New synthesis procedures are described to tetranuclear manganese carboxylate complexes containing the [Mn(4)O(2)](8+) or [Mn(4)O(3)X](6+) (X(-) = MeCO(2)(-), F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), NO(3)(-)) core. These involve acidolysis reactions of [Mn(4)O(3)(O(2)CMe)(4)(dbm)(3)] (1; dbm is the anion of dibenzoylmethane) or [Mn(4)O(2)(O(2)CEt)(6)(dbm)(2)] (8) with HX (X(-) = F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), NO(3)(-)); high-yield routes to 1 and 8 are also described. The X(-) = NO(3)(-) complexes [Mn(4)O(3)(NO(3))(O(2)CR)(3)(R'(2)dbm)(3)] (R = Me, R' = H (6); R = Me, R' = Et (7); R = Et, R' = H (12)) represent the first synthesis of the [Mn(4)O(3)(NO(3))](6+) core, which contains an unusual eta(1):mu(3)-NO(3)(-) group. Treatment of known [Mn(4)O(2)(O(2)CEt)(7)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4)) with HNO(3) gives [Mn(4)O(2)(NO(3))(O(2)CEt)(6)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4)) (15) containing a eta(1):eta(1):mu-NO(3)(-) group bridging the two body Mn(III) ions of the [Mn(4)O(2)](8+) butterfly core. Complex 7 x 4CH(2)Cl(2) crystallizes in space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with (at -168 degrees C) a = 21.110(3) A, b = 22.183(3) A, c = 15.958(2) A, Z = 4, and V = 7472.4(3) A(3). Complex 15 x (3)/(2)CH(2)Cl(2) crystallizes in space group P2(1)/c with (at -165 degrees C) a = 26.025(4) A, b = 13.488(2) A, c = 32.102(6) A, beta = 97.27(1) degrees, Z = 8, and V = 11178(5) A(3). Complex 7 contains a [Mn(4)(mu(3)-O)(3)(mu(3)-NO(3))](6+) core (3Mn(III), Mn(IV)) as seen for previous [Mn(4)O(3)X](6+) complexes. Complex 15 contains a butterfly [Mn(4)(mu(3)-O)(2)](8+) core. (1)H NMR spectra have been recorded for all complexes reported in this work and the various resonances assigned. All complexes retain their structural integrity on dissolution in chloroform and dichloromethane. Magnetic susceptibility (chi(M)) data were collected on 12 in the 5-300 K range in a 10.0 kG (1 T) field. Fitting of the data to the theoretical chi(M) vs T expression appropriate for a [Mn(4)O(3)X](6+) complex of C(3)(v)() symmetry gave J(34) = -23.9 cm(-)(1), J(33) = 4.9 cm(-)(1), and g = 1.98, where J(34) and J(33) refer to the Mn(III)Mn(IV) and Mn(III)Mn(III) pairwise exchange interactions, respectively. The ground state of the molecule is S = 9/2, as found previously for other [Mn(4)O(3)X](6+) complexes. This was confirmed by magnetization data collected at various fields and temperatures. Fitting of the data gave S = 9/2, D = -0.45 cm(-1), and g = 1.96, where D is the axial zero-field splitting parameter.  相似文献

The hydrothermal reaction of MoO(3) with BaH(3)IO(6) at 180 degrees C for 3 days results in the formation of Ba[(MoO(2))(6)(IO(4))(2)O(4)] x H(2)O (1). Under similar conditions, the reaction of Ba(OH)(2) x 8H(2)O with MoO(3) and Ba(IO(4))(2) x 6H(2)O yields Ba(3)[(MoO(2))(2)(IO(6))(2)] x 2H(2)O (2). The structure of 1, determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, consists of corner- and edge-sharing distorted MoO(6) octahedra that create two-dimensional slabs. Contained within this molybdenum oxide framework are approximately C(2v) tetraoxoiodate(V) anions, IO(4)(3-), that are involved in bonding with five Mo(VI) centers. The two equatorial oxygen atoms of the IO(4)(3-) anion chelate a single Mo(VI) center, whereas the axial atoms are mu(3)-oxo groups and complete the octahedra of four MoO(6) units. The coordination of the tetraoxoiodate(V) anion to these five highly electropositive centers is probably responsible for stabilizing the substantial anionic charge of this anion. The Ba(2+) cations separate the layers from one another and form long ionic contacts with neighboring oxygen atoms and a water molecule. Compound 2 also contains distorted MoO(6) octahedra. However, these solely edge-share with octahedral hexaoxoiodate(VII), IO(6)(5-), anions to form zigzagging one-dimensional, (1)(infinity)[(MoO(2))(IO(6))](3-), chains that are polar. These chains are separated from one another by Ba(2+) cations that are coordinated by additional water molecules. Bond valence sums for the iodine atoms in 1 and 2 are 5.01 and 7.03, respectively. Crystallographic data: 1, monoclinic, space group C2/c, a = 13.584(1) A, b = 7.3977(7) A, c = 20.736(2) A, beta = 108.244(2) degrees, Z = 4; 2, orthorhombic, space group Fdd2, a = 13.356(7) A, b = 45.54(2) A, c = 4.867(3) A, Z = 8.  相似文献

A 2-pyrazine carboxylate lithium monohydrate [Li(pyza)(H2O)]n was synthesized in a mixed solution of redistilled water and anhydrous ethanol. X-Ray crystallography was applied to characterizing its crystal structure. Low temperature molar heat capacities were measured in a temperature range of from 78 K to 400 K with a precision automatic adiabatic calorimeter. Two polynomial equations of experimental molar heat capacity as a function of temperature were obtained by the least-squares method. The smoothed molar heat capacities and thermodynamic functions of the compound were calculated based on the fitted polynomial equations. In accordance with Hess's law, a reasonable thermochemical cycle was designed based on the preparation reaction of the target compound. The standard molar enthalpies of dissolution for the reactants and products of the designed thermochemical reaction were measured by an isoperibol solution-reaction calorimeter, and the enthalpy change of the reaction was obtained, i.e.,ΔrHmθ=-(30.084±0.329) kJ/mol. The standard molar enthalpy of the formation of the target compound was determined as ΔfHθm{[Li(pyza)(h2o)]n(s)}=-(260.844±1.178) kJ/mol based on the enthalpy change of the reaction and standard molar enthalpies of the formation of other reactants and products. In addition, UV-Vis spectroscopy and the data of the refractive indexes were used to confirm whether the designed Hess thermochemical cycle was reasonable and reliable.  相似文献

The [3 + 1] reaction of [W(3)S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](4+) with [W(CO)(6)] in 2 M HCl under hydrothermal conditions (130 degrees C) gives the [W(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(12)](6+) cuboidal cluster, reduction potential 35 mV vs NHE (6+/5+ couple). The reduced form is obtained by controlled potential electrolysis. X-ray crystal structure was determined for (Me(2)NH(2))(6)[W(4)S(4)(NCS)(12)].0.5H(2)O. The W-W and W-S bond lengths are 2.840 and 2.379 A, respectively.  相似文献

The reactions of the molecular transition metal iodates A[CrO(3)(IO(3))] (A = K, Rb, Cs) with UO(3) under mild hydrothermal conditions provide access to four new, one-dimensional, uranyl chromatoiodates, Rb[UO(2)(CrO(4))(IO(3))(H(2)O)] (1) and A(2)[UO(2)(CrO(4))(IO(3))(2)] (A = K (2), Rb (3), Cs (4)). Under basic conditions, MoO(3), UO(3), and KIO(4) can be reacted to form K(2)[UO(2)(MoO(4))(IO(3))(2)] (5), which is isostructural with 2 and 3. The structure of 1 consists of one-dimensional[UO(2)(CrO(4))(IO(3))(H(2)O)](-) ribbons that contain uranyl moieties bound by bridging chromate and iodate anions as well as a terminal water molecule to create [UO(7)] pentagonal bipyramidal environments around the U(VI) centers. These ribbons are separated from one another by Rb(+) cations. When the iodate content is increased in the hydrothermal reactions, the terminal water molecule is replaced by a monodentate iodate anion to yield 2-4. These ribbons can be further modified by replacing tetrahedral chromate anions with MoO(4)(2)(-) anions to yield isostructural, one-dimensional [UO(2)(MoO(4))(IO(3))(2)](2)(-) ribbons. A general synthetic approach to rationalize the solution preparative chemistry of oxovanadium phosphates containing organic species as structural directing agents is presented. Careful attention is payed to the hydrolysis and condensation processes involving the ionic species in solution, and a simple restatement of the partial charge model (PCM) has been used in order to organize the experimental results. The structure of a new V(IV)-Fe(III) bimetallic oxovanadium phosphate, [H(3)N(CH(2))(2)NH(3)](2)[H(3)N(CH(2))(2)NH(2)] [Fe(III)(H(2)O)(2)(V(IV)O)(8)(OH)(4)(HPO(4))(4)(PO(4))(4)].4H(2)O, has been determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction methods. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n and the cell dimensions are as follows: a = 14.383(3) ?, b = 10.150(2) ?, c = 18.355(4) ?, and beta = 90.39(3) degrees (Z = 2). The existence of a complex intercrossing channel system, including a very large channel of 18.4 ? of diameter (in which both water molecules and ethylenediamine species are located), is the more interesting feature of this structure. Thermal decomposition, including the dehydration/rehydration process, has been studied by thermal analysis and variable temperature X-ray powder diffraction techniques. A complementary SEM study of the different intermediate decomposition products is presented.  相似文献

Two new complexes, [Mn2(L)2(H2bta)2(H2O)]n ( 1 ) and [Cu2(L)(H2bta)0.5(H2O)]n ( 2 ) (H4bta=1,2,4,5‐benzene‐tetracarboxylic acid, L=imidazo[4,5‐f][1,10]phenathroline) were prepared under hydrothermal conditions and their structures determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffration. The X‐ray diffraction reveals that complex 1 , consisting of two crystallographically independent fragments A1 and A2, displays an interesting 3D supramolecular network constructed with ABAB sequence through hydrogen bonding interactions. In complex 2 , the copper atoms connected by the H2bta2? ligands, the chains also are assembled into a 3D honeycomb configuration network formed by moleculars and aromatic π‐π stacking interactions.  相似文献

(H(3)O)(2)[V(4)(HPO(4))(PO(4))(3)O(6)F](2)[NC(7)H(14)](6) (labeled ULM-17) has been hydrothermally synthesized (150 degrees, 24 h, autogeneous pressure). It is monoclinic (space group P2(1)/c (No. 14)) with a = 21.4747(6) ?, b = 17.7223(5) ?, c = 20.1616(6) ?, beta = 94.329(1) degrees, and Z = 4. The structure consists in the hexagonal close packing of discrete hydronium cations, protonated quinuclidine and molecular anions [V(4)(HPO(4))(PO(4))(3)O(6)F](4)(-) (1) The structure presents two kinds of octameric anions built up from the tetrahedral arrangement of V(V)O(5)F octahedra sharing edges and vertices, capped by phosphorus tetrahedra. The stability of the solid is ensured via strong hydrogen bonds between the oxygens of the polyanions and the hydrogens of both hydronium and quinuclidinium cations. The particuliar location of fluorine at the center of the molecular anion 4-fold coordinated by V(V) was studied by solid state NMR.  相似文献

The trinuclear manganese complex [Mn(3)O(4)(phen)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(4).2.5H(2)O, 1 (where, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), has been synthesized by the Ce(IV) oxidation of a concentrated solution of manganese(II) acetate and phen in 1.6 N nitric acid. The complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group P&onemacr; with a = 10.700(2) ?, b = 12.643(3) ?, c = 20.509(4) ?, alpha = 78.37(3) degrees, beta = 83.12(3) degrees, gamma = 82.50(3) degrees, and Z = 2. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by least-squares techniques to the conventional R (R(w)) factors of 0.055 (0.076) based on 4609 unique reflections with F(o) >/= 6.0sigma(F(o)). The structure of the cation consists of an oxo-bridged Mn(3)O(4)(4+) core, with the geometry of the manganese atoms being octahedral. The coordination polyhedron of one of the manganese atoms (Mn(1)) consists of two &mgr; oxo ligands and two pairs of nitrogen atoms of two phen moieties, whereas that of each of the remaining two manganese atoms consists of three &mgr;-oxo ligands, two nitrogen atoms of a phen moiety, and the oxygen atom of a water molecule. The complex represents the second example for water coordination to manganese(IV) centers in complexes with a Mn(3)O(4)(4+) core. Optical spectra in ligand buffer (pH 4.5) reveal complete conversion of the complex into a Mn(III)Mn(IV) species. The observed room-temperature (298 K) magnetic moment of 3.75 &mgr;(B) indicates the presence of strong antiferromagnetic coupling in the complex.  相似文献

Reactions of the previously reported dinuclear vanadium(III) thiolate anion [V(2)(edt)(4)](2)(-) (edtH(2) = ethane-1,2-dithiol) are described. Treatment of (NEt(4))(2)[V(2)(edt)(4)] (1) in MeCN with equimolar (C(12)H(8)S(2))BF(4) (C(12)H(8)S(2)(+) = the thianthrenium radical cation) results in a one-electron oxidation and isolation of the V(III),V(IV) complex (NEt(4))[V(2)(edt)(4)] (2). The same product can also be obtained by controlled-potential electrolysis of 1 at -0.20 V vs Ag/AgCl. Treatment of 1 in CH(2)Cl(2) with py gives no reaction, but addition of Me(3)SiCl leads to formation of the known V(2)OCl(4)(py)(6) (3). The latter is also formed by the reduction of a 1:1 mixture of VOCl(3) and VCl(3)(THF)(3) in CH(2)Cl(2)/py and by the reaction in CH(2)Cl(2) of VCl(3)(THF)(3) and py with edt(2)(-). Treatment of 1 in MeCN with bpy (2,2'-bipyridine) gives no reaction, but addition of Me(3)SiCl results in formation and isolation of [V(2)OCl(2)(bpy)(4)]Cl(2) (4) identified by spectroscopic comparison with literature data. The reaction of 1 in MeCN with equimolar VCl(3)(THF)(3) and NEt(4)Cl gives (NEt(4))(3)[V(3)Cl(6)(edt)(3)] (5). A more convenient procedure to 5 is the reaction in MeCN of VCl(3)(THF)(3), Na(2)edt, and NEt(4)Cl in a 1:1:1 molar ratio. Complex 5.MeCN crystallizes in triclinic space group P&onemacr; with (at -154 degrees C) a = 14.918(3) ?, b = 17.142(5) ?, c = 11.276(3) ?, alpha = 106.78(1) degrees, beta = 95.03(1) degrees, gamma = 106.18(1) degrees, and Z = 2. The anion contains a near-linear V(3) unit with a face-sharing trioctahedral structure: the three edt(2)(-) groups provide the six bridging S atoms; two edt(2)(-) groups are in a &mgr;-eta(2):eta(2) mode (as in 1), but the third is in a &mgr;(3)-eta(1):eta(2):eta(1) mode. The V.V separations (>3.1 ?) preclude V-V bonding. Variable-temperature solid-state magnetic susceptibility studies have been performed on complexes 1, 2, and 5 in a 1.0 kG field and 5.00-300 K temperature range. For 1, the effective magnetic moment (&mgr;(eff)) gradually decreases from 1.09 &mgr;(B) at 300 K to 0.26 &mgr;(B) at 5.00 K. The data were fit to the Bleaney-Bowers equation, and the fitting parameters were J = -419(11) cm(-)(1) and g = 2.05. The singlet-triplet gap is thus 838 cm(-)(1). For 2, &mgr;(eff) is essentially temperature-independent, slowly decreasing from 1.90 &mgr;(B) at 300 K to 1.86 &mgr;(B) at 55 K and then to 1.63 &mgr;(B) at 5.00 K. The complex thus is S = (1)/(2) with no thermally accessible S = (3)/(2) state. The combined data on 1 and 2, together with the results of EHT calculations, show that 1 and 2 contain a V-V single bond tying up two of the d electrons and that the remaining two d electrons in 1 are antiferromagnetically coupled to give an S = 0 ground state and S = 1 excited state; for 2, the one remaining d electron gives an S = (1)/(2) state. For 5, &mgr;(eff) increases from 5.17 &mgr;(B) at 320 K to a maximum of 6.14 &mgr;(B) at 30.0 K and then decreases slightly to 6.08 &mgr;(B) at 5.00 K. The data were fit to the appropriate theoretical expression to give J = +42.5(6) cm(-)(1), J' = -1.8(5) cm(-)(1), and g = 1.77, where J and J' gauge the interactions between adjacent and terminal V(III) atoms, respectively. The complex has an S = 3 ground state and represents a very rare example of ferromagnetic coupling between V(III) centers.  相似文献

The sulfato bridged MnII phen complex [Mn(phen)(H2O)2SO4] ( 4 ) consists of [Mn(H2O)2(phen)(SO4)2/2] chains, which are generated from Mn atoms in distorted octahedral sites interlinked by bidentate sulfato bridges. Interdigitation of phen ligands leads to the formation of [Mn(H2O)2(phen)(SO4)2/2] double‐chains stabilized by significant π—π stacking interactions. The double‐chains are held together via interchain hydrogen bonds formed between water and sulfato O atoms. All four of the compounds contain mixed-valence V(5+)/V(4+) vanadium oxide layers constructed from V(5+)O(4) tetrahedra and pairs of edge-sharing V(4+)O(5) square pyramids with protonated organic amines occupying the interlayer space.  相似文献
