A computational and conceptual density functional study has been performed on metal tricarbonyl complexes (MTC) of both Re(I) and Tc(I). The fully optimized complexes of fac-[Tc(OH(2))(CO(3))](+) and mer-[Tc(OH(2))(CO(3))](+) show geometries that compare favorably with the X-ray data. These structures were used as a starting point to investigate the relative stability of MTC complexes with various ligands containing combinations of N, O, and S as chelating atoms and to evaluate the stabilizing/destabilizing influence of these ligands. Both for Tc and for Re complexes the nitrogen content turns out to be decisive in the stability of the metaltricarbonyl complexes, the finer details being determined by the hardness sequence N > O > S. As the core of the complexes, [(M(CO)(3)(+)], is hard, the main ordering parameter is changed as compared to our previous studies on Tc(V) [3+1] complexes where the number of sulfur atoms was decisive in accordance with the much softer character of the MOCl core. All results are successfully interpreted in terms of the hard and soft acids and bases principle (HSAB) at the local level.  相似文献

With the aim of studying the structure-physicochemical properties-biological activity relation, we have synthesized a series of organosilicon neutral oxorhenium(V) complexes with mixed ligands and we have determined their lipophilicity. X-ray diffraction has been used to establish the molecular structure of (3-triphenylsiloxypropanethiolato)(3-thiapentane-1,5-dithiolato)oxorhenium(V), (2-trimethylsiloxy- and 2-hydroxyethanethiolato)[3-(N-methyl)azapentane-1,5-dithiolato]oxorhenium(V). We have studied the neurotropic properties and acute toxicity of the synthesized complexes in vivo and their dependence on the nature of the monodentate and tridentate ligands. We have established that all the studied compounds have pronounced sedative action (they prolong the life of mice under hypoxia conditions, they are phenamine antagonists, they exhibit anticonvulsive action and prevent retrograde amnesia).  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of oxotechnetium and oxorhenium mixed-ligand complexes of the general formula MO[NN][S](3) (M = (99)Tc and Re), where NN represents the bidentate ligand 2,2'-bipyridine and S represents a monodentate thiophenol, is reported. The complexes were prepared by ligand exchange reactions using (99)Tc-gluconate and ReOCl(3)(PPh(3))(2) as precursors for the oxotechnetium and oxorhenium complexes, respectively. Compound 1 (M = (99)Tc, S = 4-methylthiophenol) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/a, a = 23.12(1) A, b = 14.349(6) A, c = 8.801(4) A, beta = 94.81(2) degrees, V = 2918(2) A(3), Z = 4. Compound 3 (M = Re, S = 4-methylthiophenol) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/a, a = 23.018(9) A, b = 14.421(5) A, c = 8.775(3) A, beta = 94.78(1) degrees, V = 2903(2) A(3), Z = 4. Compound 4 (M = Re, S = 4-methoxythiophenol) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca, a = 16.32(1) A, b = 24.55(2) A, c = 16.94(1) A, V = 6788(9) A(3), Z = 8. In all cases, the coordination geometry around the metal is distorted octahedral with the equatorial plane being defined by the three sulfur atoms of the thiophenols and one nitrogen atom of 2,2'-bipyridine, while the apical positions are occupied by the second nitrogen atom of 2,2'-bipyridine and the oxygen of the M=O core. The complexes are stable, neutral, and lipophilic. Complete (1)H and (13)C NMR assignments are reported for all complexes. The analogous oxotechnetium complexes have been also synthesized at tracer level ((99m)Tc) by mixing the 2,2'-bipyridine and the corresponding thiol with Na(99m)TcO(4) generator eluate using NaBH(4) as reducing agent. Their structure was established by chromatographic comparison with authentic oxotechnetium and oxorhenium complexes using high performance liquid chromatography techniques.  相似文献

A novel dimeric rhenium(IV) complex, [Re2(SCH2CH2S)4], and a monomeric methyloxorhenium(V) complex, [CH3ReO(SCH2CH2S)PPh3], were synthesized from methyloxorhenium(V) complexes and characterized crystallographically. The structure of [Re2(SCH2CH2S)4], the formation reaction of which showed surprising demethylation conceivably through the homolytic cleaveage of the rhenium-carbon bond, features distorted trigonal prismatic coordination of sulfurs around the metal center and a rhenium-rhenium triple bond. A revised structure, [Tc2(SCH2CH2S)4], is proposed for a related technetium complex, originally identified as [Tc2(SCH2CH2S)2(SCH=CHS)2] (Tisato et al. Inorg. Chem. 1993, 32, 2042). Additionally, a new compound, CH3Re(O)(SPh)2PPh3, was prepared.  相似文献

A mixed ligand oxido–rhenium(V) complex, [ReOS3(HL)]Cl.H2O ( 1p Cl.H2O), with 3‐thiopentane‐1,5‐dithiolato (S3) as a tridentate ligand and imidazolidinethione (HL) as an ancillary monodentate sulfur donor co‐ligand, has been synthesized. 1p Cl.H2O has been characterized by spectral analyses. The X‐ray crystal structure of 1p Cl.H2O shows that the complex contains a distorted square‐pyramidal “ReOS4” core. The structural parameters agree with our optimized structure of 1p +. Subsequently, the optimized structure was used to calculate systematically the relative stabilities of a sequence of oxido–Re(V) and the analogous oxido–Tc(V) complexes just by varying the donor sites (N, S, and O) on the tridentate ligand moiety in 1p +. Electrochemical studies on 1p Cl.H2O show an oxidative rhenium(VI)/ rhenium(V) couple at 1.561 V versus Ag/AgCl under controlled linear diffusion situation. Vibrational frequencies, electronic structures, and redox potential of 1p + have been calculated theoretically employing density functional theory (DFT) or time‐dependent‐DFT methods. The experimental findings are in excellent agreement with the computed results. The calculated redox potentials of the investigated oxido–Re(V) complexes and their oxido–Tc(V) counterparts are shown to correlate linearly with their respective chemical potential values.  相似文献

N,N-Dialkyl-N'-benzoylthioureas, HR(1)R(2)btu, react under single deprotonation and form air-stable chelate complexes with common rhenium or technetium complexes such as (NBu(4))[MOCl(4)] (M = Re, Tc) or [ReOCl(3)(PPh(3))(2)]. Compositions and molecular structures of the products are strongly dependent on the precursors used and the reaction conditions applied. Reactions with [ReOCl(3)(PPh(3))(2)] in CH(2)Cl(2) give complexes of the general formula [ReOCl(2)(R(1)R(2)btu)(PPh(3))] (3), with the benzoyl oxygen atom of the chelating benzoylthiourea being trans to the oxo ligand, and/or Re(III) complexes of the composition [ReCl(2)(R(1)R(2)btu)(PPh(3))(2)] (4) with the PPh(3) ligands in trans positions to each other. In polar solvents such as MeOH, EtOH or acetone, corresponding reactions without addition of a supporting base only result in intractable brown solutions, from which no crystalline complexes could be isolated. The addition of NEt(3), however, allows the isolation of the bis-chelates [ReOCl(R(1)R(2)btu)(2)] (1) in good yields. In this type of complex, one of the chelating R(1)R(2)btu- ligands coordinates equatorially, while the second occupies the position trans to the oxo ligand with its oxygen atom. The latter compounds can also be prepared from (NBu(4))[ReOCl(4)] in MeOH when no base is added, while the addition of NEt(3) results in the formation of [ReO(OMe)(R(1)R(2)btu)(2)] (5) complexes with the methoxo ligand trans to O(2-). Compounds of the type 5 can alternatively be prepared by heating 1 in MeOH with addition of NEt(3). A reversible conversion of 5 into oxo-bridged dimers of the composition [{ReO(R(1)R(1)btu)(2)}(2)O] (6) is observed in water-containing solvents. Starting from (NBu(4))[TcOCl(4)], a series of technetium complexes of the type [TcOCl(R(1)R(2)btu)(2)] (2) could be prepared. The structures of such compounds are similar to those of the rhenium analogues 1. Reduction of 2 with PPh(3) in CH(2)Cl(2) gives Tc(III) complexes of the composition [TcCl(R(1)R(2)btu)(2)(PPh(3))] (7) having the chloro and PPh(3) ligands in cis positions. When this reaction is performed in the presence of excess chelating ligand, the Tc(III) tris-chelates [Tc(R(1)R(2)btu)(3)] (8) are formed.  相似文献

The radioactive element technetium-99 ((99)Tc, half-life = 2.1 × 10(5) years, β(-) of 253 keV), is a major byproduct of (235)U fission in the nuclear fuel cycle. (99)Tc is also found in radioactive waste tanks and in the environment at National Lab sites and fuel reprocessing centers. Separation and storage of the long-lived (99)Tc in an appropriate and stable waste-form is an important issue that needs to be addressed. Considering metal oxide solid-state materials as potential storage matrixes for Tc, we are examining the redox speciation of Tc on the molecular level using polyoxometalates (POMs) as models. In this study we investigate the electrochemistry of Tc complexes of the monovacant Wells-Dawson isomers, α(1)-P(2)W(17)O(61)(10-) (α1) and α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61)(10-) (α2) to identify features of metal oxide materials that can stabilize the immobile Tc(IV) oxidation state accessed from the synthesized Tc(V)O species and to interrogate other possible oxidation states available to Tc within these materials. The experimental results are consistent with density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Electrochemistry of K(7-n)H(n)[Tc(V)O(α(1)-P(2)W(17)O(61))] (Tc(V)O-α1), K(7-n)H(n)[Tc(V)O(α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61))] (Tc(V)O-α2) and their rhenium analogues as a function of pH show that the Tc-containing derivatives are always more readily reduced than their Re analogues. Both Tc and Re are reduced more readily in the lacunary α1 site as compared to the α2 site. The DFT calculations elucidate that the highest oxidation state attainable for Re is VII while, under the same electrochemistry conditions, the highest oxidation state for Tc is VI. The M(V)→ M(IV) reduction processes for Tc(V)O-α1 are not pH dependent or only slightly pH dependent suggesting that protonation does not accompany reduction of this species unlike the M(V)O-α2 (M = (99)Tc, Re) and Re(V)O-α1 where M(V/IV) reduction process must occur hand in hand with protonation of the terminal M═O to make the π*(M═O) orbitals accessible to the addition of electrons. This result is consistent with previous extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) and X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) data that reveal that the Tc(V) is "pulled" into the -α1 framework and that may facilitate the reduction of Tc(V)O-α1 and stabilize lower Tc oxidation states. This study highlights the inequivalency of the two sites, and their impact on the chemical properties of the Tc substituted in these positions.  相似文献

Reduction-substitution reactions of [M(O)Cl(4)](-)(M=Re, (99)Tc) precursors with an excess of substituted dithiobenzoate ligands (R-PhCS(2))(-) in dichloromethane/methanol mixtures afford a series of six-coordinated neutral mixed-ligand complexes of the type M(III)(R-PhCS(3))(2)(R-PhCS(2))(M=Re; Rel--9; M=99)Tc; Tel--9). The coordination sphere is entirely filled by sulfur donor atoms, and the complexes adopt a distorted trigonal prismatic arrangement, as assessed by the X-ray crystal structure analysis of Re(4-Me-PhCS(3))(2)(4-Me-PhCS(2)), Re 2. These compounds show sharp proton and carbon NMR profiles, in agreement with the diamagnetism typical of low spin d(4) trigonal prismatic configurations. The red-ox processes involve reduction of the metal from Re(v) to Re(iii) and oxidation of dithiobenzoate to trithioperoxybenzoate. M2--9 complexes contain a substitution-inert [M(R-PhCS(3))(2)](+) moiety including the metal and two trithioperoxybenzoate fragments, while the third dithiobenzoate ligand is labile. The latter is efficiently replaced by reaction with better nucleophiles such as diethyldithiocarbamate giving a further class of mixed ligand complexes of the type M(III)(R-PhCS(3))(2)(Et(2)NCS(2))(M=Re; Re 10--18; M=(99)Tc; Tc--18), which retain the trigonal prismatic arrangement, as determined by the X-ray analyses of the representative compounds Re(PhCS(3))(2)(Et(2)NCS(2)), Re 10 and (99)Tc(PhCS(3))(2)(Et(2)NCS(2)), Tc 10.  相似文献

New oxorhenium complexes with tridentate 3-thia- and 3-methylazapentane-1,5-dithiolate and monodentate pyridine and quinoline derivatives have been synthesized. As a result of investigation of biological activity a high cytotoxicity was found for the synthesized complexes in relation to tumor cells. The specificity of the 2-pyridylthiolato[3-(N-methyl)azapentane-1,5-dithiolato]oxorhenium(V) cytotoxic action towards cells of mouse hepatoma MG-22A on a background of low acute toxicity was established.  相似文献

(99m)Tc-tricarbonyl [(99m)Tc(CO)(3)] complexes have been conventionally synthesized by heating [(99m)Tc(CO)(3)(H(2)O)(3)](+) and a tridentate chelating ligand under atmospheric pressure; however, this method is poor in terms of chemical yield and reproducibility. Moreover, since the half-life of (99m)Tc is very short (6 h), the development of facile and rapid methods of synthesizing (99m)Tc-labeled compounds, which could be used as radioactive tracers for single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), is required. Thus, we initiated a study on the application of a microwave reaction to the synthesis of (99m)Tc(CO)(3)-2-picolylamine monoacetic acid (PAMA) [(99m)Tc(CO)(3)-PAMA] complexes on the basis of the fact that synthesis of metal complexes proceeds rapidly by microwave irradiation owing to an efficient exothermic phenomenon and heat conduction effect. Formation of by-products could be markedly suppressed by comparison with that in conventional methods. In the present study, rhenium (Re), an element belonging to the same group in the periodic table as technetium (Tc), and which also forms bipyramidal complexes, was first used to investigate the synthetic reaction because no stable isotopes exist for Tc. As a result, when water was used as the solvent under the irradiation of microwaves within 1 min, the Re(CO)(3)-PAMA complex could be directly synthesized from ethyl ester of PAMA (PAMAEE) and [Re(CO)(3)(H(2)O)(3)]Br in one step and with a high yield (94%). Finally, the (99m)Tc(CO)(3)-PAMA complex was successfully synthesized at a high radiochemical yield (>99%) within 1 min of reaction using (99m)Tc instead of Re under the same conditions.  相似文献

Technetium-99 ((99)Tc) (β(-)(max): 293.7 keV; t(1/2): 2.1 × 10(5) years) is a byproduct of uranium-235 fission and comprises a large component of radioactive waste. Under aerobic conditions and in a neutral-basic environment, the pertechnetate anion ((99)TcO(4)(-)) is stable. (99)TcO(4)(-) is very soluble, migrates easily through the environment and does not sorb well onto mineral surfaces, soils, or sediments. This study moves forward a new strategy for the reduction of (99)TcO(4)(-) and the chemical incorporation of the reduced (99)Tc into a metal oxide material. This strategy employs a single material, a polyoxometalate (POM), α(2)-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-), that can be photoactivated in the presence of 2-propanol to transfer electrons to (99)TcO(4)(-) and incorporate the reduced (99)Tc covalently into the α(2)-framework to form the (99)Tc(V)O species, (99)Tc(V)O(α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61))(7-). This occurs via the formation of an intermediate species that slowly converts to (99)Tc(V)O(α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61))(7-). Extended X-ray absorption fine structure and X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy analysis suggests that the intermediate consists of a (99)Tc(IV) α(2)- species where the (99)Tc is likely bound to two of the four W-O oxygen atoms in the α(2)-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) defect. This intermediate then oxidizes and converts to the (99)Tc(V)O(α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61))(7-) product. The reduction and incorporation of (99)TcO(4)(-) was accomplished in a "one pot" reaction using both sunlight and UV irradiation and monitored as a function of time using multinuclear nuclear magnetic resonance and radio thin-layer chromatography. The process was further probed by the "step-wise" generation of reduced α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61)(12-) through bulk electrolysis followed by the addition of (99)TcO(4)(-). The reduction and incorporation of ReO(4)(-), as a nonradioactive surrogate for (99)Tc, does not proceed through the intermediate species, and Re(V)O is incorporated quickly into the α(2)-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) defect. These observations are consistent with the periodic trends of (99)Tc and Re. Specifically, (99)Tc is more easily reduced compared to Re. In addition to serving as models for metal oxides, POMs may also provide a suitable platform to study the molecular level dynamics and the mechanisms of the reduction and incorporation of (99)Tc into a material.  相似文献

The structures of novel Tc(V) complexes trans-[TcO(2)(py)(4)]Cl·2H(2)O (1a), trans-[TcO(2)(pic)(4)]Cl·2H(2)O (2a), and trans-[TcO(2)(pic)(4)]BPh(4) (2b) were determined by X-ray crystallography, and their spectroscopic characteristics were investigated by emission spectroscopy and atomic scale calculations. The cations adopt a tetragonally distorted octahedral geometry, with a trans orientation of the apical oxo groups. trans-[TcO(2)(pic)(4)]BPh(4) has an inversion center located on technetium; however, for trans-[TcO(2)(py)(4)]Cl·2H(2)O and trans-[TcO(2)(pic)(4)]Cl·2H(2)O, a strong H bond formed by only one of the oxo substituents introduces an asymmetry in the structure, resulting in inequivalent trans Tc-N and Tc═O distances. Upon 415 nm excitation at room temperature, the complexes exhibited broad, structureless luminescences with emission maxima at approximately 710 nm (1a) and 750 nm (2a, 2b). Like the Re(V) analogs, the Tc(V) complexes luminesce from a (3)E(g) excited state. Upon cooling the samples from 278 to 8 K, distinct vibronic features appear in the spectra of the complexes along with increases in emission intensities. The low temperature emission spectra display the characteristic progressions of the symmetric O═Tc═O and the Tc-L stretching modes. Lowest-energy, triplet excited-state distortions calculated using a time-dependent theoretical approach are in good agreement with the experimental spectra. The discovery of luminescence from the trans-dioxotechnetium(V) complexes provides the first opportunity to directly compare fundamental luminescence properties of second- and third-row d(2) metal-oxo congeners.  相似文献

The organometallic precursor of fac-[99mTc(CO)3(H2O)3]+ has attracted much attention because of the robustness and small size of Tc(I)-tricarbonyl complexes compared to Tc(V) complexes and the good labeling affinity with a variety of donor atoms. Among various ligand systems, an iminodiacetic acid (IDA) was proven as a good chelating group to form a Tc(III)-compelx as well as has been shown its potential as a chelating system for fac-[99mTc(CO)3] precursor. In an attempt to confirm the similarity and the difference between 99mTc(CO)3-IDA and 99mTc-(IDA)2-complex, M(CO)3-IDA (M = 99mTc, Re) complexes of disofenin, mebrofenin and N-(3-iodo-2,4,6-trimethyl phenylcarbamoylmethyl) iminodiacetic acid were prepared, and the biological evaluation of 99mTc(CO)3-disofenin was performed. The 99mTc(CO)3-IDA complexes were prepared with a high radiolabeling yield (>98%) in a quantitative manner and showed a negative charge. The in vivo pharmacokinetic behavior of 99mTc(CO)3-disofenin showed a similar biological activity to 99mTc-(disofenin)2 in that those complexes were quickly cleared from the blood by the hepatocytes and excreted into the gallbladder and intestine. Accordingly, the 99mTc(CO)3-IDA derivatives of disofenin and mebrofenin might be used as hepatobiliary imaging agents. Since an IDA is a promising chelator for 99mTc-based radiopharmaceutical and the biological properties of 99mTc(CO)3-IDA derivative shows similar to that of 99mTc-complex, a biomolecule containing IDA can be freely radiolabeled with fac-[99mTc(CO)3]-precursor or 99mTc. However, the radiolabeling efficiency and the biological behavior demonstrates the favorable properties of 99mTc(CO)3-IDA compound for the development of a new imaging agent.  相似文献

The luminescence of trans-[TcO2(L)4]+ (L = pyridine (py) or picoline (pic)) and trans-[TcO2(CN)4]3- at room and low temperature is described and represents the first example of room temperature excited-state luminescence observed for Tc complexes. At room temperature, the complexes exhibited broad luminescence with emission maxima ranging from 745 to 780 nm. Analogous to the Re complexes (emission at 635-655 nm), the low-temperature emission spectra of microcrystalline samples of [TcO2(py)4]BPh4 and [TcO2(pic)4]BPh4 display the characteristic progressions of the symmetric O=Tc=O and Tc-L stretching modes. DFT/TDDFT calculations were performed on the trans-[MO2(L)4]+ (M = Re, Tc) congeners and predicted the dioxotechnetium emission to be 0.41 eV lower in energy than its Re analogue. Low-temperature lifetimes (8 K) ranging from 15 to 1926 mus for the series of Tc complexes are consistent with the Re analogues.  相似文献

Functionalization of perfluoro aryl azides by bifunctional chelating agents (BFCAs) capable of forming high specific activity complexes with (99m)Tc (for gamma-imaging) and (188)Re (for radiotherapy) is described. The synthesis of multidonor BFCAs containing N(2)S(2), N(4), and N(3)S donor groups containing imidazole, pyridine, and pyrazine functionalities that may be important for tuning the pharmacokinetic parameters is also described. Functionalization of perfluoro aryl azides at various sites on BFCAs yields novel bifunctional photolabile chelating agents (BFPCAs) that are useful for covalent attachment to biomolecules. A representative Re-BFPCA 8a in a model solvent, diethylamine, proceeded to give a high yield of intermolecular NH insertion product without the decomplexation of the metal ion from 8a. All products originated from the photolysis of 8a in diethylamine are characterized by analytical techniques, and a plausible mechanism of formation of different photolytic products is suggested. The high yield of intermolecular NH insertion of Re-BFPCA 8a is extended to labeling of human serum albumin (HSA) and Fab fragments under aqueous conditions. The photolabeling technology developed here offers a new way to attach diagnostically and therapeutically useful radiotracers (e.g., (99m)Tc, (188)Re) to Fab fragments for potential noninvasive imaging and therapy of cancer.  相似文献

Reaction of [MoV(TpMe,Me)(O)Cl2] with 1,3-, 1,5-, 1,6-, 2,6-, and 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene affords the dinuclear complexes [[Mo(TpMe,Me)(O)Cl]2(mu-C10H6O2)], abbreviated as 1,3-Mo2, 1,5-Mo2, 1,6-Mo2, 2,6-Mo2, and 2,7-Mo2, according to the substitution pattern of the bridging ligand. Electrochemical, UV-vis/NIR spectroscopic, and variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility studies have been used to probe the effects of the bridging-ligand topology on the metal-metal electronic and magnetic interactions. The complexes can be split into two classes according to the properties of the bridging ligands. Complexes 1,3-Mo2, 1,6-Mo2, and 2,7-Mo2 all have bridging ligands that are topologically equivalent to meta-substituted bridging ligands such as 1,3-dihydroxybenzene, in that (i) there is an odd number of C atoms separating the two oxygen atoms, regardless of the pathway that is taken through the ligand skeleton, and (ii) the doubly oxidized from of the bridging ligand is a diradical. These complexes are classified as being "T-meta" (= topologically equivalent to meta). Complexes 1,5-Mo2 and 2,6-Mo2 have bridging ligands that are topologically equivalent to para-substituted groups such as 1,4-dihydroxybenzene, in that (i) there is an even number of C atoms separating the two oxygen atoms, whichever pathway is taken through the ligand skeleton, and (ii) the doubly oxidized form of the bridging ligand is a diamagnetic quinone. These complexes are classified as "T-para". Electrochemical studies show that the comproportionation constants for the Mo(V)/Mo(IV) mixed-valence states of the T-meta complexes are smaller than those for the T-para complexes. Spectroelectrochemical studies show that the Mo(V)/Mo(IV) mixed-valence states of the T-para complexes show pronounced Mo(IV)-->Mo(V) IVCT transitions, whereas those of the T-meta complexes do not show these transitions. Magnetic susceptibility studies show that the T-meta complexes all display ferromagnetic exchange between the metal centers, whereas the T-para complexes all display antiferromagnetic exchange. Thus, both the electronic and the magnetic properties of these complexes show a clear demarcation into two sets according to the bridging-ligand topology.  相似文献

The isotope (99)Tc (β(max), 293.7; half-life, 2.1 × 10(5) years) is an abundant product of uranium-235 fission in nuclear reactors and is present throughout the radioactive waste stored in underground tanks at the Hanford and Savannah River sites. Understanding and controlling the extensive redox chemistry of (99)Tc is important in identifying tunable strategies to separate (99)Tc from spent fuel and from waste tanks and, once separated, to identify and develop an appropriately stable waste form for (99)Tc. Polyoxometalates (POMs), nanometer-sized models for metal oxide solid-state materials, are used in this study to provide a molecular level understanding of the speciation and redox chemistry of incorporated (99)Tc. In this study, (99)Tc complexes of the (α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61))(10-) and (α(1)-P(2)W(17)O(61))(10-) isomers were prepared. Ethylene glycol was used as a "transfer ligand" to minimize the formation of TcO(2)·xH(2)O. The solution structures, formulations, and purity of Tc(V)O(α(1)/α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61))(7-) were determined by multinuclear NMR. X-ray absorption spectroscopy of the complexes is in agreement with the formulation and structures determined from (31)P and (183)W NMR. Preliminary electrochemistry results are consistent with the EXAFS results, showing a facile reduction of the Tc(V)O(α(1)-P(2)W(17)O(61))(7-) species compared to the Tc(V)O(α(2)-P(2)W(17)O(61))(7-) analog. The α(1) defect is unique in that a basic oxygen atom is positioned toward the α(1) site, and the Tc(V)O center appears to form a dative metal-metal bond with a framework W site. These attributes may lead to the assistance of protonation events that facilitate reduction. Electrochemistry comparison shows that the Re(V) analogs are about 200 mV more difficult to reduce in accordance with periodic trends.  相似文献

The geometries and energetics of complexes of Hg(II) and Pb(II) with sulfur‐ and aminopyridine‐containing chelating resin including crosslinked polystyrene immobilizing 2‐aminopyridine via sulfur‐containing (PVBS‐AP), sulfoxide‐containing (PVBSO‐AP), and sulfone‐containing (PVBSO2‐AP) spacer arms have been investigated theoretically, and thus interactions of the metal ions with chelating resins were evaluated. The results indicate that PVBS‐AP behaves as a tridentate ligand to coordinate with the metal ions by S and two N atoms to form chelating compounds with S atom playing a dominant role in the coordination, whereas PVBSO‐AP and PVBSO2‐AP interact with metal cations, respectively, in a tricoordinate manner by O and two N atoms forming chelating complexes. Furthermore, it is revealed that O and N2 atoms of PVBSO‐AP are the main contributor of coordination to Hg(II), whereas N2 atom of PVBSO2‐AP is mainly responsible for the coordination to Hg(II). For PVBSO‐AP‐Pb2+ and PVBSO2‐AP‐Pb2+ complex, the coordination is dominated by the synergetic effect of N1, N2, and O atoms. Natural bond orbital and second‐order perturbation analyses suggest that the charge transfer from the chelating resins to metal ions is mainly dominated by the interactions of lone pair of electrons of the donor atoms with the unoccupied orbitals of metal ions. Hg(II) complexes exhibit larger binding energies than the corresponding Pb(II) complexes, implying the chelating resins exhibit higher affinity toward Hg(II), which is consistent with the experimental results. Combined the theoretical and experimental results, further understanding of the structural information of the complexes and the coordination mechanism was achieved. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Since the manganese(II) complexes are known as having a high degree of stability, some of them may be able to play a very important role in biosystems. We prepared manganese(II) complexes with different chromospheres containing macrocyclic ligands bearing N, S and O like functional donor atoms in order to obtain different models of compounds. So these new manganese(II) complexes were derived from macrocyclic ligands by chelating them with metal ions. Thus, two macrocyclic ligands, L(1): 2,4-diphenyl-1,5-diaza-8,12-dioxo-6,7:13,14-dibenzocyclo tetradeca-1,4-diene[N(2)O(2)]ane; L(2): 2,4,9,11-tetraphenyl-6,13-dimethyl-1,5,8,12-traazacyclotertr-adeca-1,4,8,11-tetraene[N(4)]ane; and two more different form first one viz.-L(3): 1,7-diaza-4-monothia-10,14-dioxo-8,9:15,16-cyclohexadecane[N(2)O(2)S]ane and L(4): 4,13-diaoxa-1,7,10,16-hexazacyclooctadecane[N(4)O(2)]ane were prepared and their capacity to retain the manganese(II) ion in solid as well as aqueous solution was determined from various physiochemical techniques viz: characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, mass, IR, electronic, ESR spectral studies and cyclic voltammetric measurements.  相似文献
