PurposeTo quantify the differential plasma flow- (Fp-) and permeability surface area product per unit mass of tissue- (PS-) weighting in forward volumetric transfer constant (Ktrans) estimates by using a low molecular (Gd-DTPA) versus high molecular (Gadomer) weight contrast agent in dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) MRI.Materials and methodsDCE MRI was performed using a 7T animal scanner in 14 C57BL/6J mice syngeneic for TRAMP tumors, by administering Gd-DTPA (0.9 kD) in eight mice and Gadomer (35 kD) in the remainder. The acquisition time was 10 min with a sampling rate of one image every 2 s. Pharmacokinetic modeling was performed to obtain Ktrans by using Extended Tofts model (ETM). In addition, the adiabatic approximation to the tissue homogeneity (AATH) model was employed to obtain the relative contributions of Fp and PS.ResultsThe Ktrans values derived from DCE-MRI with Gd-DTPA showed significant correlations with both PS (r2 = 0.64, p = 0.009) and Fp (r2 = 0.57, p = 0.016), whereas those with Gadomer were found only significantly correlated with PS (r2 = 0.96, p = 0.0003) but not with Fp (r2 = 0.34, p = 0.111). A voxel-based analysis showed that Ktrans approximated PS (< 30% difference) in 78.3% of perfused tumor volume for Gadomer, but only 37.3% for Gd-DTPA.ConclusionsThe differential contributions of Fp and PS in estimating Ktrans values vary with the molecular weight of the contrast agent used. The macromolecular contrast agent resulted in Ktrans values that were much less dependent on flow. These findings support the use of macromolecular contrast agents for estimating tumor vessel permeability with DCE-MRI.  相似文献

ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to correlate brain metabolism assessed shortly after therapeutic hyperthermia by 1H magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), with neurodevelopmental outcome.MethodsAt the age of 6.0 ± 1.8 days, brain metabolites of 35 term asphyxiated newborns, treated with therapeutic hypothermia, were quantified by multivoxel proton MRS of a volume cranial to the corpus callosum, containing both gray and white matter. At the age of 30 months the Bayley Scale of Infant Development-III was performed.ResultsInfants that died had lower gray matter NAA levels than infants that survived (P = 0.005). In surviving infants (28 of 35) there was a trend of negative correlation between gray matter choline levels and gross motor outcome (r =  0.45). In the white matter, choline correlated negatively with fine motor skills (r =  0.40), and creatine positively with gross motor skills (r = 0.58, P = 0.02). There was no relationship between lactate levels and outcome.ConclusionMRS of asphyxiated neonates treated by therapeutic hypothermia can serve as predictor of outcome. Unlike previously reported associations in untreated asphyxiates, lactate levels had no relationship with outcome, which indicates that one of the working mechanisms of therapeutic hypothermia is reduction of the metabolic rate.  相似文献

Stoichiometric Ni-bearing ferrite was formed by air oxidation of an iron(II) hydroxide suspension at an initial Ni : Fetot mol ratio (rNi) of 0.20 : 2.80 at pH 10.0 and 65°C. Most of products formed at rNi=0.40 : 2.60 and 0.60 : 2.40 were Ni-bearing ferrites, of which vacancies of Fe3+ ion on the lattice points may be considered. Only Ni, Zn-bearing ferrites were formed in the suspensions at initial (Ni + Zn)  : Fetot mol ratios (rNi + Zn) of 0.20 : 2.80–0.60 : 2.40 at pH 10.0 and 65°C. At higher rNi or rNi + Zn by-products containing Ni, Fe and O42− were formed. The formation of the by-products was depressed in the suspensions containing chloride ions in the place of sulfate ions.  相似文献

New lead-free ceramics (Bi0.92Na0.92−xLix)0.5Ba0.06Sr0.02TiO3 have been fabricated by a conventional ceramic technique and their electrical properties have been studied. X-ray diffraction studies reveal that Li+, Ba2+ and Sr2+ diffuse into the Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 lattices to form a new solid solution with a pure perovskite structure. The partial substitution of Li+ for Na+ increases the remanent polarization Pr of the ceramics. Because of the large Pr and low coercive field Ec, the ceramics with x = 0.075–0.125 exhibit excellent piezoelectric properties: d33 = 189–235 pC/N, kp = 33.6–36.3% and kt = 51.6–54.3%. The ceramics exhibit relaxor behaviors after the substitution of Li+ for Na+. Our results also suggest that polar and non-polar phases may coexist in the ceramics at temperatures above the depolarization temperature Td.  相似文献

PurposeBiochemical imaging of glycosaminoglycan chemical exchange saturation transfer (gagCEST) could predict the depletion of glycosaminoglycans (GAG) in early osteoarthritis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry (MTRasym) of gagCEST images and visual analog scale (VAS) pain scores in the knee joint.Materials and methodsThis retrospective study was approved by the institutional review board. A phantom study was performed using hyaluronic acid to validate the MTRasym values of gagCEST images. Knee magnetic resonance (MR) images of 22 patients (male, 9; female, 13; mean age, 50.3 years; age range; 25–79 years) with knee pain were included in this study. The MR imaging (MRI) protocol involved standard knee MRI as well as gagCEST imaging, which allowed region-of-interest analyses of the patellar facet and femoral trochlea. The MTRasym at 1.0 ppm was calculated at each region. The cartilages of the patellar facets and femoral trochlea were graded according to the Outerbridge classification system. Data regarding the VAS scores of knee pain were collected from the electronic medical records of the patients. Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman's correlation.ResultsThe results of the phantom study revealed excellent correlation between the MTRasym values and the concentration of GAGs (r = 0.961; p = 0.003). The cartilage grades on the MR images showed significant negative correlation with the MTRasym values in the patellar facet and femoral trochlea (r = −0.460; p = 0.031 and r = −0.543; p = 0.009, respectively). The VAS pain scores showed significant negative correlation with the MTRasym values in the patellar facet and femoral trochlea (r = −0.435; p = 0.043 and r = −0.671; p = 0.001, respectively).ConclusionThe pain scores were associated with the morphological and biochemical changes in articular cartilages visualized on knee MR images. The biochemical changes, visualized in terms of the MTRasym values of the gagCEST images, exhibited greater correlation with the pain scores than the morphological changes visualized on conventional MR images; these results provide evidence supporting the theory regarding the association of patellofemoral osteoarthritis with knee pain scores.  相似文献

Emission spectra of SrH and SrD have been studied at high resolution using a Fourier transform spectrometer. The molecules have been produced in a high temperature furnace from the reaction of strontium metal vapor with H2/D2 in the presence of a slow flow of Ar gas. The spectra observed in the 18 000–19 500 cm?1 region consist of the 0–0 and 1–1 bands of the E2Π–X2Σ+ transition of the two isotopologues. A rotational analysis of these bands has been obtained by combining the present measurements with previously available pure rotation and vibration–rotation measurements for the ground state, and improved spectroscopic constants have been obtained for the E2Π state. The present analysis provides spectroscopic constants for the E2Π state as ΔG(½) = 1166.1011(15) cm?1, Be = 3.805503(32) cm?1, αe = 0.098880(47) cm?1, re = 2.1083727(89) Å for SrH, and ΔG(½) = 839.1283(23) cm?1, Be = 1.918564(15) cm?1, αe = 0.034719(23) cm?1, re = 2.1121943(83) Å for SrD.  相似文献

Auger-Electron-Spectroscopy (AES) and Direct-Recoils-Spectrometry (DRS) were applied to study the interaction of O2 with a polycrystalline gadolinium surface, in the temperature range 300–670 K and oxygen pressure up to 2 × 10? 6 Torr. It has been found that initial uptake of oxygen, at coverage measurable by the techniques used here, results in rapid oxide island formation. The subsurface is believed to be a mixture of oxide particles and oxygen dissolved in the Gd metal, the latter being the mobile species, even at relatively low temperatures.Enhanced inward diffusion of oxygen starts as early as 420 K and dictates the surface oxygen concentration and effective thickness of the forming oxide. The oxygen accumulation rate at the near-surface region, as measured by the O(KLL) AES signal intensity, goes through a maximum as a function of temperature at 420 K. This is a result of the combination of still efficient oxygen chemisorption that increases surface occupation and slow inward diffusion. The thickest oxide, ~ 1.7 nm, is formed at 300 K and its effective thickness was found to decrease with increasing temperature (due to oxygen dissolution into the metal bulk).Diffusion coefficients of the oxygen dissolution into the bulk were evaluated for various temperatures utilizing models for infinitely thin oxide layer and thick oxide layer, respectively. The best fit under our experimental procedure was obtained by the thick layer model, and the coefficients that were calculated are D0 = 2.2 × 10? 16m2s? 1 and Ea = 46kJ/mol.  相似文献

Photodiodes of InSb were fabricated on an epitaxial layer grown using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). Thermal cleaning of the InSb (0 0 1) substrate surface, 2° towards the (1 1 1) B plane, was performed to remove the oxide. Photodiode properties of МВЕ-formed epitaxial InSb were demonstrated. Zero-bias resistance area product (R0A) measurements were taken at 80 K under room temperature background for a pixel size of 100 μm × 100 μm. Values were as high as 4.36 × 104 Ω/cm2, and the average value of R0A was 1.66 × 104 Ω/cm2. The peak response was 2.44 (A/W). The epitaxial InSb photodiodes were fabricated using the same process as bulk crystal InSb diodes with the exception of the junction formation method. These values are comparable to the properties of bulk crystal InSb photodiodes.  相似文献

PurposeTo compare enhanced Laws textures derived from parametric proton density (PD) maps to other MRI surrogate markers (T2, PD, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC)) in assessing degrees of liver fibrosis in an ex vivo murine model of hepatic fibrosis imaged using 11.7T MRI.MethodsThis animal study was IACUC approved. Fourteen male, C57BL/6 mice were divided into control and experimental groups. The latter were fed a 3,5-dicarbethoxy-1,4-dihydrocollidine (DDC) supplemented diet to induce hepatic fibrosis. Ex vivo liver specimens were imaged using an 11.7T scanner, from which the parametric PD, T2, and ADC maps were generated from spin-echo pulsed field gradient and multi-echo spin-echo acquisitions. A sequential enhanced Laws texture analysis was applied to the PD maps: automated dual-clustering algorithm, optimal thresholding algorithm, global grayscale correction, and Laws texture features extraction. Degrees of fibrosis were independently assessed by digital image analysis (a.k.a. %Area Fibrosis). Scatterplot graphs comparing enhanced Laws texture features, T2, PD, and ADC values to degrees of fibrosis were generated and correlation coefficients were calculated.ResultsHepatic fibrosis and the enhanced Laws texture features were strongly correlated with higher %Area Fibrosis associated with higher Laws textures (r = 0.89). Without the proposed enhancements, only a moderate correlation was detected between %Area Fibrosis and unenhanced Laws texture features (r = 0.70). Correlation also existed between %Area Fibrosis and ADC (r = 0.86), PD (r = 0.65), and T2 (r = 0.66).ConclusionsHigher degrees of hepatic fibrosis are associated with increased Laws textures. The proposed enhancements could improve the accuracy of Laws texture features significantly.  相似文献

Multi-metallic Prussian blue compound Ni1.125Co0.375[Fe(CN)6] · 6.8H2O has been synthesized. The Mössbauer spectroscopy at room temperature and IR spectra study revealed that the metal ions are bonded through cyanide ligand and the presence of low spin FeIII(S = 1/2) and high spin FeIII(S = 5/2) ions, as showed in these structure: FeIII(S = 1/2)-CN-(CoII/NiII)(96%) and FeIII(S = 5/2)-NC-(CoII/NiII) (4%). The Curie constant of C = 3.00 cm3 K mol−1 and Weiss paramagnetic Curie temperature of θ = 16.43 K were observed in fitting according to Curie–Weiss law. These results indicate that there existed a ferromagnetic exchange interaction in the complexes. The observed value of coercive field (Hc) and remanent magnetization (Mr) at 4 K for the compound are 497 Oe and 1.03 . The presence of spin-glass behaviours in the compound is ascribed mainly to domain mobility or domain growth under different cooling conditions.  相似文献

Phosphorus surface segregation was measured by Auger Electron Spectroscopy on a 17-4 PH martensitic stainless steel at 450, 550 and 600 °C. Surface segregation was shown to be much faster than expected which was attributed to a high contribution of phosphorus diffusion along the former austenitic grain boundaries. A model of surface segregation was developed following the Darken–du Plessis approach and taking account of both bulk and grain boundary solute diffusion. The phosphorus grain boundary diffusion coefficient in 17-4 PH was estimated: DGB< = 6.2 104 exp(? 157 kJ mol? 1/RT)cm2 s? 1. It is found to be more than three orders of magnitude higher in 17-4 PH steel than in α-iron.  相似文献

It is shown that the conductivities of LiBF4, LiPF6, LiN(SO2CF3)2 (LiTFSI), NaPF6, KPF are abnormally high in two diamine solvents: ethylenediamine (EDA) and 1,3-diaminopropane (1,3 DAP). This is particularly evident for KPF6, κMAX(EDA) = 35 mS cm 1 and κMAX(1,3 DAP) = 17.4 mS cm 1. Compared to three other organic solvents having the same viscosity, η  1.6 cP, but higher relative permittivity, NMF ε = 186.9, NMP ε = 32, γ-Bu ε = 39.1, the maxima of conductibility of EDA and 1,2 DAP, which have a low relative permittivity, ε  13–11, are largely superior or equal to those of NMF, NMP, γ-Bu. For KPF6, κMAX(NMF) = 15.4mS cm 1, κMAX(NMP) = 7.8 mS cm 1 and κMAX(γ-BL) = 10.8 mS cm 1. We assume that this is due to a non-Stokesian conductivity mechanism.  相似文献

Nano or micro-scale rod shaped objects suspended in a liquid flowing on a flat solid surface might be aligned or orientated by the nature of the liquid, type of flow and planar channel geometry containing the flow. Orientation might enhance or inhibit certain chemical reactions between the objects, the underlying surface, other chemicals or with the walls of the vessels holding the flowing suspension. The probability density function describing the orientations of the objects satisfies a Fokker–Planck equation whose solution is obtained with Langevin simulation for different surface flow parameters. The methods developed in the present work enable us to evaluate the orientation probability density function for a range of the Peclet number α covering several orders of magnitude, 10? 4  α  108. The experimental detection of orientation control is obtained optically from the measurement of dichroism and birefringence of the suspension. In order to examine the possibility of applying the HDDR process to segregated master ingots, Nd–Fe–B system HDDR powders were made from ingots with different levels of homogeneity, and their structures and magnetic properties were evaluated in detail. HDDR powders made from segregated as-cast ingots displayed anisotropy and large coercivity. They had a nearly homogeneous Nd2Fe14B phase, although some large areas with α-Fe and Nd-rich regions of 30 μm in size were present after the HD process. With increasing in the homogeneity level of the master ingots, the anisotropy of HDDR-processed powders decreased and their coercivity increased. In addition, an intermediate Ar treatment was applied between the HD and DR processes to improve the magnetic properties. As a result, the effect of the IA treatment was clearly confirmed, and good magnetic properties of Br=1.23 T, HcJ=848 kA/m and (BH)max=238 kJ/m3 were obtained.  相似文献

The formation of complex species of dioxouranium(VI) ion with EDTA was studied in the pH range of 1–3.5 and at 25 °C using a combination of potentiometric and spectrophotometric techniques. Results showed evidence for formation of the following species: [UO2H4EDTA]2+, [UO2H3EDTA]+, and [UO2H2EDTA]. Investigations were performed in sodium perchlorate as background electrolyte at 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 1.0 mol dm? 3. The parameters based on the formation constants were calculated, and the dependences of protonation and the stability constants on ionic strength are described. The dependence on ionic strength of the formation constants was analyzed using the specific ion interaction theory (SIT) model. The stability constant values at infinite dilution, obtained using SIT model, are log β°141 = 6.77, log β°131 = 5.99 and log β°121 = 9.29, where indexes for the overall stability constant, βpqr, refer to the equilibrium pUO22+ + qH+ + rL4? ? MpHqLr(2p + q ? 4r). The aim of the present study was to compare infrared thermography and thermal contact sensors for measuring skin temperature during cycling in a moderate environment. Fourteen cyclists performed a 45-min cycling test at 50% of peak power output. Skin temperatures were simultaneously recorded by infrared thermography and thermal contact sensors before and immediately after cycling activity as well as after 10 min cooling-down, representing different skin wetness and blood perfusion states. Additionally, surface temperature during well controlled dry and wet heat exchange (avoiding thermoregulatory responses) using a hot plate system was assessed by infrared thermography and thermal contact sensors. In human trials, the inter-method correlation coefficient was high when measured before cycling (r = 0.92) whereas it was reduced immediately after the cycling (r = 0.82) and after the cooling-down phase (r = 0.59). Immediately after cycling, infrared thermography provided lower temperature values than thermal contact sensors whereas it presented higher temperatures after the cooling-down phase. Comparable results as in human trials were observed for hot plate tests in dry and wet states. Results support the application of infrared thermography for measuring skin temperature in exercise scenarios where perspiration does not form a water film.  相似文献

The atomic structure of the 3C-SiC(001)-3 × 2 reconstructed surface was analyzed precisely by high-resolution medium energy ion scattering (MEIS). The present MEIS analysis unambiguously shows that the (3 × 2) surface consists of Si adatoms (1/3 ML, 1 ML = 1.05 × 1015 atoms/cm2) on top and underlying Si adlayer (2/3 ML) on the bulk truncated Si plane. As the result, the most probable structure is focused on the Two Adlayer Asymmetric Dimer Model predicted by ab initio calculations and the modified versions with alternating long and short dimers in the 2nd adlayer proposed by photoelectron diffraction (PED) and by grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXRD) analyses. Observed MEIS spectra are well reproduced by the structure relatively close to that determined by PED rather than GIXRD. Interestingly, the first principle calculations using VASP (Vienna ab initio simulation package) prefer symmetric dimers in the second Si adlayer and non-relaxed interplanar distance between the top Si and 2nd C plane of the bulk-truncated surface, which are, however, unable to reproduce the observed MEIS spectra. The distorted 2nd adlayer (asymmetric dimers) may correlate with the compressed interplanar distance between the underlying Si and C planes.  相似文献

The adsorption of CO on α-Al2O3(0001) was studied using the DFT-GGA computational method and on α-Al2O3 powder experimentally by Infra red spectroscopy. The core and valence level regions of α-Al2O3(0001) single crystal surface were also studied experimentally. Ar ions sputtering of the surface results in a slight but reproducible decrease in the XPS O2p lines in the valence band regions due to preferential removal of surface (and near surface) O atoms. Core level XPS O1s and Al2p further confirmed oxygen depletion with an associated surface stoichiometry close to Al2O2.9. The adsorption energy of CO was computed and found equal to 0.52 eV for θ = 0.25, it decreased to 0.42 eV at θ = 1. The IR frequency of νCO was also computed and in all cases it was blue shifted with respect to gas phase CO. The shift, Δν, decreased with increasing coverage where it was found equal to 56 cm? 1 for θ = 0.25 and decreased to 30 cm? 1 for θ = 1. Structural analyses indicated that the change in the adsorption energy and the associated frequency shift is due to surface relaxation upon adsorption. Experimentally the adsorption of CO gave rise to one main IR peak at 2154 cm? 1 at 0.3 Torr and above. Two far smaller peaks are also seen at lower pressures of 0.03–0.2 Torr at 2189 and 2178 cm? 1. The isosteric heat of adsorption was computed for the IR band at 2154 cm? 1 and was found equal to 0.2 eV which did not change with coverage in the investigated range up to θ = 0.6.  相似文献

A layered spiral microstructured optical fiber (LS-MOF) is presented, which offers the possibility of a good control of both the dispersion and the nonlinear properties. The proposed design is analyzed using a finite element method considering silica and air as the materials. Zero dispersion, low confinement loss, and a record value of γ = 70.0 W?1/km for the LS-MOF nonlinear parameter are simultaneously obtained at 1.55 μm, whereas a higher value γ = 169.4 W?1/km can be achieved at 1.06 μm. Our results demonstrate the great potential of the LS-MOF for several nonlinear applications, namely for an efficient generation of the supercontinuum.  相似文献

(p, ρ, T) and (ps, ρs, Ts) properties, and apparent molar volumes Vϕ of LiI (aq) at T = 298.15 to 398.15 K, at pressures up to p = 60 MPa were reported, and apparent molar volumes at infinite dilution Vϕ0 have been evaluated. An empirical correlation for density of lithium iodide (aq) with pressure, temperature and molality was derived. The experiments were carried out at molalities m = 0.11053, 0.32532, 0.70013, 1.40459, 2.95059, and 4.88147 mol kg 1 of lithium iodide.  相似文献
