We report crystalline mixed-ligand copper complexes with phenanthroline and isocyanides with almost millesecond emission lifetimes that are efficient dioxygen sensors. The oxygen sensitivity of the prototype ([Cu(CN-xylyl)(2)(dmp)]tfpb, dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline; CN-xylyl = 2,6-dimethylphenylisocyanide; tfpb = tetrakis(bis-3,5-trifluoromethylphenylborate) is 38 times better than that of [Ru(phen)(3)]tfpb(2) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline).  相似文献

The reaction of a monosubstituted Keggin polyoxometalate (POM) generated in situ with copper-phenanthroline complexes in excess ammonium or rubidium acetate led to the formation of the hybrid metal organic-inorganic compounds A7[Cu2(ac)2(phen)2(H2O)2][Cu3(ac)3(phen)3(H2O)3][Si2W22Cu2O78(H2O)].approximately 18 H2O (A=NH4+ (1), Rb+ (2); ac=acetate; phen=1,10-phenanthroline). These compounds are constructed from inorganic and metalorganic interpenetrated sublattices containing the novel bimolecular Keggin POM, [Si2W22Cu2O78(H2O)]12-, and Cu-ac-phen complexes, [Cu(ac)(phen)(H2O)]n n+ (n=2, 3). The packing of compound 1 can be viewed as a stacking of open-framework layers parallel to the xy plane built of hydrogen-bonded POMs, and zigzag columns of pi-stacked Cu-ac-phen complex cations running along the [111] direction. Magnetic and EPR results are discussed with respect to the crystal structure of the compounds. DFT calculations on [Cu(ac)(phen)(H2O)]n n+ cationic complexes have been performed, to check the influence of packing in the complex geometry and determine the magnetic exchange pathways.  相似文献

The trinuclear manganese complex [Mn(3)O(4)(phen)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(4).2.5H(2)O, 1 (where, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), has been synthesized by the Ce(IV) oxidation of a concentrated solution of manganese(II) acetate and phen in 1.6 N nitric acid. The complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group P&onemacr; with a = 10.700(2) ?, b = 12.643(3) ?, c = 20.509(4) ?, alpha = 78.37(3) degrees, beta = 83.12(3) degrees, gamma = 82.50(3) degrees, and Z = 2. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by least-squares techniques to the conventional R (R(w)) factors of 0.055 (0.076) based on 4609 unique reflections with F(o) >/= 6.0sigma(F(o)). The structure of the cation consists of an oxo-bridged Mn(3)O(4)(4+) core, with the geometry of the manganese atoms being octahedral. The coordination polyhedron of one of the manganese atoms (Mn(1)) consists of two &mgr; oxo ligands and two pairs of nitrogen atoms of two phen moieties, whereas that of each of the remaining two manganese atoms consists of three &mgr;-oxo ligands, two nitrogen atoms of a phen moiety, and the oxygen atom of a water molecule. The complex represents the second example for water coordination to manganese(IV) centers in complexes with a Mn(3)O(4)(4+) core. Optical spectra in ligand buffer (pH 4.5) reveal complete conversion of the complex into a Mn(III)Mn(IV) species. The observed room-temperature (298 K) magnetic moment of 3.75 &mgr;(B) indicates the presence of strong antiferromagnetic coupling in the complex.  相似文献

Reactions between the Os(VI)-nitrido complexes, [OsVI(L2)(Cl)3(N)] (L2 = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) ([1]), 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (Me2bpy), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), and 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Ph2phen)), and bis-(triphenylphosphoranylidene)ammonium azide (PPNN3) in dry CH3CN at 60 degrees C under N2 give the corresponding Os(IV)-azidoimido complexes, [OsIV(L2)(Cl)3(NN3)]- (L2 = bpy = [2]-, L2 = Me2bpy = [3]-, L2 = phen = [4]-, and L2 = Ph2phen = [5]-) as their PPN+ salts. The formulation of the N42- ligand has been substantiated by 15N-labeling, IR, and 15N NMR measurements. Hydroxylation of [2]- at Nalpha with O<--NMe3.3H2O occurs to give the Os(IV)-azidohydroxoamido complex, [OsIV(bpy)(Cl)3(N(OH)N3)] ([6]), which, when deprotonated, undergoes dinitrogen elimination to give the Os(II)-dinitrogen oxide complex, [OsII(bpy)(Cl)3(N2O)]- ([7]-). They are the first well-characterized examples of each kind of complex for Os.  相似文献

Copper (II) complexes [Cu(dmit)(phen)]2 (1) and [Cu(mnt)(phen)] n (2) (mnt2??=?maleonitriledithiolate, dmit2??=?1,3-dithiole-2-thione-4,5-dithiolate, phen?=?1,10-phenanthroline) have been prepared by ligand-exchange between phen and [N(Bu)4]2[Cu(dmit)2] or [N(Bu)4]2[Cu(mnt)2]. Both complexes have been characterized by spectroscopic, electrochemical, and single-crystal X-ray analysis. In complex 1, dimers are extended into a two-dimensional array by weak S5–Cu contacts. In complex 2, monomers are extended into chains in a head-to-tail arrangement by weak Cu–S coordination bonds and ππ stacking interactions.  相似文献

A one-dimensional chain coordination polymer[Cu(phen)(2,4,6-TMBA)2(H2O)]n has been synthesized by reacting 2,4,6-trimethyl-benzoic acid,1,10-phenanthroline and Cu(Ⅱ)per-chlorate and its structure Was characterized.Crystal data for this complex:tetragonal, space group I41,a=2.0293(3),b=2.0293(3),c=113758(2)nm,a=β=γ=90°,V=5.6657(13)nm3,Dc=1.379g/cm3,Z=8,μ(MoKa)=0.815mm-1,Mr=588.14,F(000)=2456,S=1.047,R=0.0459 and wR=O.1053.The crystal structure shows that two neighboring Cu(Ⅱ)ions are linked together by one bridging-chelating 2,4,6-trimethyl-benzoic group, forming a one-dimensional chain structure. Each Cu(Ⅱ)ion is coordinated with two nitrogen atoms from one 1,10-phenanthroline molecule, three oxygen atoms from three 2,4,6-trimethyl-benzoic acid molecules and one oxygen atom from one water molecule, giving a six-coordinate distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The cyclic voltamrnetry behavior of the complex was also investigated.  相似文献

A series of new ternary zinc(II) complexes [Zn(L(1-10))(phen)], where phen is 1,10-phenanthroline and H(2)L(1-10)=tridentate Schiff base ligands derived from the condensation of amino acids (glycine, l-phenylalanine, l-valine, l-alanine, and l-leucine) and salicylaldehyde-5-sulfonates (sodium salicylaldehyde-5-sulfonate and sodium 3-methoxy-salicylaldehyde-5-sulfonate), have been synthesized. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-vis, (1)H NMR, and (13)C NMR spectra. The IR spectra of the complexes showed large differences between nu(as)(COO) and nu(s)(COO), Deltanu (nu(as)(COO)-nu(s)(COO)) of 191-225 cm(-1), indicating a monodentate coordination of the carboxylate group. Spectral data showed that in these ternary complexes the zinc atom is coordinated with the Schiff base ligand acts as a tridentate ONO moiety, coordinating to the metal through its phenolic oxygen, imine nitrogen, and carboxyl oxygen, and also with the neutral planar chelating ligand, 1,10-phenanthroline, coordinating through nitrogens.  相似文献

The reactions of the singly deprotonated di-2-pyridylmethanediol ligand (dpmdH(-)) with copper(II) and bismuth(III) have been investigated. A new dinuclear bismuth(III) complex Bi(2)(dpmdH)(2)(O(2)CCF(3))(4)(THF)(2), 1, has been obtained by the reaction of BiPh(3) with di-2-pyridyl ketone in the presence of HO(2)CCF(3) in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The reaction of Cu(OCH(3))(2) with di-2-pyridyl ketone, H(2)O, and acetic acid in a 1:2:2:2 ratio yielded a mononuclear complex Cu[(2-Py)(2)CO(OH)](2)(HO(2)CCH(3))(2), 2, while the reaction of Cu(OAC)(2)(H(2)O) with di-2-pyridyl ketone and acetic acid in a 2:1:1 ratio yielded a tetranuclear complex Cu(4)[(2-Py)(2)CO(OH)](2)(O(2)CCH(3))(6)(H(2)O)(2), 3. The structures of these complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Three different bonding modes of the dpmdH(-) ligand were observed in compounds 1-3. In 2, the dpmdH(-) ligand functions as a tridentate chelate to the copper center and forms a hydrogen bond between the OH group and the noncoordinating HO(2)CCH(3) molecule. In 1 and 3, the dpmdH(-) ligand functions as a bridging ligand to two metal centers through the oxygen atom. The two pyridyl groups of the dpmdH(-) ligand are bound to one bismuth(III) center in 1, while in 3 they are bound two copper(II) centers, respectively. Compound 3 has an unusual one dimensional hydrogen bonded extended structure. The intramolecular magnetic interaction in 3 has been found to be dominated by ferromagnetism. Crystal data: 1, C(38)H(34)N(4)O(14)F(12)Bi(2), triclinic P&onemacr;, a = 11.764(3) ?, b = 11.949(3) ?, c = 9.737(1) ?, alpha =101.36(2) degrees, beta = 105.64(2) degrees, gamma = 63.79(2) degrees, Z = 1; 2, C(26)H(26)N(4)O(8)Cu/CH(2)Cl(2), monoclinic C2/c, a = 25.51(3) ?, b = 7.861(7) ?, c = 16.24(2) ?, beta = 113.08(9) degrees, Z = 4; 3, C(34)H(40)N(4)O(18)Cu(4)/CH(2)Cl(2), triclinic P&onemacr;, a = 10.494(2) ?, b = 13.885(2) ?, c = 7.900(4) ?, alpha =106.52(2) degrees, beta = 90.85(3) degrees, gamma = 94.12(1) degrees, Z = 1.  相似文献

Two mixed-ligand Cu(II) complexes, [CuL1(Himdz] · CH3OH (1) and [CuL2(phen)] · 0.5DMF (2), with different structures have been synthesized by using substituted aroylhydrazones, 5-bromo-salicylaldehyde-benzoylhydrazone (H2L1) and 5-bromo-salicylaldehyde-3,5-dimethoxy-benzoylhydrazone (H2L2), and mono/bidentate heterocycles, imidazole (Himdz) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen). Their crystal structures and spectroscopic properties have been studied. X-ray analysis show a distorted square-planar geometry for 1 and a distorted square-pyramidal geometry for 2, in which the chelating phen ligand displays axial-equatorial bonding. In both structures the ONO tridentate ligand occupies the basal plane. Self-assembly via O–H ··· N, N–H ··· O and C–H ··· O interactions lead to one-dimensional chain arrangement in 1 and 2.  相似文献

Photochemical and photophysical data are reported for a series of fac-[Mn(CO)(3)(phen)(Im-R)](SO(3)CF(3)) complexes, where phen is 1,10-phenanthroline and Im is imidazole. Intraligand and metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) transitions are observed in the electronic absorption spectra of these complexes and are sensitive to the nature of the ligand substituent. At room temperature the emission spectra show a clear progression from broad structureless MLCT to highly structured pi-pi* emission on going from R = -H, -CH(3), -C(6)H(5), to -Metro, where Metro is 2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole. Even at low temperatures the latter complexes show only the pi-pi* emission. The trend in the photophysical properties found in the emission spectra parallels the changes in the photochemical properties with the electron-donating or electron-withdrawing power of the substituent on the imidazole ligand. Although MLCT irradiation of the complexes with R = -H, -CH(3) leads to the mer-[Mn(CO)(3)(phen)(Im-R)](+) isomers, the complexes with the imidazole ligand substituted by -C(6)H(5) or -Metro release the Im-R ligand and produce the stereoretentive fac-[Mn(CO)(3)(phen)(S)](+) complexes. The stereochemical fate and mechanistic implications of the photolysis reactions are discussed in terms of the nature of ligand substitution.  相似文献

The complexes [Cu(phen)(3)](ClO(4))(2) 1, [Cu(5,6-dmp)(3)](ClO(4))(2) 2, [Cu(dpq)(3)](ClO(4))(2) 3, [Zn(phen)(3)](ClO(4))(2) 4, [Zn(5,6-dmp)(3)](ClO(4))(2) 5 and [Zn(dpq)(3)](ClO(4))(2) 6, where phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, 5,6-dmp = 5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline and dpq = dipyrido[3,2-d:2',3'-f]quinoxaline, have been isolated, characterized and their interaction with calf thymus DNA studied by using a host of physical methods. The X-ray crystal structures of rac-[Cu(5,6-dmp)(3)](ClO(4))(2) and rac-[Zn(5,6-dmp)(3)](ClO(4))(2) have been determined. While 2 possesses a regular elongated octahedral coordination geometry (REO), 5 possesses a distorted octahedral geometry. Absorption spectral titrations of the Cu(II) complexes with CT DNA reveal that the red-shift (12 nm) and DNA binding affinity of 3 (K(b), 7.5 x 10(4) M(-1)) are higher than those of 1 (red-shift, 6 nm; K(b), 9.6 x 10(3) M(-1)) indicating that the partial insertion of the extended phen ring of dpq ligand in between the DNA base pairs is deeper than that of phen ring. Also, 2 with a fluxional Cu(II) geometry interacts with DNA (K(b), 3.8 x 10(4) M(-1)) more strongly than 1 suggesting that the hydrophobic forces of interaction of 5,6 methyl groups on the phen ring is more pronounced than the partial intercalation of phen ring in the latter with a static geometry. The DNA binding affinity of 1 is lower than that of its Zn(ii) analogue 4, and, interestingly, the DNA binding affinity 2 of with a fluxional geometry is higher than that of its Zn(II) analogue 5 with a spherical geometry. It is remarkable that upon binding to DNA 3 shows an increase in viscosity higher than that the intercalator EthBr does, which is consistent with the above DNA binding affinities. The CD spectra show only one induced CD band on the characteristic positive band of CT DNA upon interaction with the phen (1,4) and dpq (3,6) complexes. In contrast, the 5,6-dmp complexes 2 and 5 bound to CT DNA show exciton-coupled biphasic CD signals with 2 showing CD signals more intense than 5. The Delta-enantiomer of rac-[Cu(5,6-dmp)(3)](2+) 2 binds specifically to the right-handed B-form of CT DNA at lower ionic strength (0.05 M NaCl) while the Lambda-enantiomer binds specifically to the left-handed Z-form of CT DNA generated by treating the B-form with 5 M NaCl. The complex 2 is stabilized in the higher oxidation state of Cu(II) more than its phen analogue 1 upon binding to DNA suggesting the involvement of electrostatic forces in DNA interaction of the former. In contrast, 3 bound to DNA is stabilized as Cu(I) rather than the Cu(II) oxidation state due to partial intercalative interaction of the dpq ligand. The efficiencies of the complexes to oxidatively cleave pUC19 DNA vary in the order, 3> 1 > 2 with 3 effecting 100% cleavage even at 10 microM complex concentration. However, interestingly, this order is reversed when the DNA cleavage is performed using H(2)O(2) as an activator and the highest cleavage efficiency of 2 is ascribed to its electrostatic interaction with the exterior phosphates of DNA.  相似文献

A new polypyridyl ligand tbtc (tbtc=4,5,9,14-tetraaza-benzo[b]triphenylene-11-carboxylic acid methyl ester) and its complexes [Ru(phen)2(tbtc)]2+ (1) (phen=1,10-phenanthroline) and [Ru(2,9-dmp)2(tbtc)]2+ (2) (2,9-dmp=2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) were synthesized and characterized by element analysis, MS, and 1H NMR. The DNA binding properties of both complexes to calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) were investigated by different spectrophotometric methods and viscosity measurements. The results suggest that both complexes bind to DNA via an intercalative mode, and the DNA binding affinity of complex 1 is much greater than that of complex 2. This difference in binding affinity probably was caused by the different ancillary ligands. Also, when irradiated at 365 nm, complex 1 was found to be a more-effective DNA-cleaving agent than complex 2.  相似文献

A novel metal-organic complex Cu(p-FBA)2(phen)(H2O) (p-FBA = p-fluorobenzoic acid,phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) has been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction,elemental analysis and IR spectra. The crystal belongs to triclinic,space group P1 with a = 7.8043(7),b = 10.4069(9),c = 14.3658(13) ,α = 105.3170(10),β = 96.877(2),γ = 96.7580(10)o,V = 1103.56(17) 3,Mr = 539.96,Z = 2,Dc = 1.625 g/cm3,μ = 1.050 mm-1,F(000) = 550,the final R = 0.0324 and wR = 0.0952. In the crystal,the structure consists of discrete molecules containing a five-coordinate copper(Ⅱ ) in a distorted square pyramidal configuration. Intramolecular O-H···O hydrogen bonds,weak intermolecular C-H···O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking link the molecules into a one-dimensional chain structure. The study on the title complex has been performed with quantum chemistry calculation by means of G03W package on the Lanl2dz basis set. The stabilities of the complex together with the orbital energies and composition characteristics of some frontier molecular orbitals have been investigated.  相似文献

A series of mixed-ligand complexes [Cu(qui)(L)]NO(3)·xH(2)O (1-6), where Hqui = 2-phenyl-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-quinolinone, L = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) (1), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) (2), bis(2-pyridyl)amine (ambpy) (3), 5-methyl-1,10-phenanthroline (mphen) (4), 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline (nphen) (5) and bathophenanthroline (bphen) (6), have been synthesized and fully characterized. The X-ray structures of [Cu(qui)(phen)]NO(3)·H(2)O (2) and [Cu(qui)(ambpy)]NO(3) (3a) show a slightly distorted square-planar geometry in the vicinity of the central copper(II) atom. An in vitro cytotoxicity study of the complexes found significant activity against human osteosarcoma (HOS) and human breast adenocarcinoma (MCF7) cell lines, with the best results for complex 6, where IC(50) equals to 2.1 ± 0.2 μM, and 2.2 ± 0.4 μM, respectively. The strong interactions of the complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) and high ability to cleave pUC19 DNA plasmid were found. A correlation has been found between the in vitro cytotoxicity and DNA cleavage studies of the complexes.  相似文献

Three ligands, 2-(3-(carboxymethyl)-1,10-phenanthroline-[5,6-d]imidazole-1-yl)acetate (CPIA), 2-(benzo[d][1,3]dioxol-4-yl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline (BIP), and 2-(9H-carbazol-3-yl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline (CIP), and their complexes, [Co(phen)2(CPIA)]3+ (1) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), [Co(phen)2(BIP)]3+ (2), and [Co(phen)2(CIP)]3+ (3), have been synthesized and characterized. Binding of the three complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) has been investigated by spectroscopic methods, cyclic voltammetry, and viscosity measurements. The three complexes bind to DNA through an intercalative mode, and the size and shape of the intercalative ligands have significant effects on the binding affinity of complexes to CT-DNA.  相似文献

Comparisons of the spectroscopic properties of a number of Ru(III) complexes of imidazole ligands provide methods of distinguishing between various types of bonding that can occur in proteins and nucleic acids. In particular, EPR and (1)H NMR parameters arising from the paramagnetism of Ru(III) should aid in determining binding sites of Ru(III) drugs in macromolecules. Electrochemical studies on several imidazole complexes of ruthenium suggest that imidazole may serve as a significant pi-acceptor ligand in the presence of anionic ligands. Crystal structures are reported on two active immunosuppressant complexes. cis-[(Im)(2)(NH(3))(4)Ru(III)]Br(3) crystallizes in the triclinic space group P&onemacr; (No. 2) with the cell parameters a = 8.961(2) ?, b = 12.677(3) ?, c = 7.630(2) ?, alpha = 98.03(2) degrees, beta = 100.68(2) degrees, gamma = 81.59(2) degrees, and Z = 2 (R = 0.044). [(1MeIm)(6)Ru(II)]Cl(2).2H(2)O crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n (No. 14) with the cell parameters a = 7.994(2) ?, b = 13.173(4) ?, c = 14.904(2) ?, beta = 97.89(1) degrees, and Z = 2 (R = 0.052). The average Ru(II)-N bond distance is 2.106(8) ?.  相似文献
