Powder and single-crystal samples of the high-temperature superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 + x are studied by X-ray diffraction. Its thermal expansion coefficient is found to be negative over a wide temperature range (160–260 K). Possible causes of this effect are discussed.  相似文献

Low-field magnetizationM(H) measurements can be used to probe the nature of the screening currents and the interlayer coupling in high-T c cuprates. Here we compare theM(H) behaviour of single crystals of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 and fully oxygenated and oxygen reduced YBa2Cu3O7??. In YBa2Cu3O7, theM(H) behaviour is consistent with anisotropic 3D superconductivity whilst in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8, the surface screening currents are strongly affected by the presence of vortices, implying that the CuO2 planes are coupled via a weak Josephson interaction. In oxygen-deficient YBa2Cu3O6.7 (T c =63K), theM(H) behaviour at low temperatures is similar to that found for Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8, implying that the removal of oxygen from the chains has resulted in a dimensional crossover of the superconducting state in YBa2Cu3O7??. As the temperature approachesT c , the 3D behaviour is eventually restored as thec-axis coherence length ξ c becomes comparable with the interlayer spacingd.  相似文献

High-frequency losses in the strongly anisotropic layered superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 are measured at 600 MHz under a magnetic field rocking about the ab plane. Anomalies in losses and hysteretic phenomena are found while performing periodic rocking, i.e., cycling the magnetic field component normal to the sample surface. Based on these observations, conclusions are drawn about the nature of magnetic-flux penetration into the superconductor. It is found that, in the range between 60 K and T c , the dynamics of magnetic-flux vortex lines normal to the ab plane in the presence of a constant magnetic field applied parallel to this plane is governed by the critical penetration field H c ⊥* and the surface barrier in the presence of thermally activated vortex motion (giant flux creep). The dependences of H c1 ⊥* and the characteristic field of the surface barrier on the magnitude of the parallel magnetic field are measured.  相似文献

Single-crystal samples of the Bi2 + xSr2 ? x ? yCu1 + yO6 + δ system revealed anomalous (negative) thermal expansion in the temperature range 10–20 K. Magnetic fields of 1–3 T were found to strongly affect the position and width of the anomaly region. A thermal-expansion singularity was detected at temperatures T≈30–50 K, which may be related to the formation of a pseudogap.  相似文献

Topological superconductivity is the quantum condensate of paired electrons with an odd parity of the pairing function. By using a Corbino-shape like electrode configuration, we measure the c-axis resistivity of the recently discovered superconductor Sr x Bi2Se3 with the magnetic field rotating within the basal planes, and find clear evidence of two-fold superconductivity. The Laue diffraction measurements on these samples show that the maximum gap direction is either parallel or perpendicular to the main crystallographic axis. This observation is consistent with the theoretical prediction and strongly suggests that Sr x Bi2Se3 is a topological superconductor.  相似文献

Recently we developed a technique of ozone/vacuum annealing to continuously change the doping level of the surface of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x and measured a nearly whole superconducting dome on one surface by in-situ angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy [arXiv: 1805.06450]. Here we study the evolution of the electronic structures of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x using this technique together with tight binding fits. The tight binding parameters are extracted to study their evolution with doping.  相似文献

We report X-ray diffraction, magnetization and transport measurements for polycrystalline samples of the new layered superconductor Bi4?x Ag x O4S3(0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2). The superconducting transition temperature (T C) decreases gradually and finally suppressed when x < 0.10. Accordingly, the resistivity changes from a metallic behavior for x < 0.1 to a semiconductor-like behavior for x > 0.1. The analysis of Seebeck coefficient shows there are two types of electron-like carriers dominate at different temperature regions, indicative of a multiband effect responsible for the transport properties. The suppression of superconductivity and the increased resistivity can be attributed to a shift of the Fermi level to the lower-energy side upon doping, which reduces the density of states at E F. Further, our result indicates the superconductivity in Bi4O4S3 is intrinsic and the dopant Ag prefers to enter the BiS2 layers, which may essentially modify the electronic structure.  相似文献

The temperature-dependent field cooling (FC) and zero-field cooling (ZFC) magnetizations, i.e., M FC and M ZFC, measured under different magnetic fields from 500 Oe to 20 kOe have been investigated on two exchange–spring CoFe2O4/CoFe2 composites with different relative content of CoFe2. Two samples exhibit different magnetization reversal behaviors. With decreasing temperature, a progressive freezing of the moments in two composites occurs at a field-dependent irreversible temperature T irr. For the sample with less CoFe2, the curves of ?d(M FC ? M ZFC)/dT versus temperature T exhibit a broad peak at an intermediate temperature T 2 below T irr , and the moments are suggested not to fully freeze till the lowest measuring temperature 10 K. However, for the ?d(M FC ? M ZFC)/dT curves of the sample with more CoFe2, besides a broad peat at an intermediate temperature T 2, a rapid rise around the low temperature T 1~15 K is observed, below which the moments are suggested to fully freeze. Increase of magnetic field from 2 kOe leads to the shift of T 2 and T irr towards a lower temperature, and the shift of T 2 is attributable to the moment reversal of CoFe2O4.
Graphical abstract CoFe2O4/CoFe2 composites with different relative content of CoFe2 were prepared by reducing CoFe2O4 in H2 for 4 h (S4H) and 8 h (S8H). The temperature-dependent FC and ZFC magnetizations, i.e., M FC and M ZFC, under different magnetic fields from 500 Oe to 20 kOe have been investigated. Increase of magnetic field from 2 kOe leads to the shift of T 2 and T irr towards a lower temperature, and the shift of T 2 is attributable to the moment reversal of CoFe2O4.

Static magnetic susceptibility χ(T) in the normal state (Tc ≤ T ≤ 400 K) and specific heat C(T) near temperature Tc of the transition to the superconducting state are experimentally studied for a series of fine crystalline samples of high-temperature YBa2Cu3Oy superconductor, having y and Tc close to optimal but differing in the degree of nanoscale structural disordering. It is shown that under the influence of structural disordering, there is enhancement of anomalous pseudogap behavior of the studied characteristics and a significant increase in the width of the pseudogap.  相似文献

The crystal structure and magnetic properties of the Bi1 ? x Ca x Fe1 ? x/2Nb x/2O3 system were studied. It is shown that, at x ≤ 0.15, the unit-cell symmetry of solid solutions is rhombohedral (space group R3c). Solid solutions with x ≥ 0.3 have an orthorhombic unit cell (space group Pbnm). The rhombohedral compositions are antiferromagnetic, while the orthorhombic compositions exhibit a small spontaneous magnetization due to Dzyaloshinski?-Moriya interaction. In CaFe0.5Nb0.5O3, the Fe3+ and Nb5+ ions are partially ordered and the unit cell is monoclinic (space group P21/n). In the concentration range 0.15 < x < 0.30, a two-phase state (R3c + Pbnm) is revealed.  相似文献

The magnetic superconductorRu0.9Sr2YCu2.1O7.9 (Ru-1212Y) has beeninvestigated using neutron diffraction under variable temperature and magnetic field. Withthe complementary information from magnetization measurements, we propose a magnetic phasediagram T-H for the Ru-1212 system. Uniaxialantiferromagnetic (AFM) order of 1.2μ B /Ruatoms with moments parallel to the c-axis is found below the magnetictransition temperature at  ~140 K in the absence of magnetic field. In addition,ferromagnetism (FM) in the ab-plane develops below  ~120 K, butis suppressed at lower temperature by superconducting correlations. Externally appliedmagnetic fields cause Ru-moments to realign from the c-axis to theab-plane, i.e. along the ?1,1,0? direction, and induce ferromagnetismin the plane with  ~1μ B at 60 kOe.These observations of the weak ferromagnetism suppressed by superconductivity and thefield-induced metamagnetic transition between AFM and FM demonstrate not only competingorders of superconductivity and magnetism, but also suggest a certain vortex dynamicscontributing to these magnetic transitions.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the velocity of longitudinal sound waves and the internal friction in a La0.82Ca0.18MnO3 single crystal with the Curie temperature T C = 181 K have been studied. As temperature decreases, the single crystal is shown to undergo the transition from the pseudocubic O* to the Jahn–Teller O’ phase at T ~ 254 K and the reverse transition from O’ to O* phase at T ~ 84 K. The velocity of sound and the internal friction in the O’ phase are found to be significantly smaller than those in the O* phase.  相似文献

The results of the ab initio FLAPW-GGA computations of the band structure of the recently synthesized layered tetragonal (space group I4/mmm) arsenide (Sr3Sc2O5)Fe2As2 as a possible basis phase of a new group of FeAs superconductors are presented. For (Sr3Sc2O5)Fe2As2, the energy bands, electron state density distributions, Fermi surface topology, low-temperature electron specific heat, molar Pauli paramagnetic susceptibility, and effective atomic charges have been determined. These results are discussed compared to similar data for the layered tetragonal crystals LaFeAsO, SrFeAsF, SrFe2As2, and LiFeAs that are the basis phases of the recently discovered high-temperature (T C ~ 26–56 K) 《1111》, 《122》, and 《111》 FeAs superconductors.  相似文献

Superconductivity was achieved in Ti-doped iron-arsenide compound Sr4Cr0.8Ti1.2O6Fe2As2 (abbreviated as Cr-FeAs-42622). The X-ray diffraction measurement shows that this material has a layered structure with the space group of P4/nmm, and with the lattice constants a = b = 3.9003 Å and c = 15.8376 Å. Clear diamagnetic signals in ac susceptibility data and zero-resistance in resistivity data were detected at about 6 K, confirming the occurrence of bulk superconductivity. Meanwhile we observed a superconducting transition in the resistive data with the onset transition temperature at 29.2 K, which may be induced by the nonuniform distribution of the Cr/Ti content in the FeAs-42622 phase.  相似文献

A comparative analysis of the results of the X-ray and Mösbauer studies of the high-temperature superconductor (HTSC) YBa2Cu3O y and YBa2Cu3 ? x 57Fe x O y (x = 0.015, T c ≈ 91.5 K) samples with different average grain sizes <D> in the micron and submicron ranges has been performed. The regularities in the change in the lattice parameter c and in the degree of occupation of different oxygen sites in the CuOδ chain planes taking place at the decrease in <D> have been studied. The quantitative interrelation between the parameter c and the oxygen content δ in the CuOδ planes exceeding the amount of the mobile oxygen due to the interplane oxygen redistribution is established.  相似文献

Charge ordering in a layered manganite La1.2Sr1.8Mn2O7 crystal with structural domains was studied using neutron diffraction in the temperature range 175–700 K. The wave vector of the charge ordering in the crystal is found to be q ? {0.2, 0, 0}2π/a. It is argued that the actual domain structure of the anisotropic crystal affects its charge-ordering state.  相似文献

Polarization-optical study of twinning and measurements of the Raman spectra and birefringence in oxyfluoride (NH4)3Ti(O2)F5 were carried out over the temperature range 90–350 K. Phase transitions were detected at temperatures T 01 = 266 K (second-order transition) and T 02 = 225 K (first order). It is assumed that the crystal symmetry is changed as follows: Fm3m ? I4/mmm ? I4/m. Anomalies of the spectral parameters are established in the frequency range of internal vibrations of ammonium ions and Ti(O2)F5 complexes. An analysis of the results shows that the transition at T 01 is likely due to small shifts of the tetrahedral groups from their position on the triad axis and that the transition at T 02 is due to fluorine-oxygen ordering of Ti(O2)F5 complexes.  相似文献

The anisotropy of the components of the complex permittivity of vanadate Co3V2O8 and Co3V2O8 single crystals in the paramagnetic phase are studied by optical ellipsometry in the spectral region 0.5–5.0 eV. Our experimental results support the weak anisotropy of the optical response detected earlier for axes a and c. The optical properties are also investigated along axis b. The properties of both compounds are compared. The optical spectra of both compounds along axis b are shifted toward low energies as compared to axes a and c. The maximum of the main interband absorption band of Co3V2O8 is shifted toward low energies by 0.25–0.3 eV as compared to Co3V2O8. The electronic structure parameters of both compounds are determined. Optical function spectra are analyzed using the results of ab initio band calculations.  相似文献

The EPR spectra of Cu2+ ions (2 D 5/2) located at two structurally nonequivalent positions Cu1 and Cu2 in crystals of lithium heptagermanate Li2Ge7O15 are recorded. The angular dependences of the EPR spectrum are measured in the paraelectric phase of the Li2Ge7O15 compound (T = 300 K). The components of the g factor and the hyperfine interaction tensor A are determined, and the orientation of the magnetic axes with respect to the crystallographic basis is established. The EPR spectra are recorded in the temperature range in the vicinity of the temperature T C = 283 K of the transition from the paraelectric phase to the ferroelectric phase. The position symmetry of the Cu1 and Cu2 centers is determined at temperatures above and below the phase transition temperature T C . The localization of paramagnetic centers in the structure is discussed, An analysis of the results obtained demonstrates that the Cu1 and Cu2 centers in the Li2Ge7O15 crystal lattice replace lithium ions located at two structurally nonequivalent positions with the symmetries described at temperatures above T C by the triclinic C i and monoclinic C 2 point groups, respectively.  相似文献

The spins of Ru5+ ions in Sr2YRuO6 form a face-centered cubic lattice with antiferromagnetic nearest neighbor interaction J≈25 meV. The antiferromagnetic structure of the first type experimentally observed below the Néel temperature T N =26 K corresponds to four frustrated spins of 12 nearest neighbors. In the Heisenberg model in the spin-wave approximation, the frustrations already cause instability of the antiferromagnetic state at T=0 K. This state is stabilized by weak anisotropy D or exchange interaction I with the next-nearest neighbors. Low D/JI/J~10?3 values correspond to the experimental T N and sublattice magnetic moment values.  相似文献
