Starting from the symmetric group \(S_n\), we construct two fiat 2-categories. One of them can be viewed as the fiat “extension” of the natural 2-category associated with the symmetric inverse semigroup (considered as an ordered semigroup with respect to the natural order). This 2-category provides a fiat categorification for the integral semigroup algebra of the symmetric inverse semigroup. The other 2-category can be viewed as the fiat “extension” of the 2-category associated with the maximal factorizable subsemigroup of the dual symmetric inverse semigroup (again, considered as an ordered semigroup with respect to the natural order). This 2-category provides a fiat categorification for the integral semigroup algebra of the maximal factorizable subsemigroup of the dual symmetric inverse semigroup.  相似文献

We define locally wide finitary 2-categories by relaxing the definition of finitary 2-categories to allow infinitely many objects and isomorphism classes of 1-morphisms and infinite dimensional hom-spaces of 2-morphisms. After defining related concepts including transitive 2-representations in this setting, we provide a new method of constructing coalgebra 1-morphisms associated to transitive 2-representations of locally wide weakly fiat 2-categories, and demonstrate that any such transitive 2-representation is equivalent to a certain subcategory of the category of comodule 1-morphisms over the coalgebra 1-morphism. We finish the paper by examining two classes of examples of locally wide weakly fiat 2-categories: 2-categories associated to certain classes of infinite quivers, and singular Soergel bimodules associated to Coxeter groups with finitely many simple reflections.  相似文献

We obtain a series of new integral formulae for a distribution of arbitrary codimension (and its orthogonal complement) given on a closed Riemannian manifold, which start from the formula by Walczak (1990) and generalize ones for foliations by several authors. For foliations on space forms our formulae reduce to the classical type formulae by Brito-Langevin-Rosenberg (1981) and Brito-Naveira (2000). The integral formulae involve the conullity tensor of a distribution, and certain components of the curvature tensor. The formulae also deal with a set of arbitrary functions depending on the scalar invariants of the co-nullity tensor. For a special choice of the functions our formulae involve the Newton transformations of the co-nullity tensor.  相似文献

We present an alternate definition of the mod Z component of the AtiyahPatodi-Singer η invariant associated to (not necessary unitary) fiat vector bundles, which identifies explicitly its real and imaginary parts. The computational methods of the mode attenuation and group,velocity in shallow water are discussed and two novel modified weighted integral formulae are presented. The accuracy of the modified weighted integral formulae, cycle distance formulae and weighted integral formulae in the Pekeris channel is compared theoretically and numerically. Transmission losses are calculated by those three kinds of formulae in a shallow water. Theoretical analyses and numerical results show that the modified weighted integral formulae provide higher accuracy than the weighted integral formulae. So the modified weighted integral formulae can be widely used for computing the shallow water acoustic field. We consider interpolatory quadrature formulae, relative to the Legendre weight function on [−1, 1], having as nodes the zeros of the nth-degree Chebyshev polynomial of the third or fourth kind. Szegö has shown that the weights of these formulae are all positive. We derive explicit formulae for the weights, and subsequently use them to establish the convergence of the quadrature formulae for functions having a monotonic singularity at one or both endpoints of [−1, 1]. Moreover, we generate two new quadrature formulae, by adding 1, −1 to the sets of nodes considered previously, and show that these new formulae have almost all weights positive, exceptions occurring only among the weights corresponding to 1, −1. Also, we determine the precise degree of exactness of all the quadrature formulae in consideration, we obtain asymptotically optimal error bounds for these formulae, and show that almost all of them are nondefinite, exceptions occurring only among the formulae with a small number of nodes.  相似文献

Cubic pencils of lines are classified up to projectivities. Explicit formulae for the addition of lines on the set of nonsingular lines of the pencils are given. These formulae can be used for constructing planar generalized principal lattices, which are sets of points giving rise to simple Lagrange formulae in bivariate interpolation. Special attention is paid to the irreducible nonsingular case, where elliptic functions are used in order to express the addition in a natural form.  相似文献

We discuss polynomial interpolation in several variables from a polynomial ideal point of view. One of the results states that if I is a real polynomial ideal with real variety and if its codimension is equal to the cardinality of its variety, then for each monomial order there is a unique polynomial that interpolates on the points in the variety. The result is motivated by the problem of constructing cubature formulae, and it leads to a theorem on cubature formulae which can be considered an extension of Gaussian quadrature formulae to several variables. We derive explicit inversion formulae for the attenuated geodesic and horocyclic ray transforms of functions and vector fields on two-dimensional manifolds equipped with the hyperbolic metric. The inversion formulae are based on a suitable complexification of the associated vector fields so as to recast the reconstruction as a Riemann–Hilbert problem. The inversion formulae have a very similar structure to their counterparts in Euclidean geometry and may therefore be amenable to efficient discretizations and numerical inversions. An important field of application is geophysical imaging when absorption effects are accounted for.  相似文献

In applications, for instance in optics and astrophysics, thereis a need for high-accuracy integration formulae for functionson the sphere. To construct better formulae than previouslyused, almost equidistantly spaced nodes on the sphere and weightsbelonging to these nodes are required. This problem is closelyrelated to an optimal dispersion problem on the sphere and tothe theories of spherical designs and multivariate Gauss quadratureformulae. We propose a two-stage algorithm to compute optimal point locationson the unit sphere and an appropriate algorithm to calculatethe corresponding weights of the cubature formulae. Points aswell as weights are computed to high accuracy. These algorithmscan be extended to other integration problems. Numerical examplesshow that the constructed formulae yield impressively smallintegration errors of up to 10-12.  相似文献
