FeIII–hypohalite complexes have been implicated in a wide range of important enzyme‐catalyzed halogenation reactions including the biosynthesis of natural products and antibiotics and post‐translational modification of proteins. The absence of spectroscopic data on such species precludes their identification. Herein, we report the generation and spectroscopic characterization of nonheme FeIII–hypohalite intermediates of possible relevance to iron halogenases. We show that FeIII‐OCl polypyridylamine complexes can be sufficiently stable at room temperature to be characterized by UV/Vis absorption, resonance Raman and EPR spectroscopies, and cryo‐ESIMS. DFT methods rationalize the pathways to the formation of the FeIII‐OCl, and ultimately FeIV?O, species and provide indirect evidence for a short‐lived FeII‐OCl intermediate. The species observed and the pathways involved offer insight into and, importantly, a spectroscopic database for the investigation of iron halogenases.  相似文献

The equimolar reactions of Ph 3 Bi with the bifunctional tetradentate Schiff bases proceed with cleavage of two Bi--C bond of Ph 3 Bi and result in the formation of phenylbismuth(III) derivatives PhBi[RC(NC 6 H 4 S)CH 2 (NC 6 H 4 S)CCOOCH 3 ] where R = C 6 H 5 , 4-ClC 6 H 4 ,4-BrC 6 H 4 , and 4-CH 3 C 6 H 4 . Physico-chemical, IR, and NMR ( 1 H and 13 C) spectral studies have been carried out to investigate the structural aspect of these derivatives which reveal a penta coordination around the central Bi atom.  相似文献

Sterically hindered water-soluble iron(III) tetrakis(sulfonatomesityl)porphine (FeTSMP) exists exclusively in its monomer form in neutral and basic aqueous solutions. The acid dissociation constant (pKa) for FeIIITSMP is 6.6. The FeIII/IITSMP couple has a formal reduction potential at ?0.22 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) in an acidic buffer solution. The E°-pH diagram shows that E° is independent of pH until the pH is larger than the pKa. The acid dissociation constant for FeIITSMP is 11.7. The redox potential of FeIII/IITSMP shifts positively when imidazole is present, indicating the ligation of imidazole to FeIITSMP. At pH 4.0 and 10.2 buffer solutions, two imidazoles are found to ligate at the iron(III) center with β2 = 104.7 and 104.1, respectively. The E°-pH diagram indicates that the pKa of (ImH)2FeIIITSMP is 11.3 at 0.03 M imidazole solution. The oxidation of FeIIITSMP could involve two one-electron transfer processes, namely, one electron oxidation at the iron center, while another at the porphyrin ring. The two one-electron oxidations are found to overlap at pH = 5.5 and separate as the pH increases by shifting of the potential at the iron center, which is pH dependent. The radical cation of porphyrin ring is not stable and decomposes rapidly in water.  相似文献

The determination of trace iron(II) is usually interfered by the presence of iron(III) when ortho-phenanthroline colorimetric method is used. In this report a chromogenic reagent which contains ortho-phenanthroline-EDTA mixture has been developed to decrease the interference of ferric ion after adjusting the acidity of sample at 0.1 N by adding the sulfuric acid. The procedure is also simplified by introducing sulfamate buffer solution (pH= 1.5) without adjusting the acidity of sample with sulfuric acid. If iron(III) is not present in the sample, this method is also applicable. The comparative results are exhibited for the present method and the conventional o-phenanthroline method.  相似文献

Zeolite imidazole frameworks 8(ZIF-8) and modified ones after pyrolysis are highly promising toward oxygen reduction reaction(ORR). Especially, the compositional modification of ZIF-8 is crucial to the enhancement of ORR performance, yet limited to the substitution of skeletal Zn(II) with other cations or simple physical adsorption of cations. Herein, we report the decoration of ZIF-8 with ORR active hemin(FeP) and Co(III) protoporphyrin(CoP) via the coordination between the peripheral carboxylic group of FeP and CoP with skeletal Zn(II). This allows well control over the quantity of loaded FeP and CoP, critical to the synthesis of advanced electrocatalysts. Subsequent pyrolysis of FeP and CoP co-decorated ZIF-8 leads to highly active ORR electrocatalysts with a half-wave potential(E1/2) of 0. 913 V(vs. RHE) in 0.1 mol/L KOH aq. and an E1/2 of 0.803 V(vs. RHE) in 0.1 mol/L HClO4 aq. Moreover, our electrocatalyst shows much more improved and comparable durability in alkaline and acidic media, respectively, during 3000 cycles of cyclic voltammetry(CV) scanning relative to commercial Pt/C.  相似文献

New bis[N‐(2,6‐di‐tert‐butyl‐1‐hydroxyphenyl)salicylideneminato]copper(II) complexes bearing HO and CH3O substituents on the salicyaldehyde moiety were prepared, and have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV/Vis, ESR spectroscopy, and magnetic moments. It has been found that in the synthesis of CH3O substituted complexes unlike HO bearing, the oxidative C–C coupling of coordinated salicylaldimine ligands take place. It has been suggested that the intermolecular H‐bonding is a dominant factor in controlling of oxidative C–C coupling conversion. The powder ESR spectra of CH3O substituted compounds unlike of HO are typical of a triplet state CuII dimers with a half‐field forbidden (δM = ± 2) and the allowed (δM = ± 1) transitions at 300 and 113 K.  相似文献

The structures of intermediates generated by the activation of 2,6-bis[1-(2,6-dimethylphenylimino)ethyl]pyridineiron(II) chloride (1) with various cocatalysts, methylalumoxane (MAO), trimethylaluminum (TMA), and TMA in combination with B(C6F5)3and Ph3CB(C6F5)4, is studied by 1H and 2HNMR spectroscopy. The 1/AlMe3system exhibits a higher catalytic activity in ethylene polymerization than the 1/MAO system. The activity of the latter decreases sharply with a decrease in the amount of AlMe3in MAO. Neutral Fe(II) complexes rather than cationic intermediates are suggested to be active components in both catalytic systems.  相似文献

Co‐crystallization of a cationic FeII complex with a partially charged TCNQ.δ? (7,7′,8,8′‐tetracyanoquinodimethane) radical anion has afforded molecular materials that behave as narrow band‐gap semiconductors, [Fe(tpma)(xbim)](X)(TCNQ)1.5?DMF (X=ClO4? or BF4?; tpma=tris(2‐pyridylmethyl)amine, xbim=1,1′‐(α,α′‐o‐xylyl)‐2,2′‐bisimidazole). Remarkably, these complexes also exhibit temperature‐and light‐driven spin crossover at the FeII center, and are thus the first structurally defined magnetically bistable semiconductors assembled with the TCNQ.δ? radical anion. Transport measurements reveal the conductivity of 0.2 S cm?1 at 300 K, with the low activation energy of 0.11 eV.  相似文献

For the first time, the voltammetry of an ensemble of immobilized benzonitrile microdroplets containing 5,10,15,20‐tetraphenyl‐21H,23H‐porphine iron (III) chloride, TPPFeCl immobilized at platinum electrodes immersed in various aqueous electrolytes has been explored. The reduction of TPPFeCl was observed with the voltammetric response seen to be highly dependent on the nature of ions in the surrounding aqueous phase. Unlike voltammetry in purely homogeneous solution the nature of the aqueous electrolyte can influence the voltammetry in the droplet phase. The electrochemical reduction of TPPFeCl contained within tetrabutylammonium chloride (TBACl) supported benzonitrile (PhCN) microdroplets immersed into an aqueous solution of TBACl was first studied. During TPPFeCl reduction the resulting [TPPFeCl]? species is stabilized due to the excess of chloride anions inside the oil droplet. Voltammograms of homogeneous solutions of PhCN supported with TBACl show similar chemically reversible process which is also attributed to the stable [TPPFeCl]? species. This anion stabilization was not observed when the oil droplets were supported with tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP) or when the PhCN solution bathing the microdroplet ensemble was supported with TBAP resulting in a chemically irreversible process. The voltammetry of unsupported droplets immobilized on a platinum electrode immersed in different aqueous electrolytes was also explored and the fate of the [TPPFeCl]? species formed considered during the reduction sweep. Similarities and difference to voltammetry in purely homogeneous media are noted and the use of droplet voltammetry provides complimentary information.  相似文献

Three iron complexes of the meso-dioxo derivative of octaethylporphryin (trans-H(2)OEPO(2)) were characterized by X-ray diffraction. Green ClFe(III)(trans-OEPO(2)).1.5C(6)H(6) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with a = 13.766(3) ?, b = 19.075(3) ?, c = 15.217(3) ?, beta = 99.87(2) degrees at 123 K with Z = 4. Refinement of 2712 reflections with F > 6.0sigma(F) and 223 parameters yielded R = 0.0624, R(w) = 0.0596. The iron complex contains a domed dioxoporphodimethene macrocyclic ligand. The observation of a five-coordinate iron(III) ion with an axial Fe-Cl distance of 2.232(2) ? and in-plane Fe-N distances averaging 2.082 ? is consistent with its high-spin (S = (5)/(2)) character. This monomer is readily converted to the green {Fe(III)(trans-OEPO(2))}(2)O using aqueous hydroxide. {Fe(III)(trans-OEPO(2))}(2)O crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with a = 23.541(8) ?, b = 15.392(5) ?, c = 18.686(8) ?, and beta = 90.09(3) degrees at 294 K with Z = 8. Refinement of 3472 reflections with F > 6.0sigma(F) and 393 parameters yielded R = 0.0484, R(w) = 0.0527. The complex possesses a crystallographically imposed 2-fold symmetry axis that passes through the oxo ligand. The dioxoporphodimethene ligands within the molecule are roof-shaped and fold away from each other. The axial Fe-O distance is 1.749(1) ? with longer in-plane Fe-N distances (average 2.077 ?). The Fe-O-Fe angle of 165.4(2) degrees deviates significantly from linearity and is more acute than related porphyrin complexes. Pyridine solutions of either the iron(III) monomer or &mgr;-oxo dimer autoreduce over a period of days to give (py)(2)Fe(II)(trans-OEPO(2)). This red compound crystallizes in the space group P2(1) with a = 19.177(4) ?, b = 20.039(4) ?, c = 10.547(2) ?, and beta = 100.36(3) degrees at 130 K with Z = 2. Refinement of 5090 reflections with one restraint and 984 parameters yielded R1 = 0.0684, wR2 = 0.1763. The complex crystallizes with two distinct molecules in the asymmetric unit; each molecule contains a different degree of disorder with respect to the trans meso oxygen atoms (50/50, 71/29). Each independent molecule exhibits severe ruffling of the macrocycle. The six coordinate iron(II) center is diamagnetic. The axial Fe-N(pyridine) distances average 1.98 ?, and the in-plane Fe-N(pyrrole) distances average 1.95 ?. A common trend observed for the dioxoporphodimethene macrocycle in all of these structures is an elongation toward the trans oxidized meso carbons. These complexes were originally prepared as cis and trans isomeric mixtures that can be enriched in the trans isomer by fractional crystallization. This is evident in their distinctive (1)H NMR spectra. In addition, these compounds are characterized by electron impact mass spectrometry and UV-visible, ESR, and infrared spectroscopies.  相似文献

The reactions of sterically hindered amines (SHA) were investigated in acetonitrile solutions and TiO2 suspensions upon exposure to monochromatic radiation, λ = 365 nm, by means of in situ EPR spectroscopy. The formation of singlet oxygen, as one of the possible oxidation agents for SHA, in these systems is affected significantly by solvent used and the experimental conditions. Experiments in homogeneous media evidenced alternative pathways for the SHA oxidation with a variety reactive oxygen species involved. In anhydrous acetonitrile solutions containing KO2, the SHA oxidation was negligible not only in the dark but also on continuous exposure. However, the presence of water, even at low concentrations, led to the transformation of O2?? to singlet oxygen and hydrogen peroxide, which served as a source of hydroxyl radicals. These species participated in oxidation of SHA resulting in the generation of nitroxide radicals. To investigate the influence of different competitive reactions of SHA with other ROS formed upon TiO2 photoexcitation, a series of experiments using different additives (e.g. KO2, H2O2, NaN3, dimethylsulfoxide, methanol as organic cosolvents) under air or argon were performed. The detailed analysis of paramagnetic intermediates formed upon the irradiation of the studied systems was accomplished using EPR spin trapping technique.  相似文献

This study shows the ESR spectra of oxoiron(IV) porphyrin pi-cation radicals of 1-8 in dichloromethane-methanol (5:1) mixture. We reported in a previous paper that oxoiron(IV) porphyrin pi-cation radicals of 1-4 are in an a(1u) radical state while those of 5-8 are in an a(2u) radical. The ESR spectra (g( perpendicular)(eff) approximately 3.1 and g( parallel)(eff) approximately 2.0) for the a(1u) radical complexes, 1-4, appear quite different from those reported previously for the oxoiron(IV) porphyrin pi-cation radical of 5 (g(y) = 4.5, g(x) = 3.6, and g(z) = 1.99). The unique ESR spectra of the a(1u) radical complexes rather resemble those of compound I from Micrococcus lysodeikticus catalase (CAT) and ascorbate peroxidase (ASP). This is the first examples to mimic the ESR spectra of compound I in the enzymes. From spectral analysis based on a spin Hamiltonian containing an exchange interaction, the ESR spectra of 1-4 can be explained as a moderate ferromagnetic state (J/D approximately 0.3) between ferryl S = 1 and the porphyrin pi-cation radical S' = (1)/(2). The magnitudes of zero-field splitting (D) for ferryl iron and isotropic J value, estimated from the temperature-dependence of the half-saturation power of the ESR signals, are approximately 28 and approximately +8 cm(-1), respectively. A change in the electronegativity of the beta-pyrrole substituent hardly changes the ESR spectral feature while that of the meso-substituent slightly does owing to the change in the E/D value. On the basis of the present ESR results, we propose the a(1u) radical state for compound I of CAT and ASP.  相似文献

Abstract

A method for the spectrophotometrio determination of copper(II), in the presence of iron(III) cations (excess), was stablished. The masking of iron is made with sodium fluoride salt in 50 % (v/v) water/acetone medium. In the recommended conditions, absorbances for cupric complexes are measured at 435 nm where molar absorptivity is 6.00 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1.

The stable ayetern obeys Beer's law and is suitable for the copper determination in concentration range from 2.0 to 9.0 mg 1?l. The iron(III) ion interference (until ca. 600 mg 1?l) can be completely suppressed. The influence of diverse ions and several others factore were studied.

The results show that copper(II) can be accurately determined by azide apectrophotometric method, if the samples were suitablely treated by the recommended procedure.  相似文献

Herein the formation of water molecules in the intermediate step of the redox reaction of porphyrins self‐metalation on O/Cu(111) is demonstrated. Photoemission measurements show that the temperature on which porphyrins pick‐up a substrate metal atom on O/Cu(111) is reduced by about 185±15 K with respect to the pure Cu(111). DFT calculations clearly indicate that the formation of a water molecule is less expensive than the formation of H2 on the O/Cu(111) substrate and, in some cases, it can be also exothermic.  相似文献
