AC impedance spectroscopy technique has been used to study electrical properties of Bi3.25La0.75Ti3O12 (BLT) ceramic. Complex impedance plots were fitted with three depressed semicircles, which are attributed to crystalline layer, plate boundary and grain boundary and all three were found to comprise of universal capacitance nature [C = C0w n−1]. Grain boundary resistance and capacitance evaluated from complex impedance plots have larger values than that of plate boundary and crystalline layer. The activation energies (E a) for DC-conductance in grain boundary, plate boundary and crystalline layer are 0.68 eV, 0.89 eV and 0.89 eV, respectively. Relaxation activation energies calculated from impedance plots showed similar values, 0.81 eV and 0.80 eV for crystalline layer and plate boundary, respectively. These activation energy values are found to be consistent with the E a value of oxygen vacancies in perovskite materials. A mechanism is offered to explain the generation of oxygen vacancies in BLT ceramic and its role in temperature dependence of DC-conductance study.   相似文献

In recent years a wide range of Aurivillius layered materials have been introduced. These novel materials are produced in many various forms such as fibers, thin films as well as bulk by using a number of processing routes. As advanced materials they are they have many interesting properties which include a number of useful electrical properties related to separated grain and grain boundary conductivity, impedance, activation energies, etc. In this paper these properties are described and discussed in detail. The electrical properties of the vanadium doped BaBi2Nb2O9 ceramic was measured over a wide range of temperatures by impedance spectroscopy (IS). The separated grain activation energy, calculated from Arrhenius characteristics at temperatures between room temperature and 600 °C, was 1 eV for 0 at.% of vanadium dopant and 1.2 eV for 10 at.%, whereas the activation energies in the grain boundary region were 0.97 and 1.15 eV, respectively. The obtained results suggest the significant role of vanadium dopant, causing ordering the crystalline structure.  相似文献

Li3V2(PO4)3 glass-ceramic nanocomposites, based on 37.5Li2O-25V2O5-37.5P2O5 mol% glass, were successfully prepared via heat treatment (HT) process. The structure and morphology were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). XRD patterns exhibit the formation of Li3V2(PO4)3 NASICON type with monoclinic structure. The grain sizes were found to be in the range 32–56 nm. The effect of grain size on the dynamics of Li+ ions in these glass-ceramic nanocomposites has been studied in the frequency range of 20 Hz–1 MHz and in the temperature range of 333–373 K and analyzed by using both the conductivity and modulus formalisms. The frequency exponent obtained from the power law decreases with the increase of temperature, suggesting a weaker correlation among the Li+ ions. Scaling of the conductivity spectra has also been performed in order to obtain insight into the relaxation mechanisms. The imaginary modulus spectra are broader than the Debye peak-width, but are asymmetric and distorted toward the high frequency region of the maxima. The electric modulus data have been fitted to the non-exponential Kohlrausch–Williams–Watts (KWW) function and the value of the stretched exponent β is fairly low, suggesting a higher ionic conductivity in the glass and its glass-ceramic nanocomposites. The advantages of these glass-ceramic nanocomposites as cathode materials in Li-ion batteries are shortened diffusion paths for Li+ ions/electrons and higher surface area of contact between cathode and electrolyte.  相似文献

Microstructures and impedance characteristics of chemical-solution-derived Bi3.15Nd0.85Ti3O12 thin films were studied as functions of temperature. A dielectric anomaly was found at around 450°C, corresponding to the paraelectric to ferroelectric transition. Via complex impedance studies, grain and grain boundary contributions to the impedance were separated. The resistance of grain and grain boundaries is found governed by the same kind of space charge with an activation energy around 1.1 eV, close to that of oxygen vacancies in perovskite ferroelectrics. The low temperature ac conductance of BNdT thin films shows a frequency dispersion, which can also be ascribed to space charges mainly due to oxygen vacancies. The results were compared with SrBi2Ta2O9 in terms of oxygen vacancy conductivity.  相似文献

The lead pyrophosphate, Pb2P2O7, compound was prepared by conventional solid-state reaction and identified by X-ray powder diffractometer. Pb2P2O7 has a triclinic structure whose electrical properties were studied using impedance spectroscopy technique. Both impedance and modulus analysis exhibit the grain and grain boundary contribution to the electrical response of the sample. The temperature dependence of the bulk and grain boundary conductivity were found to obey the Arrhenius law with activation energies E g = 0.66 eV and E gb = 0.67 eV, respectively. The scaling behavior of the imaginary part of the complex impedance suggests that the relaxation describes the same mechanism at various temperatures.  相似文献

Polycrystalline Li2WO4 was sintered at temperatures, 400, 450, 500, 550, 600, 650, and 700 °C. After sintering at each particular temperature, the Li2WO4 was cooled to room temperature. The X-ray diffraction pattern of Li2WO4 exhibits dominant peaks attributable to 7Li2WO4.4H2O (cubic) and Li2WO4 (hexagonal) and thus reveals the extent of hydration of the material. The composition varies on heating at several temperatures as shown by the presence of new peaks in the diffractogram. Thermogravimetric analysis is used to correlate respective structural and thermal properties in variation. The impedance spectra show the presence of a semicircle in the higher frequency regions and straight line behaviors at lower frequencies. SEM micrographs depict the image of sintered Li2WO4. Grain growth studies reveal the sensitiveness of grain toward temperature. The maximum grain size is observed to be ≈5.7 μm at 700 °C.  相似文献

The AC conductivity of the LiCaPO4 compound has been measured in the temperature range 634–755 K and the frequency range 300 Hz–5 MHz. The impedance data were fitted to an equivalent circuit consisting of series combination of grains, grains boundary, and electrode elements. Dielectric data were analyzed using complex electrical modulus M* at various temperatures. The modulus plots are characterized by the presence of two relaxation peaks thermally activated. The activation energies obtained from the analysis of M″ (0.90 eV) and conductivity data (0.94 eV) are very close, revealing an ionic hopping mechanism.  相似文献

The Rb3(HSeO4)2.5(H2PO4)0.5 compound was prepared and its thermal behavior and electric properties were investigated. The thermogravimetry (TGA) analysis and the differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) show the presence of a structural phase transition of the title compounds at 374 K which is confirmed by the variation of fp and σdc as a function of temperature. The complex impedance of the Rb3(HSeO4)2.5(H2PO4)0.5 compound has been investigated in the temperature range of 295–453 K and in the frequency range 209 Hz–1 MHz. The impedance plots show semicircle arcs at different temperatures, and an electrical equivalent circuit has been proposed to explain the impedance results. The circuits consist of the parallel combination of bulk resistance Rp and constant phase elements CPE1 in series with fractal capacity CPE2. The frequency dependence of the conductivity is interpreted in terms of Jonscher’s law. The conductivity dc follows the Arrhenius relation. The near value of activation energies obtained from the analysis of modulus, conductivity data, and circuit equivalent confirm that the transport is through the ion hopping mechanism, dominated by the motion of the H+ proton in the structure of the investigated materials.  相似文献

A lithium yttrium diphosphate LiYP2O7 was prepared by a solid-state reaction method. Rietveld refinement of the X-ray diffraction pattern suggests the formation of the single phase desired compound with monoclinic structure at room temperature. The infrared and Raman spectrum of this compound was interpreted on the basis of P2O7 4? vibrations. The AC conductivity was measured in the frequency range from 100 to 106 Hz and temperatures between 473 and 673 K using impedance spectroscopy technique. The obtained results were analyzed by fitting the experimental data to the equivalent circuit model. The Cole–Cole diagram determined complex impedance for different temperatures. The angular frequency dependence of the AC conductivity is found to obey Jonscher’s relation. The temperature dependence of σ AC could be described in terms of Arrhenius relation with two activation energies, 0.87 eV in region I and 1.36 eV in region II. The study of temperature variation of the exponent(s) reveals two conduction models: the AC conduction dependence upon temperature is governed by the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model in region I (T < 540 K) and non-overlapping small polaron tunneling (NSPT) model in region II (T > 540 K). The near value of activation energies obtained from the equivalent circuit and DC conductivity confirms that the transport is through ion hopping mechanism dominated by the motion of the Li+ ion in the structure of the investigated material.  相似文献

The Na2WO4 compound has been obtained by the conventional solid-state reaction and characterized by X -ay powder diffraction. The title material crystallizes in the cubic system with Fd-3m space group. The electrical properties of the compound have been studied using complex impedance spectroscopy in the frequency range 200 Hz–5 MHz and temperature range 586–679 K. Two semicircles are observed in impedance plot indicating the presence of two relaxation processes in the compound associated with the grain and grain boundary. The relaxation behavior of the grain and grain boundary of the Na2WO4 are also obtained from the analyzed electrical modulus data. AC conductivity measured follows the power-law dependence σAC~ωs typical for charge transport. Therefore, the experimental results are analyzed with various theoretical models. Temperature dependence of the power law exponent s strongly suggests that tunneling of large polarons is the dominant transport process. The mechanism of conduction is probably due from the displacements of the Na+ ion in the tunnel-type cavities along [111] direction.  相似文献

Complex impedance analysis of a valence-compensated perovskite ceramic oxide Na1/2Sm1/2TiO3, prepared by a mixed oxide (solid-state reaction) method, has been carried out. The formation of single-phase material was confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies, and it was found to be an orthorhombic phase at room temperature. In a scanning electron microscope, grains separated by well-defined boundaries are visible, which is in good agreement with that of impedance analysis. Alternating current impedance measurements were made over a wide temperature range (31–400 °C) in an air atmosphere. Complex impedance and modulus plots helped to separate out the contributions of grain and grain boundaries to the overall polarization or electrical behavior. The physical structure of the samples was visualized most prominently at higher temperatures (275 °C) from the Nyquist plots showing inter- and intragranular impedance present in the material. The frequency dependence of electrical data is also analyzed in the framework of the conductivity and modulus formalisms. The bulk resistance, evaluated from the impedance spectrum, was observed to decrease with rise in temperature, showing a typical negative temperature coefficient of resistance-type behavior like that of semiconductors. The modulus mechanism indicates the non-Debye type of conductivity relaxation in the materials, which is supported by the impedance data. A few compositions in the system Ba1???x La x SnO3 (x?=?0.00, 0.01, 0.05, and 0.10) have been synthesized via the solid state ceramic route. The synthesized powders have been characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transformation infrared, thermogravimetrical analysis, and differential thermal analysis techniques. The powder X-ray diffraction pattern of the samples confirms the formation of a single-phase solid solution only up to 0.50?≤?x. It was found that all the samples have a cubic crystal structure. The electrical properties of La-modified BaSnO3 were studied using ac impedance spectroscopy technique over a wide range of temperatures (50–650 °C) in the frequency range of 10 Hz–13 MHz. The complex impedance plots above 300 °C show that total impedance is due to the contributions of grain and grain boundaries. The resistance of these contributions has been determined. Variation of these resistances with temperature shows the presence of two different regions with different slopes. The nature of the variation of conductivity of the grain and grain boundaries is different in different regions. Based on the value of activation energy, it is proposed that conduction via hopping of doubly ionized oxygen vacancies (VO ??) is taking place in the temperature region of 300–450 °C, whereas in the temperature region of 450–650 °C, it is due to proton, i.e., OH? ions, hopping.  相似文献

LiSn2P3O12 with sodium (Na) super ionic conductor (NASICON)-type rhombohedral structure was successfully obtained at low sintering temperature, 600 °C via citric acid-assisted sol-gel method. However, when the sintering temperature increased to 650 °C, triclinic structure coexisted with the rhombohedral structure as confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. Conductivity–temperature dependence of all samples were studied using impedance spectroscopy in the temperature range 30 to 500 °C, and bulk, grain boundary and total conductivity increased as the temperature increased. The highest bulk conductivity found was 3.64?×?10?5 S/cm at 500 °C for LiSn2P3O12 sample sintered at 650 °C, and the lowest bulk activation energy at low temperature was 0.008 eV, showing that sintering temperature affect the conductivity value. The voltage stability window for LiSn2P3O12 sample sintered at 600 °C at ambient temperature was up to 4.4 V. These results indicated the suitability of the LiSn2P3O12 to be exploiting further for potential applications as solid electrolytes in electrochemical devices.  相似文献

The [N(CH3)4][N(C2H5)4]ZnCl4 compound has been synthesized by a solution-based chemical method. The X-ray diffraction study at room temperature revealed an orthorhombic system with P21212 space group. The complex impedance has been investigated in the temperature and frequency ranges 420–520 K and 200 Hz–5 MHz, respectively. The grain interior and grain boundary contribution to the electrical response in the material have been identified. Dielectric data were analyzed using the complex electrical modulus M * for the sample at various temperature. The modulus plots can be characterized by full width at half height or in terms of a non-exponential decay function ϕ(t) = exp[(−t/τ) β ]. The detailed conductivity study indicated that the electrical conduction in the material is a thermally activated process. The variation of the AC conductivity with frequency at different temperatures obeys the Almond and West universal law.  相似文献

Undoped SnO2 thin films have been deposited on amorphous glass substrates with different precursor solution volume (10, 15, 20 and 25 ml) using simple and cost-effective nebulized spray pyrolysis technique. The influence of precursor solution on structural, optical, photoluminescence and electrical properties had been studied. The X-ray diffraction spectra prove the polycrystalline nature of SnO2 with tetragonal structure. All the films show a preferred growth orientation along (110) diffraction plane. The average transmittance of SnO2 thin films varied between 82 and 75% in the visible as well as IR region. The band gap energy decreases from 3.74 to 3.64 eV corresponding to direct transitions with the precursor solution volume had increased from 10 to 20 ml and then increased as 3.72 eV for 25 ml. SEM pictures demonstrated polyhedrons like grains. EDX confirmed the existence of Sn and O elements in all the prepared SnO2 thin films. Photoluminescence spectra at room temperature revealed that the four emission bands in all the samples such as sharp dominant peak at 361 nm with shoulder peak at 377 nm (UV region), a broad and low intensity peak at 492 nm (blue region) and 519 nm (green region). The electrical parameters were examined by Hall effect measurements, which demonstrated that the film prepared at 20 ml precursor solution volume possess minimum resistivity 2.76?×?10?3 Ω-cm with activation energy 0.10 eV and maximum figure of merit 1.54?×?10?2 (Ω/sq)?1.  相似文献

Al-Mo codoped Li7La3Zr2O12 ceramics with fine grain were prepared by sol-gel method. The influences of Al-Mo codoping on the structure, microstructure, and conductivity of Li7La3Zr2O12 were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and impedance spectroscopy. The cubic phase Li7La3Zr2O12 has been stabilized by partial substitution of Al for Li and Mo for Zr. Li6.6-3yAlyLa3Zr1.8Mo0.2O12 (0?≤?y?≤?0.1) has been sintered at 1040–1060 °C for 3 h. The liquid sintering facilitated its densification. The relative density of the composition with x?=?0.075 was approximately 96.4%. Results indicated that the Al-Mo codoped LLZO synthesized by sol-gel method effectively lowered its sintering temperature, accelerated densification, and improved the ionic conductivity.  相似文献

The Li2BaP2O7 compound has been obtained by the conventional solid-state reaction and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. The title material crystallizes in the monoclinic system with C2/c space group. Electrical properties of the compound have been studied using complex impedance spectroscopy in the frequency range 200 Hz–5 MHz and temperature range 589–724 K. Temperature dependence of the DC conductivity and modulus was found to obey the Arrhenius law. The obtained values of activation energy are different which confirms that transport in the titled compound is not due to a simple hopping mechanism. Layered lithium-enriched nickel manganese oxides Li1.2Ni0.2Mn0.6O2 have been synthesized and coated by fast ionic conductor Li3VO4 with varying amounts (1, 3, and 5 wt%) in this paper. The effect of Li3VO4 on the physical and electrochemical properties of Li1.2Ni0.2Mn0.6O2 has been discussed through the characterizations of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), discharge, cyclic performance, rate capability, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The discharge capacity and coulomb efficiency of Li1.2Ni0.2Mn0.6O2 in the first cycle have been improved after Li3VO4 coating. And, the 3 wt% Li3VO4-coated Li1.2Ni0.2Mn0.6O2 shows the best discharge capacity (246.8 mAh g?1), capacity retention (97.3 % for 50 cycles), and rate capability (90.4 mAh g?1 at 10 C). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results show that the R ct of Li1.2Ni0.2Mn0.6O2 electrode decreases after Li3VO4 coating, which is due to high lithium ion diffusion coefficient of Li3VO4, is responsible for superior rate capability.  相似文献

Advanced Li-air battery architecture demands a high Li+ conductive solid electrolyte membrane that is electrochemically stable against metallic lithium and aqueous electrolyte. In this work, an investigation has been carried out on the microstructure, Li+ conduction behaviour and structural stability of Li7La3-x Y x Zr2O12 (x = 0.125, 0.25 and 0.50) prepared by conventional solid-state reaction technique. The phase analysis of Li7La3-x Y x Zr2O12 (x = 0.125, 0.25 and 0.50) sintered at 1200 °C by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and Raman confirms the formation of high Li+ conductive cubic phase (\( Ia\overline{3}d \)) lithium garnets. Among the investigated lithium garnets, Li7La2.75Y0.25Zr2O12 sintered at 1200 °C exhibits a maximized room temperature total (bulk + grain boundary) Li+ conductivity of 3.21 × 10?4 S cm?1 along with improved relative density of 96 %. The preliminary investigation on the structural stability of Li7La2.75Y0.25Zr2O12 in the solutions of 1 M LiCl, dist. H2O and 1 M LiOH at 30 °C/50 °C indicates that the Li7La2.75Y0.25Zr2O12 is relatively stable against 1 M LiCl and dist. H2O. Further electrochemical investigation is essential for practical application of Li7La2.75Y0.25Zr2O12 as protective solid electrolyte membrane in aqueous Li-air battery.  相似文献

The Na superionic conductor (NASICON) NaNbAlP3O12 compound was prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method. The formation of single-phase material was confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies, and it was found to be a hexagonal phase at room temperature. The electrical conductivity was measured in the frequency range from 200 Hz to 5 MHz and temperatures between 573 and 773 K using impedance spectroscopy technique. The obtained results were analyzed by fitting the experimental data to the equivalent circuit model. The analysis of Nyquist plots has revealed the contribution of three electrically active regions corresponding to the bulk mechanism, distribution of grain boundaries, and electrode processes. Besides, the frequency dependence of the conductivity is interpreted in terms of Jonscher’s law. Temperature dependence of the power law exponent s strongly suggests that the non-overlapping small polaron tunneling (NSPT) model is the dominant transport process. The variation of the imaginary part of the complex modulus as a function of angular frequency at several temperatures shows a double relaxation peak suggesting the presence of grains and grain boundaries in the sample. An analysis of the dielectric constants ε″ and loss tangent tan (δ) with frequency shows a distribution of relaxation times.  相似文献
