Within the framework of the third-order approximation of the nonlinear wave dispersion theory, we find new classes of short scalar and vector solitons of lengths about several wavelengths. Short scalar solitons are found within the framework of a third-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NSE-3) including both the nonlinear dispersion terms and the third-order linear dispersion term. The interaction of such solitons is studied, and the soliton stability is proved. Short vector solitons are found within the framework of a coupled third-order nonlinear Schröodinger equation (CNSE-3). Interaction and stability of such solitons are studied.  相似文献

We find a class of short vector soliton solutions of the coupled third-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation (CNSE-3) and analyze the stability of such solitons in the adiabatic approximation. The analytical results are confirmed by numerical simulations of the dynamics of perturbed short vector solitons corresponding to the CNSE-3.  相似文献

We analyze a new class of soliton solutions for a wave field, which describes propagation of soliton-like structures of a circularly polarized electromagnetic field comprising a finite number of field-oscillation periods in a transparent nonresonant medium. The considered solutions feature a smooth transition from the soliton solutions of Schröodinger type, which correspond to long pulses with a large number of field oscillations, to extremely short, virtually single-cycle video pulses. We show that such solutions can also be important for linearly polarized laser fields. The structural stability of few-optical-cycle solitons is demonstrated numerically, including the case of their collision. Based on stability analysis and with allowance for the genealogic relation between the obtained wave solitons and the solitons of the nonlinear Schröodinger equation, we argue that the former solitons can play the same fundamental role in the nonlinear dynamics of the considered wave fields. In particular, it is shown by numerical simulations that the few-optical-cycle solutions turn out to be the basic elementary components of such a dynamical process as the temporal compression of an initially long pulse to a pulse of very short duration. In this case, the minimum duration of a compressed pulse is determined by soliton structures of about minimal duration.  相似文献

We perform langevin dynamics simulation for envelope solitons in an FPU-β lattice, with the nearest- neighbor interaction and quartic anharmonicity. We get the motion equations of our discrete system by adding noise and damping to the set of deterministic motion equations. We define "half-time" as the time when the amplitude of the envelope soliton decreases by half due to damping. And then the mass, center and half-time of the perturbed envelope soliton are numerically simulated, beginning with the discrete envelope soliton at rest. Results show successfully how noise affects behavior of the envelope soliton.  相似文献

基于双光子光折变介质中空间孤子的统一理论,采用数值模拟的方法,比较了双光子光伏光折变介质中开路光伏空间孤子、短路光伏空间孤子和闭路光伏空间孤子的特性.结果表明:双光子光伏光折变介质中,闭路暗光伏孤子所需非线性要比开路暗光伏孤子所需非线性小,同时暗光伏空间孤子的半峰全宽随着负载电阻的增加而加宽;亮光伏空间孤子的形态与负载电阻基本无关.  相似文献

The nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NNLSE) describes the propagation dynamics of optical beams in nonlinear media with a spatial nonlocal response. Based on NNLSE, we obtain the generalized sine hollow solitons and breathers and show that the transverse intensity evolutions of them are always periodical. However, if the incident power takes a critical value, the beam width can remain invariant during the propagation, just like the solitons. Otherwise, the beam width varies periodically, just like the breathers. We investigate the evolution characteristics for both cases analytically and numerically in detail.  相似文献

研究了在强非局域情况下,非局域非线性介质中多个(大于两个)空间孤子相互作用的特点与规律。以Snyder-Mitchell线性模型为理论基础并利用线性叠加原理来构建解。另外,还采用了将孤子作为粒子处理的方法。主要考虑空间斜对称入射的三、四束光的相互作用,从而得出多个空间孤子相互作用的规律。还得出了(1 2)维多孤子相互作用的精确解析解,并且利用解析解画出了多孤子传输过程中的光强分布图。根据解析解发现,多孤子能形成稳定的束缚态向前传输,缠绕与否与初始入射方向有关;作用过程中并无能量转移,且相互作用与初始相位无关。将孤子作为粒子处理得到的孤子相互作用的规律与解析解得出的规律一致。  相似文献

本文从一维强非局域非线性模型出发,推导出非相干光满足的非线性薛定谔方程.按照相干密度描述方法,写出非相干光的描述方式,求出了非相干光孤子的形成条件和孤子形式,还得到了相干光和非相干光在强非局域非线性介质中形成孤子的临界功率,结果说明非相干光形成孤子时,需要更高的能量.当非相干光孤子的条件不满足时,非相干光束以呈现振荡行为.空间振荡周期仅与介质、入射的非相干光的光功率有关,而与光源的非相干角功率谱宽度及具体组分无关.同时,我们还数值模拟了这种非相干光束的振荡行为和单一组分、一对组分的非相干强度演化过程.  相似文献

研究了对数型非线性电介质中空间亮孤子,认为对数型电介质中可支持亮空间孤子,并对其束宽变化作了分析,指出其束宽变化与光源峰值功率成反比:当功率较低时,束宽随功率的增大而急剧减小,表现出良好的非线性效应;当功率不断增大时,束宽的减小趋势逐渐放慢直至停止,对数型材料呈现饱和特性。  相似文献

Collisions of spatial solitons occurring in the nonlinear Schroeinger equation with harmonic potential are studied, using conservation laws and the split-step Fourier method. We find an analytical solution for the separation distance between the spatial solitons in an inhomogeneous nonlinear medium when the light beam is self-trapped in the transverse dimension. In the self-focusing nonlinear media the spatial solitons can be transmitted stably, and the interaction between spatial solitons is enhanced due to the linear focusing effect (and also diminished for the linear defocusing effect). In the self-defocusing nonlinear media, in the absence of self-trapping or in the presence of linear self-defocusing, no transmission of stable spatial solitons is possible. However, in such media the linear focusing effect can be exactly compensated, and the spatial solitons can propagate through.  相似文献

The existence of a new class of double humped grey and dark solitons in a Kerr nonlinear medium has been predicted in this paper. Following well known variational procedure, the dynamics of the propagating soliton has been converted to a Hamiltonian formulation. A set of ordinary differential equations is then derived, which was subsequently examined to predict the existence of double humped grey and dark solitons. Linear stability analysis, numerical appreciation and phase plane dynamics show that these solitons are stable.  相似文献

By using the standard symmetry reduction method,the gray/dark solitons and periodic waves(gray/dark soliton lattice) are analytically studied for the nonlinear optical media with periodic nonlocal response.It is found that there are two critical points for the quantity β=ω_m~2/ω_0~2,the multiplication of the square of the wave number(1/ω_0)and the strength(w_m~2) of the nonlocality both for the soliton and periodic solutions.The soliton solution exists only for β≤ 1/4 and the soliton is a double well gray soliton for β 1/8 while it is a single well gray soliton for β≤ 1/8.The soliton is dark only for β=1/4,otherwise it is a gray soliton.Similar critical points exist for the gray/dark soliton lattice solutions.  相似文献

运用变分法,对任意实对称响应函数泰勒级数展开取至二阶,得到了1 1维强非局域非线性介质中光束传输的超高斯光束的近似分析解,提出了超高斯空间光孤子族模型。分析结果表明:束宽解是三角函数型,相移、空间啁啾以及临界输入功率都正比于超高斯光束的阶数,束宽振荡周期不仅与介质材料有关,而且还与光束和相位因子的阶有关。提出了准方波形空间光孤子的可能性。  相似文献

利用强非局域非线性介质中傍轴光束传输的修正Snyder-Mitchell模型讨论了两束共线(即光束中心和传输方向都相同)拉盖尔-高斯型光孤子(CLGS)构成的涡旋光孤子传输过程。在一定条件下,涡旋光束在传输过程中,光束截面光斑发生旋转现象,但光束的束宽保持不变,称之为旋转涡旋光孤子。涡旋光孤子旋转的现象可以通过叠加光场中的古依相位来解释。结果展现了几个旋转涡旋光孤子在传输过程中的旋转现象和强非局域介质中多环形旋转涡旋光孤子的传输。  相似文献
