We give a characterization of the Lie algebras of H-type independent of the inner product used in the definition. We classify the real 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras with 2-dimensional center. Using these results we give examples of regular Lie algebras that are not H-type.  相似文献

Résumé.  We present all real solvable algebraically rigid Lie algebras of dimension lower or equal than eight. We point out the differences that distinguish the real and complex classification of solvable rigid Lie algebras.  相似文献

The Lie algebra of Cartan type H which occurs as a subalgebra of the Lie algebra of derivations of the polynomial algebra was generalized by the first author to a class which included a subalgebra of the derivations of the Laurent polynomials . We show in this paper that these generalizations of Cartan type H algebras are isomorphic to certain generalizations of the classical algebra of Poisson brackets, and that it can be generalized further. In turn, these algebras can be recast in a form that is an adaption of a class of Lie algebras of characteristic p that was defined in 1958 be R. Block. A further generalization of these algebras is the main topic of this paper. We show when these algebras are simple, find their derivations, and determine all possible isomorphisms between two of these algebras. In this paper we essentially classify all locally finite Lie algebras with an involution and a compatible root decomposition which permit a faithful unitary highest weight representation. It turns out that these Lie algebras have many interesting relations to geometric structures such as infinite-dimensional bounded symmetric domains and coadjoint orbits of Banach–Lie groups which are strong K?hler manifolds. In the present paper we concentrate on the algebraic structure of these Lie algebras, such as the Levi decomposition, the structure of the almost reductive and locally nilpotent part, and the structure of the representation of the almost reductive algebra on the locally nilpotent ideal. We define a polycyclic restricted Lie algebra to be the Lie analog of a polycyclic group, and we describe the structure of poly(cyclic or finite-dimensional) restricted Lie algebras. In particular, we prove that these are precisely the restricted Lie algebras whose restricted enveloping algebras have polynomial growth.

Lie algebras graded by finite irreducible reduced root systems have been classified up to central extensions by Berman and Moody, Benkart and Zelmanov, and Neher. In this paper we determine the central extensions of these Lie algebras and hence describe them completely up to isomorphism. Received: 22 May 1997 / in final form: 13 January 1999  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce two new families of infinite-dimensional simple Lie algebras and a new family of infinite-dimensional simple Lie superalgebras. These algebras can be viewed as generalizations of the Block algebras. Received: 3 March 1999  相似文献

In this paper, the main objective is to compare the abelian subalgebras and ideals of maximal dimension for finite-dimensional supersolvable Lie algebras. We characterise the maximal abelian subalgebras of solvable Lie algebras and study solvable Lie algebras containing an abelian subalgebra of codimension 2. Finally, we prove that nilpotent Lie algebras with an abelian subalgebra of codimension 3 contain an abelian ideal with the same dimension, provided that the characteristic of the underlying field is not 2. Throughout the paper, we also give several examples to clarify some results.  相似文献

The quadratic dimension of a Lie algebra is defined as the dimension of the linear space spanned by all its invariant non-degenerate symmetric bilinear forms. We prove that a quadratic Lie algebra with quadratic dimension equal to 2 is a local Lie algebra, this is to say, it admits a unique maximal ideal. We describe local quadratic Lie algebras using the notion of double extension and characterize those with quadratic dimension equal to 2 by the study of the centroid of such Lie algebras. We also give some necessary or sufficient conditions for a Lie algebra to have quadratic dimension equal to 2. Examples of local Lie algebras with quadratic dimension larger than 2 are given.  相似文献

Inspired by recent activities on Whittaker modules over various (Lie) algebras, we describe a general framework for the study of Lie algebra modules locally finite over a subalgebra. As a special case, we obtain a very general set-up for the study of Whittaker modules, which includes, in particular, Lie algebras with triangular decomposition and simple Lie algebras of Cartan type. We describe some basic properties of Whittaker modules, including a block decomposition of the category of Whittaker modules and certain properties of simple Whittaker modules under some rather mild assumptions. We establish a connection between our general set-up and the general set-up of Harish-Chandra subalgebras in the sense of Drozd, Futorny and Ovsienko. For Lie algebras with triangular decomposition, we construct a family of simple Whittaker modules (roughly depending on the choice of a pair of weights in the dual of the Cartan subalgebra), describe their annihilators, and formulate several classification conjectures. In particular, we construct some new simple Whittaker modules for the Virasoro algebra. Finally, we construct a series of simple Whittaker modules for the Lie algebra of derivations of the polynomial algebra, and consider several finite-dimensional examples, where we study the category of Whittaker modules over solvable Lie algebras and their relation to Koszul algebras.  相似文献

We use the technique known as elimination to devise some new bases of the free Lie algebra which (like classical Hall bases) consist of Lie products of left normed basic Lie monomials. Our bases yield direct decompositions of the homogeneous components of the free Lie algebra with direct summands that are particularly easy to describe: they are tensor products of metabelian Lie powers. They also give rise to new filtrations and decompositions of free Lie algebras as modules for groups of graded algebra automorphisms. In particular, we obtain some new decompositions for free Lie algebras and free restricted Lie algebras over fields of positive characteristic.  相似文献

Lie-Yamaguti algebras (or generalized Lie triple systems) are binary-ternary algebras intimately related to reductive homogeneous spaces. The Lie-Yamaguti algebras which are irreducible as modules over their Lie inner derivation algebra are the algebraic counterpart of the isotropy irreducible homogeneous spaces. These systems will be shown to split into three disjoint types: adjoint type, non-simple type and generic type. The systems of the first two types will be classified and most of them will be shown to be related to a Generalized Tits Construction of Lie algebras.  相似文献

In his 1977 paper, V.G. Kac classified the finite-dimensional simple complex Lie superalgebras. After Kac’s paper, M. Scheunert initiated the study of a generalization of Lie superalgebras - the Lie color algebras. We construct some new families of simple Lie color algebras. Following the work of A. Berele and A. Regev and A.N. Sergeev, who studied the general linear and sq(n)-series superalgebra cases, and the work of G. Benkart, C. Lee Shader, and A. Ram, who studied the orthosymplectic cases, we examine the centralizer algebras of some classical Lie superalgebras and their Lie color algebra counterparts acting on tensor space and derive Schur-Weyl duality results for these algebras and their centralizers.  相似文献

Recently, Marcuson extended the classical construction of Tits systems in Steinberg groups to include the Kac-Moody Steinberg groups associated with the infinite dimensional versions of the great Lie algebras. If these Lie algebras and their Kac-Moody groups are viewed as limits of their finite dimensional counterparts, more direct methods may be employed. In fact, the Kac-Moody Chevalley groups of these Lie algebras are seen to be simple.  相似文献

Lie-Yamaguti algebras (or generalized Lie triple systems) are binary-ternary algebras intimately related to reductive homogeneous spaces. The Lie-Yamaguti algebras which are irreducible as modules over their inner derivation algebras are the algebraic counterparts of the isotropy irreducible homogeneous spaces. These systems splits into three disjoint types: adjoint type, non-simple type and generic type. The systems of the first two types were classified in a previous paper through a generalized Tits Construction of Lie algebras. In this paper, the Lie-Yamaguti algebras of generic type are classified by relating them to several other nonassociative algebraic systems: Lie and Jordan algebras and triple systems, Jordan pairs or Freudenthal triple systems.  相似文献

Triangulated categories and Kac-Moody algebras   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
By using the Ringel-Hall algebra approach, we find a Lie algebra arising in each triangulated category with T 2=1, where T is the translation functor. In particular, the generic form of the Lie algebras determined by the root categories, the 2-period orbit categories of the derived categories of finite dimensional hereditary associative algebras, gives a realization of all symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebras.
