Suppose G is a Lie group acting as a group of holomorphic automorphisms on a holomorphic principal bundle PX. We show that if there is a holomorphic action of the complexification GC of G on. X, this lifts to a holomorphic action of GC on the bundle PX. Two applications are presented. We prove that given any connected homogeneous complex manifold G/H with more than one end, the complexification GC of G acts holomorphically and transitively on G/H. We also show that the ends of a homogeneous complex manifold G/H with more than two ends essentially come from a space of the form S/Γ, where Γ is a Zariski dense discrete subgroup of a semisimple complex Lie group S with S and Γ being explicitly constructed in terms of G and H.  相似文献

Every affine space A can be canonically immersed as a hyperplane into a vector space  , which is called the vector hull of A. This immersion satisfies a universal property for affine functions defined on A. In the same way, every affine map between affine spaces has a linear prolongation to their vector hulls. Though not much known, this construction is greatly clarifying, both for affine geometry and for its applications. The goal of this paper is to perform a thorough study of the vector hull functor and to describe its counterpart in the framework of affine bundles. With this respect, it is shown that the vector hull of some interesting affine bundles, and more specifically some jet bundles, can be identified with certain vector bundles.   相似文献

Let ℒ︁ be a line bundle on a smooth curve C of genus g ≥ 2 and let W ⊂ H0 (ℒ︁) be a subspace of dimension r +1, in this paper we study the natural map μW : WH0 (ωC) → H0 (ℒ︁ ⊗ ωC). Let DG(r + 1, H0(ℒ︁)) be the locus where μW fails to be surjective: we prove that, if C is not hyperelliptic of genus g ≥ 3, D is an irreducible and reduced divisor on G(r + 1, H0(ℒ︁)) for any r ≥ 3, and for r = 2 if the curve C is not trigonal.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of possibly infinite dimensional Lie algebras and study their structural properties. Examples of this new class of Lie algebras are finite dimensional simple Lie algebras containing a nonzero split torus, affine and extended affine Lie algebras. Following in the tradition of Hilbert's 18th problem of classifying crystallographic groups, we provide a survey of a series of results which have culminated in the study of flat Lorentz manifolds. In particular, Milnor asked whether all complete flat affine manifolds have virtually polycyclic fundamental groups. Margulis answered this question negatively by constructing complete flat Lorentz manifolds with free fundamental groups. In this paper, we follow the effort to classify and understand these interesting counterexamples to Milnor's question, and their generalizations.  相似文献

After V. Chari and A. Pressley, a simple integrable module with finite-dimensional weight spaces over an affine Lie algebra is either a standard module (highest or lowest weight), in which case its formal character is given by the famous Weyl–Kac formula, or a subquotient of a tensor product of loop modules. Let g be a semisimple or affine Lie algebra and U q (g) its quantized enveloping algebra. Extending earlier work, the KPRV determinant for an admissible integrable U q (g) module V relative to a parabolic subalgebra pg is defined and shown to be nonzero. These determinants had previously been evaluated for g semisimple and p a Borel subalgebra. The present results can be used to extend this to g affine as will be shown in a subsequent publication.For a parabolic subalgebra the evaluation of these determinants is much more difficult. For appropriate overalgebras of the primitive quotients of the enveloping algebra U(g) defined by one-dimensional representations of p, these determinants had been calculated for g semisimple. However the quantum case is interesting because it is unnecessary to pass to overalgebras and besides for U(g):g affine, it is not even clear how these determinants should be defined. Here for g semisimple, the degrees of the determinants are computed and shown to depend on being the same type of functions as in the enveloping algebra case; yet in a different fashion. Some special cases (in type A 4) are computed explicity. Here, as in the Borel case, the determinants take a remarkably simple form and notably can be expressed as a product of linear factors. However compared to the enveloping algebra case one finds additional factors corresponding to what are called quantum zeros and whose origin remains unknown.  相似文献

This paper studies a class of simple integrable modules for an affine Lie algebras which are closely related to the finite-dimensional modules studied by V. Chari and A. Pressley, except that the Euler element is assumed to act. They are infinite-dimensional; but are shown to have finite-dimensional weight spaces. It is conjectured that any simple integrable module with a zero weight space belongs to this class and their classification is given. The main interest in studying such modules is that they may occur in the endomorphism rings of highest weight modules whilst those of Chari and Pressley in general do not. Their character theory is also more complicated.  相似文献

We compute the spectrum of the Dirac operator on 3-dimensional Heisenberg manifolds. The behavior under collapse to the 2-torus is studied. Depending on the spin structure either all eigenvalues tend to ± or there are eigenvalues converging to those of the torus. This is shown to be true in general for collapsing circle bundles with totally geodesic fibers. Using the Hopf fibration we use this fact to compute the Dirac eigenvalues on complex projective space including the multiplicities.Finally, we show that there are 1-parameter families of Riemannian nilmanifolds such that the Laplacian on functions and the Dirac operator for certain spin structures have constant spectrum while the Laplacian on 1-forms and the Dirac operator for the other spin structures have nonconstant spectrum. The marked length spectrum is also constant for these families.  相似文献

In the mid 1970s, Hartshorne conjectured that, for all n > 7, any rank 2 vector bundles on ? n is a direct sum of line bundles. This conjecture remains still open.
