Single crystals of a cyclodextrin‐based metal–organic framework (MOF) infused with an ionic electrolyte and flanked by silver electrodes act as memristors. They can be electrically switched between low and high conductivity states that persist even in the absence of an applied voltage. In this way, these small blocks of nanoporous sugar function as a non‐volatile RRAM memory elements that can be repeatedly read, erased, and re‐written. These properties derive from ionic current within the MOF and the deposition of nanometer‐thin passivating layers at the anode flanking the MOF crystal. The observed phenomena are crucially dependent on the sub‐nanometer widths of the channels in the MOF, allowing the passage of only smaller ions. Conversely, with the electrolyte present but no MOF, there are no memristance or memory effects.  相似文献

A new HfIV‐based metal‐organic framework with UiO‐66 topology was synthesized via a one‐step solvothermal method by using 3‐methyl‐4‐phenylthieno[2,3‐b]thiophene‐2,5‐dicarboxylic acid (H2MPTDC) as a ligand. The MOF material showed a high stability in a broad pH range (from pH 2 to pH 12) in an aqueous medium. The presence of hydrophobic methyl and phenyl substituents in the carboxylic acid ligand and strong Hf?O bond play crucial roles in its stability. The new MOF material was systematically characterized by various techniques such as XRPD, N2 sorption, thermogravimetric analyses and FT‐IR spectroscopy. The photophysical properties of the MOF material were also examined by steady‐state and time‐resolved fluorescence studies. It was observed that the blue fluorescence of the MOF material was selectively quenched in the presence of Fe3+ ion in pure aqueous medium. A mechanistic study disclosed that quenching occurs via a strong inner filter effect (IFE) arising from Fe3+ ion in aqueous medium. Interestingly, the fluorescence of the MOF material can be recovered by elimination of the IFE of Fe3+ ion via reduction of Fe3+ ion by ascorbic acid (AA). Based on the fluorescence recovery by AA, a MOF based on‐off‐on probe was developed for the sensing of Fe3+ ion and AA in aqueous medium. Inspired by this reversible sensing event, we demonstrate basic (NOT, OR, YES, INHIBIT and IMP) and higher integrated logic operations utilizing this fluorescent MOF. This MOF‐based logic systems could be potentially used for next‐generation logic‐gate based analytical applications as well as for the detection and discrimination of targeted molecules in various complex domains.  相似文献

A two‐component core–shell UiO‐68 type metal–organic framework (MOF) with a nonfunctionalized interior for efficient guest uptake and storage and a thin light‐responsive outer shell was prepared by initial solvothermal MOF synthesis followed by solvent‐assisted linker exchange. The bulky shell linker features two tetra‐ortho‐fluorinated azobenzene moieties to exploit their advantageous photoisomerization properties. The obtained perfect octahedral MOF single crystals can be switched repeatedly and with an unprecedented efficiency between E‐ and Z‐rich states using visible light only. Due to the high photoswitch density per pore of the shell layer, its steric demand and thus molecular uptake (and release) can be conveniently modulated upon green and blue light irradiation. Therefore, the “smart” shell acts as a light‐controlled kinetic barrier or “gate” for the diffusion of cargo molecules in and out of the MOF crystals.  相似文献

Microporous amorphous hydrophobic silica materials with well‐defined pores were synthesized by replication of the metal–organic framework (MOF) [Cu3(1,3,5‐benzenetricarboxylate)2] (HKUST‐1). The silica replicas were obtained by using tetramethoxysilane or tetraethoxysilane as silica precursors and have a micro–meso binary pore system. The BET surface area, the micropore volume, and the mesopore volume of the silica replica, obtained by means of hydrothermal treatment at 423 K with tetraethoxysilane, are 620 m2g?1, 0.18 mL g?1, and 0.55 mL g?1, respectively. Interestingly, the silica has micropores with a pore size of 0.55 nm that corresponds to the pore‐wall thickness of the template MOF. The silica replica is hydrophobic, as confirmed by adsorption analyses, although the replica has a certain amount of silanol groups. This hydrophobicity is due to the unique condensation environment of the silica precursors in the template MOF.  相似文献

We report a new method to promote the conductivities of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) by 5 to 7 magnitudes, thus their potential in electrochemical applications can be fully revealed. This method combines the polarity and porosity advantages of MOFs with the conductive feature of conductive polymers, in this case, polypyrrole (ppy), to construct ppy‐MOF compartments for the confinement of sulfur in Li–S batteries. The performances of these ppy‐S‐in‐MOF electrodes exceed those of their MOF and ppy counterparts, especially at high charge–discharge rates. For the first time, the critical role of ion diffusion to the high rate performance was elucidated by comparing ppy‐MOF compartments with different pore geometries. The ppy‐S‐in‐PCN‐224 electrode with cross‐linked pores and tunnels stood out, with a high capacity of 670 and 440 mAh g?1 at 10.0 C after 200 and 1000 cycles, respectively, representing a new benchmark for long‐cycle performance at high rate in Li–S batteries.  相似文献

The aluminum‐based metal–organic framework (MOF) made from 2‐aminoterephthalate is a photocatalyst for oxygen evolution. This MOF can be modified by incorporating Ni2+ cations into the pores through coordination to the amino groups, and the resulting MOF is an efficient photocatalyst for overall water splitting.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have demonstrated great potentials in a variety of important applications. To enhance the inherent properties and endow materials with multifunctionality, the rational design and synthesis of MOFs with nanoscale porosity and hollow feature is highly desired and remains a great challenge. In this work, the formation of a series of well‐defined MOF (MOF‐5, FeII‐MOF‐5, FeIII‐MOF‐5) hollow nanocages by a facile solvothermal method, without any additional supporting template is reported. A surface‐energy‐driven mechanism may be responsible for the formation of hollow nanocages. The addition of pre‐synthesized poly(vinylpyrrolidone)‐ (PVP) capped noble‐metal nanoparticles into the synthetic system of MOF hollow nanocages yields the yolk–shell noble metal@MOF nanostructures. The present strategy to fabricate hollow and yolk–shell nanostructures is expected to open up exciting opportunities for developing a novel class of inorganic–organic hybrid functional nanomaterials.  相似文献

Modular optimization of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) was realized by incorporation of coordinatively unsaturated single atoms in a MOF matrix. The newly developed MOF can selectively capture and photoreduce CO2 with high efficiency under visible‐light irradiation. Mechanistic investigation reveals that the presence of single Co atoms in the MOF can greatly boost the electron–hole separation efficiency in porphyrin units. Directional migration of photogenerated excitons from porphyrin to catalytic Co centers was witnessed, thereby achieving supply of long‐lived electrons for the reduction of CO2 molecules adsorbed on Co centers. As a direct result, porphyrin MOF comprising atomically dispersed catalytic centers exhibits significantly enhanced photocatalytic conversion of CO2, which is equivalent to a 3.13‐fold improvement in CO evolution rate (200.6 μmol g?1 h?1) and a 5.93‐fold enhancement in CH4 generation rate (36.67 μmol g?1 h?1) compared to the parent MOF.  相似文献

A three‐dimensional (3D) hierarchical MOF‐on‐reduced graphene oxide (MOF‐on‐rGO) compartment was successfully synthesized through an in situ reduced and combined process. The unique properties of the MOF‐on‐rGO compartment combining the polarity and porous features of MOFs with the high conductivity of rGO make it an ideal candidate as a sulfur host in lithium–sulfur (Li‐S) batteries. A high initial discharge capacity of 1250 mAh g?1 at a current density of 0.1 C (1.0 C=1675 mAh g?1) was reached using the MOF‐on‐rGO based electrode. At the rate of 1.0 C, a high specific capacity of 601 mAh g?1 was still maintained after 400 discharge–charge cycles, which could be ascribed to the synergistic effect between MOFs and rGO. Both the hierarchical structures of rGO and the polar pore environment of MOF retard the diffusion and migration of soluble polysulfide, contributing to a stable cycling performance. Moreover, the spongy‐layered rGO can buffer the volume expansion and contraction changes, thus supplying stable structures for Li‐S batteries.  相似文献

Described here is a new and viable approach to achieve Pd catalysis for aerobic oxidation systems (AOSs) by circumventing problems associated with both the oxidation and the catalysis through an all‐in‐one strategy, employing a robust metal–organic framework (MOF). The rational assembly of a PdII catalyst, phenanthroline ligand, and CuII species (electron‐transfer mediator) into a MOF facilitates the fast regeneration of the PdII active species, through an enhanced electron transfer from in situ generated Pd0 to CuII, and then CuI to O2, trapped in the framework, thus leading to a 10 times higher turnover number than that of the homogeneous counterpart for Pd‐catalyzed desulfitative oxidative coupling reactions. Moreover, the MOF catalyst can be reused five times without losing activity. This work provides the first exploration of using a MOF as a promising platform for the development of Pd catalysis for AOSs with high efficiency, low catalyst loading, and reusability.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising materials for gas‐separation and air‐filtration applications. However, for these applications, MOF crystallites need to be incorporated in robust and manageable support materials. We used chitin‐based networks from a marine sponge as a non‐toxic, biodegradable, and low‐weight support material for MOF deposition. The structural properties of the material favor predominant nucleation of the MOF crystallites at the inside of the hollow fibers. This composite has a hierarchical pore system with surface areas up to 800 m2 g−1 and pore volumes of 3.6 cm3 g−1, allowing good transport kinetics and a very high loading of the active material. Ammonia break‐through experiments highlight the accessibility of the MOF crystallites and the adsorption potential of the composite indicating their high potential for filtration applications for toxic industrial gases.  相似文献

A novel luminescent microporous lanthanide metal–organic framework (Ln‐MOF) based on a urea‐containing ligand has been successfully assembled. Structural analysis revealed that the framework features two types of 1D channels, with urea N?H bonds projecting into the pores. Luminescence studies have revealed that the Ln‐MOF exhibits high sensitivity, good selectivity, and a fast luminescence quenching response towards Fe3+, CrVI anions, and picric acid. In particular, in the detection of Cr2O72? and picric acid, the Ln‐MOF can be simply and quickly regenerated, thus exhibiting excellent recyclability. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first example of a multi‐responsive luminescent Ln‐MOF sensor for Fe3+, CrVI anions, and picric acid based on a urea derivative. This Ln‐MOF may potentially be used as a multi‐responsive regenerable luminescent sensor for the quantitative detection of toxic and harmful substances.  相似文献

Herein, we developed a partially controlled pyrolysis strategy to create evenly distributed NiO nanoparticles within NiFe‐MOF nanosheets (MOF NSs) for electrochemical synthesis of H2O2 by a two‐electron oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The elemental Ni can be partially transformed to NiO and uniformly distributed on the surface of the MOF NSs, which is crucial for the formation of the particular structure. The optimized MOF NSs‐300 exhibits the highest activity for ORR with near‐zero overpotential and excellent H2O2 selectivity (ca. 99 %) in 0.1 m KOH solution. A high‐yield H2O2 production rate of 6.5 mol gcat?1 h?1 has also been achieved by MOF NSs‐300 in 0.1 m KOH and at 0.6 V (vs. RHE). In contrast to completely pyrolyzed products, the enhanced catalytic activities of partially pyrolyzed MOF NSs‐300 originates mainly from the retained MOF structure and the newly generated NiO nanoparticles, forming the coordinatively unsaturated Ni atoms and tuning the performance towards electrochemical H2O2 synthesis.  相似文献

We present a new metal–organic framework (MOF) built from lanthanum and pyrazine‐2,5‐dicarboxylate (pyzdc) ions. This MOF, [La(pyzdc)1.5(H2O)2] ? 2 H2O, is microporous, with 1D channels that easily accommodate water molecules. Its framework is highly robust to dehydration/hydration cycles. Unusually for a MOF, it also features a high hydrothermal stability. This makes it an ideal candidate for air drying as well as for separating water/alcohol mixtures. The ability of the activated MOF to adsorb water selectively was evaluated by means of thermogravimetric analysis, powder and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and adsorption studies, indicating a maximum uptake of 1.2 mmol g?1 MOF. These results are in agreement with the microporous structure, which permits only water molecules to enter the channels (alcohols, including methanol, are simply too large). Transient breakthrough simulations using water/methanol mixtures confirm that such mixtures can be separated cleanly using this new MOF.  相似文献

Ultrathin metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets (NSs) offer potential for many applications, but the synthetic strategies are largely limited to top‐down, low‐yield exfoliation methods. Herein, Ni–M–MOF (M=Fe, Al, Co, Mn, Zn, and Cd) NSs are reported with a thickness of only several atomic layers, prepared by a large‐scale, bottom‐up solvothermal method. The solvent mixture of N,N‐dimethylacetamide and water plays key role in controlling the formation of these two‐dimensional MOF NSs. The MOF NSs can be directly used as efficient electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction, in which the Ni–Fe–MOF NSs deliver a current density of 10 mA cm?2 at a low overpotential of 221 mV with a small Tafel slope of 56.0 mV dec?1, and exhibit excellent stability for at least 20 h without obvious activity decay. Density functional theory calculations on the energy barriers for OER occurring at different metal sites confirm that Fe is the active site for OER at Ni–Fe–MOF NSs.  相似文献

A water‐stable luminescent terbium‐based metal–organic framework (MOF), {[Tb(L1)1.5(H2O)] ? 3 H2O}n (Tb‐MOF), with rod‐shaped secondary building units (SBUs) and honeycomb‐type tubular channels has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The high green emission intensity and the microporous nature of the Tb‐MOF indicate that it can potentially be used as a luminescent sensor. In this work, we show that Tb‐MOF can selectively sense Fe3+ and Al3+ ions from mixed metal ions in water through different detection mechanisms. In addition, it also exhibits high sensitivity for 2,4,6‐trinitrophenol (TNP) in the presence of other nitro aromatic compounds in aqueous solution by luminescence quenching experiments.  相似文献

The controlled synthesis of multicomponent metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) allows for the precise placement of multiple cooperative functional groups within a framework, leading to emergent synergistic effects. Herein, we demonstrate that turn‐on fluorescence sensors can be assembled by combining a fluorophore and a recognition moiety within a complex cavity of a multicomponent MOF. An anthracene‐based fluorescent linker and a hemicyanine‐containing CN?‐responsive linker were sequentially installed into the lattice of PCN‐700. The selective binding of CN? to hemicyanine inhibited the energy transfer between the two moieties, resulting in a fluorescence turn‐on effect. Taking advantage of the high tunability of the MOF platform, the ratio between anthracene and the hemicyanine moiety could be fine‐tuned in order to maximize the sensitivity of the overall framework. The optimized MOF‐sensor had a CN?‐detection limit of 0.05 μm , which is much lower than traditional CN? fluorescent sensors (about 0.2 μm ).  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) as selectivity regulators for catalytic reactions have attracted much attention, especially MOFs and metal nanoparticle (NP) shelled structures, e.g., MOFs@NPs@MOFs. Nevertheless, making hydrophilic MOF shells for gathering hydrophobic reactants is challenging. Described here is a new and viable approach employing conjugated micro‐ and mesoporous polymers with iron(III) porphyrin (FeP‐CMPs) as a new shell to fabricate MIL‐101@Pt@FeP‐CMP. It is not only hydrophobic and porous for enriching reactants, but also possesses iron sites to activate C=O bonds, thereby regulating the selectivity for cinnamyl alcohol in the hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde. Interestingly, MIL‐101@Pt@FeP‐CMPsponge can achieve a high turnover frequency ( 1516.1 h−1), with 97.3 % selectivity for cinnamyl alcohol at 97.6 % conversion.  相似文献
