On Ill-Determined Equations in Right Invertible Operator of Order one in Non-Commutative Case

In this paper we study a general equation in right invertible operator of order one in the case when either resolving operator I-AR or I-RA has a generalized almost inverse only. Moreover, we give the positive answer to the following question: Does the left invertibility (right invertibility, invertibility) of I-AR imply the left invertibility (right invertibility, invertibility) of the operator I-RA? (cf. [1], Open Question on p. 140).     

Graph Invertibility

Extending the work of Godsil and others, we investigate the notion of the inverse of a graph (specifically, of bipartite graphs with a unique perfect matching). We provide a concise necessary and sufficient condition for the invertibility of such graphs and generalize the notion of invertibility to multigraphs. We examine the question of whether there exists a “litmus subgraph” whose bipartiteness determines invertibility. As an application of our invertibility criteria, we quickly describe all invertible unicyclic graphs. Finally, we describe a general combinatorial procedure for iteratively constructing invertible graphs, giving rise to large new families of such graphs.     

Invertibility Conditions for Second-Order Differential Operators in the Space of Continuous Bounded Functions

We prove the invertibility of second-order differential operators with constant operator coefficients acting on the Banach space of bounded continuous functions on the real line under the condition that they are uniformly injective (in particular, left invertible) or surjective (in particular, right invertible). We show that if these operators are considered on the space of periodic functions, then the unilateral invertibility does not imply the invertibility of such operators. We obtain criteria for the injectivity, surjectivity, and invertibility of differential operators on the space of periodic functions.     

The invertibility of convolution type operators on a union of intervals and the corona theorem

The invertibility of convolution type operators on unions of intervals is studied. Sufficient conditions of invertibility for some classes of these operators are established. Solvability results forn-term corona problems are obtained using two different approaches: one involving reduction ton–1 Riemann-Hilbert problems in two variables and another involving reduction to two-term corona problems. The invertibility of the convolution operators on a union of intervals is also related to the invertibility of associated convolution operators on single intervals. Formulas for the inverse operators are given.Work partially supported by F. C. T. In this paper, the invertibility of nonnegative Hamiltonian operator with unbounded entries is studied, and the sufficient conditions for the everywhere defined bounded invertibility of nonnegative Hamiltonian operator are obtained.

On the invertibility of time series models

A generalized definition of invertibility is proposed and applied to linear, non-linear and bilinear models. It is shown that some recently studied non-linear models are not invertible, but conditions for invertibility can be achieved for the other models.     

Invertible sequences of bounded linear operators

In this paper, we study the invertibility of sequences consisting of finitely many bounded linear operators from a Hilbert space to others. We show that a sequence of operators is left invertible if and only if it is a g-frame. Therefore, our result connects the invertibility of operator sequences with frame theory.     

Invertibility of the Sum of Idempotents

We study necessary and sufficient conditions for the invertibility of the sum f+g when f and g are idempotents in a unital ring or bounded linear operators in Hilbert or Banach spaces. We describe the relation between the invertibility of f+g and f -g.     

Invertibility of 2 × 2 operator matrices

Properties of right invertible row operators, i.e., of 1 × 2 surjective operator matrices are studied. This investigation is based on a specific space decomposition. Using this decomposition, we characterize the invertibility of a 2 × 2 operator matrix. As an application, the invertibility of Hamiltonian operator matrices is investigated.

研究了无界上三角算子矩阵的可逆性问题,运用线性算子的近似零空间给出了无界上三角算子矩阵可逆的充分必要条件,运用近似零空间的概念给出了斜对角元有界非负Hamilton算子可逆的充分必要条件,进而推广了俄罗斯学者Kurina给出的对角元有界非负Hamilton算子可逆的充分条件。     

Half plane Toeplitz operators with generating functions having homogeneous discontinuities

We consider Toeplitz operators over the discrete half plane with generating functions admitting discontinuities of special kind which we call homogenous ones. Invertibility criteria for Wiener–Hopf plus Hankel operators with different almost periodic Fourier symbol matrices

Based on the different kinds of auxiliary operators and corresponding operator relations, we will present conditions which characterize the invertibility of matrix Wiener–Hopf plus Hankel operators having different Fourier symbols in the class of almost periodic elements. To reach such invertibility characterization, we introduce a new kind of factorization for AP matrix functions. Additionally, under certain conditions, we will obtain the one-sided and two-sided inverses of the matrix Wiener–Hopf plus Hankel operators in study.     

Local invertibility of adapted shifts on Wiener space,under finite energy condition

In this paper we study the connection between local invertibility and global invertibility of adapted shifts on Wiener space. First we go from the global to the local and we obtain an explicit formula for the inverse of a stopped adapted shift which is invertible. Then we take the opposite direction and we show that under finite energy condition, a shift which is locally invertible is also invertible. We work in a general framework which applies both to the classical Wiener space and to the Brownian sheet.     

Inverting Random Functions III: Discrete MLE Revisited

This paper continues our earlier investigations into the inversion of random functions in a general (abstract) setting. In Section 2, we investigate a concept of invertibility and the invertibility of the composition of random functions defined on finite sets. In Section 3, we resolve some questions concerning the number of samples required to ensure the accuracy of maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) in the presence of ‘nuisance’ parameters. A direct application to phylogeny reconstruction is given.     

A complete characterization of exponential stability for discrete dynamics

For a discrete dynamics defined by a sequence of bounded and not necessarily invertible linear operators, we give a complete characterization of exponential stability in terms of invertibility of a certain operator acting on suitable Banach sequence spaces. We connect the invertibility of this operator to the existence of a particular type of admissible exponents. For the bounded orbits, exponential stability results from a spectral property. Some adequate examples are presented to emphasize some significant qualitative differences between uniform and nonuniform behaviour.
