Abstract

Due to the existence of constants, classical topological categories cannot be universal in the sense of containing each concrete category as a full subcategory. In the point-free case, this obstruction vanishes and the question of universality makes sense again. The main problem, namely that as to whether the category of locales and localic morphisms is universal is still open; we prove, however, the universality of the following categories:

- pairs (locale, sublocale) with the localic morphisms preserving the distinguished sublocales,

- frames with frame homomorphisms reflecting the maximal prime ideals,

- Priestley spaces with f-maps preserving the maximal elements.  相似文献

We construct algebraic moduli stacks of log structures and give stack-theoretic interpretations of K. Kato's notions of log flat, log smooth, and log étale morphisms. In the last section we describe the local structure of these moduli stacks in terms of toric stacks.  相似文献

In this paper, we study semi-stable Higgs sheaves over compact Kähler manifolds. We prove that there is an admissible approximate Hermitian-Einstein structure on a semi-stable reflexive Higgs sheaf and consequently, the Bogomolov type inequality holds on a semi-stable reflexive Higgs sheaf.  相似文献

We decompose each moduli space of semi-stable sheaves on the complex projective plane with support of dimension one and degree four into locally closed subvarieties, each subvariety being the good or geometric quotient of a set of morphisms of locally free sheaves modulo a reductive or a non-reductive group. For the Minkowski superspace and superstrings, we define and compute a circumcised analogue of the Nijenhuis tensor, the obstruction to the integrability of an almost real-complex structure. The Nijenhuis tensor vanishes identically only if the superstring superdimension is 1|1 and, moreover, the superstring is endowed with a contact structure. We also show that all real forms of Grassmann algebras are isomorphic, although they are defined by obviously different anti-involutions.  相似文献

We complete the work started by Holton and Grant concerning the semi-stability of non-trivial connected cartesian products and show that all such products are semi-stable. Further we show that except for certain (listed) restricted graphs, connected cartesian products are semi-stable at every vertex. Finally, we show that the cartesian product of any two graphs is not semi-stable if and only if one of them is totally disconnected and the other is not semi-stable.  相似文献

The aim of this work is to study monoid morphisms between commutative monoids. Algorithms to check if a monoid morphism between two finitely generated monoids is injective and/or surjective are given. The structure of the set of monoid morphisms between a monoid and a cancellative monoid is also studied and an algorithm to obtain a system of generators of this set is provided.  相似文献

Any pseudo-Hermitian or para-Hermitian manifold of dimension 4 admits a unique Kähler–Weyl structure; this structure is locally conformally Kähler if and only if the alternating Ricci tensor ρ a vanishes. The tensor ρ a takes values in a certain representation space. In this paper, we show that any algebraic possibility Ξ in this representation space can in fact be geometrically realized by a left-invariant Kähler–Weyl structure on a 4-dimensional Lie group in either the Hermitian or the para-Hermitian setting.  相似文献

Fulton and MacPherson asked if there exists a bivariant version of the Chern-Schwartz-MacPherson class. Brasselet solved this problem affirmatively in the category of analytic varieties and cellular morphisms. However, it has not been solved in the general case and the uniqueness of such a bivariant Chern class is still open. In this paper we show the unique existence of the bivariant Chern-Schwartz-MacPherson class with values in Chow groups. To be more precise, we show that there exists a unique Grothendieck transformation from the bivariant theory of constructible functions to Fulton-MacPherson's operational bivariant theory of Chow groups, provided that the compatibility with flat pullback is not required on the operational bivariant theory.  相似文献

We prove that a kind of purity holds for Hodge-Tate representations of the fundamental group of the generic fiber of a semi-stable scheme over a complete discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristic with perfect residue field. As an application, we see that the relative p-adic étale cohomology with proper support of a scheme separated of finite type over the generic fiber is Hodge-Tate if it is locally constant.  相似文献

We show that a manifold-stratified space X is the interior of a compact manifold-stratified space with boundary if and only if X is tame-ended and a K-theoretic obstruction γ*(X) vanishes. The obstruction γ*(X) is a localization of Quinn's mapping cylinder neighborhood obstruction. The main results are Theorem 1.6 and Theorem 1.7 below. In particular, this explains when a G-manifold is the interior of a compact G-manifold with boundary. One of our methods is a new transversality theorem, Theorem 1.16. For a 2n?m connected map from an n-dimensional complex to a m-dimensional manifold, an obstruction to embedding up to homotopy type is defined. The vanishing of this obstruction is a necessary and sufficient condition (in the 2n?m connected case, 2n?m ? 2, m?n ?3) to obtain an embedding up to homotopy type. In case the target manifold is Euclidean space, it is shown that the obstruction vanishes if and only if certain Thom operations are trivial. A classification theorem is given in the 2n?m+1 connected case.  相似文献

In this note, we consider semilinear equations , with zero Dirichlet boundary condition, for smooth and nonnegative f, in smooth, bounded, strictly convex domains of . We study positive classical solutions that are semi-stable. A solution u is said to be semi-stable if the linearized operator at u is nonnegative definite. We show that in dimension two, any positive semi-stable solution has a unique, nondegenerate, critical point. This point is necessarily the maximum of u. As a consequence, all level curves of u are simple, smooth and closed. Moreover, the nondegeneracy of the critical point implies that the level curves are strictly convex in a neighborhood of the maximum of u. Some extensions of this result to higher dimensions are also discussed.  相似文献

We extend the cohomological treatment of cleft extensions over cocommutative Hopf algebras by giving an interpretation of degree three Sweedler cohomology classes as obstructions to extensions. We show that every twisted action of a cocommutative Hopf algebra on an algebra R gives rise to an obstruction, a degree three Sweedler cohomology class of H with values in the center of R. The obstruction vanishes if and only if the twisted action belongs to a crossed product extension. We also show that every Sweedler three-cocycle can be realized as an obstruction.  相似文献

A weighted pointed curve consists of a nodal curve and a sequence of marked smooth points, each assigned a number between zero and one. A subset of the marked points may coincide if the sum of the corresponding weights is no greater than one. We construct moduli spaces for these objects using methods of the log minimal model program, and describe the induced birational morphisms between moduli spaces as the weights are varied. In the genus zero case, we explain the connection to Geometric Invariant Theory quotients of points in the projective line, and to compactifications of moduli spaces studied by Kapranov, Keel, and Losev-Manin.  相似文献

Stochastic relations are the Kleisli morphisms for the Giry monad. This paper proposes the study of the associated morphisms and congruences. The relationship between kernels of these morphisms and congruences is studied, and a unique factorization of a morphism through this kernel is shown to exist. This study is based on an investigation into countably generated equivalence relations on the space of all subprobabilities. Operations on these relations are investigated quite closely. This utilizes positive convex structures and indicates cross-connections to Eilenberg-Moore algebras for the Giry monad. Hennessy-Milner logic serves as an illustration for randomized morphisms and congruences.  相似文献
