ|λ=0} or δ x :={λ>0:liminf |ξ|→∞ | x y |≤2/|ξ| |ε|≤1|p(y,|ξ|ε)|/|ξ|λ=0}, and obtain a.s. (ℙ x ) that lim t →0 t −1/λ s t |X s x|=0 or ∞ according to λ>β x or λ<δ x . Similar statements hold for the limit inferior and superior, and also for t→∞. Our results extend the constant-coefficient (i.e., Lévy) case considered by W. Pruitt [27]. Received: 21 July 1997 / Revised version: 26 January 1998  相似文献

Let X be a block-rigid almost completely decomposable group of ring type with regulator A and p-primary regulator quotient X/A such that p l = exp X/A with natural l > 1. From the well-known fact p l End A ⊂ End X ⊂ End A it follows that End X = End X ∪ End A and p l End A = End Xp l End A. Generalizing these, we determine the chain End X = ɛ A (l)ɛ A (l−1)ɛ A (l−2) ⊂ ⋯ ⊂ ɛ A (1)ɛ A (0) = End A, satisfying p l−k ɛ A (k) = End Xp l−k End A, and construct groups X k and such that ɛ A (k) = Hom , where k = 1, 2,..., l − 1. __________ Translated from Fundamentalnaya i Prikladnaya Matematika, Vol. 12, No. 2, pp. 17–38, 2006.  相似文献

The asymptotic behavior asn → ∞ of the normed sumsσn =n −1 Σ k =0n−1 Xk for a stationary processX = (X n ,n ∈ ℤ) is studied. For a fixedε > 0, upper estimates for P(sup k≥n k | ≥ε) asn → ∞ are obtained. Translated fromMatematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 64, No. 3, pp. 366–372, September, 1998.  相似文献

Summary LetX be the observed vector of thep-variate (p≧3) normal distribution with mean θ and covariance matrix equal to the identity matrix. Denotey +=max{0,y} for any real numbery. We consider the confidence set estimator of θ of the formC δa,φ={θ:|θ−δa,φ(X)}≦c}, whereδ a,φ=[1−aφ({X})/{X}2]+X is the positive part of the Baranchik (1970,Ann. Math. Statist.,41, 642–645) estimator. We provide conditions on ϕ(•) anda which guarantee thatC δa.φ has higher coverage probability than the usual one, {θ:|θ−X|≦c}. This dominance result will be shown to hold for spherically symmetric distributions, which include the normal distribution,t-distribution and double exponential distribution. The latter result generalizes that of Hwang and Chen (1983,Technical Report, Dept. of Math., Cornell University).  相似文献

Let X and Y be topological spaces such that an arbitrary mapping f: XY for which every preimage f −1 (G) of a set G open in Y is an F σ-set in X can be represented in the form of the pointwise limit of continuous mappings f n : XY. We study the problem of subspaces Z of the space Y for which the mappings f: XZ possess the same property. O. CallS:=(S,·,∩) a d-semigroup ifS satisfies the axioms (A1) (S,·) is a semigroup, (A2) (S,∩) is a semilattice (A3), (S,·,∩) is a semiring, (A4) a ≤b⇒bε aS ∩ Sa. Call tεS positive if ÅaεS: ta ≥a≤at. Let S+ denote the set {t‖t positive}. Every d-semigroup is closed under sup and (s,·,∪) is a semiring, (S, ∩, ∪) is a distributive lattice. Denote by D□X the implication s=Xai⇒x□s□y=X(x□ai□y) where □ε{·,∩,∪} and Xε{∪,∩}. CallS continuous ifS satisfies all D□X. The theory of d-semigroups (divisibility-semigroups) was established in [3], [4], [5], and is continued here by some contributions to the theory of continuous d-semigroups the main results of which are the two propositions: (1) LetS be a d-semigroup with 1. ThenS satisfies D□X iffS + satisfies this axiom. (2) LetS be continuous. Then (S,·) is commutative. Obviously Proposition (2) is an improvement of Iwasawa's theorem concerning conditionally complete lattice ordered groups.

We define and study a class of summable processes, called additive summable processes, that is larger than the class used by Dinculeanu and Brooks [D-B]. We relax the definition of a summable processesX:Ω×ℝ+EL(F, G) by asking for the associated measureI X to have just an additive extension to the predictableσ-algebra ℘, such that each of the measures (I X) z , forz∈(L G p )*, beingσ-additive, rather than having aσ-additive extension. We define a stochastic integral with respect to such a process and we prove several properties of the integral. After that we show that this class of summable processes contains all processesX:Ω×ℝ+EL(F, G) with integrable semivariation ifc 0G.  相似文献

We show that the spectral mapping theorems such as exp(tσ(Z)) ⊂ σ(T t ) and exp( p (Z)) ⊂ tσ p (T t ) ⊂ exp( p (Z)) ⋃ {0} for everyt≥0 hold. LetG be a locally compact second countable abelian group, (X, μ) aσ-finite Lebesgue space, and (g, x) →gx a non-singular, properly ergodic action ofG on (X, μ). Let furthermore Γ be the character group ofG and let Sp(G, X) ⊂ Γ denote theL -spectrum ofG on (X, μ). It has been shown in [5] that Sp(G, X) is a Borel subgroup of Γ and thatσ (Sp(G, X))<1 for every probability measureσ on Γ with lim supg→∞Re (g)<1, where is the Fourier transform ofσ. In this note we prove the following converse: ifσ is a probability measure on Γ with lim supg→∞Re (g)<1 (g)=1 then there exists a non-singular, properly ergodic action ofG on (X, μ) withσ(Sp(G, X))=1.  相似文献

Let ξ,ξ 1,ξ 2,… be positive i.i.d. random variables, S=∑ j=1 a(j)ξ j , where the coefficients a(j)≥0 are such that P(S<∞)=1. We obtain an explicit form of the asymptotics of −ln P(S<x) as x→0 for the following three cases:
(i)  the sequence {a(j)} is regularly varying with exponent −β<−1, and −ln P(ξ<x)=O(x γ+δ ) as x→0 for some δ>0, where γ=1/(β−1),
(ii)  −ln P(ξ<x) is regularly varying with exponent −γ<0 as x→0, and a(j)=O(j βδ ) as j→∞ for some δ>0, where γ=1/(β−1),
(iii)  {a(j)} decreases faster than any power of j, and P(ξ<x) is regularly varying with positive exponent as x→0.

LetI be a σ-ideal on a Polish space such that each set fromI is contained in a Borel set fromI. We say thatI fails to fulfil theΣ 1 1 countable chain condition if there is aΣ 1 1 equivalence relation with uncountably many equivalence classes none of which is inI. Assuming definable determinacy, we show that if the family of Borel sets fromI is definable in the codes of Borel sets, then eachΣ 1 1 set is equal to a Borel set modulo a set fromI iffI fulfils theΣ 1 1 countable chain condition. Further we characterize the σ-idealsI generated by closed sets that satisfy the countable chain condition or, equivalently in this case, the approximation property forΣ 1 1 sets mentioned above. It turns out that they are exactly of the formMGR(F)={A : ∀FF AF is meager inF} for a countable family F of closed sets. In particular, we verify partially a conjecture of Kunen by showing that the σ-ideal of meager sets is the unique σ-ideal onR, or any Polish group, generated by closed sets which is invariant under translations and satisfies the countable chain condition. LetY andZ be two closed subspaces of a Banach spaceX such thatY≠lcub;0rcub; andY+Z=X. Then, ifZ is weakly countably determined, there exists a continuous projectionT inX such that ∥T∥=1,T(X)⊃Y, T −1(0)⊂Z and densT(X)=densY. It follows that every Banach spaceX is the topological direct sum of two subspacesX 1 andX 2 such thatX 1 is reflexive and densX 2**=densX**/X.  相似文献

Suppose X and Y are Polish spaces with non-atomic Borel probability measures μ and ν and suppose that T and S are ergodic measure-preserving homeomorphisms of (X, μ) and (Y, ν). Then there are invariant G δ subsets X′ ⊂ X and Y′ ⊂ Y of full measure and a homeomorphism ϕ: X′ → Y′ which maps μ|X′ to ν|Y′ and maps T-orbits onto S-orbits. We also deal with the case where T and S preserve infinite invariant measures.  相似文献

Let (X,A) be a measureable space andT:XX a measurable mapping. Consider a family ℳ of probability measures onA which satisfies certain closure conditions. IfA 0A is a convergence class for ℳ such that, for everyAA 0, the sequence ((1/n) Σ i =0/n−1 1 A T i) converges in distribution (with respect to some probability measurev ∈ ℳ), then there exists aT-invariant element in ℳ. In particular, for the special case of a topological spaceX and a continuous mappingT, sufficient conditions for the existence ofT-invariant Borel probability measures with additional regularity properties are obtained.  相似文献

Letp>1 be prime, and letYX=(ℤ/pℤ) 2) be an infinite, closed, shift-invariant subgroup with the following properties: the restriction toY of the shift-actionσ of ℤ2 onX is mixing with respect to the Haar measureλ Y ofY, and every closed, shift-invariant subgroupZY is finite. We prove that every sufficiently mixing, non-atomic, shift-invariant probability measureμ onY is equal toλ Y . Let M(N) be a sequence of integers with M→∞ as N→∞ and M=o(N). For bounded i.i.d. r.v. ξ i k and bounded i.i.d. r.v. σ i , we study the large deviation of the family of (ordered) scalar products X k =N −1 i =1 N σ i ξ i k ,kM, under the distribution conditioned on the ξ i k 's. To get a full large deviation principle, it is necessary to specify also the total norm(∑ k M (X k )2)1/2, which turns to be associated with some extra Gaussian distribution. Our results apply to disordered, mean-field systems, including generalized Hopfield models in the regime of a sublinear number of patterns. We build also a class of examples where this norm is the crucial order parameter. Received: 6 April 1999 / Revised version: 29 May 2000 /?Published online: 24 July 2001  相似文献
