In this work, experimental and theoretical study on the molecular structure and the vibrational spectra of o-chlorotoluene (OCT), m-chlorotoluene (MCT) and p-chlorotoluene (PCT) are presented. The vibrational frequencies of these compounds were obtained theoretically by ab initio HF and DFT/B3LYP calculations employing the standard 6-311++G(d,p) basis set for optimized geometries and were compared with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) in the region of 400-4000 cm(-1) and with Raman spectra in the region of 100-4000 cm(-1). Complete vibrational assignment, analysis and correlation of the fundamental modes for these compounds have been carried out. The vibrational harmonic frequencies were scaled using scale factors, yielding a good agreement between the experimentally recorded and the theoretically calculated values.  相似文献

The molecular vibrations of xanthine were investigated in polycrystalline sample, at room temperature by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectroscopies. The spectra of the molecule have been recorded in the regions 4000-50 cm(-1) and 3500-100 cm(-1), respectively. Theoretical information on the optimized geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies, infrared and Raman intensities were obtained by means of ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) gradient calculations with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies which were determined experimentally from the spectral data are compared with those obtained theoretically from ab initio and DFT calculations. A close agreement was achieved between the observed and calculated frequencies by refinement of the scale factors. The infrared and Raman spectra were also predicted from the calculated intensities. Thermodynamic properties like entropy, heat capacity, zero point energy have been calculated for the molecule. Unambiguous vibrational assignment of all the fundamentals was made using the potential energy distribution (PED).  相似文献

The intramolecular hydrogen bond, molecular structure and vibrational frequencies of tetra-acetylethane have been investigated by means of high-level density functional theory (DFT) methods with most popular basis sets. Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform Raman spectra of this compound and its deuterated analogue were recorded in the regions 400-4000 cm(-1) and 40-4000 cm(-1), respectively. The calculated geometrical parameters of tetra-acetylethane were compared to the experimental results of this compound and its parent molecule (acetylacetone), obtained from X-ray diffraction. The O...O distance in tetra-acetylethane, about 2.424A, suggests that the hydrogen bond in this compound is stronger than acetylacetone. This conclusion is well supported by the NMR proton chemical shifts and O-H stretching mode at 2626 cm(-1). Furthermore, the calculated hydrogen bond energy in the title compound is 17.22 kcal/mol, which is greater than the acetylacetone value. On the other hand, the results of theoretical calculations show that the bulky substitution in alpha-position of acetylacetone results in an increase of the conjugation of pi electrons in the chelate ring. Finally, we applied the atoms in molecules (AIM) theory and natural bond orbital method (NBO) for detail analyzing the hydrogen bond in tetra-acetylethane and acetylacetone. These results are in agreement with the vibrational spectra interpretation and quantum chemical calculation results. Also, the conformations of methyl groups with respect to the plane of the molecule and with respect to each other were investigated.  相似文献

Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman (FT-Raman) spectra of 5-aminoindole has been recorded and analysed. The FT-IR spectrum of the compound was recorded in a BrukerIFS 66 V spectrometer in the range 4000-400 cm(-1) and the FT-Raman spectrum was also recorded in the same instrument in the region 3500-100 cm(-1). Observed frequencies for normal modes are compared with those calculated form normal co-ordinate analysis. The shift in the frequencies of the fundamental modes with the substituent amino group and the mixing of different normal modes are discussed with the help of potential energy distribution (PED) calculated through normal co-ordinate analysis.  相似文献

The solid phase FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of 4-butyl benzoic acid (4-BBA) have been recorded in the regions 400-4000 and 50-4000cm(-1), respectively. The spectra were interpreted in terms of fundamentals modes, combination and overtone bands. The structure of the molecule was optimized and the structural characteristics were determined by density functional theory (DFT) using B3LYP method with 6-311++G(d,p) as basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated for monomer and dimer by DFT method and were compared with the experimental frequencies, which yield good agreement between observed and calculated frequencies. The infrared and Raman spectra were also predicted from the calculated intensities. (13)C and (1)H NMR spectra were recorded and (13)C and (1)H nuclear magnetic resonance chemical shifts of the molecule were calculated using the gauge independent atomic orbital (GIAO) method. UV-visible spectrum of the compound was recorded in the region 200-400nm and the electronic properties HOMO and LUMO energies were measured by time-dependent TD-DFT approach. The geometric parameters, energies, harmonic vibrational frequencies, IR intensities, Raman intensities, chemical shifts and absorption wavelengths were compared with the available experimental data of the molecule.  相似文献

In the present work, we reported a combined experimental and theoretical study on molecular structure, vibrational spectra and NBO analysis of 4-chloro-7-nitrobenzofurazan (NBD-Chloride). The FT-IR (400-4000 cm(-1)) and FT-Raman spectra (50-4000 cm(-1)) of NBD-Chloride were recorded. The molecular geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies and bonding features of NBD-Chloride in the ground-state have been calculated by using the density functional B3LYP method with 6-311++G (d, p) as higher basis set. The energy and oscillator strength calculated by time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) result in DMSO and CDCl3 solvents complements with each other. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. Finally the calculation results were applied to simulate infrared and Raman spectra of the title compound which show good agreement with observed spectra.  相似文献

The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectra of 5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzamide (5CBA) and 5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoic acid (5C2HBA) have been recorded in the range 4000-400 and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The complete vibrational fundamental modes of the compounds were assigned and analysed using the observed FTIR and FT-Raman data. The vibrational frequencies determined experimentally were compared with the theoretical wavenumbers calculated from ab initio HF and DFT-B3LYP gradient methods employing 6-31G** and 6-311++G** basis sets. The effect of halogen, hydroxyl groups and hydrogen bonding on the characteristic frequencies of the -COOH and -CONH2 group frequencies have been investigated. In 5CBA and 5C2HBA intramolecular hydrogen bond between a hydroxyl group and CO group makes a six membered ring, which causes the O?H interaction onto the resonance of the benzene ring. Comparison of the positions of the ν(OH) bands shows the ν(OH) band of 5CBA is located at considerably higher frequency which confirms a weaker hydrogen bond than in 5C2HBA.  相似文献

The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectra of p-cyanobenzoic acid (CBA) have been recorded in the range 4000-400 and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The complete vibrational assignment and analysis of the fundamental modes of the compound were carried out using the observed FTIR and FT-Raman data. The vibrational frequencies determined experimentally were compared with theoretical wavenumbers obtained from ab initio HF and DFT-B3LYP gradient calculations employing 6-31G**, 6-311++G** and cc-pVTZ basis sets for the optimised geometry of the compound. The geometry and normal modes of vibration obtained from the HF and DFT methods are in good agreement with the experimental data. The normal coordinate analysis was also carried out with ab initio force fields utilising Wilson's FG matrix method. The interactions of cyano and carboxylic acid groups with the skeletal vibrational modes were investigated.  相似文献

The experimental and theoretical study on the structures and vibrations of 6-chloronicotinic acid (6-CNA, C(6)H(4)ClNO(2)) are presented. The Fourier transform infrared spectra (4,000-50 cm(-1)) and the Fourier transform Raman spectra (3,500-50 cm(-1)) of the title molecule in solid phase have been recorded, for the first time. The geometrical parameters and energies have been obtained for all four conformers from DFT (B3LYP) with different basis sets calculations. There are four conformers, C1, C2, C3, and C4 for this molecule. The computational results diagnose the most stable conformer of 6-CNA as the C1 form. The vibrations of the two stable and two unstable conformers of 6-CNA are researched with the aid of quantum chemical calculations. The molecular structure, vibrational frequencies, infrared intensities and Raman scattering activities and theoretical vibrational spectra were calculated a pair of molecules linked by the intermolecular OH...O hydrogen bond. The spectroscopic and theoretical results are compared to the corresponding properties for 6-CNA stable monomers and dimer of C1 conformer.  相似文献

The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 2,3-difluoro phenol (2,3-DFP) has been recorded in the region 4000-400 and 4000-100 cm(-1), respectively. The optimized geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of 2,3-DFP were obtained by the ab initio HF and density functional theory (DFT) levels of theory with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6-311+G(d,p) basis set. The harmonic vibrational frequencies were calculated and the scaled values have been compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and the calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The experimental spectra also coincide satisfactorily with those of theoretically constructed bar type spectrograms.  相似文献

In the present work, we reported a combined experimental and theoretical study on conformational stability, molecular structure and vibrational spectra of 2,4-di-tert-butylphenol (2,4-DTBP). The FT-IR (400-4000cm(-1)) and FT-Raman spectra (50-3500cm(-1)) of 2,4-DTBP were recorded. The molecular geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies and bonding features of 2,4-DTBP in the ground-state have been calculated by using the density functional BLYP/B3LYP methods. The energy calculated by time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) result complements with the experimental findings. The calculated highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energies show that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. Finally the calculation results were compared with measured infrared and Raman spectra of the title compound which showed good agreement with observed spectra.  相似文献

FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-nitrobenzaldehyde (HMN) and 2-methoxy-1-naphthaldehyde (MN) have been recorded in the regions 4000-400 cm(-1) and 3500-100 cm(-1), respectively. The molecular structure, conformational stability, geometry optimization, vibrational frequencies have been investigated. The total energy calculations of HMN and MN were tried for various possible conformers. The spectra were interpreted with the aid of normal coordinate analysis based on density functional theory (DFT) using B3LYP/6-31G* and B3LYP/6-311+G** level and basis set combinations and was scaled using various scale factors yielding good agreement between observed and calculated frequencies. The infrared and Raman spectra were also predicted from the calculated intensities. Comparison of the simulated spectra with the experimental spectra provides important information about the ability of the computational method to describe the vibrational modes.  相似文献

Infrared (4000-100 cm(-1)) and Raman (4000-10 cm(-1)) spectra of benzophenone, benzophenone-d10 and benzophenone-(18)O have been studied in the solid state and in solution and their fundamental frequencies have been assigned using isotopic frequency shifts and differential infrared linear dichroic spectra of oriented polycrystalline layers (4000-400 cm(-1)). Ab initio MO calculations have been carried out for the three benzophenone isotopomers at the HF/3-21G, 6-31G and 6-31G** levels and the computed vibrational frequencies have been compared with the experimental ones. Best agreement is achieved with the 6-31G data, the mean deviation being 25.4 cm(-1). The calculated isotopic frequency shifts induced by the (18)O and d10 labelling, are also in a good accordance with the measured ones. All geometry parameters calculated for the isolated molecule are in good agreement with the X-ray data for the benzophenone single crystal.  相似文献

FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of the title compounds in the solid phase are recorded in the region 4000-400 cm(-1) and 4000-50 cm(-1), respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecules in the ground state are calculated using density functional methods (B3LYP) with 6-311+G** basis set. The vibrational frequencies are calculated and scaled values are compared with experimental FTIR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The complete vibrational assignments are performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanical (SM) method. 13C and 1H NMR chemical shifts results are compared with the experimental values.  相似文献

The Fourier Transform Infrared spectrum of (S)-4 ethyl-4-hydroxy-1H-pyrano [3',4':6,7]-indolizino-[1,2-b-quinoline-3,14-(4H,12H)-dione] [camptothecin] was recorded in the region 4000-400 cm(-1). The Fourier Transform Raman spectrum of camptothecin (CPT) was also recorded in the region 3500-50 cm(-1). Quantum chemical calculations of geometrical structural parameters and vibrational frequencies of CPT were carried out by MP2/6-31G(d,p) and density functional theory DFT/B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) methods. The assignment of each normal mode has been made using the observed and calculated frequencies, their IR and Raman intensities. The harmonic vibrational frequencies were calculated and the scaled values have been compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. Most of the computed frequencies were found to be in good agreement with the experimental observations. The isotropic chemical shifts computed by (13)C and (1)H NMR analysis also show good agreement with experimental observations. Comparison of calculated spectra with the experimental spectra provides important information about the ability of computational method to describe the vibrational modes of large sized organic molecule.  相似文献

The present work contributes to a combined theoretical and experimental investigation on oxyclozanide. The experimental vibrational spectra were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (4000-400 cm?1), Fourier transform Raman (4000-400 cm?1), 1H and 13C NMR were recorded in Deuterated methanol, UV–Vis (200–400 nm) techniques and theoretical optimized molecular geometry, harmonic vibrational spectra, magnetic spectra, and electronic spectra was calculated by Density Functional Theory (DFT) employed with B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) basis set and compared with experimental data. The highest occupied molecular orbital - lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO-LUMO) energy was also calculated for the titled compound. The intermolecular interactions have been addressed through Hirshfeld surface analysis. In addition, Natural bond orbital (NBO) analyses of the title compound were performed to evaluate the suitable reactivity site and chemical stabilization behavior, Mulliken atomic charge distribution, and molecular electrostatic potential energy surfaces, were calculated to get a better insight into the structure of oxyclozanide. The experimental and theoretical findings suggest an excellent correlation to confirm the structure of oxyclozanide.  相似文献
