本文描述了8种YAG样品的室温和77K的EPR谱.从这些谱的参数与光谱的实验数据对照,认为晶体中有三种顺磁性的色心,其中g~2.00和g~1.98两条顺磁谱相应于光谱2×10~4cm~(-1)~3.4×10~4cm~(-1)的吸收带,为YAG基质晶体中的缺陷俘获一个电子构成的电子型缺陷中心;而 g~30.60的顺磁谱线与氧空位和掺杂的金属离子Mg~(2+) 、Cr~(3+)有关,推测为氧空位团或氧空位与金属离子构成的S>1/2的复合顺磁中心缺陷.YAG晶体随着在大气氛中高温退火,氧的进入和金属离子的掺入,造成电子和空间体积的不平衡,从而使晶体色心浓度加大.  相似文献

Low energy Auger transitions from lithium fluoride, below 50 eV, have been associated by Gallon and Matthew [Phys. Status Solidi 41 (1970) 343] with transition processes between an ionised lithium ion and neighbouring fluorine ions. Two of these transitions, giving rise to lines at 36 eV and 43 eV were thought to involve de-excitation via colour centre defects. The growth behaviour of these lines has been investigated as a function of temperature, between 200°K and 600°K, and correlations have been established between this behaviour and optical absorption data obtained in situ. The effects of deposited nickel films on the Auger spectrum have also been investigated, and it is concluded that the 43 eV transition arises from lithium metal produced by electron beam dissociation of the lithium fluoride while the 36 eV line does indeed arise from de-excitation via a defect centre.  相似文献

Amorphous tungsten trioxide films, investigated by the Raman scattering method, are shown to be composed of a spatial network of tightly bound (WO6)n·mH2O clusters with a large number of terminal oxygen W=O and W-O-W bonds between clusters. The injected electrons in an amorphous tungsten trioxide film are localized in the tungsten 5d orbitals in an axially distorted octahedron, as is shown by ESR analysis. The optical absorption of a coloured amorphous tungsten trioxide film, as has previously been proposed, can be satisfactorily described by an intervalence charge-transfer transition between localized W5+ and W6+ states.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity and optical absorption of potassium chloride crystals doped with different concentrations of thallium have been measured before and after X-irradiation. The optical absorption spectrum exhibits the characteristic Tl+ ion band at 247 nm. The extrinsic conductivity and the absorption coefficient at 247 nm increase with impurity addition upto a certain concentration. Further increase in impurities decreases them. Room temperature X-irradiation decreases the Tl+ ion band and produces the F band. F centre concentration is higher in lightly doped crystal compared to pure or heavily doped KCl. These results have been interpreted in terms of formation of interstitial potassium ions and positive ion vacancies in the Tl-doped KCl lattice due to large ionic radius of Tl+ ions. The impurity ions precipitate into TlCl phase when the doping is heavy.  相似文献

Abstract

Thin films of KCl, KBr, RbCl have been obtained by thermal evaporation on amorphous substrates with different deposition parameters. The crystalline structure and orientation have been determined, and the films resulted to be policrystals with high uniformity of orientation. Production of colour centres, achieved by irradiation with low-energy electrons, leads to F center concentrations barely observed in large crystals. The colouration kinetics is similar to that in the bulk, and shows after a maximum an exponential decay at high doses because of centre aggregation coupled to thermal effects. The films exhibit a bleaching process of the colour centres at room temperature, whose kinetics depends on the irradiation damage.  相似文献

The bleaching of F-centres on storing in darkness of electrolytically coloured single crystals and microcrystalline powders of solid solutions of KBr with other alkali bromides is reported. The colouration of the microcrystalline powders decays isothermally while that of single crystals is comparatively stable. The decay proceeds slower in the powders of mixed crystals than in the pure materials. A tentative explanation is suggested.  相似文献

The absorption cross-section integral and the oscillator strength of the 960 nm absorption band due to F2 colour centres in LiF crystal is determined at room temperature from the absorption cross-section spectrum of the F2 centres obtained from saturable absorption studies. Summary The first measurements of emission lifetimes in colour centres using a cross correlation phase and modulation fluorometer operating at the synchrotron radiation facility PULS (Frascati) are reported. Preliminary results on the F and F-aggregate centres in NaF are briefly summarized.

Tunable room-temperature laser operation has been achieved on two spectral bands from colour centres in a slab of LiF crystal pumped by the frequency-doubled output of a Q-switched Nd : YAG laser. An initial build-up of laser action in the red (~715 nm) has been observed to be followed by a period during which the intensity of the red emission reached a peak and as it decreased a near infra-red (~940 nm) lasing component evolved. The output at this longer wavelength emission increased to a relatively constant value and long-term stable laser operation was maintained.  相似文献

A study was made of the conditions under which oxygen non-stoichiometry of BaTiO3 single crystals is created by their thermal treatment in atmospheres with different partial pressure of oxygen. Two bands with maxima at 0·48 and 0·64 were found in the visible region in the absorption spectrum of crystals deficient in oxygen. An attempt was made to find an interpretation of the structure of non-stoichiometric BaTiO3 and a model of the appropriate colour centre was proposed for the band with a maximum at 0·64.

Nanodiamond powders with an average size of 50 nm have been irradiated using high-energy electron beam. After annealing and chemical treatment, nanodiamond colloidal solutions were obtained and deposited on silica coverslips by spin-coating. The fluorescence of nanodiamonds was studied by confocal microscopy together with atomic force microscopy. We evaluated the proportion of luminescent nanodiamonds as a function of the irradiation duration and showed that large quantities, exceeding hundreds of mg, of luminescent nanodiamonds can be produced within 1 h of electron irradiation.  相似文献

YAP:Nd, Cr grown under Ar-H2 or Ar-He-H2 atmosphere possesses good energy transfer from Cr3+ to Nd3+ but suffers from the colour centre formation. The centre formation was completely prevented using further admixture of Ce3+ and 10–4–10–3 wt. % Fe. Small luminescence quenching of Cr3+ or Nd3+ due to iron ions is negligible in the presence of Ce3+. The crystals may be also heavily doped with Nd3+ because the increased pumping efficiency compensates the shortening of the luminescence lifetime. YAP: Nd, Ce, Cr, Fe is advisible active laser material particularly for all the types of pulsed lasers.  相似文献

Thermally Stimulated Depolarisation Current (TSDC) and optical methods are applied to a range of alkali-fluoride crystals in order to establish a model for the stable F 2 + - like colour centres in LiF:OH-. The experimental results for LiF:OH- suggest that the OH- defects are partially destroyed under ionising irradiation or during crystal growth. The low-temperature dielectric relaxation signals in LiF:OH- and LiF:Mg2+,OH- are attributed to highly interacting hydroxide ions and products of their destruction located in extended lattice defects. In LiF:OH-, in contrast to other alkali halides, the results advocate for a defect-structure model, which considers a neutral defect (ND, probably O2 or H2) sited at the anion vacancy of the O2--V a + dipole and which possibly is the “nucleus” for the F 2 + centre. The proposed F 2 + (ND, O-) model seems to better explain the dielectric results, compared to the older F 2 + (O2-) and F 2 + (O-) models. The estimate for the electric dipole moment derived from the experimental TSDC bands, gives a value for the F 2 + - like centre in LiF:OH- between those of the F 2 + (O-) and F 2 + (O2-) defects, in good agreement with the proposed F 2 + (ND,O-) model. The reduction of the activation energy barrier of the (re)orientation process of the Mg2+V c - (OH-) complexes in LiF:Mg2+,OH-, and the low-temperature shift of their TSDC band, compared to the single Mg 2 + V c - peak in LiF:Mg2+, are tentatively ascribed to an increase in the crystal-lattice parameters owing to the presence of OH- and/or products of its destruction. This work is devoted to an analysis of thermal decay processes of the stable colour centres (CC) created in gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) Gd3Ga5O12, crystals under irradiation by gamma-quanta (E=1.25 MeV, D=106 Gy). An analysis of the model of CC accumulation under irradiation as well as an isochronous heating model is presented. The decay activation energy (Δ E) for O? and F centres in GGG crystals is calculated in accordance with this model.  相似文献

Abstract

The results of measurements of the magnetic circular dichroism of the optical absorption (MCDA) and optically detected electron paramagnetic resonance (ODEPR) of X-irradiated KBr:In crystals are presented. The MCDA bands and ODEPR parameters of In°(1) centers and In2+ centres have been measured. The mechanism of the energy storage in KBr:In crystals is found not to be simply the formation of correlated F centre-In2+ centre pairs as was assumed previously. Considerable similarities to the storage phosphor BaFBr:Eu2+ were found for the photostimulated emission and read-out properties.  相似文献

Summary The Onsager and Lorentz local fields ofF colour centres are compared and their change as a function of angular frequency and temperature is also considered. The change of these fields is proportional to the change of the refractive index produced byF centres. Some approximations about the explicit temperature dependence of the refractive-index change are also presented.

We have systematically investigated the origin and optical properties of the X-ray-induced colour centres based on the blue and red radiophotoluminescence (RPL) in a silver-activated phosphate glass. The induced-absorption band was decomposed into six Gaussian bands on the basis of its strong analogy with silver-activated sodium chloride. We have ascribed these bands to Ag0, Ag2+, and other silver ion species by means of optical and thermal measurements such as colour centre formation and dissolution by highly successive femtosecond-pulse irradiation, excited-state lifetime and thermal annealing characteristics. The data confirmed that the blue RPL at 450 nm could be attributed to the 270 and 345 nm bands due to the and Ag0 centres, respectively, and that the orange RPL at 560 nm was associated with the 308 nm band due to the Ag2+ centres.  相似文献
