The Cδ?H amination of unactivated, secondary C?H bonds to form a broad range of functionalized pyrrolidines has been developed by a triiodide (I3?)‐mediated strategy. By in situ 1) oxidation of sodium iodide and 2) sequestration of the transiently generated iodine (I2) as I3?, this approach precludes undesired I2‐mediated decomposition which can otherwise limit synthetic utility to only weak C(sp3)?H bonds. The mechanism of this triiodide‐mediated cyclization of unbiased, secondary C(sp3)?H bonds, by either thermal or photolytic initiation, is supported by NMR and UV/Vis data, as well as intercepted intermediates.  相似文献

The halogen bond, similar to the hydrogen bond, is an important noncovalent interaction and plays important roles in diverse chemistry‐related fields. Herein, bromine‐ and iodine‐based halogen‐bonding interactions between two benzene derivatives (C6F5Br and C6F5I) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) are investigated by using IR and NMR spectroscopy and ab initio calculations. The results are compared with those of interactions between C6F5Cl/C6F5H and DMSO. First, the interaction energy of the hydrogen bond is stronger than those of bromine‐ and chlorine‐based halogen bonds, but weaker than iodine‐based halogen bond. Second, attractive energies depend on 1/rn, in which n is between three and four for both hydrogen and halogen bonds, whereas all repulsive energies are found to depend on 1/r8.5. Third, the directionality of halogen bonds is greater than that of the hydrogen bond. The bromine‐ and iodine‐based halogen bonds are strict in this regard and the chlorine‐based halogen bond only slightly deviates from 180°. The directional order is iodine‐based halogen bond>bromine‐based halogen bond>chlorine‐based halogen bond>hydrogen bond. Fourth, upon the formation of hydrogen and halogen bonds, charge transfers from DMSO to the hydrogen‐ and halogen‐bond donors. The CH3 group contributes positively to stabilization of the complexes.  相似文献

To introduce halogen‐bond interactions between a cation and an anion, a novel FeIII complex from iodine‐substituted ligands involving a paramagnetic nickel dithiolene anion was prepared and characterized. The compound exhibited the synergy between a spin‐crossover transition and a spin‐Peierls‐like singlet formation. The halogen‐bond interactions between the iodine and the sulfur atoms stabilized the paramagnetic state of π‐spins and played a crucial role in the synergistic magnetic transition between d‐ and π‐spins. In addition, the compound showed the light‐induced excited spin state trapping effect.  相似文献

Hydrogen bonds are considered a powerful organizing force in designing supramolecular architectures because they are directional, selective and reversible at room temperature. trans‐Dithiocyanatotetrakis(4‐vinylpyridine)nickel(II) is a popular host for the inclusion of small molecules and 2,3,5,6‐tetrafluoro‐1,4‐diiodobenzene (TFDIB) represents a strong halogen‐bond donor. These constituents cocrystallize in a 1:1 stoichiometry, [Ni(NCS)2(C7H7N)4]·C6F4I2, in the tetragonal space group I41/a. Both residues occupy special positions, i.e. the pseudo‐octahedral NiII complex is located on a twofold axis and the TFDIB molecule sits about a crystallographic centre of inversion. The components interact via a short S...I contact of 3.2891 (12) Å between the thiocyanate S atom of the host and the iodine substituent at the perhalogenated aromatic ring of the smaller guest molecule. This interaction meets the commonly accepted criteria for a halogen bond. Such halogen bonds to sulfur are significantly less common than to smaller electronegative atoms.  相似文献

To enable a comparison between a C—H…X hydrogen bond and a halogen bond, the structures of two fluorous‐substituted pyridinium iodide salts have been determined. 4‐[(2,2‐Difluoroethoxy)methyl]pyridinium iodide, C8H10F2NO+·I, (1), has a –CH2OCH2CF2H substituent at the para position of the pyridinium ring and 4‐[(3‐chloro‐2,2,3,3‐tetrafluoropropoxy)methyl]pyridinium iodide, C9H9ClF4NO+·I, (2), has a –CH2OCH2CF2CF2Cl substituent at the para position of the pyridinium ring. In salt (1), the iodide anion is involved in one N—H…I and three C—H…I hydrogen bonds, which, together with C—H…F hydrogen bonds, link the cations and anions into a three‐dimensional network. For salt (2), the iodide anion is involved in one N—H…I hydrogen bond, two C—H…I hydrogen bonds and one C—Cl…I halogen bond; additional C—H…F and C—F…F interactions link the cations and anions into a three‐dimensional arrangement.  相似文献

X‐ray analysis of the title compound reveals three crystallographically distinct cations of 1,9‐diethyladeninium, two iodide anions and one triiodide anion in the asymmetric unit, giving six residues and the formula 3C9H14N5+·I3·2I. Standard purine nomenclature is used to identify the atoms of each adenine moiety. Hydrogen bonding is observed between atoms N6 and N7 of a pair of cations [N⋯N = 2.885 (4)/2.902 (3) and 2.854 (3)/2.854 (3) Å], with additional hydrogen bonding to I anions via the other N6 H atom [N⋯I = 3.708 (3), 3.738 (3) and 3.638 (3) Å]. The triiodide anion is not involved in hydrogen bonding. The bond lengths and angles of the 1,9‐diethyladeninium cations are compared with literature values and confirm the formation of the imine tautomer.  相似文献

Co‐crystallisation of, in particular, 4‐iodotetrafluorophenol with a series of secondary and tertiary cyclic amines results in deprotonation of the phenol and formation of the corresponding ammonium phenate. Careful examination of the X‐ray single‐crystal structures shows that the phenate anion develops a C?O double bond and that the C?C bond lengths in the ring suggest a Meissenheimer‐like delocalisation. This delocalisation is supported by the geometry of the phenate anion optimised at the MP2(Full) level of theory within the aug‐cc‐pVDZ basis (aug‐cc‐pVDZ‐PP on I) and by natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses. With sp2 hybridisation at the phenate oxygen atom, there is strong preference for the formation of two non‐covalent interactions with the oxygen sp2 lone pairs and, in the case of secondary amines, this occurs through hydrogen bonding to the ammonium hydrogen atoms. However, where tertiary amines are concerned, there are insufficient hydrogen atoms available and so an electrophilic iodine atom from a neighbouring 4‐iodotetrafluorophenate group forms an I???O halogen bond to give the second interaction. However, in some co‐crystals with secondary amines, it is also found that in addition to the two hydrogen bonds forming with the phenate oxygen sp2 lone pairs, there is an additional intermolecular I???O halogen bond in which the electrophilic iodine atom interacts with the C?O π‐system. All attempts to reproduce this behaviour with 4‐bromotetrafluorophenol were unsuccessful. These structural motifs are significant as they reproduce extremely well, in low‐molar‐mass synthetic systems, motifs found by Ho and co‐workers when examining halogen‐bonding interactions in biological systems. The analogy is cemented through the structures of co‐crystals of 1,4‐diiodotetrafluorobenzene with acetamide and with N‐methylbenzamide, which, as designed models, demonstrate the orthogonality of hydrogen and halogen bonding proposed in Ho’s biological study.  相似文献

Preparation and Crystal Structure of Urotropinium Triiodide, UrHI3 Urotropinium triiodide C6H13N4I3 is formed by the reaction of equimolar amounts of urotropinium iodide and iodine in tBuOH as red-brown cube-like crystals melting at 402 K under decomposition. The compound crystallizes monoclinically in the space group P21/c with a = 952.0(3) pm, b = 1 160.2(6) pm, c = 1 149.9(4) pm, β = 92.22(3)° and Z = 4. [Ba(benzo‐15‐crown‐5)2](I3)2 and [Ba(benzo‐15‐crown‐5)2](I7)2 can be obtained in crystalline form by reacting benzo‐15‐crown‐5 (C14H20O5), barium iodide (BaI2), and iodine (I2) in ethan‐ole /dichloromethane. The triiodide consists of a sandwich‐like cation [Ba(benzo‐15‐crown‐5)2]2+ and an isolated symmetrically linear I3 anion. The unusual I7 anion in the heptaiodide can be described as a V‐shaped pentaiodide unit, which is connected with a slightly widened iodine molecule to the rare Z‐form of the heptaiodide ion. In the crystal structure, secondary bonding distances lead to almost planar ten‐membered iodine rings, which are connected by common edges to form staircase‐like bands.  相似文献

Two triiodide ions and two iodine molecules form isolated twisted I102? rings. The geometry of the complex cation is as expected, e.g.d(Cd—O) = 2.366 (4) and 2.394 (4) Å.  相似文献

The title compound, [4′‐(4‐bromophenyl)‐2,2′:6′,2′′‐terpyridine]chlorido(trifluoromethanesulfonato)copper(II), [Cu(CF3O3S)Cl(C21H14BrN3)], is a new copper complex containing a polypyridyl‐based ligand. The CuII centre is five‐coordinated in a square‐pyramidal manner by one substituted 2,2′:6′,2′′‐terpyridine ligand, one chloride ligand and a coordinated trifluoromethanesulfonate anion. The Cu—N bond lengths differ by 0.1 Å for the peripheral and central pyridine rings [2.032 (2) (mean) and 1.9345 (15) Å, respectively]. The presence of the trifluoromethanesulfonate anion coordinated to the metal centre allows Br...F halogen–halogen interactions, giving rise to the formation of a dimer about an inversion centre. This work also demonstrates that the rigidity of the ligand allows the formation of other types of nonclassical interactions (C—H...Cl and C—H...O), yielding a three‐dimensional network.  相似文献

Two new highly selective triiodide electrodes have been prepared using charge‐transfer complex of iodine with cryptand 222 as an electroactive ionophore and nitrophenyl octyl ether as a plasticizing agent. The electrodes showed Nernstian response to triiodide ions over a concentration range from 1.0 × 10?;2 — 7.9 × 10?;7 M and from 1.0 × 10?;2 — 1 × 10?;6 M with detection limits of 6.3 × 10?;7 and 7.9 × 10?;7 M for cryptand and its charge‐transfer complex with iodine, respectively. The response times (t95%) of the sensors were 10 and 5 s. The membrane could be used for more than 1 month without any divergence in potentials. The proposed sensors exhibited very high selectivity for triiodide ion over other anions, and could be used in a wide pH range ?2–10. These electrodes were successfully applied as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of copper in ore samples.  相似文献

The synthesis and anion binding properties of the first rotaxane host system to bind and sense anions purely through halogen bonding, is described. Through a combination of polarized iodotriazole and iodotriazolium halogen bond donors, a three‐dimensional cavity is created for anion binding. This rotaxane incorporates a luminescent rhenium(I) bipyridyl metal sensor motif within the macrocycle component, thus enabling optical study of the anion binding properties. The rotaxane topology was confirmed by single‐crystal X‐ray structural analysis, demonstrating halogen bonding between the electrophilic iodine atoms and chloride anions. In 50 % H2O/CH3CN solvent mixtures the rotaxane host exhibits strong binding affinity and selectivity for chloride, bromide, and iodide over a range of oxoanions.  相似文献

We designed M1???C6H5X???HM2 (M1=Li+, Na+; X=Cl, Br; M2=Li, Na, BeH, MgH) complexes to enhance halogen–hydride halogen bonding with a cation–π interaction. The interaction strength has been estimated mainly in terms of the binding distance and the interaction energy. The results show that halogen–hydride halogen bonding is strengthened greatly by a cation–π interaction. The interaction energy in the triads is two to six times as much as that in the dyads. The largest interaction energy is ?8.31 kcal mol?1 for the halogen bond in the Li+???C6H5Br???HNa complex. The nature of the cation, the halogen donor, and the metal hydride influence the nature of the halogen bond. The enhancement effect of Li+ on the halogen bond is larger than that of Na+. The halogen bond in the Cl donor has a greater enhancement than that in the Br one. The metal hydride imposes its effect in the order HBeH<HMgH<HNa<HLi for the Cl complex and HBeH<HMgH<HLi<HNa for the Br complex. The large cooperative energy indicates that there is a strong interplay between the halogen–hydride halogen bonding and the cation–π interaction. Natural bond orbital and energy decomposition analyses indicate that the electrostatic interaction plays a dominate role in enhancing halogen bonding by a cation–π interaction.  相似文献

The title compound, (C11H22N3)[FeCl3(C11H21N3)], is one of the rare examples where an isolated ionic pair of the type [A]n+[EMX3]n (E is any non‐metal, M is any transition metal and X is any halogen) could be structurally characterized. Two short N—H⋯Cl contacts between the two ammonium H atoms and two of the three Cl atoms of the counter‐anion generate a six‐membered ring. The third Cl atom is involved in a weaker intramolecular hydrogen bond to the neutral 1,3‐diisopropyl‐4,5‐dimethyl‐4‐imidazolin‐2‐ylideneamine ligand.  相似文献

Halogen bonding between two negatively charged species, tetraiodo‐p‐benzoquinone anion radicals (I4Q?.) and iodide anions, was observed and characterized for the first time. X‐ray structural and EPR/UV–Vis spectral studies revealed that the anion–anion bonding led to the formation of crystals comprising 2D layers of I4Q?. anion radicals linked by iodides and separated by Et4N+ counter‐ions. Computational analysis suggested that the seemingly antielectrostatic halogen bonds in these systems were formed via a combination of several factors. First, an attenuation of the interionic repulsion by the solvent facilitated close approach of the anions leading to their mutual polarization. This resulted in the appearance of positively charged areas (σ‐holes) on the surface of the iodine substituents in I4Q?. responsible for the attractive interaction. Finally, the solid‐state associations were also stabilized by multicenter (4:4) halogen bonding between I4Q?. and iodide.  相似文献

The cation of the title compound, C13H18N3S+·NO3, consists of two subunits, viz. a planar indole moiety and a nonplanar thiouronium moiety. An isolated intermolecular hydrogen bond connects the cation with the nitrate anion. The crystal packing is additionally characterized by short intermolecular contacts between parallel indole systems. A topological analysis of the electron density revealed C—S single bonds and partial double bonding in the N—C—N group.  相似文献
