We study the operator algebra associated with a self-mapping ? on a countable set X which can be represented as a directed graph. The algebra is generated by the family of partial isometries acting on the corresponding l2(X). We study the structure of involutive semigroup multiplicatively generated by the family of partial isometries. We formulate the criterion when the algebra is irreducible on the Hilbert space. We consider the concrete examples of operator algebras. In particular, we give the examples of nonisomorphic C*-algebras, which are the extensions by compact operators of the algebra of continuous functions on the unit circle.  相似文献

In the paper, we consider the question as to whether a unital full amalgamated free product of quasidiagonal C*-algebras is itself quasidiagonal. We give a sufficient condition for a unital full amalgamated free product of quasidiagonal C*-algebras with amalgamation over a finite-dimensional C*-algebra to be quasidiagonal. By applying this result, we conclude that the unital full free product of two AF algebras with amalgamation over a finite-dimensional C*-algebra is AF if there exists a faithful tracial state on each of the two AF algebras such that the restrictions of these states to the common subalgebra coincide.  相似文献

The problem of construction a quantum mechanical evolution for the Schrödinger equation with a degenerate Hamiltonian which is a symmetric operator that does not have selfadjoint extensions is considered. Self-adjoint regularization of the Hamiltonian does not lead to a preserving probability limiting evolution for vectors from the Hilbert space but it is used to construct a limiting evolution of states on a C*-algebra of compact operators and on an abelian subalgebra of operators in the Hilbert space. The limiting evolution of the states on the abelian algebra can be presented by the Kraus decomposition with two terms. Both of these terms are corresponded to the unitary and shift components of Wold’s decomposition of isometric semigroup generated by the degenerate Hamiltonian. Properties of the limiting evolution of the states on the C*-algebras are investigated and it is shown that pure states could evolve into mixed states.  相似文献

We present general results about graded C*-algebras and continue the previously initiated research of the C*-algebra generated by the left regular representation of an abelian semigroup. We study the invariant ideals of this C*-algebra invariant with respect to the representation of a compact group G in the automorphism group of this algebra. We prove that the invariance of the ideal is equivalent to the fact that this ideal is graded C*-algebra, that there is a maximum of all invariant ideals, and it is the commutator ideal. Separately we study a class of graded primitive ideals generated by a single projector.  相似文献

We prove that each 2-local derivation from the algebra Mn(A ) (n > 2) into its bimodule Mn(M) is a derivation, where A is a unital Banach algebra and M is a unital A -bimodule such that each Jordan derivation from A into M is an inner derivation, and that each 2-local derivation on a C*-algebra with a faithful traceable representation is a derivation. We also characterize local and 2-local Lie derivations on some algebras such as von Neumann algebras, nest algebras, the Jiang–Su algebra, and UHF algebras.  相似文献

We propose a new algorithm for the character expansion of tensor products of finite-dimensional irreducible representations of simple Lie algebras. The algorithm produces valid results for the algebras B 3, C 3, and D 3. We use the direct correspondence between Weyl anti-invariant functions and multivariate second-kind Chebyshev polynomials. We construct the triangular trigonometric polynomials for the algebra D 3.  相似文献

We construct an inductive system of C*-algebras each of which is isomorphic to a finite tensor product of copies of the one-mode n-th degree polynomial extension of the usual Weyl algebra constructed in our previous paper (Accardi and Dhahri in Open Syst Inf Dyn 22(3):1550001, 2015). We prove that the inductive limit C*-algebra is factorizable and has a natural localization given by a family of C*-sub-algebras each of which is localized on a bounded Borel subset of \({\mathbb{R}}\). Finally, we prove that the corresponding family of Fock states, defined on the inductive family of C*-algebras, is projective if and only if n = 1. This is a weak form of the no-go theorems which emerge in the study of representations of current algebras over Lie algebras.  相似文献

We find a new representation of the simple Lie algebra of type E 6 on the polynomial algebra in 16 variables, which gives a fractional representation of the corresponding Lie group on 16-dimensional space. Using this representation and Shen’s idea of mixed product, we construct a new functor from D 5-Mod to E 6-Mod. A condition for the functor to map a finite-dimensional irreducible D 5-module to an infinite-dimensional irreducible E 6-module is obtained. Our results yield explicit constructions of certain infinite-dimensional irreducible weight E6-modules with finite-dimensional weight subspaces. In our approach, the idea of Kostant’s characteristic identities plays a key role.  相似文献

The action of N on l~2(N) is studied in association with the multiplicative structure of N. Then the maximal ideal space of the Banach algebra generated by N is homeomorphic to the product of closed unit disks indexed by primes, which reflects the fundamental theorem of arithmetic. The C*-algebra generated by N does not contain any non-zero projection of finite rank. This assertion is equivalent to the existence of infinitely many primes. The von Neumann algebra generated by N is B(l~2(N)), the set of all bounded operators on l~2(N).Moreover, the differential operator on l~2(N,1/n(n+1)) defined by ▽f = μ * f is considered, where μ is the Mbius function. It is shown that the spectrum σ(▽) contains the closure of {ζ(s)-1: Re(s) 1}. Interesting problems concerning are discussed.  相似文献

We consider the C*-algebra generated by multidimensional integral operators with (?n)th-order homogeneous kernels and by the operators of multiplication by oscillating coefficients of the form |x|. For this algebra, we construct an operator symbolic calculus and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the Fredholm property of an operator in terms of this calculus.  相似文献

We establish monotonicity and convexity criteria for a continuous function f: R+ → R with respect to any C*-algebra. We obtain an estimate for the measure of noncompactness of the difference of products of the elements of a W*-algebra. We also give a commutativity criterion for a positive τ-measurable operator and a positive operator from a von Neumann algebra.  相似文献

Representations on Hilbert spaces for a nonlocal C*-algebra \({{\mathfrak {B}}}\) of singular integral operators with piecewise slowly oscillating coefficients and unitary shift operators are constructed. The group of unitary shift operators U g of the C*-algebra \({{\mathfrak {B}}}\) is associated with an amenable discrete group of homeomorphisms \({g:{\mathbb{T}}\to{\mathbb{T}}}\) that have piecewise continuous derivatives and the same nonempty set of periodic points. An isometric C*-algebra homomorphism of the quotient C*-algebra \({{\mathfrak {B}}^\pi={\mathfrak {B}}/{\mathcal {K}}}\), where \({{\mathcal {K}}}\) is the ideal of compact operators, into an n × n matrix algebra associated to a C*-algebra \({{\mathfrak {B}}_0}\) of singular integral operators with shifts having only fixed points is established making use of a spectral measure. Based on this generalization of the Litvinchuk–Gohberg–Krupnik reduction scheme, a symbol calculus for the C*-algebra \({{\mathfrak {B}}}\) as well as a Fredholm criterion for the operators in \({{\mathfrak {B}}}\) are obtained.  相似文献

We prove automatic continuity theorems for “decomposable” or“local” linear transformations between certain natural subspaces of operator algebras. The transformations involved are not algebra homomorphisms but often are module homomorphisms. We show that all left (respectively quasi-) centralizers of the Pedersen ideal of a C*-algebra A are locally bounded if and only if A has no infinite dimensional elementary direct summand. It has previously been shown by Lazar and Taylor and Phillips that double centralizers of Pedersen’s ideal are always locally bounded.  相似文献

We formally define and study the distinguished pre-Nichols algebra \( \tilde{B} \)(V) of a braided vector space of diagonal type V with finite-dimensional Nichols algebra B(V). The algebra \( \tilde{B} \)(V) is presented by fewer relations than B(V), so it is intermediate between the tensor algebra T(V) and B(V). Prominent examples of distinguished pre-Nichols algebras are the positive parts of quantized enveloping (super)algebras and their multiparametric versions. We prove that these algebras give rise to new examples of Noetherian pointed Hopf algebras of finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension. We investigate the kernel (in the sense of Hopf algebras) of the projection from \( \tilde{B} \)(V) to B(V), generalizing results of De Concini and Procesi on quantum groups at roots of unity.  相似文献

A new inequality for a trace on a unital C*-algebra is established. It is shown that the inequality obtained characterizes the traces in the class of all positive functionals on a unital C*-algebra. A new criterion for the commutativity of unital C*-algebras is proved.  相似文献

We study properties of solution sets of inequalities of the form
$X^* AX + B^* X + X^* B + C \leqslant 0,$
, where A, B, and C are bounded Hilbert space operators and A and C are self-adjoint. The following properties are considered: closedness and inferior points in Standard operator topologies, convexity, and nonemptiness.

In this paper it is shown that the projective cover of the trivial irreducible module of a finite-dimensional solvable restricted Lie algebra is induced from the one dimensional trivial module of a maximal torus. As a consequence, the number of the isomorphism classes of irreducible modules with a fixed p-character for a finite-dimensional solvable restricted Lie algebra L is bounded above by p MT(L), where MT(L) denotes the maximal dimension of a torus in L. Finally, it is proved that in characteristic p > 3 the projective cover of the trivial irreducible L-module is induced from the one-dimensional trivial module of a torus of maximal dimension, only if L is solvable.  相似文献

We consider reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces of Dirichlet series with kernels of the form \(k\left( {s,u} \right) = \sum {{a_n}} {n^{ - s - \overline u }}\), and characterize when such a space is a complete Pick space. We then discuss what it means for two reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces to be “the same”, and introduce a notion of weak isomorphism. Many of the spaces we consider turn out to be weakly isomorphic as reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces to the Drury–Arveson space H d 2 in d variables, where d can be any number in {1, 2,...,∞}, and in particular their multiplier algebras are unitarily equivalent to the multiplier algebra of H d 2 . Thus, a family of multiplier algebras of Dirichlet series is exhibited with the property that every complete Pick algebra is a quotient of each member of this family. Finally, we determine precisely when such a space of Dirichlet series is weakly isomorphic as a reproducing kernel Hilbert space to H d 2 and when its multiplier algebra is isometrically isomorphic to Mult(H d 2 ).  相似文献
