A-Monotonicity and Its Role in Nonlinear Variational Inclusions

The notion of A-monotonicity in the context of solving a new class of nonlinear variational inclusion problems is presented. Since A-monotonicity generalizes not only the well-explored maximal monotone mapping, but also a recently introduced and studied notion of H-monotone mapping, the results thus obtained are general in nature.Communicated by G. Sensitivity analysis for a system of parametric general quasi-variational-like inequality problems in uniformly smooth Banach spaces

In this paper, using the concept of P-η-proximal-point mapping introduced by Kazmi and Bhat [11], we study the existence and sensitivity analysis of the solution set of a system of parametric general quasi-variational-like inequality problems in uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Further under suitable conditions, we discuss the Lipschitz continuity of the solution set with respect to the parameters. The approach used in this paper may be treated as an extension and unification of approaches for studying sensitivity analysis for various important classes of variational inequalities given in [1,2,4,12,14–16,21–24].     

Compact images of spaces with a weaker metric topology

If X is a space that can be mapped onto a metric space by a one-to-one mapping, then X is said to have a weaker metric topology. In this paper, we give characterizations of sequence-covering compact images and sequentially-quotient compact images of spaces with a weaker metric topology. The main results are that (1) Y is a sequence-covering compact image of a space with a weaker metric topology if and only if Y has a sequence of point-finite cs-covers such that for each y ∈ Y. (2) Y is a sequentially-quotient compact image of a space with a weaker metric topology if and only if Y has a sequence of point-finite cs*-covers such that for each y ∈ Y. <Emphasis Type="Italic">g</Emphasis>-metrizable spaces and the images of semi-metric spaces

In this paper, we prove that a space X is a g-metrizable space if and only if X is a weak-open, π and σ-image of a semi-metric space, if and only if X is a strong sequence-covering, quotient, π and mssc-image of a semi-metric space, where “semi-metric” can not be replaced by “metric”. A splitting type algorithm for multi-valued complementarity problems

We consider a generalized complementarity problem whose cost mapping is multi-valued and is the sum of upper Z and antitone mappings. We suggest a simple splitting type algorithm which utilizes an extended Jacobi iteration. Its convergence is proved under mild assumptions. Preliminary results of numerical experiments confirm efficiency of the algorithm presented. This work was supported by RFBR–NNSF Grant No. 07-01-92101.     

Extension Operators Preserving Biholomorphic Mappings on Hartogs Domains*

In this paper, the authors extend the Roper-Suffridge operator on the generalized Hartogs domains. They mainly research the properties of the extended operator.By the characteristics of Hartogs domains and the geometric properties of subclasses of spirallike mappings, they obtain the extended Roper-Suffridge operator preserving almost starlikeness of complex order λ, almost spirallikeness of type β and order α, parabolic spirallikeness of type β and order ρ on the Hartogs domains in different co...     

Quasiconformal and harmonic mappings between Jordan domains

Let Ω and Ω₁ be Jordan domains, let μ ∈ (0, 1], and let be a harmonic homeomorphism. The object of the paper is to prove the following results: (a) If f is q.c. and ∂Ω, ∂Ω₁ ∈ C ^1,μ , then f is Lipschitz; (b) if f is q.c., ∂Ω, ∂Ω₁ ∈ C ^1,μ and Ω₁ is convex, then f is bi-Lipschitz; and (c) if Ω is the unit disk, Ω₁ is convex, and ∂Ω₁ ∈ C ^1,μ , then f is quasiconformal if and only if its boundary function is bi-Lipschitz and the Hilbert transform of its derivative is in L ^∞. These extend the results of Pavlović (Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn. 27:365–372, 2002).      

Extension ofUV n -valued mappings

A new method for extending upper semicontinuousUV ⁿ -valued mappings is introduced. Any upper semicontinuousUV ⁿ -valued mapping Ψ:A→Y of a closed subsetA of a separable metric spaceX into ann-connected, locallyn-connected complete metric spaceY satisfying the property of disjoint (n+1)-disks is proved to be extendable to an upper semicontinuousUV ⁿ -valued mapping Ψ′:X→Y such that Ψ′|a=Ψ. Images of locally compact metric spaces

We establish relationships between locally compact-metric spaces and all kinds of spaces with mk-system (compact k-network) by means of compact-covering mappings, quotient mapping and closed mappings. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

On <Emphasis Type="Italic">Γ</Emphasis>-convergence of quadratic functionals in the plane

In this paper, we prove that if a sequence of homeomorphisms , with bounded planar domains, of Sobolev space has uniformly equibounded distortions in EXP(Ω) and weakly converges to f in then the matrices A(x, f _j ) of the corresponding Laplace-Beltrami operators Γ-converge in the Orlicz–Sobolev space , where Q(t) = t ²log(e + t), to the matrix A(x, f) of the Laplace-Beltrami operator associated to f.      

Approximation Methods for a Common Fixed Point of a Finite Family of Nonexpansive Mappings

Let K be a nonempty closed and convex subset of a real Banach space E. Let T: K → E be a continuous pseudocontractive mapping and f:K → E a contraction, both satisfying weakly inward condition. Then for t ? (0, 1), there exists a sequence {y _t } ? K satisfying the following condition: y _t  = (1 ? t)f(y _t ) + tT(y _t ). Suppose further that {y _t } is bounded or F(T) ≠  and E is a reflexive Banach space having weakly continuous duality mapping J _? for some gauge ?. Then it is proved that {y _t } converges strongly to a fixed point of T, which is also a solution of certain variational inequality. Moreover, an explicit iteration process that converges strongly to a common fixed point of a finite family of nonexpansive mappings and hence to a solution of a certain variational inequality is constructed.     

Common fixed point theorems in probabilistic metric spaces

We extend the notion of R-weak commutativity and its variants to probabilistic metric spaces and prove common fixed point theorems concerning them. Examples are included to reflect upon the distinctiveness of the types of mappings defined in the paper.      

Mann iteration of weak convergence theorems in Banach space

In this paper, by using Mann＇s iteration process we will establish several weak convergence theorems for approximating a fixed point of k-strictly pseudocontractive mappings with respect to p in p-uniformly convex Banach spaces. Our results answer partially the open question proposed by Marino and Xu, and extend Reich＇s theorem from nonexpansive mappings to k-strict pseudocontractive mappings.     

On the convergence of the Ishikawa iterates associated with a pair of multi-valued mappings

Let X be a normed linear space and let S and T be multi-valued mappings of X into a family of closed, not necessarily compact subsets of X. In this paper some results on the convergence of the Ishikawa iterates associated with a pair S, T which satisfy the condition (8) below, are obtained. The ACL property of homeomorphisms under weak conditions

Convergence Theorems for Non-Self Mappings in CAT(0) Spaces

In this paper, we prove strong convergence of Mann iterative schemes to fixed points of multi-valued demicontractive non-self mappings in complete CAT(0) spaces under appropriate conditions. In addition, △? convergence or strong convergence of Mann iterative scheme to a fixed point of single-valued k-strictly pseudocontractive non-self mapping is obtained. Our theorems improve and unify most of the results in the literature.     

A Hummel–Seebeck type method for variational inclusions

We study the stability of a Hummel–Seebeck like method for solving variational inclusions of the form 0?∈?f(x)?+?G(x), where f is a single-valued function while G stands for a set-valued mapping, both of them acting in Banach spaces. Then, we investigate a measure of conditioning of these inclusions under canonical perturbations.
