偏振模色散效应严重制约着长距离高速光纤通信的发展,偏振模色散的自适应补偿成为光通信领域研究的焦点。利用两阶段偏振模色散补偿器,采用6个自由度的粒子群优化算法(PSO),通过在线监测搜索光纤链路信号的偏振度极值作为反馈控制信息,在40Gb/s归零码高速光纤传输链路中成功实现了ms量级的偏振模色散自适应补偿。补偿前后采用庞加莱球法测量光纤链路中偏振模色散量,测量结果表明在信号中心波长1560.5nm处,差分群时延补偿前后测量值分别为21ps和1.3ps,而二阶偏振模色散补偿前后测量值分别为266ps^2和43.5ps^2。补偿后实验链路中的一阶和二阶的偏振模色散同时得到不同程度的补偿,并且系统的总的功率代价在误码率为10^-9时小于1dB。  相似文献

在10Gb/s,尤其是40Gb/s以上高速光纤通信系统中,光纤的偏振特性已成为限制系统传输距离的主要因素之一。光纤的偏振效应主要包括偏振模色散和偏振依赖损耗。而脉冲均方根展宽是判断信号传输性能的一个主要物理量。本文讨论了光纤线路偏振模色散与偏振相关损耗的相互作用及对信号脉宽的影响。给出了线路偏振模色散矢量和偏振相关损耗矢量之间的关系式,并基于严格的数学方法,导出了在光纤偏振模色散和偏振相关损耗共同作用下的信号均方根脉宽变化的解析形式,同时考虑了光纤色散,啁啾等。该模型可用于分析高阶偏振模色散和偏振相关损耗,任意线性光纤通信系统脉冲展宽分析。  相似文献

We have developed laser printer optics using various kinds of multiple beam generation devices, such as a polarization prism, grating, diode laser array, and optical fiber array. Recently we successfully demonstrated laser-print experiments using five beams from an optical fiber array. In the array, fibers are arranged with a spacing of 0.15 mm and emit circular Gaussian beams that have a diameter of 5 μm and a wavelength of 635 nm. The wavelength of diode lasers is determined from sensitivity of the photoconductor drum of As2Se3 material. The arrangement error vertical to the array is mostly suppressed below 0.4 μm. In the optics, curve of scan lines and print position errors in the scan direction are suppressed to a negligible size due to minimization of the magnification variation in the sub-scan direction along the print width and achromatized design, respectively.This paper was originally presented at the 2nd International Conference on Optical Design and Fabrication, ODF2000 which was held on November 15-17, 2000 at the International Conference Center, Tokyo, Waseda University, Japan.  相似文献

利用非等温等离子体化学气相沉积 (PCVD)工艺制备了一种适合于大容量高速率长途干线网与城域网的中芯下陷型纤芯结构非零色散位移光纤。该光纤的有效面积大于 95 μm2 ,在 15 5 0nm波段的色散值约为9ps/(nm·km) ,有效的抑制了传输过程中光非线性效应的产生。通过对光纤剖面结构的优化设计 ,光纤的 15 5 0nm处的传输损耗降到约 0 .2 1dB/km ,与传统单模光纤的熔接损耗低于 0 .11dB ,且在直径为 6 0mm圆筒上绕 10 0圈后在 14 6 0nm到 16 2 5nm波长范围所引起的附加弯曲损耗均低于 0 .0 2dB/km。同时 ,该光纤色散斜率低于0 .0 6 5 ps/(nm2 ·km) ,偏振模色散 (PMD)小于 0 .0 5 ps·km-1/2 。此外 ,由于光纤的零色散点移到了 14 30nm以下 ,使波分复用 (WDM)传输在S波段 (14 6 0~ 15 30nm)、C波段 (15 30~ 15 6 5nm)、L(15 6 5~ 16 2 5nm)波段上都兼容。  相似文献

The variation of polarization mode dispersion (PMD) with V-parameter in single mode optical fibers due to core-ellipticity is studied by performing numerical simulations taking into account both geometrical and thermal-stress-induced birefringences as well as the variation of fiber refractive indices with wavelength. Simple empirical relations are given for calculating the mean PMD for any value of core-ellipticity and V-parameter of a standard single mode fiber. It is observed that the mean PMD saturates for V ? 1.8 leading to very small second order PMD.  相似文献

Notably improved performance as well as extended application areas is expected in the technology of optical fiber sensors using infrared fibers that transmit radiation in a wavelength range beyond 2 μm. Measurement of infrared radiation is particularly important in thermometry and spectrometry. In these areas, the use of infrared fibers has been studied extensively not only as a transmission waveguide but also as a sensor chip. Of various infrared fibers, fluoride glass fibers exhibit the lowest transmission loss and hence are useful for remote sensing that requires light transmission over a long distance. The wide transmission range of chalcogenide glass fibers and halide crystalline fibers is valuable for thermometry in a low temperature range and for spectrometry of various molecules. Hollow waveguides are useful as a capillary flow cell that realizes fast-response spectrometry. The advantages and disadvantages of infrared fibers must be considered carefully in the development of fiber sensors. In this paper, the progress of infrared optical fiber sensors is reviewed with particular interest in thermometry and spectroscopy.  相似文献

通过对光栅制作过程的优化设计,解决了光纤光栅温度稳定性、纹波系数、带宽、偏振模色 散补偿等关键技术,所制作光纤光栅已经达到温度系数小于00005 nm/℃,带宽大于14 nm,纹波系数小于50 ps,色散量超过 -1000 ps/nm的先进水平. 采用琼斯矩阵本征值法较 精确地测量了光栅的偏振模色散,并对其进行了补偿,光纤光栅色散补偿器的偏振模色散由 补偿前的91406 ps改善为补偿后的01521 ps. 在此基础上,成功地建立了一个稳定可靠 、速率为40 Gb/s,传输链路为122 km G 关键词: 高速光通信系统 普通单模光纤 光纤光栅 色散补偿  相似文献

光纤到户对光纤在小弯曲半径条件下的衰减特性提出了更高的要求。微结构光纤可以实现极小弯曲半径的低衰减光信号传输,是小弯曲半径单模光纤技术解决方案的有力竞争者。设计了一种新的微结构光纤,并研制出光纤样品。这种结构的光纤具有非常优良的弯曲特性。其最小弯曲半径可达2mm,1 550nm附加损耗小于0.1dB,并且具有优良的偏振模色散特性,熔接损耗也非常小,其与G.652D单模光纤的熔接损耗为0.12dB。这些特性使其在光纤到户的复杂应用环境中具有明显的应用优势。  相似文献

This article presents a new approach to the combined analysis of the first and second-order polarization mode dispersion (SOPMD) and shows their importance in optical communication systems performance. How it affects the relation between second-order polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and the differential group delay (DGD) in a single mode fiber is discussed. The analysis is based on time or wavelength and temperature variations changing/impacting PMD and DGD measured values. We present long term statistical characteristics of second-order PMD over a PMD emulator, and investigate the correlation between SOPMD, depolarization (DEP) and polarization dependent chromatic dispersion (PCD). Some authors calculate these modes from measurements obtained from the first order polarization mode dispersion, assuming a positive correlation between these effects, but this not the real relationship between them. A new interpretation of SOPMD was used to analyze the problem of the spectral stability in terms of the temperature. Actual techniques for determination SOPMD, consequently DEP and PCD, use the variation in time and/or wavelength. In some studies the results obtained for SOPMD are correlated to first-order PMD (FOPMD). This paper shows, based on measurements, that the correlation between first and second order Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) in the case where the last one is a function of the temperature can assume positive or negative values.  相似文献

Abstract

We review the research progress concerning some fundamental issues related to polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) in high-speed fiber-optic transmission systems. We pay particular attention to issues such as the PMD-induced pulse broadening, PMD measurement and emulation, as well as PMD compensation. An electrical equalization technique based on a transversal filter and an optical technique based on a nonlinear chirped fiber Bragg gratings for PMD compensation will be discussed.  相似文献

为了评估随机变化的偏振模色散(PMD)(包括一阶和二阶PMD)使系统信号裂化的程度,降低其对高速光纤通信系统传输速率和传输容量的不利影响,在斯托克斯空间中推导了偏振模色散(PMD)矢量的数学表达式。对PMD效应所导致的脉冲展宽进行了数学分析,给出了差分群时延(DGD)的变化、一阶PMD矢量和二阶PMD矢量方向的变化对脉冲展宽的影响。通过数学推导得出,在大多数情况下,二阶PMD无法完全补偿,需通过控制单元的调整使其对系统的影响达到极小值。通过实验分析,得到了和数学推导中同样的结果,从而证明了模型的正确性。  相似文献

A diagnostic system using short-wavelength far-infrared (FIR) lasers (40–70 m in wavelength) is now being developed for high density and large volume plasmas. In the wavelength region, a CVD-diamond is the excellent materials for optical windows of the laser and the plasma vessel and beam splitters of a multichannel interferometer. To design these optical elements, the optical constants (refractive index n, absorption coefficient and transmissivity T) of the CVD-diamond have been measured precisely by using FIR lasers of 48-, 57- and 71-m in wavelength. As an example, the result for 57.1511 m light is n = 2.383(1) ± 0.002, = 0.19 ± 0.05 cm-1 and T = 97.5 ± 1.5% at 1.023 mm in thickness.  相似文献

A procedure for evaluating system performance considering all orders of polarization mode dispersion (PMD) is presented. The method provides engineering rules for computing system penalty introduced by PMD. Computer simulation of PMD induced penalty indicates that for generating a realistic system budget, effect of higher order PMD in presence of chromatic dispersion is essential. Considering all of these penalties, in order to obtain a system-reach of 3200 km at 40 Gb/s, a fiber PMD of less than 0.04 ps/km1/2 is required when at the signal wavelength chromatic dispersion is 0. In presence of 18 ps/nm chromatic dispersion for the same system reach this PMD value reduces to about 0.02 ps/km1/2.  相似文献

In this article, a new simplified structure of a highly birefringent chalcogenide As2Se3 glass photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is designed and analyzed by using fully vectorial finite element method. The effective indices, confinement loss, birefringence, and chromatic dispersion of fundamental polarized mode are calculated in the proposed PCF for a wide wavelength range. To maintain the polarization in chalcogenide As2Se3 glass PCF, we enlarged two of the central air holes and reduced two transverse air holes for achieving high birefringence. This helps in creating an effective index difference between the two orthogonal polarization modes. It is also shown that As2Se3 glass PCF provides lower chromatic dispersion and less confinement loss compared to silica PCF of the same structure in wavelength range 1.3 to 1.8 μm and hence such chalcogenide As2Se3 glass PCF have high potential to be used in dispersion compensating and birefringence application in optical communication systems. In addition to this, the polarization mode dispersion (PMD) result of the proposed PCF is also reported.  相似文献

This paper describes a simple batch process for fabrication of microlens and microlens array at the end of an optical fiber or an optical fiber bundle using self-photolithography and etching techniques. A photoresist micro-cylinder was exactly formed at the core of the fiber end by exposing an UV light from the other end of the fiber and conventional development, rinse processes. A photoresist microlens was formed by thermal reflowing of the fiber at 170°C for 1 h. A measurement of transmissivity showed that the fabricated photoresist microlens is applicable for a wavelength that is longer than 450 nm. Alternatively, a glass microlens was fabricated at the core of the fiber by dry etching with an SF6 gas using the photoresist microlens as a mask. The focusing of the lensed fiber was confirmed and simulation work showed that the lensed fiber could focus the light with a beam spot of 2 μm, numerical aperture (NA) of 0.285 and a depth of focus of 16 μm.  相似文献

用精密扫描掩模法写入宽阻带啁啾光纤光栅,掩模板背面两端各10%长度处镀有按4阶高斯函数透过率的膜,写入的啁啾光栅的时延纹波最大值为20ps。为减少写入光纤光栅的偏振模色散,研制了新的低偏振模色散光纤光栅补偿写入法。采用补偿写入法前的平均微分群时延为9.1406 ps;采用补偿写入法后的平均微分群时延为0.1521 ps。并利用低偏振模色散光纤光栅对40Gb/s光时分复用系统在普通G.652光纤传输122km的色散进行了补偿实验,功率代价为1.5dB。  相似文献

偏振模色散已成为当前发展高速长距离光纤传输系统的主要限制因素。理论上分析了光纤一阶偏振膜色散效应对高速伪随机非归零码/归零码光信号偏振度的影响,并利用数值模拟的方法分析了信号不同输入偏振态以及高阶偏振膜色散效应对非归零码光信号偏振度的影响。最后对利用信号偏振度作为反馈控制信号的自适应偏振膜色散补偿系统的补偿性能进行了分析,大量统计分析结果表明对于10Gbit/s的非归零码光纤传输系统,当传输线路的平均偏振膜色散值小于43ps时,利用极大化输出信号偏振度的偏振膜色散补偿系统对信号眼图的补偿概率可以达到99.99%.  相似文献

In this paper, we have proposed and demonstrated a novel packaging method involving a vertical cavity-surface emitting laser (VCSEL) array. The concept is based on micro optical bench (MOB) placing a laser sub-mount and two-dimensional optical fiber array to match the reference plane of MOB to provide an alignment free optical interconnect. No degradation of I-V and I-L characteristics of the packaged VCSELs was found after use of the proposed packaging process. The coupling loss was about 0.9 dB for λ = 1.55 μm and the loss deviation among channels was less than 0.5 dB in a 2 x 4 ch coupling module between planar microlens and multi-mode fibers.  相似文献

在偏振模色散(PMD)自动补偿技术中,如何根据反馈信号得到相应的控制信号,使补偿速度跟随偏振模色散变化始终是该技术的一个核心问题。提出了一种新颖的自适应抖动跟踪算法,完成了以微波信号为反馈的多自由度的一阶偏振模色散自动反馈补偿系统的跟踪补偿实验。算法成功地解决了传统算法在跟踪搜索过程中易陷入局部极值的问题,有效地克服了系统中的重要控制器件偏振控制器的磁滞现象以及动态补偿时跟踪搜索过程中易出现的瞬间恶化现象。实验结果表明该算法在对出现突发偏振模色散扰动后自动进行补偿的响应速度在ms量级,最快能达到1~2 ms。  相似文献

提出和论述了一种新颖的偏振不敏感的基于半导体光放大器的四波混频光波长转换方法。基本思想是设计和采用一种全光学偏振态转换器 ,理论上能将随机偏振态的输入信号光转换为固定偏振方向且功率基本不变的线偏振光 ,利用它控制信号光的偏振态能够克服四波混频过程所固有的偏振敏感性。将这种方法与正交偏振双抽运方法结合起来 ,能较简单地实现偏振不敏感且具有近似常数转换效率的宽带四波混频光波长转换  相似文献
