In this study, the antioxidant activity of aqueous and ethanol extracts of four plants from the genus Cassia were evaluated by various antioxidant assays, including ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), DPPH free radical scavenging, metal chelating activity, phosphomolybdenum reducing power, hydrogen peroxide radical scavenging, hydroxyl radical scavenging, deoxyribose degradation and β-carotene bleaching assay. The various antioxidant activities were compared to standard antioxidant such as ascorbic acid. All the extracts showed antioxidant activity in the tested methods. Among the four species, Cassia auriculata has been found to possess highest activity in most of the tested models. In addition to the antioxidant activity, the total phenolics and flavonoids were measured in the extracts. The ethanolic extract exhibited highest phenolics and flavonoid contents and had also shown potent antioxidant activity in comparison to the aqueous extracts. The possible antioxidant mechanism of the ethanol extract can be due to its hydrogen or electron donating and direct free radical scavenging properties. Hence, the ethanol extract represents a source of potential antioxidants that could be used in pharmaceutical industries.  相似文献

Plant extracts are one of the best possible sources of bioactive molecules, and are being used globally as an antioxidants and natural antimicrobial compounds. In current study, Schefflera vinosa leaves extract was prepared through Soxhlet extraction procedure using methanol and chloroform as solvents. The extract was investigated for total antioxidant, phenolic and flavonoid contents, free radical scavenging and antimicrobial activities. The free radical scavenging activities were evaluated through 2,2- diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2′-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzotiazolin-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) and Ferric-reducing/ antioxidant power (FRAP) assay. The antimicrobial activity of extract was determined through poisoned food method. The methanolic extract has exhibited high antioxidant, phenolic, and flavonoid activities compared to chloroform extract. Similarly, free radical scavenging activities (ABTS, DPPH and FRAP) were higher in methanolic extract. Further, Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) used to determine the functional group and Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC–MS) to elucidate volatile composition of the crude extract. Different functional group like N-H, O-H, C-O, C-N, C-H, C=O, C≡C and C-O-H presence indicate the existence of many metabolites in the extracts. GC–MS study identified 61 compounds and subsequently, these molecules were screened virtually using DockThor. Furthermore, antimicrobial study was confirmed against rice pathogens like Magnaporthe oryzae (M. oryzae) and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo). Molecular docking study further suggested that phytomolecules (3-Isopropoxy-1,1,1,7,7,7-hexamethyl-3,5,5-tris (trimethylsiloxy) tetrasiloxane, and 2-Methoxy-5-methylthiophene) targets Histone Deacetylase (HDAC) of M. oryzae and Peptide Deformylase (PDF) of Xoo, which could inhibit their growth. Hence, this study indicated that Schefflera vinosa extracts could be an important ingredient as an antioxidant as well as antimicrobial agent against rice pathogens.  相似文献

In an aim to prove the efficiency of polyphenols of Rosa canina fruits in promoting human health. A methanolic extract of R. canina fruits was prepared by successive maceration with solvents of increasing polarity. The polyphenol composition was analyzed by HPLC–DAD–ESI–MS. The biological activity of this extract on SH-SY5Y cells and HepG2 cells was then studied. The antioxidant activity was tested by various in vitro tests such as DPPH-radical-scavenging activity, FRAP assay, hydroxyl radical scavenging assay and total antioxidant capacity. The subacute toxicity of R. canina was tested on female rats by repeated intraperitoneal administration of various doses. The phenolic profiles showed 25 antioxidants distributed into three classes of phenolic compounds: glycosylated and agglomerated flavonoids/isoflavonoids, tannins and phenanthrenes. Qualitative phytochemical analyses showed that this extract lacks alkaloids. The methanolic extract of R. canina fruits has a total antioxidant capacity of 82.69 ± 1.18 μg EAA/mg of methanol extract and the IC50 of the methods used is in the following increasing order: FRAP assay (61.88 μg/ml), then hydroxyl radical scavenging assay (67.45 μg/ml) and then DPPH radical-scavenging activity (129.81 μg/ml). The extract of R. canina did not cause any phenotypic signs of toxicity or mortality during and after treatment. The LD50 was >5,000 mg/kg, hence, R. canina was considered nontoxic. An in vivo study proved the protective effect of R. canina against cardiac and hepato-renal toxicities. These results drew the importance of a healthy diet, where diets rich in R. canina fruits can be used as a rich natural source of antioxidants and anticarcinogenic phenolic compounds.  相似文献

Bioassay-guided separation of young leaves extracts of Syzygium antisepticum (Blume) Merr. & L.M. Perry led to the isolation of four triterpenoids (betulinic acid, ursolic acid, jacoumaric acid, corosolic acid) and one sterol glucoside (daucosterol) from the ethyl acetate extract, and three polyphenols (gallic acid, myricitrin, and quercitrin) from the methanol (MeOH) extract. The MeOH extract of S. antisepticum and some isolated compounds, ursolic acid and gallic acid potentially exhibited acetylcholinesterase activity evaluated by Ellman’s method. The MeOH extract and its isolated compounds, gallic acid, myricitrin, and quercitrin, also strongly elicited DPPH radical scavenging activity. In HEK-293 cells, the MeOH extract possessed cellular antioxidant effects by attenuating hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-induced ROS production and increasing catalase, glutathione peroxidase-1 (GPx-1), and glutathione reductase (GRe). Furthermore, myricitrin and quercitrin also suppressed ROS production induced by H2O2 and induced GPx-1 and catalase production in HEK-293 cells. These results indicated that the young leaves of S. antisepticum are the potential sources of antioxidant and anticholinesterase agents. Consequently, S. antisepticum leaves are one of indigenous vegetables which advantage to promote the health and prevent diseases related to oxidative stress.  相似文献

Excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) can oxidatively damage DNA to cause severe biological consequences. In the study, a natural flavonoid, myricitrin (myricetin‐3‐O‐α‐L‐rhamnopyranoside), was found to have a protective effect against hydroxyl‐induced DNA damage (IC50 159.86 ± 54.24 μg/mL). To investigate the mechanism, it was determined by various antioxidant assays. The results revealed that myricitrin could effectively scavenge ·OH, ·O2?, DPPH· (1,1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl radical), and ABTS+· (2,2′‐Azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid) radicals (IC50 values were respectively 69.71 ± 5.93, 69.71 ± 5.93, 25.34 ± 2.14, and 1.71 ± 0.09 μg/mL), and bind Cu2+ (IC50 27.33 ± 2.36 μg/mL). Based on the mechanistic analysis, it can be concluded that: (i) myricitrin can effectively protect against hydroxyl‐induced DNA oxidative damage via ROS scavenging and deoxynucleotide radicals repairing approaches. Both approaches can be attributed to its antioxidant. From a structure‐activity relationship viewpoint, its antioxidant ability can be attributed to the ortho‐dihydroxyl moiety, and ultimately to the stability of its oxidized form ortho‐benzoquinone; (ii) its ROS scavenging is mediated via metal‐chelating, and direct radical‐scavenging which is through donating hydrogen (H·) and electron (e); and (iii) its protective effect against DNA oxidative damage may be primarily responsible for the pharmacological effects, and offers promise as a new therapeutic reagent for diseases from DNA oxidative damage.  相似文献

Oxidative stress has been known as a key factor of many disorders affecting human beings. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) attack vital biomolecules, weakening their functioning, thus exacerbating diseases. To attenuate oxidative stress-associated diseases a novel approaches of antioxidant therapies have been anticipated. Antioxidants have the potential to inhibit the propagation and formation of ROS. Dillenia suffruticosa is a medicinal plant, used by the local people for the treatment of various ailments. The study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical screening, antioxidative activity, total phenolic and flavonoid contents of methanol extract, fractions and essential oil of D. suffruticosa. Furthermore, the analysis of phytochemicals was done using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GCMS). The result showed the existence of alkaloids, anthraquinones, flavonoids, phytosterol, saponins, tannins, triterpenoids and steroids in the methanol extract and fractions of D. suffruticosa. The butanol fraction and methanol extract showed high phenolic (379.00 ± 9.25 and 277.00 ± 3.50 mg/g) and flavonoid values (74.44 ± 2.18 and 34.83 ± 0.71 mg/g) as compared to ethyl acetate, n-hexane and chloroform fractions. The scavenging capacity of butanol fraction and methanol extract was also higher than other fractions. GCMS analysis indicated the presences of various compounds in methanol extract, fractions and essential oil including methyl glycolate, lauryl acetate, phenol, 2,4-bis (1,1-dimethylethyl), 9,12-octadecadienoic acid, hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester, methyl stearate, phenol, benzyl alcohol, 3-hexen-1-ol, acetate and phytol. Thus, methanol extract, fractions and essential oil of D. suffruticosa leaves mainly contain vital phytochemical and shows good antioxidant activity.  相似文献

Tripleurospermum limosum (TL) has been used in folk medicine to treat gastritis. Toward the further development and use of TL, we report the phytochemical profiling, determination of active components, and antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory activities of TL. Nineteen compounds were identified by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-orbitrap-mass spectrometry for the first time in this plant. Phytochemical studies indicated that TL contained 11 types of phytochemicals. The active components [total carbohydrate content (TCC), total protein content (TProC), total triterpenoid content (TTC), total phenolic content (TPheC), total flavonoid content (TFC), total phenolic acid content (TPAC), condensed tannin content (CTC), and gallotannin content (GC)] of eight different solvent extracts were determined by ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry. Aqueous extract had highest TProC, TPheC, and GC values. Methanol extract exhibited highest TCC and TFC values. Ethanol extract showed highest TPAC and CTC values and dichloromethane extract exhibited highest TTC value. Methanol extract showed strongest ability to scavenge 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radicals, 2,2′-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) diammonium salt cation radicals, and hydroxyl radicals, and also exhibited highest antioxidant activity in ferric-reducing antioxidant power and cupric ion-reducing antioxidant capacity assays. Best iron and copper chelating activity and H2O2 scavenging ability were shown by aqueous extract. Ethanol extract showed strongest ability to scavenge superoxide radicals and effectively prevent β-carotene bleaching. Acetone extract had highest inhibitory activity toward α-glucosidase, α-amylase, and xanthine oxidase. Ethyl ether extract had highest inhibitory activity towards urease and angiotensin converting enzyme. Aqueous and ethanol extracts had strongest inhibitory activity toward acetylcholinesterase. Methanol extract showed highest inhibitory activity toward tyrosinase. Methanol extract showed good stability and antioxidant capacity during heating, at different pH values, and after in vitro digestion and had low toxicity. The efficacy of methanol extract in stabilizing olive and sunflower oils was studied, the results suggested that methanol extract had a protective effect on the primary oxidation of the two oils. TL may be useful as a source of active components for application in human nutrition and/or phytomedicine and methanol extract of TL could be used as a natural oil stabiliser.  相似文献

Abstract

In this study, phytochemical composition, antioxidant, enzyme inhibition and cytotoxic activities of methanol and dichloromethane (DCM) extracts of Bougainvillea glabra (B. glabra) flowers were investigated. Methanol extract was found to have higher total bioactive contents and UHPLC-MS analysis of methanol extract revealed the presence of well-known phenolic and flavonoid compounds. Antioxidant activities were performed by radical scavenging (DPPH and ABTS), reducing power (FRAP and CUPRAC), phosphomolybdenum (TAC) and metal chelating assays. From our result, we observed that methanol extract had many antioxidant compounds. The DCM extract exhibited higher cholinesterases and α-glucosidase enzyme inhibition, while methanol extract showed significant urease inhibition. Both extracts exhibited strong to moderate cytotoxicity against MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, CaSki, DU-145 and SW-480 cancer cells with IC50 values ranging from 88.49 to 304.7 µg/mL. The findings showed the B. glabra to possess considerable antioxidant, enzyme inhibition and cytotoxic potentials and therefore has potential to discover novel bioactive molecules.  相似文献

This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant activity and total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) of crude extracts obtained from three Asclepiadaceae species, namely, Calotropis procera L., Peruglaria tomentosa L., and Pentatropis spiralis (Forsk.) Decne. Both butanol and aq. methanol extracts of the three species showed the highest amount of phenol and flavonoid contents, which exhibited the greatest antioxidant activity in the scavenging of 2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl free radical (DPPH), 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt radical cation (ABTS), ferrous chelating effect (FIC), and hydroxyl radical (HDR) assays. Phytochemical screening of the extracts revealed the presence of alkaloids, tannins, sponins, flavonoids, terpenoids, and glycosides. LC-MS analysis was carried out to identify the major compounds from each crude extract. A total of 12 phenolic compounds in the extracts of the 3 species were identified and quantified, including 9 flavonoids, 2 hydroxybenzoic acids, and 3 hydroxycinnamic acids. The current study also revealed a good correlation between total phenolic contents and the observed antioxidant activity of the crude extracts.  相似文献

Pleurotus geesteranus is a promising source of bioactive compounds. However, knowledge of the antioxidant behaviors of P. geesteranus protein hydrolysates (PGPHs) is limited. In this study, PGPHs were prepared with papain, alcalase, flavourzyme, pepsin, and pancreatin, respectively. The antioxidant properties and cytoprotective effects against oxidative stress of PGPHs were investigated using different chemical assays and H2O2 damaged PC12 cells, respectively. The results showed that PGPHs exhibited superior antioxidant activity. Especially, hydrolysate generated by alcalase displayed the strongest 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity (91.62%), 2,2-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothia zoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging activity (90.53%), ferric reducing antioxidant power, and metal ion-chelating activity (82.16%). Analysis of amino acid composition revealed that this hydrolysate was rich in hydrophobic, negatively charged, and aromatic amino acids, contributing to its superior antioxidant properties. Additionally, alcalase hydrolysate showed cytoprotective effects on H2O2-induced oxidative stress in PC12 cells via diminishing intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation by stimulating antioxidant enzyme activities. Taken together, alcalase hydrolysate of P. geesteranus protein can be used as beneficial ingredients with antioxidant properties and protective effects against ROS-mediated oxidative stress.  相似文献

Antioxidants are currently utilized to prevent the occurrence of liver cancer in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) patients. Clinacanthus nutans possesses anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory properties that could be an ideal therapy for liver problems. The objective of this study is to determine the potential antioxidative compounds from the C. nutans leaves (CNL) and stems (CNS). Chemical- and cell-based antioxidative assays were utilized to evaluate the bioactivities of CNS and CNL. The NMR metabolomics approach assisted in the identification of contributing phytocompounds. Based on DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities, CNL demonstrated stronger radical scavenging potential as compared to CNS. The leaf extract also recorded slightly higher reducing power properties. A HepG2 cell model system was used to investigate the ROS reduction potential of these extracts. It was shown that cells treated with CNL and CNS reduced innate ROS levels as compared to untreated controls. Interestingly, cells pre-treated with both extracts were also able to decrease ROS levels in cells induced with oxidative stress. CNL was again the better antioxidant. According to multivariate data analysis of the 1H NMR results, the main metabolites postulated to contribute to the antioxidant and hepatoprotective abilities of leaves were clinacoside B, clinacoside C and isoschaftoside, which warrants further investigation.  相似文献

Polyphenols and flavonoids possess a variety of biological activities including antioxidant and anti-tumor activities. Ixora parviflora is a member of the flavonoid-rich Rubiaceae family of flowering plants and used as folk medicine in India. The aim of this study was to investigate the antioxidant activity of Ixora parviflora extract (IPE) in a cell-free system and erythrocytes, and the ability of IPE to inhibit reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in human fibroblasts (Hs68) after ultraviolet (UV) exposure. Various in vitro antioxidant assays were employed in this study. The extraction yield of IPE was 17.4 ± 3.9%, the total phenolic content of IPE was 26.2 μg gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/mg leaves dry weight and the total flavonoids content was 54.2 ± 4.4 μg quercetin equvalent (QE)/mg extract. The content of chlorogenic acid was 9.7 ± 1.2 mg/g extract. IPE at 1000 μg/mL exhibited a reducing capacity of 90.5 ± 0.6%, a 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazy (DPPH) radical scavenging activity of 96.0 ± 0.4%, a ferrous chelating activity of 72.2 ± 3.5%, a hydroxyl radical scavenging activity of 96.8 ± 1.4%, and a hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity of 99.5 ± 3.3%. IPE at 500 μg/mL also possessed inhibitory activity against 2,2'-azobis (2-methylpropionamidine) dihydrochloride (AAPH)-induced hemolysis of erythrocytes (89.4 ± 1.8%) and resulted in a 52.9% reduction in ROS generation in UV-exposed fibroblasts. According to our findings, IPE is a potent antioxidant and a potential anti-photoaging agent.  相似文献

Skin aging is a complex process involving photoaging and glycation stress, which share some fundamental pathways and have common mediators. They can cause skin damage and collagen degradation by inducing oxidative stress and the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Chenopodium formosanum (CF), also known as Djulis, is a traditional cereal in Taiwan. This study investigated the protection mechanisms of CF extract against ultraviolet (UV) radiation and advanced glycation end products (AGEs)-induced stress. The results indicated that CF extract had strong antioxidant and free radical scavenging effects. It could reduce UV-induced intracellular ROS generation and initiate the antioxidant defense system by activating the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)/heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) signaling pathway in human skin fibroblasts. CF extract modulated mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and transformed growth factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling pathways to alleviate oxidative stress-induced skin aging. Moreover, the results revealed that CF extract not only promoted collagen synthesis but also improved aging-induced collagen degradation. CF extract attenuated AGEs-induced ROS production and the upregulation of receptor for AGEs (RAGE). The overall results suggest that CF extract provides an effective anti-aging strategy by preventing skin damage from oxidative stress and collagen loss with potent antioxidant, anti-photoaging, and antiglycation activities.  相似文献

The root of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb. (Heshouwu in Chinese) is one of the most popular herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). However, after steam processing (Zhi-heshouwu in Chinese), the root is known to have different properties and medicinal values compared with Heshouwu. Eleven volatile Maillard reaction products were identified in the extract of Zhi-heshouwu, but not in that of Heshouwu. The new products were four furanones, two furans, two nitrogen compounds, one pyran, one alcohol and one sulfur compound. The antioxidant activities were compared between the extracts from Zhi-heshouwu and Heshouwu. The results showed that the extract from Zhi-heshouwu presented a higher 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity than the extract from Heshouwu, with IC50 values of 0.43 mg/mL and 2.9 mg/mL, respectively (p < 0.05). The hydroxyl radical scavenging activities of the two were similar (IC50 0.98 mg/mL and 1.45 mg/mL, respectively; p > 0.05). 5-Hydroxymethyl-furfural, a main compound in the extract of Zhi-heshouwu, showed IC50 values for scavenging DPPH radicals and hydroxyl radicals of 1.6 mg/mL and 0.24 mg/mL, respectively. The antioxidant activities of the extract from Zhi-heshouwu could partly explain the different therapeutic effects of Heshouwu and Zhi-heshouwu in TCM.  相似文献

Terminalia bellerica has been used as a traditional medicine in a variety of ailments including anaemia, asthma, cancer, inflammation, rheumatism and hypertension. In this study, the free radical scavenging and antioxidant activities of methanol extract (ME) and its different solvent fractions (namely hexane (HE), ethyl acetate (EA), butanol (BL) and water (WA)) of the T. bellerica fruit pericarp were evaluated and compared with standard antioxidant compounds like gallic acid (GA), catechin and ascorbic acid. Among the different fractions tested, the EA fraction exhibited higher antioxidant and radical scavenging activity against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), superoxide and hydroxyl radicals than the other fractions, which may be attributed to its higher phenolic and flavonoid content, since a linear relation was observed between the phenolic content and the antioxidant parameters. The HPTLC analysis of the EA fraction revealed that it mainly contains GA and ferulic acid (FA) as major phenolics, and the higher antioxidant activities of EA fraction may be due to the presence of these compounds.  相似文献

This study investigated the in vitro antioxidant and anticancer properties of the Fomitopsis pinicola extract (EMFP). The antioxidant activity of EFMP was analysed via free radical scavenging (DPPH, ABTS and Hydroxyl radicals) assay and a protein oxidation assay. EFMP effectively scavenged free radicals and exhibited remarkable protection against protein oxidation. The proliferation of EMFP-treated HepG2 cells was remarkably decreased. EMFP effectively increased the reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, depleted the mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and promoted the apoptosis of HepG2 cells. In addition, EMFP increased the malondialdehyde (MDA) content and reduced the activities of SOD, CAT and GPx in HepG2 cells. Using UPLC-Triple-TOF-MS, 2 phenolic compounds and 14 triterpenes were identified. These compounds may be the primary contributors to the antioxidant and anticancer capacities of EMFP. Together, these findings highlight the possibility of exploiting EMFP for its desired pharmaceutical ingredients.  相似文献

Rhizophora apiculata (R. apiculata) contains an abundance of biologically active compounds due its special salt-tolerant living surroundings. In this study, the total phenolic content and antioxidant activities of various extract and fractions of stem of R. apiculata were investigated. Results indicated that butanol fraction possesses the highest total phenolic content (181.84 mg/g GAE/g dry extract) with strongest antioxidant abilities. Following in vitro antioxidant activity-guided phytochemical separation procedures, lyoniresinol-3α-O-β-arabinopyranoside (1), lyoniresinol-3α-O-β-rhamnoside (2), and afzelechin-3-O-L-rhamno-pyranoside (3) were separated from the butanol fraction. These compounds showed more noticeable antioxidant activity than a BHT standard in the DPPH, ABTS and hydroxyl radical scavenging assays. HPLC analysis results showed that among different plant parts, the highest content of 1-3 was located in the bark (0.068%, 0.066% and 0.011%, respectively). The results imply that the R. apiculata might be a potential source of natural antioxidants and 1-3 are antioxidant ingredients in R. apiculata.  相似文献

An efficient ultrasound-assisted extraction technique was employed to extract total flavonoids from Sparganii rhizoma. The optimum extraction conditions for the highest yield of total flavonoids were ethanol concentration 53.62%, ultrasonication time 29.41 min and ultrasound power 300 W, which were determined using response surface methodology. The extraction yields of the optimal ultrasound-assisted extraction were higher than using conventional extraction. The crude extract was then purified on a polyamide resin, whereby the flavonoids content in the purified extract increased to 94.62%. The antioxidant activities of the purified flavonoids including DPPH radical scavenging activity, ABTS+ radical scavenging activity, reducing power, hydroxyl radical scavenging activity and superoxide anion scavenging activity, were evaluated in vitro, which suggested that the flavonoids showed significant antioxidant activities. Rutin, kaempferol and formononetin were identified in the extract by comparing relative retention times and UV-Vis spectra with those of reference standards.  相似文献

The aim of the present work was to identify products obtained from genistein by ionizing radiation and to enhance the antioxidant properties of genistein through radiation-induced transformation. Genistein dissolved in methanol was irradiated γ-rays at a dose of 100 kGy. NMR and (HR) EI-MS spectroscopy were used to identify radiolysis products (GM1 and GM2). We proposed that CH2OH may be implicated in the formation GM1 and GM2 during radiolysis of genistein in methanol. The genistein in methanol solution showed higher DPPH radical scavenging activity after γ-irradiation. Then, the antioxidant activities of radiolysis products were evaluated and compared to those of genistein.  相似文献

The water-soluble polysaccharides from plants have attracted ever-increasing attention in the field of food and drug due to their various activities and low toxicity. CBP50-1, as a purified fraction of polysaccharide from the rhizome of Cibotium barometz (CBP), mainly consisted of glucose (55.45%) and xylose (25.27%). CBP50-1 showed excellent antioxidant activity for scavenging 2,2?Diphenyl?1?picryl?hydrazy (DPPH) radical and hydroxyl radical, further inhibiting lipid peroxidation. CBP50-1 significantly improved the survival rate of Caenorhabditis elegans under thermal and oxidative stress. Furthermore, CBP50-1 reduced the paralysis and oxidative damage induced by amyloid-beta (Aβ) and increased the antioxidant enzyme activity in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) model C. elegans CL4176 through c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal pathway. Thus, CBP50-1 had a potential application in health industries.  相似文献
