Silica‐supported terpyridine palladium(II) was prepared and used as an effective and recyclable catalyst in Mizoroki–Heck and Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reactions. The catalyst was very effective for the Mizoroki–Heck reaction of aryl halides with olefins and conversion was in most cases excellent. The catalyst showed good thermal stability (up to 230 °C) and could be recovered and reused for four reaction cycles. The Suzuki coupling of aryl iodides with aryl boronic acids in the presence of the catalyst was also investigated and the reaction proceeded with a short reaction time and excellent conversion. To address the obstacles facing the use of palladium‐based homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts in C─C cross‐coupling reactions, a novel semi‐heterogeneous support was developed based on hyperbranched poly(ethylene glycol)‐block ‐poly(citric acid)‐functionalized Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4@PCA‐b ‐PEG). Because of the surface modification of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles with amphiphilic and hyperbranched polymers (PCA‐b ‐PEG), these hybrid materials are not only soluble in a wide range of solvents (e.g. water, ethanol and dimethylformamide) but also are able to trap Pd2+ ions via complex formation of free carboxyl groups of the PCA dendrimer with metal ions. The reduction of trapped palladium ions in the dendritic shell of Fe3O4@PCA‐b ‐PEG leads to immobilized palladium nanoparticles. The morphology and structural features of the catalyst were characterized using various microscopic and spectroscopic techniques. The catalyst was effectively used in the palladium‐catalysed Mizoroki–Heck coupling reaction in water as a green solvent. In addition, the catalyst can be easily recovered from the reaction mixture by applying an external magnetic field and reused for more than ten consecutive cycles without much loss in activity, exhibiting an example of a sustainable and green methodology.  相似文献

Two Pd(II)–NHC complexes bearing benzimidazole and pyridine groups have been successfully prepared and fully characterized by NMR and X‐ray diffraction analysis. The structure of palladium complexes are a typical square‐planar with palladium surrounded by two pairs of trans‐arranged benzimidazole and carbene ligands. The Pd–NHC complexes have been proved to be a highly efficient catalyst for the Mizoroki–Heck coupling reaction of aryl halides with various substituted acrylates under mild conditions in excellent yields. We report on the effect of processing conditions on rheology, thermal and electrical properties of nanocomposites containing 0.02–0.3 wt % multiwall carbon nanotubes in an epoxy resin. The influence of the sonication, the surface functionalization during mixing, as well as the application of external magnetic field (EMF) throughout the curing process was examined. Rheological tests combined with optical microscopy visualization are proved as a very useful methodology to determine the optimal processing conditions for the preparation of the nanocomposites. The Raman spectra provide evidence for more pronounced effect on the functionalized with hardener compositions, particularly by curing upon application of EMF. Different chain morphology of CNTs is created depending of the preparation conditions, which induced different effects on the thermal and electrical properties of the nanocomposites. The thermal degradation peak is significantly shifted towards higher temperatures by increasing the nanotube content, this confirming that even the small amount of carbon nanotubes produces a strong barrier effect for the volatile products during the degradation. The ac conductivity measurements revealed lower values of the percolation threshold (pc) in the range of 0.03–0.05 wt %. CNTs for the nanocomposites produced by preliminary dispersing of nanotubes in the epoxy resin, compared to those prepared by preliminary functionalization of the nanotubes in the amine hardener. This is attributed to the higher viscosity and stronger interfacial interactions of the amine hardener/CNT dispersion which restricts the reorganization of the nanotubes. The application of the EMF does not influence the pc value but the dc conductivity values (σdc) of the nanocomposites increased at about one order of magnitude due to the development of the aforementioned chain structure. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Five families of new controlled epoxy thermosets (CENs) using three monophenol chain terminators were prepared to study systematic changes in the structure and amount of the monophenol and the initial molecular weight between crosslinks (Mc,i) on the properties of epoxy thermosets. Glass transition temperature (Tg) decreases with monophenol mole fraction (χ) in proportion to both the concentration and flexibility of the chain terminator. Distinct serial relations for Tg depression were observed for the three Mc,i families. Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) shows significant perturbations of the relaxation behavior with added terminator as evidenced by decrease in peak tan δ and in post Tg damping. The rubbery coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) increases with monophenol concentration only at χ > 0.05 and shows distinct curvature versus temperature, but is largely invariant with monophenol flexibility. The thermal stability of terminated CENs decreases only slightly with χ and little difference was found with monophenol structure. Most surprisingly, fracture toughness decreases markedly and discontinuously with χ depending on Mc,i. The values of the critical monophenol concentration at which fracture toughness markedly decreases (χc) are inversely proportional to Mc,i but are independent of monophenol flexibility. No correlation of χc with any of the calculated network structure parameters was apparent. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 46: 1632–1640, 2008  相似文献

A new and efficient nanoparticle–N‐heterocyclic carbene–palladium complex was synthesized and characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive X‐ray analysis, X‐ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, elemental analysis, inductively coupled plasma analysis and vibrating sample magnetometry. This catalytic system was found to be a highly active catalyst in the Mizoroki–Heck and Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reactions. These reactions were best performed in dimethylformamide and water, respectively, in the presence of only 0.054 mol% of palladium under mild conditions. Moreover, the catalyst could be recovered easily and reused at least ten times without any considerable loss of its catalytic activity. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The purpose of this work was to synthesize and characterize a new magnetic polymer nanosphere‐supported palladium(II) acetate catalyst for reactions requiring harsh conditions. In this regard, an air‐stable, moisture‐stable and highly efficient heterogenized palladium was synthesized by the coordination of palladium(II) acetate with poly(2‐acrylamido‐2‐methyl‐1‐propanesulfonic acid)‐grafted modified magnetic nanoparticles with a core–shell structure. The structure of the newly developed catalyst was characterized using various techniques. The catalytic activity of the resultant nano‐organometallic catalyst was evaluated in Mizoroki–Heck and Suzuki–Miyaura reactions to afford the corresponding coupling products in good to excellent yields. High selectivity as well as outstanding turnover number (14 143, 4900) and turnover frequency (28 296, 7424) values were recorded for the catalyst in Suzuki–Miyaura and Mizoroki–Heck reactions, respectively. Magnetic separation and recycling of the catalyst for at least six runs became possible without any significant loss of efficiency or any detectable palladium leaching.  相似文献

A suitable approach to stabilize palladium nanoparticles (Pd NPs), with an average diameter of 3–4 nm, on magnetic polymer is described. A new magnetic polymer containing 4′‐(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐2,2′:6′,2″‐terpyridine (HPTPy) ligand was prepared by the polymerization of itaconic acid (ITC) as a monomer and trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) as a cross‐linker and fully characterized. Pd NPs embedded on the magnetic polymer were successfully applied in Suzuki–Miyaura and Mizoroki–Heck coupling reactions under low palladium loading conditions, and provided the corresponding products with excellent yields (up to 98%) and high catalytic activities (TOF up to 257 hr?1). Also, the catalyst can be easily separated and reused for at least consecutive five times with a small drop in catalytic activity.  相似文献

A heterometallic organic framework {Pb[Pd(bpydc)Cl2]DMF}n ( 1 ) (H2bpydc = 2,2′‐bipyridine‐5,5′‐dicarboxylic acid) was synthesized via a one‐pot solvothermal method and characterized using thermogravimetric analysis, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy as well as powder and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The crystal structure of 1 indicates that, in metalloligand Pd(bpydc)Cl2, every Pd atom adopts a square planar coordination mode with two chloride ions and two nitrogen atoms from bpydc, and the carboxyl groups of Pd(bpydc)Cl2 connect Pb atoms to form a one‐dimensional chain along the crystallographic a‐axis, which is interlinked via metalloligands to form a two‐dimensional layer structure. This complex is highly active, stable and recyclable as a catalyst for the Suzuki–Miyaura and Heck reactions of a wide range of aryl halides including electron‐rich and electron‐poor aryl iodides/bromides, affording the corresponding products in good to excellent yields. The rapid development of nanomaterials, particularly advanced hybrid nanoparticles, has made new opportunities for the design and fabrication of high‐performance metal‐based catalysts. However, generating metal nanoparticles of desired size without aggregation is an important challenge for enhancing the catalytic activity of metal nanoparticles supported in the host matrix. In this work, a hybrid nanoporous material, namely Pd nanoparticles@N‐heterocyclic carbene@ZIF‐8, with a high internal surface area was successfully prepared using a dispersed anionic sulfonated N‐heterocyclic carbene–Pd(II) precursor inside the cavities of zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF‐8) using an impregnation approach followed by reduction with NaBH4. The anionic sulfonated N‐heterocyclic carbene was found to be a superb ligand for the stabilization of Pd nanoparticles in the pores of ZIF‐8. The resulting system was applied to the Mizoroki–Heck cross‐coupling reaction, in which the catalyst showed high catalytic activity under mild reaction conditions.  相似文献

A phosphorus-containing oligomer, bis(3-hydroxyphenyl) phenyl phosphate (BHPP), was synthesized through the reaction of phenyl dichlorophosphate and 1,3-dihydroxybenzene, and characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, and 1H NMR and 31P NMR spectroscopy. Consequently, the phosphate-based epoxy resins with a phosphorus content of 1 and 2 wt % were prepared via the reaction of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A with BHPP and bisphenol-A, and were confirmed with Fourier transform IR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. Phenolic melamine, Novolak, and dicyanodiamide were used as curing agents to prepare the thermoset resins with the control and the phosphate-based epoxy resins. Thermal properties and thermal degradation behavior of these thermoset resins were investigated by using differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. The thermoset resins cured with phenolic melamine exhibited higher glass-transition temperatures than the other cured resins owing to the high rigidity of their molecular chain. Thermogravimetric analysis studies demonstrated that the decomposition temperatures of the thermoset resins cured with Novolak were higher than those of the others. A synergistic effect from the combination of the phosphate-based epoxy resin and the nitrogen-containing curing agent can result in a great improvement of the flame retardance for their thermoset resins.  相似文献

Novel epoxy‐clay nanocomposites have been prepared by epoxy and organoclays. Polyoxypropylene triamine (Jeffamine T‐403), primary polyethertriamine (Jeffamine T‐5000) and three types of polyoxypropylene diamine (Jeffamine D‐230, D‐400, D‐2000) with different molecular weight were used to treat Na‐montmorillonite (MMT) to form organoclays. The preparation involves the ion exchange of Na+ in MMT with the organic ammonium group in Jeffamine compounds. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) confirms the intercalation of these organic moieties to form Jeffamine‐MMT intercalates. Jeffamine D‐230 was used as a swelling agent for the organoclay and curing agent. It was established that the d001 spacing of MMT in epoxy‐clay nanocomposites depends on the silicate modification. Although XRD data did not show any apparent order of the clay layers in the T5000‐MMT/epoxy nanocomposite, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed the presence of multiplets with an average size of 5 nm and the average spacing between multiplets falls in the range of 100 Å. The multiplets clustered into mineral rich domains with an average size of 140 nm. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) reveals the absence of mineral aggregate. Nanocomposites exhibit significant increase in thermal stability in comparison to the original epoxy. The effect of the organoclay on the hardness and toughness properties of crosslinked polymer matrix was studied. The hardness of all the resulting materials was enhanced with the inclusion of organoclay. A three‐fold increase in the energy required for breaking the test specimen was found for T5000‐MMT/epoxy containing 7 wt% of organoclay as compared to that of pure epoxy. Polyamidoamine (PAMAM) is one of the most interesting types of hyperbranched polymers that carry a large number of amino groups on its surface. PAMAM has gained significant attention from synthetic organic chemists due to its structural characteristics, controllable structure, inner porosity, and ability to trap a wide range of ions and molecules. So, in this work, the PAMAM dendrimer was synthesized, grafted onto the surface of magnetite nanoparticles, and the resulting hybrid nanoparticles were then employed as suitable host for immobilizing cobalt nanoparticles. The newly developed catalyst was well characterized by Fourier transform‐infrared, X‐ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, field emission‐scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy, element mapping and energy‐dispersive X‐ray analysis. The efficiency of the as‐prepared nanocatalyst was evaluated for the Mizoroki–Heck cross‐coupling reactions. The MNP@PAMAM‐Co represented perfect catalytic efficiency and high selectivity for the Mizoroki–Heck cross‐coupling reaction compared with previously reported catalysts. The catalyst separation from the reaction mixture was easily achieved with the assistance of an external magnetic field, and its recycling was also investigated for five consecutive runs. Hot filtration confirmed no leaching of the active metal during the Heck coupling.  相似文献

To investigate the effect of catalysts on the thermal, rheological, and mechanical properties of an epoxy system, a resin based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol‐A (DGEBA) was cured by two cationic latent thermal catalysts, N‐benzylpyrazinium hexafluoroantimonate (BPH) and N‐benzylquinoxalinium hexafluoroantimonate (BQH). Differential scanning calorimetry was used for the thermal characterization of the epoxy systems. Near‐infrared spectroscopy was employed to examine the cure reaction between the DGEBA and the latent thermal catalysts used. The rheological properties of the blend systems were investigated under an isothermal condition with a rheometer. To characterize the mechanical properties of the systems, flexure, fracture toughness (KIC), and impact tests were performed. The phase morphology was studied with scanning electron microscopy of the fractured surfaces of mechanical test samples. The conversion and cure activation energy of the DGEBA/BQH system were higher than those of the DGEBA/BPH system. The crosslinking activation energy showed a result similar to that obtained from the cure kinetics of the blend systems. The flexure strength, KIC, and impact properties of the DGEBA/BQH system were also superior to those of the DGEBA/BPH system. This was a result of the substituted benzene group of the BQH catalyst, which increased the crosslink density and structural stability of the epoxy system studied. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A convenient, mild and cost‐effective synthesis of palladium nanoparticles stabilized by a mixture of natural carbohydrate beads (gum arabic and pectin) as a new bio‐organometallic catalyst is reported. Powder X‐ray diffraction, transmission and scanning electron microscopies and energy‐dispersive X‐ray and UV–visible spectroscopies were employed to characterize this supported Pd nanoparticles/gum arabic/pectin catalyst. The nanocatalyst exhibited efficient activity in Mizoroki–Heck cross‐coupling reactions between various aryl halides and n ‐butyl acrylate under solvent‐free conditions. The catalyst can easily be recovered from the reaction system and reused several times with high yields. The products were obtained in short reaction times with excellent yields.  相似文献

An efficient catalytic system based on a new palladium–bis(oxazoline) ( Pd-BOX-1 ) complex has been developed. The complex Pd-BOX-1 adopts a legless chair‐type structure where the distorted square planar [PdN2Cl2] moiety and the benzene ring spacer represent the seat and the chair back, respectively. The catalytic activity of Pd-BOX-1 has been investigated in dimethylformamide–water under aerobic and mild conditions in Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reactions of arylboronic acids with aryl iodides, aryl bromides and aryl chlorides, Mizoroki–Heck coupling reactions of aryl halides with styrene derivatives, and Sonogashira coupling reactions of aryl halides with terminal alkynes. A wide range of functional groups as substituents on the arylboronic acids and aryl halides were considered. Pd-BOX-1 demonstrates exceptional air and moisture stability. Of note, the catalyst system based on Pd-BOX-1 shows high recycling ability in Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reactions in dimethylformamide–water without any loss in catalytic activity. A novel and task‐specific nano‐magnetic Schiff base ligand with phosphate spacer using 2‐aminoethyl dihydrogen phosphate instead of usual coating agents, i.e. tetraethoxysilane and 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane, for coating of nano‐magnetic Fe3O4 is introduced. The nano‐magnetic Schiff base ligand with phosphate spacer as a novel catalyst was synthesized and fully characterized using infrared spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, scanning and transmission electron microscopies, thermogravimetry, derivative thermogravimetry, vibrating sample magnetometry, atomic force microscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy. The resulting task‐specific nano‐magnetic Schiff base ligand with phosphate spacer was successfully employed as a magnetite Pd nanoparticle‐supported catalyst for Sonogashira and Mizoroki–Heck C–C coupling reactions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the synthesis and applications of magnetic nanoparticles of Fe3O4@O2PO2(CH2)2NH2 as a suitable spacer for the preparation of a designable Schiff base ligand and its corresponding Pd complex. So the present work can open up a new and promising insight in the course of rational design, synthesis and applications of various task‐specific magnetic nanoparticle complexes. The Grignard metathesis reaction of 2,5‐dibromo‐3‐(5′‐hexylpyridine‐2′‐yl)thiophene ( M1 ) with i‐PrMgCl afforded 5‐bromo‐2‐chloromagnesio‐3‐(5′‐hexylpyridine‐2′‐yl)thiophene ( GM1 ) in the 86% selectivity. The Kumada coupling polymerization by Ni(dppp)Cl2 gave poly M1 having the roughly controlled molecular weight between 6700 and 23,400. The characterization using the gel permeation chromatographic and matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization‐time of flight mass spectra indicated the diffusion of the nickel catalyst from the propagating end. Based on the GC and 1H NMR spectra, the head‐to‐tail content of poly M1 was calculated to be 89%. The regioselective Grignard metathesis reactions of 5,5′‐dibromo‐4‐(5″‐hexylpyridine‐2″‐yl)‐2,2′‐bithiophene ( M2 ) and 5,5′‐dibromo‐4‐(5″‐hexylpyrimidine‐2″‐yl)‐2,2′‐bithiophene ( M3 ) also occurred at the ortho‐position of the nitrogen heterocycle. The Kumada coupling polymerizations gave poly M2 and poly M3 having the head‐to‐tail content of 75% and 85%, respectively. The UV–vis spectra of polymers suggested that the polymer conformation becomes more planar in the order of poly M1 < poly M3 < poly M2 , which was investigated by the theoretical calculation of the model oligomers. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Herein we report a new method for the synthesis and characterization of PVP‐stabilized palladium(0) nanoclusters and their enhanced catalytic activity in Suzuki coupling and Heck reactions of aryl bromides with phenylboronic acid and styrene, respectively, under mild conditions. The PVP‐stabilized palladium(0) nanoclusters with a particle size of 4.5 ± 1.1 nm were prepared using a new method: refluxing a mixture of potassium tetrachloropalladate(II) and PVP in methanol at 80 °C for 1 h followed by reduction with sodium borohydride. Palladium(0) nanoclusters prepared in this way were stable in solution for weeks, could be isolated as solid materials and were characterized by TEM, XPS, UV–vis, and XRD techniques. The PVP‐stabilized palladium(0) nanoclusters were active catalysts in Heck and Suzuki coupling reactions of arylbromides with styrene and phenylboronic acid affording stilbenes and biphenyls, respectively, in high yield. Recycling experiments showed that PVP‐stabilized palladium(0) nanoclusters could be used five times with essentially no loss in activity in the Heck and Suzuki coupling reactions.
