The photophysical and electrochemical properties of a series of mono- and bis-phosphine complexes of a 5,15-diphenyl-substituted ruthenium porphyrin, (MeOH)Ru(II)(CO)(DPP) 1, were investigated. The ligands used were diphenyl(phenylacetenyl)phosphine (DPAP), diethyl (phenylacetenyl)phosphonite [PAP(OEt)(2)], tris(phenylacetenyl)phosphine [(PA)(3)P], and bis(diphenylphosphino)acetylene (DPPA). All complexes display two reversible one-electron oxidations at: 0.61 and 1.0 V vs SCE (1), 0.42-0.51 and 0.97-1.05 V [(PR(3))Ru(II)(CO)(DPP)], and 0.06-0.25 and 0.82-0.95 V [(PR(3))(2)Ru(II)(DPP)]. As predicted by EHMO calculations, the first oxidation is porphyrin or phosphorus centered, whereas the second one is ruthenium centered. Bulk electrolysis at the first oxidation potential yields stable monocations. Simulation of the cyclic voltammogram of (DPAP)Ru(II)(CO)(DPP) in CH(2)Cl(2) demonstrates the kinetic lability of the complex, and the association constant found (K = 1.27 x 10(6) M(-1)) is in accordance with the value determined by UV-vis titration (K = 1.2 +/- 0.3 x 10(6) M(-1)). Coordination of one phosphine ligand to Ru(II)(CO)(DPP) leads to a red shift in both the absorption and luminescence spectra. Shifts are typically 10 nm for the B- and Q-band absorptions and are not affected by the nature of the phosphorus ligand. The intense luminescence of (PR(3))Ru(II)(CO)(DPP), red-shifted by 21-28 nm compared to 1, can be attributed to originate from a (3)(pi,pi) excited state, and it exhibits lifetimes from 150 to 240 micros. In the bis-phosphine complexes (PR(3))(2)Ru(II)(DPP), the Q-band absorption is broadened and does not show any distinct peak. Judged from EHMO calculation, this could arise from a low-energy charge-transfer state involving the phosphorus ligand. The luminescence is efficiently quenched due to radiationless decay from a charge-transfer excited state, involving either the metal center or the phosphorus ligand; an unambiguous assignment could not be made.  相似文献

The electrochemistry and spectroscopic properties of three iron corroles were examined in benzonitrile, dichloromethane, and pyridine containing 0.1 M tetra-n-butylammonium perchlorate or tetra-n-ethylammonium hexafluorophosphate as supporting electrolyte. The investigated compounds are represented as (OEC)Fe(IV)(C(6)H(5)), (OEC)Fe(IV)Cl, and (OEC)Fe(III)(py), where OEC is the trianion of 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octaethylcorrole. Each iron(IV) corrole undergoes two one-electron reductions and two or three one-electron oxidations depending upon the solvent. Under the same solution conditions, the iron(III) corrole undergoes a single one-electron reduction and one or two one-electron oxidations. Each singly oxidized and singly reduced product was characterized by UV-vis and/or EPR spectroscopy. The data indicate a conversion of (OEC)Fe(IV)(C(6)H(5)) and (OEC)Fe(IV)Cl to their iron(III) forms upon a one-electron reduction and to iron(IV) corrole pi cation radicals upon a one-electron oxidation. The metal center in [(OEC)Fe(III)(C(6)H(5))](-) is low spin (S = (1)/(2)) as compared to electrogenerated [(OEC)Fe(III)Cl](-), which contains an intermediate-spin (S = (3)/(2)) iron(III). (OEC)Fe(III)(py) also contains an intermediate-spin-state iron(III) and, unlike previously characterized (OEC)Fe(III)(NO), is converted to an iron(IV) corrole upon oxidation rather than to an iron(III) pi cation radical. Singly oxidized [(OEC)Fe(IV)(C(6)H(5))](*)(+) is the first iron(IV) tetrapyrrole pi cation radical to be isolated and was structurally characterized as a perchlorate salt. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P&onemacr; with a = 10.783(3) ?, b = 13.826(3) ?, c = 14.151(3) ?, alpha = 78.95(2) degrees, beta = 89.59(2) degrees, and gamma = 72.98(2) degrees at 293 K with Z = 2. Refinement of 8400 reflections and 670 parameters against F(o)(2) yields R1 = 0.0864 and wR2 = 0.2293. The complex contains a five-coordinated iron with average Fe-N bond lengths of 1.871(3) ?. The formulation of the electron distribution in this compound was confirmed by M?ssbauer, X-ray crystallographic, and magnetic susceptibility data as well as by EPR spectroscopy, which gives evidence for strong antiferromagnetic coupling between the iron(IV) center and the singly oxidized corrole macrocycle.  相似文献

We have synthesized a fused tetraanthracenylporphyrin by oxidation of a meso-anthracenyl nickel(II) porphyrin with FeCl(3). This compound exhibits an intense red-shifted absorption spectrum (λ(max) = 1417 nm; ε = 1.2 × 10(5) M(-1) cm(-1)) and a small electrochemical HOMO-LUMO gap (0.61 eV). The crystal structure shows that it forms π-stacked dimers with a short Ni···Ni distance (3.32 ?).  相似文献

The reactions of nitric oxide and carbon monoxide with water soluble iron and cobalt porphyrin complexes were investigated over the temperature range 298-318 K and the hydrostatic pressure range 0.1-250 MPa [porphyrin ligands: TPPS = tetra-meso-(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphinate and TMPS = tetra-meso-(sulfonatomesityl)porphinate]. Large and positive DeltaS(double dagger) and DeltaV(double dagger) values were observed for NO binding to and release from iron(III) complexes Fe(III)(TPPS) and Fe(III)(TMPS) consistent with a dissociative ligand exchange mechanism where the lability of coordinated water dominates the reactivity with NO. Small positive values for Delta and Delta for the fast reactions of NO with the iron(II) and cobalt(II) analogues (k(on) = 1.5 x 10(9) and 1.9 x 10(9) M(-1) s(-1) for Fe(II)(TPPS) and Co(II)(TPPS), respectively) indicate a mechanism dominated by diffusion processes in these cases. However, reaction of CO with the Fe(II) complexes (k(on) = 3.6 x 10(7) M(-1) s(-1) for Fe(II)(TPPS)) displays negative Delta and Delta values, consistent with a mechanism dominated by activation rather than diffusion terms. Measurements of NO dissociation rates from Fe(II)(TPPS)(NO) and Co(II)(TPPS)(NO) by trapping free NO gave k(off) values of 6.3 x 10(-4) s(-1) and 1.5 x 10(-4) s(-1). The respective M(II)(TPPS)(NO) formation constants calculated from k(on)/k(off) ratios were 2.4 x 10(12) and 1.3 x 10(13) M(-1), many orders of magnitude larger than that (1.1 x 10(3) M(-1)) for the reaction of Fe(III)(TPPS) with NO.  相似文献

A theoretical comparative study of complexes of porphyrin (P), porphyrazine (Pz), phthalocyanine (Pc), porphycene (Pn), dibenzoporphycene (DBPn), and hemiporphyrazine (HPz) with iron (Fe) has been carried out using a density functional theory (DFT) method. The difference in the core size and shape of the macrocycle has a substantial effect on the electronic structure and properties of the overall system. The ground states of FeP and FePc were identified to be the 3A2g [(d(xy))2(d(z)2)2(d(pi))2] state, followed by 3E(g) [(d(xy))2(d(z)2)1(d(pi))3]. For FePz, however, the 3E(g)-3A2g energy gap of 0.02 eV may be too small to distinguish between the ground and excited states. When the symmetry of the macrocycle is reduced from D4h to D2h, the degeneracy of the d(pi) (d(xz), d(yz)) orbitals is removed, and the ground state becomes 3B2g [(d(xy))2(d(z)2)1(d(yz))2(d(xz))1] or 3B3g [...(d(yz))1(d(xz))2] for FePn, FeDBPn, and FeHPz. The calculations also show how the change of the macrocycle can influence the axial ligand coordination of pyridine (Py) and CO to the Fe(II) complexes. Finally, the electronic structures of the mono- and dipositive and -negative ions for all the unligated and ligated iron macrocycles were elucidated, which is important for understanding the redox properties of these compounds. The differences in the observed electrochemical (oxidation and reduction) properties between metal porphycenes (MPn) and metal porphyrins (MP) can be accounted for by the calculated results (orbital energy level diagrams, ionization potentials, and electron affinities).  相似文献

The addition of the strongly pi-bonding ligands CO or tert-butyl isocyanide to the low-spin five-coordinate iron(II) nitrite species [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)]- (TpivPP = picket fence porphyrin) gives two new six-coordinate species [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(CO)]- and [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(t-BuNC)]-. These species have been characterized by single-crystal structure determinations and by UV-vis, IR, and M?ssbauer spectroscopies. All evidence shows that in the mixed-ligand iron(II) porphyrin species, [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(CO)]-, the two trans, pi-accepting ligands CO and nitrite compete for pi density. The CO ligand however dominates the bonding. The Fe-N(NO2) bond lengths for the two independent anions in the unit cell at 2.006(4) and 2.009(4) A are lengthened compared to other nitrite species with either no trans ligands or non-pi-accepting trans ligands to nitrite. The Fe-C(CO) bond lengths are 1.782(4) A and 1.789(5) A for the two anions. The two Fe-C-O angles at 175.5(4) and 177.5(4) degrees are essentially linear in both anions. The quadrupole splitting for [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(CO)]- was determined to be 0.32 mm/s, and the isomer shift was 0.18 mm/s at room temperature in zero applied field. Both of the M?ssbauer parameters are much smaller than those found for six-coordinate low-spin iron(II) porphyrinates with neutral nitrogen-donating ligands as well as iron(II) nitro complexes. However, the M?ssbauer parameters are typical of other six-coordinate CO porphyrinates signifying that CO is the more dominant ligand. The CO stretching frequency of 1974 cm(-1) is shifted only slightly to higher energy compared to six-coordinate CO complexes with neutral nitrogen-donor ligands trans to CO. Crystal data for [K(222)][Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(CO)].1/2C6H5Cl: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, Z = 8, a = 33.548(6) A, b = 18.8172(15) A, c = 27.187(2) A, beta = 95.240(7) degrees, V = 17091(4) A3.  相似文献

The syntheses of haloacetates of iron(II) and their reactivity are described. The compound Fe(CF3COO)2, 1, crystallizes from CF3COOH/(CF3CO)2O solution as the polynuclear [Fe(CF3COO)2(CF3COOH)2]n, 2, which contains bridging trifluoroacetates and monodentate trifluoroacetic acid groups. Fe(CF3COO)2(DMF)x, as obtained from Fe(CO)5 and CF3COOH/(CF3CO)2O in DMF, reacts with dioxygen at room temperature to give two micro3-oxo compounds, namely, [Fe3(micro3-O)(CF3COO)6(DMF)3], 3, a Fe(II)-Fe(III)-Fe(III) derivative, and [Fe4(micro3-O)2(micro2-CF3COO)6(CF3COO)2(DMF)4], 4, containing Fe(III) atoms only, which have been characterized by X-ray diffraction methods. Iron(II) chloro- and bromoacetates can be isolated by exchange reactions of iron(II) acetate with chloro- and bromo-substituted acetic acids in moderate to good yields. The stability of iron(II) haloacetates decreases on increasing the atomic weight and the number of halogens on the alpha-carbon atom. The species Fe(CX3COO)2 (X = Cl, 7; Br, 8), in THF solution, slowly convert into [Fe3(micro3-O)(CCl3COO)6(THF)3], 11, or [Fe3(micro3-O)(CBr3COO)6(THF)3][FeBr4], 10, respectively. Likewise, when iron(II) acetate (or trifluoroacetate) is left for several hours in the presence of a variety of haloacetic acids in THF, selective formation of different species, depending on the nature of the starting compound and of the acid employed, is observed. The formation of these products is the result of C-X bond activation (X = Cl, Br) and haloacetato decomposition, which occurs with concomitant oxidation at the metal centers. Carboxylic acid degradation species (CH2XCOOH, CX4, CX3H, CX2H2, X = Cl, Br) have been observed by GC-MS.  相似文献

We have prepared ionic liquids by mixing either iron(II) chloride or iron(III) chloride with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (BMIC). Iron(II) chloride forms ionic liquids from a mole ratio of 1 FeCl(2)/3 BMIC to almost 1 FeCl(2)/1 BMIC. Both Raman scattering and ab initio calculations indicate that FeCl(4)(2-) is the predominant iron-containing species in these liquids. Iron(III) chloride forms ionic liquids from a mole ratio of 1 FeCl(3)/1.9 BMIC to 1.7 FeCl(3)/1 BMIC. When BMIC is in excess, Raman scattering indicates the presence of FeCl(4-). When FeCl(3) is in excess, Fe(2)Cl(7-) begins to appear and the amount of Fe(2)Cl(7-) increases with increasing amounts of FeCl(3). Ionic liquids were also prepared from a mixture of FeCl(2) and FeCl(3) and are discussed. Finally, we have used both Hartree-Fock and density functional theory methods to compute the optimized structures and vibrational spectra for these species. An analysis of the results using an all-electron basis set, 6-31G, as well as two different effective core potential basis sets, LANL2DZ and CEP-31G is presented.  相似文献

Coordination of sigma-aryl carbanions by chloroiron(II) 5,20-ditolyl-10,15-diphenyl-21-oxaporphyrin (ODTDPP)Fe(II)Cl has been followed by (1)H NMR spectroscopy. Addition of pentafluorophenyl Grignard reagent (C(6)F(5))MgBr to the toluene solution of (ODTDPP)Fe(II)Cl in the absence of dioxygen at 205 K resulted in the formation of the high-spin (ODTDPP)Fe(II)(C(6)F(5)). The titration of (ODTDPP)Fe(II)Cl with a solution of (C(6)H(5))MgBr carried at 205 K yields a rare six-coordinate species which binds two sigma-aryl ligands [(ODTDPP)Fe(II)(C(6)H(5))(2)](-). Warming of the [(ODTDPP)Fe(II)(C(6)H(5))(2)](-) solution above 270 K results in the decomposition to mono-sigma-phenyliron species (ODTDPP)Fe(II)(C(6)H(5)). Controlled oxidation of [(ODTDPP)Fe(II)(C(6)H(5))(2)](-) with Br(2) affords (ODTDPP)Fe(III)(C(6)H(5))Br, which demonstrates a typical (1)H NMR pattern of low-spin sigma-aryl iron(III) porphyrin. The considered oxidation mechanism involves the (ODTDPP)Fe(III)(C(6)H(5))(2) species, which is readily reduced to the iron(I) 21-oxaporphyrin, followed by oxidation with Br(2) and replacement of one bromide anion by aryl substituent. The (1)H NMR spectra of paramagnetic iron complexes have been examined in detail. Functional group assignments have been made with the use of selective deuteration. The peculiar (1)H NMR spectral features of [(ODTDPP)Fe(II)(p-CH(3)C(6)H(4))(2)](-) (sigma-p-tolyl: ortho, 30.8; meta, 53.6; para-CH(3), 42.1; furan: -16.0; beta-H pyrrole: -27.5, -34.3, -41.8 ppm, at 205 K) are without a parallel to any iron(II) porphyrin or heteroporphyrin and indicate a profound alteration of the electronic structure of iron(II) porphyrin upon the coordination of two sigma-aryls.  相似文献

A series of mono-, di-, and tetranuclear homo/heterometallic complexes of Ru(II) and Os(II) based on the bridging ligand dppz(11-11')dppz (where dppz = dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine) (BL) have been synthesized and characterized. This bridging ligand is a long rigid rod with only one rotational degree of freedom and provides complete conjugation between the chromophores. The complexes synthesized are of general formula [(bpy)(2)Ru-BL](2+), [(phen)(2)/(bpy)(2)M-BL-M(bpy)(2)/(phen)(2)](4+) (M = Ru(II) and Os(II)), [(bpy)(2)Ru-BL-Os(bpy)(2)](4+), and [((bpy)(2)Ru-BL)(3)M](8+). Detailed (1)H NMR studies of these complexes revealed that each chiral center does not influence its neighbor because of the long distance between the metal centers and the superimposed resonances of the diastereoisomers, which allowed the unambiguous assignment of the signals, particularly for homonuclear complexes. Concentration-dependent (1)H NMR studies show molecular aggregation of the mono- and dinuclear complexes in solution by pi-pi stacking. Electrospray mass spectrometry data are consistent with dimerization of mono- and dinuclear complexes in solution. Electrochemical studies show oxidations of Ru(II) and Os(II) in the potential ranges +1.38 to +1.40 and +0.92 to +1.01 V, respectively. The bridging ligand exhibits two one-electron reductions, and it appears that the added electrons are localized on the phenazene moieties of the spacer. All of these complexes show strong metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) absorption and (3)MLCT luminescence at room temperature. Quantum yields have been calculated, and the emission lifetimes of all complexes have been measured by laser flash photolysis experiments. The luminescence intensity and lifetime data suggest that the emission due to the Ru center of the heteronuclear complexes is strongly quenched (>90%) compared to that of the corresponding model complexes. This quenching is attributed to intramolecular energy transfer from the Ru(II) center to the Os(II) center (k = (3-5) x 10(7) s(-1)) across the bridging ligand.  相似文献

The thermally unstable compound [Hg[P(C(6)F(5))(2)](2)] was obtained from the reaction of mercury cyanide and bis(pentafluorophenyl)phosphane in DMF solution and characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. The thermally stable trinuclear compounds [Hg[(mu-P(CF(3))(2))W(CO)(5)](2)] and [Hg[(mu-P(C(6)F(5))(2))W(CO)(5)](2)] are isolated and completely characterized. The higher order NMR spectra exhibiting multinuclear satellite systems have been sufficiently analyzed. [Hg[(mu-P(CF(3))(2))W(CO)(5)](2)].2DMF crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with a = 2366.2(3) pm, b = 1046.9(1) pm, c = 104.0(1) pm, and beta = 104.01(1) degrees. Structural, NMR spectroscopic, and vibrational data prove a weak coordination of the two DMF molecules. Structural, vibrational, and NMR spectroscopic evidence is given for a successive weakening of the pi back-bonding effect of the W-P bond in the order [W(CO)(5)PH(R(f))(2)], [Hg[(mu-P(R(f))(2))W(CO)(5)](2)], and [W[P(R(f))(2)](CO)(5)](-) with R(f) = C(6)F(5) and CF(3). The pi back-bonding effect of the W-C bonds increases vice versa.  相似文献

The formation and structural characteristics of Ru species applied as a cocatalyst on (Ga(1)(-)(x)()Zn(x)())(N(1)(-)(x)()O(x)()) are examined by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. RuO(2) is an effective cocatalyst that enhances the activity of (Ga(1)(-)(x)()Zn(x)())(N(1)(-)(x)()O(x)()) for overall water splitting under visible-light irradiation. The highest photocatalytic activity is obtained for a sample loaded with 5.0 wt % RuO(2) from an Ru(3)(CO)(12) precursor followed by calcination at 623 K. Calcination is shown to cause the decomposition of initial Ru(3)(CO)(12) on the (Ga(1)(-)(x)()Zn(x)())(N(1)(-)(x)()O(x)()) surface (373 K) to form Ru(IV) species (423 K). Amorphous RuO(2) nanoclusters are then formed by an agglomeration of finer particles (523 K), and the nanoclusters finally crystallize (623 K) to provide the highest catalytic activity. The enhancement of catalytic activity by Ru loading from Ru(3)(CO)(12) is thus shown to be dependent on the formation of crystalline RuO(2) nanoparticles with optimal size and coverage.  相似文献

The dicyanodicarbonyliron(II) thiolate complexes trans,cis-[(CN)(2)(CO)(2)Fe(S,S-C-R)](-) (R = OEt (2), N(Et)(2) (3)) were prepared by the reaction of [Na][S-C(S)-R] and [Fe(CN)(2)(CO)(3)(Br)](-) (1). Complex 1 was obtained from oxidative addition of cyanogen bromide to [Fe(CN)(CO)(4)](-). In a similar fashion, reaction of complex 1 with [Na][S,O-C(5)H(4)N], and [Na][S,N-C(5)H(4)] produced the six-coordinate trans,cis-[(CN)(2)(CO)(2)Fe(S,O-C(5)H(4)N)](-) (6) and trans,cis-[(CN)(2)(CO)(2)Fe(S,N-C(5)H(4))](-) (7) individually. Photolysis of tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution of complexes 2, 3, and 7 under CO led to formation of the coordinatively unsaturated iron(II) dicyanocarbonyl thiolate compounds [(CN)(2)(CO)Fe(S,S-C-R)](-) (R = OEt (4), N(Et)(2) (5)) and [(CN)(2)(CO)Fe(S,N-C(5)H(4))](-) (8), respectively. The IR v(CN) stretching frequencies and patterns of complexes 4, 5, and 8 have unambiguously identified two CN(-) ligands occupying cis positions. In addition, density functional theory calculations suggest that the architecture of five-coordinate complexes 4, 5, and 8 with a vacant site trans to the CO ligand and two CN(-) ligands occupying cis positions serves as a conformational preference. Complexes 2, 3, and 7 were reobtained when the THF solution of complexes 4, 5, and 8 were exposed to CO atmosphere at 25 degrees C individually. Obviously, CO ligand can be reversibly bound to the Fe(II) site in these model compounds. Isotopic shift experiments demonstrated the lability of carbonyl ligands of complexes 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8. Complexes [(CN)(2)(CO)Fe(S,S-C-R)](-) and NiA/NiC states [NiFe] hydrogenases from D. gigas exhibit a similar one-band pattern in the v(CO) region and two-band pattern in the v(CN) region individually, but in different positions, which may be accounted for by the distinct electronic effects between [S,S-C-R](-) and cysteine ligands. Also, the facile formations of five-coordinate complexes 4, 5, and 8 imply that the strong sigma-donor, weak pi-acceptor CN(-) ligands play a key role in creating/stabilizing five-coordinate iron(II) [(CN)(2)(CO)Fe(S,S-C-R)](-) complexes with a vacant coordination site trans to the CO ligand.  相似文献

Porphyrin-manganese(V)-oxo and porphyrin-manganese(IV)-oxo species were produced in organic solvents by laser flash photolysis (LFP) of the corresponding porphyrin-manganese(III) perchlorate and chlorate complexes, respectively, permitting direct kinetic studies. The porphyrin systems studied were 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP), 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin (TPFPP), and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-methylpyridinium)porphyrin (TMPyP). The order of reactivity for (porphyrin)Mn(V)(O) derivatives in self-decay reactions in acetonitrile and in oxidations of substrates was (TPFPP) > (TMPyP) > (TPP). Representative rate constants for reaction of (TPFPP)Mn(V)(O) in acetonitrile are k = 6.1 x 10(5) M(-1) s(-1) for cis-stilbene and k = 1.4 x 10(5) M(-1) s(-1) for diphenylmethane, and the kinetic isotope effect in oxidation of ethylbenzene and ethylbenzene-d(10) is k(H)/k(D) = 2.3. Competitive oxidation reactions conducted under catalytic conditions display approximately the same relative rate constants as were found in the LFP studies of (porphyrin)Mn(V)(O) derivatives. The apparent rate constants for reactions of (porphyrin)Mn(IV)(O) species show inverted reactivity order with (TPFPP) < (TMPyP) < (TPP) in reactions with cis-stilbene, triphenylamine, and triphenylphosphine. The inverted reactivity results because (porphyrin)Mn(IV)(O) disproportionates to (porphyrin)Mn(III)X and (porphyrin)Mn(V)(O), which is the primary oxidant, and the equilibrium constants for disproportionation of (porphyrin)Mn(IV)(O) are in the order (TPFPP) < (TMPyP) < (TPP). The fast comproportionation reaction of (TPFPP)Mn(V)(O) with (TPFPP)Mn(III)Cl to give (TPFPP)Mn(IV)(O) (k = 5 x 10(8) M(-1) s(-1)) and disproportionation reaction of (TPP)Mn(IV)(O) to give (TPP)Mn(V)(O) and (TPP)Mn(III)X (k approximately 2.5 x 10(9) M(-1) s(-1)) were observed. The relative populations of (porphyrin)Mn(V)(O) and (porphyrin)Mn(IV)(O) were determined from the ratios of observed rate constants for self-decay reactions in acetonitrile and oxidation reactions of cis-stilbene by the two oxo derivatives, and apparent disproportionation equilibrium constants for the three systems in acetonitrile were estimated. A model for oxidations under catalytic conditions is presented.  相似文献

By reaction of Cu(2)CO(3)(OH)(2), 2-benzylmalonic acid (H(2)Bzmal), and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), [Cu(Bzmal)(phen)(H(2)O)] x 3H(2)O (compound 1) has been obtained and characterized by thermal, spectral, magnetic, and X-ray diffraction methods. The molecular structure of 1 is remarkably similar to that of [Cu(Bzmal)(bipy)(H(2)O)] x 2H(2)O (compound 2, bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine). In both complexes, the aryl(Bzmal) ring produces an unexpected pi,pi-stacking interaction with the Cu(II)-(aromatic alpha,alpha'-diimine) chelate ring, at an average distance d(pi)(-)(pi) of 3.40 A, involving roughly parallel and smoothly slipped rings. This insight is discussed as new structural evidence for metalloaromaticity of Cu(II)-(aromatic alpha,alpha'-diimine) chelate rings. Interestingly, 1 recognizes itself by a weak intermolecular pi,pi-stacking interaction between aryl(Bzmal) ligands to give pairs of complex molecules. In contrast, there is an intermolecular pyridyl-pyridyl pi,pi-stacking interaction also forming pairs of complex molecules in 2.  相似文献

The polyanionic water-soluble and non-mu-oxo-dimer-forming iron porphyrin iron(III) 5(4),10(4),15(4),20(4)-tetra-tert-butyl-5(2),5(6),15(2),15(6)-tetrakis[2,2-bis(carboxylato)ethyl]-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin, (P(8-))Fe(III) (1), was synthesized as an octasodium salt by applying well-established porphyrin and organic chemistry procedures to bromomethylated precursor porphyrins and characterized by standard techniques such as UV-vis and (1)H NMR spectroscopy. A single pK(a1) value of 9.26 was determined for the deprotonation of coordinated water in (P(8-))Fe(III)(H(2)O)(2) (1-H(2)()O) present in aqueous solution at pH <9. The porphyrin complex reversibly binds NO in aqueous solution to give the mononitrosyl adduct, (P(8-))Fe(II)(NO(+))(L), where L = H(2)O or OH(-). The kinetics of the binding and release of NO was studied as a function of pH, temperature, and pressure by stopped-flow and laser flash photolysis techniques. The diaqua-ligated form of the porphyrin complex binds and releases NO according to a dissociative interchange mechanism based on the positive values of the activation parameters DeltaS() and DeltaV() for the "on" and "off" reactions. The rate constant k(on) = 6.2 x 10(4) M(-1) s(-1) (24 degrees C), determined for NO binding to the monohydroxo-ligated (P(8-))Fe(III)(OH) (1-OH) present in solution at pH >9, is markedly lower than the corresponding value measured for 1-H(2)O at lower pH (k(on) = 8.2 x 10(5) M(-1) s(-1), 24 degrees C, pH 7). The observed decrease in the reactivity is contradictory to that expected for the diaqua- and monohydroxo-ligated forms of the iron(III) complex and is accounted for in terms of a mechanistic changeover observed for 1-H(2)O and 1-OH in their reactions with NO. The mechanistic interpretation offered is further substantiated by the results of water-exchange studies performed on the polyanionic porphyrin complex as a function of pH, temperature, and pressure.  相似文献

(R-DAB)FeI(2) complexes containing bidentate diimide ligands (R-DAB = RN=CH-CH=NR; R = (i)Pr, c-C(6)H(11)) have been investigated for their ability to react with carbon monoxide to form iron(II) dicarbonyl complexes, (R-DAB)FeI(2)(CO)(2). Solution IR spectroscopy revealed two νCO stretches between 2000 and 2040 cm(-1) corresponding to a cis-arrangement of the carbonyl ligands around the iron. Photochemical decarbonylation was achieved by UV irradiation (365 nm), which occurred within 5 min as evidenced by solution IR spectroscopy. (c-C(6)H(11)-DAB)FeI(2) has been characterised by X-ray crystallography. Reactions using (11)C-labelled carbon monoxide were investigated and revealed that both (R-DAB)FeI(2) species were not effective as trapping complexes due to the low concentrations of [(11)C]CO used in these experiments. A Fe(TPP)(THF)(x) (TPP = tetraphenylporphyrin) complex was investigated with unlabelled CO and the monocarbonyl adduct Fe(TPP)(THF)CO was formed in situ as identified by IR spectroscopy (νCO = 1966 cm(-1)) yet was stable to CO loss upon UV irradiation. Carbonylation reactions of in situ-generated Fe(TPP)(THF)(x) using [(11)C]CO revealed that 97% of the [(11)C]CO stream could be trapped in one pass of the gas at room temperature and at atmospheric pressure.  相似文献

A new group of CO-releasing molecules, CO-RMs, based on cyclopentadienyl iron carbonyls have been identified. X-Ray structures have been determined for [(eta-C(5)H(4)CO(2)Me)Fe(CO)(2)X], X = Cl, Br, I, NO(3), CO(2)Me, [(eta-C(5)H(4)CO(2)Me)Fe(CO)(2)](2), [(eta-C(5)H(4)CO(2)CH(2)CH(2)OH)Fe(CO)(2)](2) and [(eta-C(5)H(4)CO(2)Me)Fe(CO)(3)][FeCl(4)]. Half-lives for CO release, (1)H, (13)C, and (17)OC NMR and IR spectra have been determined along with some biological data for these compounds, [(eta-C(5)H(4)CO(2)CH(2)CH(2)OH)Fe(CO)(3)](+) and [[eta-C(5)H(4)(CH(2))(n)CO(2)Me]Fe(CO)(3)](+), n = 1, 2. More specifically, cytotoxicity assays and inhibition of nitrite formation in stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages are reported for most of the compounds analyzed. [(eta-C(5)H(5))Fe(CO)(2)X], X = Cl, Br, I, were also examined for comparison. Correlations between the half-lives for CO release and spectroscopic parameters are found within each group of compounds, but not between the groups.  相似文献
