The carbon fibrous mats with high conductivity (50 S cm−1) formed by carbon nanofibers with an average diameter of ∼150 nm have been fabricated by thermally treating the electrospun polyacrylonitrile fibers. The platinum clusters are electrodeposited on the carbon nanofibrous mats (CFMs) by multi-cycle CV method. In contrast to the catalytic peak current of methanol oxidation on commercial catalyst (185 mA mg−1 Pt), the catalytic peak current on optimum Pt/CFM electrode reaches to ∼420 mA mg−1 Pt despite of the large size (50–200 nm) of the Pt clusters, revealing that the special structure of carbon fibrous mats is favorable to improve the performance of catalyst.  相似文献

We have formed conjugated polymeric aniline–thiophene organic material on p-Si substrate by adding polyaniline–poly-3-methyl thiophene blend solution in acetonitrile on top of a p-Si substrate and then evaporating the solvent. It has been seen that the forward bias current–voltage (IV) characteristics of polyaniline–poly-3-methyl thiophene blend/p-Si/Al with a barrier height value of 0.60 eV and an ideality factor value of 3.37 showed rectifying behaviour at room temperature. The polyaniline–poly-3-methyl thiophene blend/p-Si/Al Schottky barrier diode showed non-ideal IV behaviour with the value of ideality factor greater than unity that could be ascribed to the interfacial layer, interface states and series resistance. Furthermore, Cheung's functions and modified Norde's function were used to extract the diode parameters including ideality factor, barrier height and series resistance. It has been seen that there is a good agreement between the barrier height values from all methods. However, the values of series resistance obtained from Cheung's functions is higher than the values obtained from Norde's functions. The energy distribution of interface states density, determined from forward bias current–voltage (IV) characteristic technique at room temperature, increases exponentially with bias from 2.81 × 1016 cm?2 eV?1 in (0.73–Ev) eV to 1.14 × 1017 cm?2 eV?1 in (0.48–Ev) eV.  相似文献

Turbinaria turbinata brown seaweeds were tested as carbon electrode material in symmetric, electrochemical supercapacitors. The electrochemical properties of the carbon materials were characterised for their application as supercapacitors using cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge/discharge method and electrochemical impedance spectroscopic analyses. Our initial results showed that the optimal behaviour was obtained for the sample prepared by pyrolysis at 800 °C. The average surface area of the carbon was 812 m2/g. Electrochemical tests with an organic electrolyte gave the following interesting results: a capacitance of 74.5 F/g, a specific series resistance of 0.5 Ω cm2 and an ionic resistivity of 1.3 Ω cm2. These results show the promising capacitive properties of carbon derived from seaweeds and their application in electrochemical supercapacitors.  相似文献

One-dimensional (1-D) carbon nanofibers anchored with partially reduced SnO2 nanoparticles (SnO2/Sn@C) were successfully synthesized through a simple electrospinning method followed by carbon coating and thermal reduction processes. The partially reduced Sn frameworks, combined with the carbon fibers, provide a more favorable mechanism for sodiation/desodiation than SnO2. As a result, SnO2/Sn@C exhibits a high reversible capacity (536 mAh g 1 after 50 cycles) and an excellent rate capability (396 mAh g 1 even at 2 C rate) when evaluated as an anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs).  相似文献

Si/C composites of carbon hollow structures loaded with Si nanoparticles (NPs) (Si/C-HSs) were prepared by one-step pyrolysis of a mixture of Si NPs and expandable microspheres (EMs). For the Si/C-HSs, hollow carbon shells with rough surfaces were formed by directly carbonizing the polymer shells of EMs, and the Si NPs fell into the void space or were loaded on the rough surfaces of the carbon shells. The EM-based carbon shells accommodated the volume expansion of the Si NPs and improved the electrical conductivity of the composites. As a result, the Si/C-HSs exhibited a high capacity (initial reversible capacity: 854.4 mAh g 1 at 300 mA g 1), stable cycling performance (capacity retention: 80% after 50 cycles), and excellent rate capability.  相似文献

The effect of signal enhancement of elements with ionization potentials in the range from 9 to 11 eV by carbon-containing compounds is a well-known phenomenon in inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS). It has traditionally been exploited through the addition of organic solvents to the sample matrix or to the mobile phase to improve sensitivity. In the present work, aqueous solutions of volatile carbon compounds (acetone, methanol and acetic acid) were directly introduced into the thermostatted spray chamber rather than being added to the sample matrix. It is presumed that no aerosol is produced from these solutions and only vapors of organic compounds are swept into the plasma together with the sample aerosol. When a 0.40 mol l 1 aqueous solution of acetone was introduced directly into the spray chamber, the signals for arsenic and selenium were enhanced by a factor of 4.2. The usefulness of this approach was demonstrated through the achievement of lower instrumental detection limits for selenium at m/z 82 (0.1 ng ml 1) compared to the system without direct introduction of volatile carbon compounds (0.5 ng ml 1). The method was successfully applied in the determination of traces of selenium in natural water, urine and bovine liver reference material.  相似文献

Carbon nanofibers embedded with ultrafine zirconia nanoparticles (ZrO2-CNFs) are fabricated via a new methodology. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) binary polymers containing zirconium n-butoxide are first dissolved in dimethylformamide, and the resulting solution is electrospun and heat-treated. The tetragonal zirconia nanoparticles formed, with a size of 5 ± 2 nm in diameter, are uniformly distributed in the carbon nanofibres. Using Nafion as an additive, ZrO2-CNFs are drop-cast onto the glassy carbon electrode (ZrO2-CNF/GCE) and the modified electrode is then applied to detect methyl parathion (MP) using differential pulse voltammetry. Two linear relationships are found at the concentration ranges of 1 × 10 9–2 × 10 8 g/L and 2 × 10 8–2 × 10 7 g/L, with a detection limit of 3.4 × 10 10 g/L (S/N > 3). The electrospun-based ZrO2-CNF is a very promising coating material for electrochemical sensing of organophosphorus compounds.  相似文献

Visible light active hydrogen modified n-type titanium oxide (HM-n-TiO2) thin films were synthesized by thermal oxidation of Ti metal sheet (Alfa Co. 0.25 mm thick) in an electric oven followed by incorporation of hydrogen electrochemically under cathodic polarization at ?1.6 V vs Pt. The photoresponse of the HM-n-TiO2 was evaluated by measuring the rate of water splitting reaction to hydrogen and oxygen in terms of photocurrent density, Jp. The optimized electric oven-made n-TiO2 and HM-n-TiO2 photoelectrodes showed photocurrent densities of 0.2 mA cm?2 and 1.60 mA cm?2, respectively, at a measured potential of ?0.4 V vs Pt at illumination intensity of 100 mW cm?2 from a 150 W xenon lamp. This indicated an eightfold increase in photocurrent density for HM-n-TiO2 compared to oven-made n-TiO2 at the same measured electrode potential. The band-gap energy of HM-n-TiO2 was found to be 2.7 eV compared to 2.82 eV for electric oven-made n-TiO2 and a mid-gap band at 1.67 eV above the valence band was also observed. The HM-n-TiO2 thin film photoelectrodes were characterized using photocurrent density under monochromatic light illumination and UV–Vis spectral measurements.  相似文献

A novel modified multiwall carbon nanotubes paste electrode with sodium dodecyl sulfate as a surfactant (SDS) has been fabricated through an electrochemical oxidation procedure and was used to electrochemically detect dopamine (DA), ascorbic acid (AA), uric acid (UA), and their mixture by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential voltammetry (DPV) methods. Several factors affecting the electrocatalytic activity of the hybrid material, such as the effect of pH, of the scan rate and of the concentration were studied. The bare carbon nanotubes paste electrode (BCNTPE) and SDS-modified carbon nanotubes paste electrode (SDSMCNTPE) were characterized using Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Using the CV procedure, a linear analytical curve was observed in the 1 × 10−6–2.8 × 10−5 M range with a detection limit at 3.3 × 10−7 M in pH 6.5, 0.2 M phosphate buffer solutions (PBS).  相似文献

The present work describes the development of a new strategy to photoelectrochemical detection of L-Dopa at low potential based on oxygen reduction on TiO2 sensitized with iron phthalocyanine (FePc/TiO2). The FePc/TiO2 composite shows a photocurrent 10-fold higher than that of pure TiO2 nanoparticles and it was 4-fold higher than that of FePc exploiting visible light. The band gaps of pure TiO2 nanoparticles, FePc and FePc/TiO2, calculated according to the Kubelka–Munk equation, were 3.22 eV, 3.11 eV and 2.82 eV, respectively. The FePc/TiO2 composite showed a low charge transfer resistance in comparison to the photoelectrode modified with FePc or TiO2. Under optimized conditions, the photoelectrochemical sensor shows a linear response range from 20 up to 190 μmol L 1 with a sensitivity of 31.8 μA L mmol 1 and limit of detection of 1.5 μmol L 1 for the detection of L-Dopa.  相似文献

The present work aims to conduct a process optimization for the production of activated carbon from sludge of food processing industry. The significant feature of this sludge based activated carbon that makes it unique and economic is that it can be produced from waste material. The carbonaceous nature of this sludge does not allow its direct disposal to land because of excess organic and nutrient load contents, however, can be converted to a value added product. This process not only eliminates the need for further treatment of sludge but also reduce the cost of its handling, land filling, and transportation as well as the utilization in the same industry in the purification system. In the present work, activated carbon produced from pyrolysis of sludge was chemically activated by various activating agents. Optimization of impregnation ratio, impregnation time, activation temperature, and activation time was studied. The product was characterized through its iodine value and yield percentage. It was observed that the product had maximum iodine value of 624 mg g−1 with ZnCl2 as an activating agent. The FT-IR analysis depicts the presence of a variety of functional groups attached on the surface of activated carbon which are used in the interaction with the adsorbate during the process of adsorption. The XRD analysis reveals that the produced activated carbon has low content of inorganic constituents compared with the precursor. The product formed was applied for methylene blue adsorption. The adsorption equilibrium of methylene blue dye was examined at room temperature. Adsorption isotherm was drawn by applying Langmuir and Freundlich models fitting the data indict, with an adsorption capacity of 23.6 mg g−1 and 14.2 mg g−1, respectively. The data show that methylene blue adsorption is best suited to Langmuir equation.  相似文献

A cost-effective successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method was used to deposit copper (I) thiocyanate (CuSCN) thin films on glass and steel substrates for this study. The deposited thin films were characterized for their structural, morphological, optical and electrochemical properties using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV–visible spectroscopy and VersaSTAT potentiostat. A direct band gap of 3.88 eV and 3.6 eV with film thickness of 0.7 μm and 0.9 μm was obtained at 20 and 30 deposition cycles respectively. The band gap, microstrain, dislocation density and crystal size were observed to be thickness dependent. The specific capacitance of the CuSCN thin film electrode at 20 mV/s was 760 F g−1 for deposition 20 cycles and 729 F g−1 for deposition 30 cycles.  相似文献

The efficiently hydrothermal route using sucrose without any catalysts is employed to prepare the uniform carbon spheres. The monodisperse 100–150 nm carbon spheres are obtained with the activation treatment in molten KOH. The carbon spheres are characterized by transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption, Raman spectroscopy and electrochemical techniques. The relationships of specific capacitance and surface properties of carbon spheres are investigated. A single electrode of carbon nanosphere materials performs excellent specific capacitance (328 F g−1), area capacitance (19.2 μF cm−2) and volumetric capacitance (383 F cm−3).  相似文献

Extreme ultraviolet (EUV) spectroscopy was recorded on microwave discharges of helium with 2% hydrogen. Novel emission lines were observed with energies of q·13.6 eV where q=1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9, or 11 or these lines inelastically scattered by helium atoms wherein 21.2 eV was absorbed in the excitation of He (1s2) to He (1s12p1). These lines were identified as hydrogen transitions to electronic energy levels below the ‘ground’ state corresponding to fractional quantum numbers. Significant line broadening corresponding to an average hydrogen atom temperature of 33–38 eV was observed for helium–hydrogen discharge plasmas; whereas pure hydrogen showed no excessive broadening corresponding to an average hydrogen atom temperature of ≈3 eV. Since a significant increase in H temperature was observed with helium–hydrogen discharge plasmas, and energetic hydrino lines were observed at short wavelengths in the corresponding microwave plasmas that required a very significant reaction rate due to low photon detection efficiency in this region, the power balance was measured on the helium–hydrogen microwave plasmas. With a microwave input power of 30 W, the thermal output power was measured to be at least 300 W corresponding to a reactor temperature rise from room temperature to 900 °C within 90 s, a power density of 30 MW/m3, and an energy balance of about −4×105 kJ/mol H2 compared to the enthalpy of combustion of hydrogen of −241.8 kJ/mol H2.  相似文献

A method is presented for calculating the contribution that enthalpies make for every component of mixtures of activated carbon–water and activated carbon–hexane to the immersion enthalpy using the concepts that are used in the solution enthalpies. The immersion enthalpies of microporous activated carbon in water and in hexane have values from ?18.97 to ?27.21 and ?25.23 to ?47.89 J g?1, respectively. From the immersion enthalpies and mass relation of the activated carbon in each of the solvents, the differential enthalpies are calculated for the activated carbon in water, HwDIFac, with values between ?15.95 and ?26.81 J g?1, as are the differential enthalpies for the activated carbon in hexane, ΔHhDIFac, with values between ?6.86 and ?46.97 J g?1. For a low mass relation of the mixture components the contributions to the immersion enthalpy of the activated carbon and water differ by 3.20 J g?1, while the difference between the contributions of the activated carbon and hexane is 19.41 J g?1.  相似文献

Improvement of the atmospheric corrosion resistance of materials used in connectics. Surface treatments by ion implantation. Tests of corrosion of a material, constituted of brass covered with an electrochemical nickel coating (thickness  5 μm) and with a gold coating (thickness  0.4 μm or ≈ 1 μm), used in electrical contact applications, have been carried out in humid synthetic air with low contents of NO2 (0.2 vpm), SO2 (0.2 vpm) and Cl2 (0.01 vpm). The results obtained show that the corrosion products are well localised on the surface. The aggregates formed are principally constituted of basic nitrate, sulphate and chloride of nickel and zinc. These studies showed that the corrosion of the material is due to the presence of porosities in the gold and nickel layers. X-ray analysis (SEM/EDS) revealed the presence of carbon in these porosities, probably related to the presence of organic compounds in the electrolytic coating baths. During the galvanic corrosion of nickel and zinc, the carbon is rejected to the periphery of the aggregates. The amount of carbon was determined by Van De Graaff analysis, by (d,p) nuclear reaction. Some treatments of the material by ion implantation (titanium or titanium and nitrogen or helium) have been realised in order to suppress the porosities of the gold layer. These treatments lead to a remarkable improvement of the corrosion resistance of the material. © 2000 Académie des sciences / Éditions scientifiques et médicales Elsevier SASatmospheric corrosion / nickel / brass / gold coating / ion implantation  相似文献

Activated carbon derived from rod-shaped polyaniline (the diameter of 170 nm) was synthesized by carbonization and subsequent activation with KOH. The obtained activated carbon exhibits a high specific capacitance (455 F g?1) and remarkable rate capability due to its high specific surface area (1976 m2 g?1), narrow pore size distribution (< 3 nm) as well as short diffusion length. It is indicated that the promising synthetic method used in this work can pave the way for designing new carbon based materials from different polymers for high-performance energy applications.  相似文献

We report the electrochemical performance of carbon-coated TiO2 nanobarbed fibers (TiO2@C NBFs) as anode material for lithium-ion batteries. The TiO2@C NBFs are composed of TiO2 nanorods grown on TiO2 nanofibers as a core, coated with a carbon shell. These nanostructures form a conductive network showing high capacity and C-rate performance due to fast lithium-ion diffusion and effective electron transfer. The TiO2@C NBFs show a specific reversible capacity of approximately 170 mAh g 1 after 200 cycles at a 0.5 A g 1 current density, and exhibit a discharge rate capability of 4 A g 1 while retaining a capacity of about 70 mAh g 1. The uniformly coated amorphous carbon layer plays an important role to improve the electrical conductivity during the lithiation–delithiation process.  相似文献

A novel chitosan-carboxylated multiwall carbon nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode (MC/GCE) was developed to investigate the oxidation behavior of nitrite using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry modes. The electrochemical mechanism of the MC/GCE towards nitrite was discussed. The MC/GCE exhibited fast response towards nitrite with a detection limit of 1 × 10−7 mol l−1 and a linear range of 5 × 10−7–1 × 10−4 mol l−1. The possible interference from several common ions was tested. The proposed method was successfully applied in the detection of nitrite in real samples.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticle coated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Ag/MWCNT) were prepared and used to fabricate a modified electrode. The Ag/MWCNT composites were observed by a transmission electron microscope (TEM), and the electrochemical properties of the Ag/MWCNT composite modified glassy carbon electrode were characterized by electrochemical measurements. The results showed that these composites had a favorable catalytic ability for the reduction of trichloroacetic acid (TCAA). Square wave voltammetric (SWV) technique was applied to detect TCAA. Under optimum conditions, the voltammetric determination of TCAA was performed with a linear range of 5.0 × 10? 6–1.2 × 10? 4 mol L? 1 and a detection limit of 1.9 × 10? 6 mol L? 1 (S/N = 3).  相似文献
