On the Relationship Between the Baum-Katz-Spitzer Complete Convergence Theorem and the Law of the Iterated Logarithm

For a sequence of i.i.d. Banach space-valued random variables {Xn; n ≥ 1} and a sequence of positive constants {an; n ≥ 1}, the relationship between the Baum-Katz-Spitzer complete convergence theorem and the law of the iterated logarithm is investigated. Sets of conditions are provided under which （i） lim sup n→∞ ｜｜Sn｜｜/an〈∞ a.s.and ∞ ∑n=1（1/n）P（｜｜Sn｜｜/an ≥ε〈∞for all ε 〉 λ for some constant λ ∈ [0, ∞） are equivalent; （ii） For all constants λ ∈ [0, ∞）, lim sup ｜｜Sn｜｜/an =λ a.s.and ^∞∑ n=1（1/n） P（｜｜Sn｜｜/an ≥ε）{〈∞, if ε〉λ =∞,if ε〈λare equivalent. In general, no geometric conditions are imposed on the underlying Banach space. Corollaries are presented and new results are obtained even in the case of real-valued random variables.

研究了B值随机元阵列的完全收敛性质.主要通过使用一些关于B值独立随机变量的矩不等式和E tem and i不等式,把相关文献中的主要结果从实值情况推广到了p(1 q 2)型的Banach空间中,同时把他们的定理条件进行了极大的简化.此外进一步弱化定理的条件,给出了其它形式的完全收敛定理.     

A Complete Convergence Theorem for Row Sums from Arrays of Rowwise Independent Random Elements in Rademacher Type p Banach Spaces

We extend in several directions a complete convergence theorem for row sums from an array of rowwise independent random variables obtained by Sung, Volodin, and Hu [8 Sung , S.H. , Volodin , A.I. , and Hu , T.-C. An example is presented which illustrates that our result extends the Sung, Volodin, and Hu result even for the random variable case.

A Note on the Almost Sure Convergence for Dependent Random Variables in a Hilbert Space

We obtain the almost sure convergence for sequences of H-valued random variables which are either associated or negatively associated. Our results extend the results of Birkel (Stat. Probab. Lett. 7:17–20, 1989) and Matula (Stat. Probab. Lett. 15:209–213, 1992) to a Hilbert space.

Let be an array of rowwise asymptotically almost negative associated (AANA, in short) random variables. The complete convergence for weighted sums of arrays of rowwise AANA random variables is established under some general moment conditions. The result obtained in the paper generalizes and improves the corresponding one for negatively associated random variables.

We mainly study the almost sure limiting behavior of weighted sums of the form ∑ni=aiXi/bn , where {Xn, n ≥ 1} is an arbitrary Banach space valued random element sequence or Banach space valued martingale difference sequence and {an, n ≥ 1} and {bn,n ≥ 1} are two sequences of positive constants. Some new strong laws of large numbers for such weighted sums are proved under mild conditions.     

On Complete Convergence for Arrays of Random Elements and Variables

Abstract

We obtain complete convergence results for arrays of row-wise independent Banach space valued random elements. The main result deals with two cases that usually are considered separately: when no assumptions are made concerning the geometry of the underlying Banach space and when the Banach space is of Rademacher type p.

Complete moment convergence for i.i.d. random variables

In the paper, the complete moment convergence is obtained for i.i.d. random variables such that all moments exist, but the moment generating function does not exist. The main results extend the related known works due to Gut and Stadtmüller.

We obtain complete convergence results for arrays of rowwise independent Banach space valued random elements. Compared with similar results presented in the probabilistic literature our conditions are weaker.     

$\rho^*$-混合随机变量列加权和的完全收敛性

In this paper, the complete convergence of weighted sums for ρ*-mixing sequence of random variables is investigated. By applying moment inequality and truncation methods, the equivalent conditions of complete convergence of weighted sums for ρ*-mixing sequence of random variables are established. We not only promote and improve the results of Li et al. (J. Theoret. Probab., 1995, 8(1): 49-76) from i.i.d. to ρ*-mixing setting but also obtain their necessities and relax their conditions.
