Abstract

IR spectra of a natural CaTiO3 perovskite single-crystal show two absorption bands at 3394 and 3326 cm?1 which are attributed to structural OH defects. The two bands are weakly pleochroic in a (001) section, but show a more distinct anisotropic behaviour in (110) with a stronger component of absorption perpendicular to [001]. A plausible model for the mode of OH incorporation on a preferred atomic position is derivable under the assumption of vacancies in the Ca-lattice. An OH dipole direction roughly pointing along [110] with O2 oxygens acting as donor oxygens is consistent with the measured pleochroic scheme of the bands.  相似文献

Single element quasicrystalline monolayers were prepared by deposition of antimony and bismuth on the fivefold surface of icosahedral Al71.5Pd21Mn8.5 and the tenfold surface of decagonal Al71.8Ni14.8Co13.4. Elastic helium atom scattering and low energy electron diffraction of the monolayers show Bragg peaks at the bulk derived positions of the clean surfaces, revealing highly ordered quasicrystalline epitaxial films. Their adatom densities of (0.9+/-0.2)x10(15) cm(-2) and (0.8+/-0.2)x10(15) cm(-2) on Al-Pd-Mn and Al-Ni-Co, respectively, correspond to roughly one adatom per Al atom of the quasicrystalline substrate surfaces.  相似文献

In this article, a broadband metamaterial microwave absorber on a low-cost FR-4 Epoxy substrate is proposed. The unit cell of the absorber consists of a staircase shape metallic patch placed on the top of the metal-backed ultrathin dielectric substrate having a thickness of 1.9 mm (0.07 λ0). The absorption of more than 90% is achieved with this proposed low profile single-layer microwave absorber throughout the operation band from 8.86 to 15.5 GHz. The performance is analyzed for different values of incident angle, polarization angle, substrate height, and dielectric constant. The surface current and the power loss density at the top and bottom planes at the two absorption peaks of 9.46 and 13.90 GHz are also analyzed to elaborate the absorption mechanism of the structure. Experimental result closely follows the simulated one. The broadband characteristics of the design with relative absorption bandwidth (RAB) of 54.51% at both TE and TM polarizations of incident wave for a wide incident angles makes it versatile for applications in the X and Ku bands of microwave frequencies. The proposed work is very compact (unit cell size: 0.22 λ0) with ultrathin substrate height (0.07 λ0) and giving RAB performance of 54.51% comparable with that of others. Thus with this single-layer low-cost substrate material a broadband absorber is achieved.  相似文献

考虑原子在基底表面的扩散、沿岛周界的扩散和不同层间的扩散以及非均匀基底上表面吸附能分布的各向异性,建立起非均匀基底表面上原子扩散和三维薄膜生长的动力学蒙特卡罗模型.模拟得到在不同生长条件下出现的层状生长、岛状生长和混合生长三种生长模式和相应的多层薄膜生长形貌图.通过统计三维薄膜中原子在各层的分布,计算薄膜的表面粗糙度,得到薄膜生长模式与生长条件之间的关系. 关键词: 薄膜生长 非均匀基底 动力学蒙特卡罗模拟  相似文献

本文采用分子束外延(MBE)系统在Si(100)表面淀积Se薄膜. 通过控制衬底和固态Se束源炉的温度,实现了Se材料在Si(100)表面上的自限制超薄薄膜生长;在Se超薄层钝化的Si(100)表面上制备的Ti金属电极具有低的欧姆接触电阻特性,且热稳定性温度提升至400 ℃. 关键词: 硒 钝化 欧姆接触 热稳定性  相似文献

A theoretical model is presented for the study of the magnetic properties and the coherent magnon transport via monatomic chains in ultrathin magnetic films. In particular, we studied a finite number of monatomic chains joining two slabs of ferromagnetic material. Each slab consists of five atomic layers of a cubic lattice with magnetically ordered spins coupled by the Heisenberg exchange. The system is supported on a non-magnetic substrate and otherwise considered free from magnetic interactions. The spin dynamics of the ultrathin film is studied by the matching method. The individual and the total magnon transmissions of the ultrathin ferromagnetic film, scattering coherently at the nanojunction zone, and the localized spin states in the boundary domain are calculated and analyzed. The interatomic magnetic exchange is varied on the boundary domain specifically for three cases of magnetic exchange to investigate the consequences of magnetic softening and hardening for the calculated properties. Numerical results show characteristic interference effects between the incident spinwaves and the localized spin states of the nanocontact. The calculated properties are presented for arbitrary incidence of the magnons on the boundary, for all accessible frequencies in the propagating bands, and for the interatomic magnetic exchange of the magnetic film. The localized magnon branches created by the nanocontact domain are observed in the Brillouin zone.  相似文献

X-ray photoelectron diffraction (PD) based on a forward scattering approach (FS-PD) has been used to study the growth mode of the first few Ni monolayers deposited on the Pt(111) surface, with a particular attention to the initial stages of epitaxy, i.e. the formation of the first atomic layer. Strong evidences for a layer-by-layer (or Frank-Van der Merwe) growth mode are reported, substantiated also by theoretical simulations carried out with the single scattering cluster-spherical wave (SSC-SW) framework. The first Ni monolayer grows strained in-plane to match the substrate pseudomorphically even if there is a 10% mismatch between the lattice parameters of Ni and Pt. The multilayer (up at least to six monolayers) maintains the horizontal strain and consequently shows a vertical spacing contraction (tetragonal distorsion). It retains the overall threefold symmetry and azimuthal orientation of the substrate, indicative of a single-domain epitaxial fcc stacking. There is also some evidence (even if it is not conclusive) for the fact that the Ni atoms of the first monolayer occupy hcp sites of the substrate surface.  相似文献

利用动力学蒙特卡罗方法模拟了异质外延超薄膜生长中的成核过程.研究了薄膜与衬底的晶格失配对超薄膜生长中成核密度、平均核尺寸、标度关系及生长模式的影响.结果发现产生压(张)应变的晶格负(正)失配使生长过程更早(迟)从成核区进入过渡区,失配越大,这一效应越明显.在相同的沉积条件下,负失配导致超薄膜形成较低的成核密度与较大的平均核尺寸,而正失配则相反.成核密度满足标度关系Ns≈(F/D)χ,随着失配度从-0.04增加到0.02,标度系数χ从0.37逐渐减小到0.33,对应超薄膜生长过程从包含二聚体扩散模式转变到无 关键词: 薄膜生长 成核 晶格失配 蒙特卡罗模拟  相似文献

The structure of ultrathin NaCl films on Au(1 1 1) and on Au(11 12 12), as well as the one of bimolecular 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic diimide (PTCDI) and 1,4-bis-(2,4-diamino-1,3,5,-triazine)-benzene (BDATB) islands on NaCl films on both surfaces have been studied with a low-temperature scanning tunnelling microscope. We show that intermixed bimolecular assemblies based on selective three-fold hydrogen-bonding (H-bonding), that have previously been observed on Au(1 1 1) and on Au(11 12 12), can also be stabilized on insulating NaCl films on Au, however, only if these films are grown on Au(11 12 12) and not on Au(1 1 1). The behaviour of the heterocomplex structures is found to be largely influenced by the structural properties of the underlying substrate and by the number of NaCl layers. On a partly NaCl-covered Au(1 1 1) surface, the excess of molecules after completion of the first layer on Au prefers to form a second molecular layer based on ordered heterocomplex structures rather than to adsorb on the NaCl islands. The use of a vicinal surface together with the strong cohesion characteristic of the NaCl film introduces smooth elastic deformations on the NaCl(0 0 1) plane. As a consequence, the periodically modified structure of the overlayer provides preferential binding sites and allows adsorption of two-dimensional molecular structures. In contrast to what is observed on Au(11 12 12), the molecular domains on the NaCl film do not follow the Au step directions, but the NaCl(0 0 1) high symmetry directions. Our results provide a strategy to increase the adsorption energy of flat molecules on insulating layers by choosing a vicinal metal substrate.  相似文献

The Dewetting of thin polymer films (60–300 nm) on a non-wettable liquid substrate has been studied in the vicinity of their glass transition temperature. In our experiment, we observe a global contraction of the film while its thickness remains uniform. We show that, in this case, the strain corresponds to simple extension, and we verify that it is linear with the stress applied by the surface tension. This allows direct measurement of the stress/strain response as a function of time, and thus permits the measurement of an effective compliance of the thin films. It is, however, difficult to obtain a complete viscoelastic characterization, as the short time response is highly dependant on the physical age of the sample. Experimental results underline the effects of residual stress and friction when dewetting is analyzed on rigid substrates.  相似文献

Interface effects on the ferroelectric behavior of PbTiO3 ultrathin films deposited on a SrTiO3 substrate are investigated using an interatomic potential approach with parameters fitted to first-principles calculations. We find that the correlation of atomic displacements across the film-substrate interface is crucial for the stabilization of the ferroelectric state in films a few unit cells thick. We show that the minimum film thickness for the appearance of a spontaneous polarized domain state is not an intrinsic property of the ferroelectric film but depends on the polarizability of the paraelectric substrate. We also observe that the substrate displays an induced polarization with an unusual oscillatory behavior.  相似文献

Substrate thickness effects on the magnetization and magnetostriction of Terfenol-D films was studied by using a nonlinear constitutive model combined with the Timosheko elastic theory. Results show that characteristics of Terfenol-D films on compliant substrates are different from those of their bulk counterpart. Tunable properties can be obtained by adjusting the film/substrate thickness ratio.  相似文献

Comparative analysis of Au, Cu, Pt, Ni and Fe nanoclusters growth on amorphous carbon substrate by proposed kinetic model based on rate equations is present. Partial sticking coefficients introduced into the model let to discriminate elementary processes such as adatom adsorption and diffusion on bare substrate and on top of islands, nucleation and mobility of islands and its coalescence, 2-d and 3-d island growth modes. The quantitative fittings of experimental time dependencies of surface coverage, clusters density, cluster size are performed by solving model equations. From the best fittings the values of phenomenological coefficients defining elementary processes are found for different materials. Comparative analysis of those coefficients let to discover mechanisms of nanoclusters formation and growth of different materials. It is shown that clusterization for Cu and Au is more favorable than for Pt and Ni. Diffusivity for Pt and Ni on amorphous carbon (a-C) substrate is significantly less than for Au and Cu. In opposite, diffusivity on the top of islands for Ni and Pt is significantly higher than for Au and Cu. The mobility of islands for Au and Cu is much higher than for Ni and Pt. The fitting of experimental curves of Fe deposition on a-C at different temperatures showed that temperature mainly influences sticking process but not diffusion.  相似文献

The mass transport of Au ultrathin film on a semiconductor MoS2 was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning Auger microscopy (SAM). The surface electromigration of the Au film was found when a dc current was passed through the MoS2 substrate. The Au ultrathin film on MoS2 grew in a typical Volmer–Weber (V–W) growth mode, The AFM measurements indicated that the distribution of the Au islands exhibited clearly a preferential lateral spread towards the cathode, that is, the surface electromigration took place. The direction of the surface electromigration on MoS2 is opposite to that of the Au electromigration on Si.  相似文献

The origin of the specific activation-type behavior of the mobility of electrons on liquid-helium films with different kinds of substrates is discussed. The characteristic feature of the activation energy E a observed in the experiment is its dependence on the effective film thickness d in the form E ad ?2. Multiple cracking behavior in a thin elastic film bonded to a thick elastic substrate is investigated by the extended finite element method. Stress and stress intensity factor are obtained using a periodic finite element model for the cracked film/substrate system. The influences of various parameters including crack length, film thickness, periodic crack spacing, and relative stiffness of the substrate on the stress and stress intensity factor are discussed in detail. It is demonstrated that the effects of geometric parameters are more sensitive than that of material property. In particular, the crack spacing has a saturation value due to interactions of neighboring cracks and relief of tensile stress in the film. The film/substrate couple with multiple periodic cracks can exhibit a positive potential in improving the durability of the film/substrate system.  相似文献
