一般来说,供应商管理用户库存(VMI)能够给购买方带来更高的利润,而对供货方的影响却是不确定的。而现实中很多VMI策略都是由购买方主导的,购买方一般不愿和供货方分享收益,因此供货方必须自己判断是否接受VMI策略。本文在基于对安徽奇瑞汽车集团的零部件库存进行的调查的基础上,对VMI系统可行性分析的研究分两步进行:(1)假设供货方已经接受了购买方主导的VMI策略,它如何制定自己的最优送货策略;(2)通过比较供货方分别在RMI和VMI下的最小成本,供货方决定是否接受购买方主导的VMI策略。  相似文献

In this paper, we study the joint pricing and inventory replenishment problem for a periodic-review inventory system with random demand and dual suppliers, one of the suppliers is reliable but more expensive, the other supplier is less expensive but is unreliable with random yield. We characterize the firm’s optimal policies that simultaneously determine the optimal ordering and pricing decisions in each period over a finite planning horizon, and investigate the impacts of supply source diversification and supplier reliability on the firm and on its customers. We show that having source diversification or higher reliability of suppliers not only increases the firm’s expected profit, but also results in a lower optimal selling price, thus they benefit both the firm and its customers.  相似文献

为了吸引更多顾客,许多电子商务零售商允许顾客在一定时间内退货,导致其利润明显减少。同时,在补货时不仅产生依赖补货量的变动成本,而且会产生与补货量无关的固定成本。基于此,以最大化电子商务零售商的利润为目标,建立考虑顾客退货和固定成本的联合补货与定价模型,其中顾客的退货量与满足的需求呈正比。在一般需求情形下,部分刻画多期问题的最优策略;在特殊需求情形下,证明(s,S,p)策略对单期问题最优,并对多期问题的最优策略进行严格刻画。根据已有刻画为多期问题构造启发式策略。数值结果表明启发式策略近似最优;当初始库存水平足够高/低时,最优补货水平和定价随退货率与固定成本单调变化。关键词:联合补货与定价模型;顾客退货;固定成本;随机动态规划;最优策略  相似文献

In this paper we address a buyer–supplier arrangement of particular importance: total order quantity commitment (TOQC). Under the TOQC contract that has been negotiated between the buyer and the supplier, the former agrees to an obligation to procure a certain quantity of an item from the latter over the predetermined period of time (additional quantity can be obtained maybe at a different price). The optimal inventory replenishment policy is shown to be dual order-up-to levels under a given TOQC, and the optimal TOQC is also demonstrated to be mathematically straightforward to obtain.  相似文献

Stochastic inventory control theory has focused on the order and/or pricing policy when the length of the selling period is known. In contrast to this focus, we examine the optimal length of the selling period—which we refer to as market exit time—in the context of a novel inventory replenishment problem faced by a supplier of a new, trendy, and relatively expensive product with a short life cycle. An important characteristic of the problem is that the supplier applies a price skimming strategy over time and the demand is modeled as a nonhomogeneous Poisson process with an intensity that is dependent on time. The supplier's problems of finding the optimal order quantity and market exit time, with the objective of maximizing expected profit, is studied. Procedures are proposed for joint optimization of the objective function with respect to the order quantity and the market exit time. Then, the effects of the order quantity and market exit time on the supplier's profitability are explored on the basis of a quantitative investigation. Pricing and inventory management make up together revenue management, which is a significant effort to boost revenues out of available resources. Firms use various forms of dynamic pricing, including personalized pricing, markdowns, promotions, coupons, discounts, and clearance sales, to respond to market fluctuations and demand uncertainty. In this paper, we study a temporary price increase policy, a form of dynamic pricing, for a non-perishable product, a practice used by several giant retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, and Apple. We develop a continuous review inventory model that allows for joint replenishment and pricing decisions, where the lead time is not zero. A replenishment decision controls supply, while a pricing decision controls demand. A manager exercises a temporary price increase to slow demand and avoid a stock-out situation while waiting for a shipment, which may not necessarily increase revenues, but decrease stock-out costs. The problem is to solve for the optimal replenishment and the pricing policy parameters that maximize the long-run expected profit. That is, when and how much to order and when to raise the price. In this paper, the inventory level and time trigger a price increase. We solve many numerical examples and perform extensive sensitivity analyses. Our results show that compared to a model that focuses on fixed pricing, our model brings an additional increase in profit of about 13%.  相似文献

This study models a finite horizon inventory problem for deteriorating and fashion goods under trade credit and partial backlogging conditions. Demand may vary with price or time. The supplier can extend credit to the retailer. As a result, the retailer does not have to pay for goods immediately upon acquiring them, and can instead earn interest on the retail price of the goods between the time they are sold and the end of the credit period. The proposed model considers two-phase pricing and inventory decisions. In other words, it determines both the optimal prices and the lengths of the in-stock and stock-out period. This paper is the first to consider different price decisions for in-stock and stock-out periods under trade credit. We develop an algorithm to determine the optimal pricing and replenishment strategy while still maximizing the total profit. Further, this study shows that the proposed two-phase pricing strategy is superior to a one-phase pricing strategy in terms of profit maximization. Computational analysis illustrates the solution procedures and the impacts of the related parameters on decisions and profits. The results of this study can serve as references for business managers or administrators.  相似文献

Quantity discount has been a subject of study for a long time; however, little is known about its effect on integrated inventory models when price-sensitive demand is placed. The objective of this study is to find the optimal pricing and ordering strategies for an integrated inventory system when a quantity discount policy is applied. The pricing strategy discussed here is one in which the vendor offers a quantity discount to the buyer. Then, the buyer will adjust his retail price based on the purchasing cost, which will influence the customer demand as a result. Consequently, an integrated inventory model is established to find the optimal solutions for order quantity, retail price, and the number of shipments from vendor to buyer in one production run, so that the joint total profit incurred has the maximum value. Also, numerical examples and a sensitivity analysis are given to illustrate the results of the model.  相似文献

This paper considers a buyer that procures from its major supplier whose production is subject to random yield risk. To mitigate supply risk, the buyer can procure from another reliable supplier who provides quantity flexibility (QF) contract. Under both deterministic and stochastic demand, we study the buyer’s optimal procurement decisions. We analyze the structural properties of optimal solutions and identify the conditions under which the quantity flexibility procurement policy should be used. We also examine the effect of supply risk, flexibility, wholesale price and demand risk on the procurement decisions. We find that the higher supply risk and demand risk reduce the buyer’s profit but have different impact on the buyer’s order policy. For the QF supplier, it may not obtain more orders by providing larger flexibility to the buyer, on the contrary, doing this may benefit the risky supplier. For the QF supplier or risky supplier, given its competitor’s wholesale price, it can increase its order share by lower wholesale price.  相似文献

This paper studies the price markdown scheme in a supply chain that consists of a supplier, a contract manufacturer (CM), and a buyer (retailer). The buyer subcontracts the production of the final product to the CM. The CM buys the components from the supplier and charges the buyer a service fee for the final product produced. The price markdown is made possible by the supplier with the development of new manufacturing technologies that reduce the production cost for the sourced component. Consequently, the buyer adjusts the retail price in order to possibly stimulate stronger demand that may benefit both the supplier and the buyer. Under this scenario, we identify the optimal discount pricing strategies, capacity reservation, and the stocking policies for the supplier and the buyer. We also investigate the optimal inventory decision for the CM to cope with the price discount by considering both demand and delivery uncertainties. Our results suggest that higher production cost accelerates the effects of higher price sensitivity on lowering the optimal capacity and stocking policies in the supply chain. The effect of mean demand error on the optimal prices is relatively marginal compared with that from price sensitivity. We also found that increasing the standard deviation of the random demand does not necessarily increase the stocking level as one would predict. The results show that delivery uncertainty plays an important role in the inventory carried beyond the price break. We discuss potential extensions for future research.  相似文献

In the current global market, organizations use many promotional tools in order to increase their sales. One such tool is permissible delay in payments, i.e., the buyer does not have to pay for the goods purchased immediately rather can defer the payment for a prescribed period given by the supplier. This phenomenon motivates the retailer/buyer to order a large inventory lot so as to take full benefit of credit period. But the well decorated showroom (OW) with modern facilities has a limited storage capacity. Thus the retailer has to hire a rented warehouse to store the excess units. In this scenario, retailer usually adopts two types of dispatch policy: FIFO & LIFO, depending upon the situation, e.g., nature of items/deteriorating items, location of warehouse. Further in order to survive in the market, the retailer dynamically adjusts the prices of the goods to boost the demand and enhance the revenues.In the light of these facts, this paper develops an inventory model for deteriorating items with price-sensitive demand under permissible delay in payment in a two warehouse environment. Shortages are allowed and fully backlogged. The objective of this study is to find the optimal inventory and pricing policies so as to maximize the total average profit. Further, the different trade credit scenario has been exhibited with the help of a numerical example. A comprehensive sensitivity analysis has also been carried out to advocate the implication of FIFO and LIFO dispatch policy.  相似文献

Demand and procurement planning for consumer electronics products must cope with short life cycles, limited replenishment opportunities and a willingness to pay that is influenced by past prices and decreases over time. We therefore propose the use of an integrated pricing and inventory control model with a two-period linear demand model, in which demand also depends on the difference between a price-history-based reference price and the current price. For this model we prove that the optimal joint pricing/inventory policy for the replenishment opportunity after the first period is a base-stock list-price policy. That is, stock is either replenished up to a base-stock level and a list-price is charged, or it is not replenished and a discount is given that increases with the stock-level. Furthermore, we use real-world cell phone data to study the differences between an integrated policy and traditional sequential optimization, where prices are initially optimized based on the expected demand and ordering cost, and the resulting demand distribution is used to determine an optimal inventory policy. Finally, we discuss possible extensions of the model.  相似文献

本文研究需求依赖于上一周期服务水平、缺货时订单部分损失的两周期易变质品库存问题。分别考虑一次订货和多次订货两种情况,以平均利润最大化为目标构建库存模型,证明了模型解的存在性和唯一性,得到了最优库存服务水平和最优补货策略。最后,通过算例给出两个模型的应用,对重要参数进行了灵敏度分析,并且将两种模型的结果进行了对比分析。结果表明:订单损失率的增加会提高服务水平,但会使得利润降低;顾客期望服务水平的提高会降低第一阶段的服务水平,同时使利润减少;单位库存持有成本或变质率的增加会降低服务水平和平均利润。通常情况,企业通过多次订货能获得更大的利润,而只有当库存持有成本极小时,一次订购才能够获得更大的利润。同时,结果也表明:服务水平对库存策略有较大的影响,因此在进行库存决策时考虑服务水平具有重要的作用。  相似文献

This paper considers the problem of designing a returns policy in a supply chain from a supplier's perspective. The supply chain considered here is assumed to have one supplier and one retailer who serves a random demand of a product with a short life cycle. The retailer can return all the unsold products to the supplier with a partial refund. We found that if the retailer behaviour is rational, that is, ordering the optimal quantity to maximize its expected profit, then both retailer and supplier could benefit from the returns policy. Furthermore, we established that the optimal buyback price is independent of the mean of the random demand, but the variance of the demand has a significant impact on setting the optimal buyback price. The higher the variance the higher the optimal buyback price and the larger the profit gain of both parties. Numerical studies are employed to help understand the benefits of returns policies for the supplier, the retailer, and the whole supply chain.  相似文献

This paper develops the integrated inventory models with permissible delay in payment, in which customers’ demand is sensitive to the buyer’s price. The models consider the two-level trade credit policy in the vendor–buyer and buyer–customer relationships in supply chain management. A simple recursive solution procedure is proposed for the integrated models to determine the buyer’s optimal pricing and production/order strategy. Although the total profit from the buyer and vendor increases together, the buyer’s share lessens. To compensate the buyer’s loss due to the cooperative relationship, a negotiation system is presented in order to allocate the profit increase to the vendor and buyer to determine the pricing and production/order strategy. A numerical example and sensitivity analysis are provided to illustrate the proposed model. The results indicate that the total profit from the buyer and vendor together can increase, although a price discount is given to the buyer in the proposed models.  相似文献

This article considers a single product coordination system using a periodic review policy, participants of the system including a supplier and one or more heterogeneous buyers over a discrete time planning horizon in a manufacturing supply chain. In the coordination system, the demand of buyer in each period is deterministic, the supplier replenishes all the buyers, and all participants agree to plan replenishment to minimize total system costs. To achieve the objective of the coordination system, we make use of small lot sizing and frequent delivery policies (JIT philosophy) to transport inventory between supplier and buyers. Moreover, demand variations of buyers are allowed in the coordination system to suit real-world situations, especially for hi-tech industries. Furthermore, according to the mechanisms of minimizing the total relevant costs, the proposed method can obtain the optimal number of deliveries, shipping points and shipping quantities in each order for all participants in the coordination system.  相似文献

This paper considers a supplementary supply–order system in a multi-period situation. In each period, the buyer first places an initial order based on the demand prediction; he has the opportunity to place a supplementary order with the supplier after the demand of that period is realized. The supplier maintains an inventory, and decides the quantity to be produced and the quantity to be provided for the supplementary order in each time period. We formulate the problem as a multi-period inventory game, and derive the optimal production and order policies for the supplier and buyer, respectively. The existence and uniqueness of Nash equilibrium is proved in the generalized multi-period setting, and the closed-form Nash equilibrium solution is obtained when the parameters are stationary. Numerical study is performed to reveal more managerial insights. We find that the supplementary supply–order mechanism, if designed properly, can effectively improve the multi-period supply chain performance.  相似文献
