High energy sound is finding ever increasing applications in chemical engineering, for such processes as drying, dust separation, and atomization of solutions. We have measured spin diffusion coefficients of liquid 3He at a frequency of 920 kHz by pulsed NMR. By analyzing our data in the framework of the Leggett–Rice theory we got a spin diffusion coefficient and a Leggett–Rice parameter =λωτ simultaneously at each temperature. On approaching the superfluid transition the spin diffusion coefficients showed a deviation from predictions of the Fermi liquid theory. The deviation at low pressure was larger than that at high pressure. This anomaly may be due to the effects of fluctuations of superfluidity which were recently observed in the viscosity measurement of liquid 3He.  相似文献

Ultrasonic liquid automization was first described in 1927. Since then the subject has caught the imagination of both academics and industrialists. This paper describes the continuation of work started by Stamm on the ultrasonic automization of molten metals. In this work experiments were extended to atomization of metal melts with melting points up to 700°C and to frequencies up to 0.8MHz. The example of ultrasonic atomization is used to show that the mechanism of atomization is in accord with the surface wave theory.  相似文献

Intermolecular spectra are reported for acetonitrile and benzonitrile between –196 °C and 100–140 °C. Structural changes can be established from the integral intensity, peak frequencies, and effective molecular vibration frequencies. There is a polymorphic transition in crystalline acetonitrile between –50 and –60 °C, while there is a change in the structure of liquid benzonitrile in the range 0–10 °C. Single-phase polycrystalline samples of Bi1−xNdxFeO3 were prepared by standard solid state reaction method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of the powder samples were recorded and analyzed for the confirmation of crystal structure lattice parameters. Further, these samples were characterized by IR technique to identify and understand the aspect of bonding in the present samples. The dielectric measurements were carried out on the samples as a function of frequency in the range 100 Hz to 1 MHz at room temperature and also as a function of temperature in the range 300–750 K at certain fixed frequencies. The DC and AC electrical resistivity studies were carried out in order to understand conduction mechanism in the samples.  相似文献

Annihilation of antiprotons and protons at rest into neutral particles has been studied with the Crystal Barrel detector at LEAR. Annihilation frequencies are determined for final states containing π0, η, η′ and ω mesons using a liquid and a room temperature, 12 bar, gaseous hydrogen target. Including annihilation frequencies for production of neutral kaons from other experiments, the identified reactions for annihilation in liquid hydrogen add up to a branching fraction of (3.56±0.28)% per annihilation compared to the frequency of (3.50±0.30)% with which we observe the all-neutral decay modes inclusively. Since the exclusive final states are normalized to the Crystal Barrel measurement of the π0π0 branching ratio, the latter result is strongly supported by this present study.  相似文献

A 35Cl nuclear quadrupole resonance (35Cl-NQR) investigation of polycrystalline Ca(ClO3)2·2H2O is described. The 35Cl-NQR frequencies (νQ) for two resonance lines (νQ1 and νQ2), the spin lattice relaxation time (T1Q) for νQ2 only and the line width δνQ2 were measured in the temperature range 292–345 K, except for the frequency measured up to 455 K. The observed decrease in the resonance frequencies with increasing temperature permitted the determination of the frequencies of librations of the ClO3 ion about two axes perpendicular to the three-fold axis of the ion mainly responsible for this effect. The temperature dependence of the relaxation time T1Q proved the occurrence of water diffusion and hindered rotation of ClO3 ions. The activation energies of these two molecular motions were determined, and their effect on the electric field gradient at the site of a chlorine nucleus was discussed. Temperature measurements of the line width δνQ2 confirmed the conclusions drawn from the analysis of T1Q(T).  相似文献

Charge injection atomizers are energy efficient devices that can be used in order to promote the atomization of dielectric liquids, and a potential application of such devices is fine spray delivery in small internal combustion engines. The operation of a pulsed charge injection atomization system operating at practical engine frequencies under a high voltage pulse train has not been well recorded in the literature. This initial investigation defines the electrical and transient global atomization performance of a charge injection atomizer operating under a steady flow regime, but with a typical high voltage pulse train. Results show that voltage-current characteristics follow similar trends to that of a steady flow, steady voltage system, and observation of the data also reveals that output current waveforms depend on the input pulse train frequency. No degradation in charging efficiency was observed at higher frequencies, which suggests that a charge injection atomizer can operate efficiently at practical engine speeds. Photographs also confirmed the high voltage pulse train injects charge that produces sections of primary atomization on the continuous liquid jet.  相似文献

HearFones (HF) have been designed to enhance auditory feedback during phonation. This study investigated the effects of HF (1) on sound perceivable by the subject, (2) on voice quality in reading and singing, and (3) on voice production in speech and singing at the same pitch and sound level.

Test 1: Text reading was recorded with two identical microphones in the ears of a subject. One ear was covered with HF, and the other was free. Four subjects attended this test. Tests 2 and 3: A reading sample was recorded from 13 subjects and a song from 12 subjects without and with HF on. Test 4: Six females repeated [pa:p:a] in speaking and singing modes without and with HF on same pitch and sound level.

Long-term average spectra were made (Tests 1–3), and formant frequencies, fundamental frequency, and sound level were measured (Tests 2 and 3). Subglottic pressure was estimated from oral pressure in [p], and simultaneously electroglottography (EGG) was registered during voicing on [a:] (Test 4). Voice quality in speech and singing was evaluated by three professional voice trainers (Tests 2–4).

HF seemed to enhance sound perceivable at the whole range studied (0–8 kHz), with the greatest enhancement (up to ca 25 dB) being at 1–3 kHz and at 4–7 kHz. The subjects tended to decrease loudness with HF (when sound level was not being monitored). In more than half of the cases, voice quality was evaluated “less strained” and “better controlled” with HF. When pitch and loudness were constant, no clear differences were heard but closed quotient of the EGG signal was higher and the signal more skewed, suggesting a better glottal closure and/or diminished activity of the thyroarytenoid muscle.  相似文献

The dielectric constant of Sr0.75 Ba0.25 Nb2O6 and its dielectric loss have been measured from -20°C to +90°C at various frequencies in the range of 10 KHz– 10 MHz. The result show, that despite the low half-wave field distance product (E·l)λ/2, the use for light modulation purposes is limited because of the high value of tan σ.  相似文献

In order to explain experimental data of dielectric properties of water in the microwave region at temperature from 0 up to 90 °C and at frequencies from 9.5 to 75.4 GHz, we propose a new method. This method is based on normalizing all considered experimental data and presenting them in a sole Cole–Cole plot. The normalizing relation is derived with supposition that there exists a sole Debye dispersion region. As the result of this normalization, we present the data of various experimental groups made at various temperatures and frequencies, and, hence, we get the possibility to process at the same time various experimental data. The analysis carried out in wide frequency range from ωτ1 to ωτ≈10 showed that dielectric permittivity of water cannot be completely explained in the model of a sole Debye relaxation region. It was shown that it is enough to suppose two relaxation Debye regions. The processing of experimental data allowed us to determine the parameters of these regions.  相似文献

The surface tension, viscosity, and damping coefficient of surface waves on a liquid sample have been determined by observing the diffraction of an optical beam. To achieve high accuracy, a He-Ne laser having a high brightness and coherence was used as a light source. Experiments illustrating and verifying the techniques are described.Values of the surface tension for different samples have been measured with a standard deviation of less than ±0.6% for frequencies of the ripple motion ranging from 500 to 3 000 Hz over the temperature range 20–45°C. The viscosity and damping coefficient of water were measured for frequencies in the range 600–1500 Hz. The values obtained agree with those available from the literature.  相似文献

Shear impedance of the liquid eutectic mixture CH3NHCONH2–NH4SO3NH2 was studied in the temperature range 291.7–313.2 K by using ultrasonic shear waves in the frequency range 12–80 MHz. Ultrasonic technique allowed the determination of the real part of the complex mechanical impedance and of the complex rigidity modulus. The relaxation region was shifted towards higher frequency in comparison to the Maxwell model and was fitted by the modified BEL model.  相似文献

The a.c. conductivity behaviour in the 20–300 K temperature range has been investigated for (Ag2S)x(AgPO3)1−x and (Ag2SO4)x(AgPO3)1−x glasses at various salt contents (x). The temperature dependence at selected frequencies in the radioand micro-wave region displays several relaxational contributions which are indistinct in the frequency domain. The low temperature experimental data are discussed and a proposed ‘new universality’ has been examined.  相似文献

On the basis of propositions of the common fluctuation theory, peculiarities of small fluctuations in real physical systems with limited sizes are analyzed. It is established that small fluctuations should necessarily be divided into two types of fluctuations: “small” and “very small”. It is shown that the damping process of “small” fluctuations has relaxation character, while the damping process of “very small” fluctuations is of random character, i.e., it represents a random rectangular signal. The probability density of “very small” fluctuations is shown to be Gaussian. The agreement of the obtained results with experimental data acquired from semiconductor-based devices is analyzed. A relation between the generation–recombination noise and phonon number fluctuations in semiconductors is studied. On the basis of this consideration it is shown that the Schönfeld pulse spectrum preserves its well-known 1/f form only in the range of intermediate frequencies; at lower frequencies the spectrum gets saturated. An expression for the low-frequency limit of Schönfeld pulse 1/f law is obtained.  相似文献

Study of radioactive aerosols in the relocation zone and in the populated areas have been carried out for a number of years. The experiments on modelling resuspension were performed while conducting agricultural work. Nuclear track radiography and alpha spectrometry with radiochemical extraction of plutonium were used as analytical methods for the determination of the transuranium elements contents. The distributions of radioactive particles were obtained as to activity and sizes. Specific activity of “hot particles” increases with decreasing diameter. In aerosols selected at a distance of more than 10 km from the Chernobyl NPP pure fuel particles with sizes of more than 5 μm were not found. The activity of the finely dispersed fraction of aerosols, which is more dangerous when inhaled by the organism, is comparable with a total activity of large particles.  相似文献

The established technology for making evaporated thin film piezoelectric transducers has made the construction of delay lines at microwave frequencies possible. Thin films of CdS on sapphire delay media have been used to make c.w. and pulsed delay lines from 1–11GHz, with delays from 1–14μs operating at 77°K and 300°K. The performance of some of these lines is described. The parameters governing the choice of delay media, transducer material and electrode structure are discussed and the importance of careful electrical matching of transducer to generator is emphasised.  相似文献

Abstract  

The spray characteristics of rotary atomization for small gas turbines were investigated using a high-speed camera and Nd:YAG laser flash visualization. To analyze the breakup process of the liquid column and liquid film, spray visualization tests were performed under varied test conditions. Visualization was conducted at rotational speeds from 5,000 to 40,000 rpm and fuel flow rates from 15 to 90 kg/h. From the test results, we discovered that a varicose wave appeared on the surface of the liquid column at rotational speeds below 10,000 rpm. As the rotational speed increases, the column forms a liquid film via a dilatational wave and breaks up via a sinuous wave. Under a gradual increase in rotational speed, the breakup of the liquid column is observed, and the formation of a liquid film is ultimately observed. We conclude that liquid film formation is essential for high spray quality in rotary atomization systems.  相似文献

Sensitive dielectric measurements were performed in diluted substitutional impurity dipole systems (1017 – 1018 cm-3) in rubidium halides. Both, molecular OH- and monatomic Ag+ off-center dipole systems were studied at low frequencies (up to 100 KHz) and at temperatures between 1.5 and 300 K. A best fit to the experiment yields for all the above systems a constant dipole moment over a wide temperature range. Even for the shallow Ag+ off-center systems no indication for an off-center to on-center transition was found.  相似文献

Performance improvements of ultraviolet/infrared dual-band detectors   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Results are reported on dual-band detectors based on a GaN/AlGaN structure operating in both the ultraviolet–midinfrared (UV–MIR) and ultraviolet–farinfrared (UV–FIR) regions. The UV detection is due to an interband process, while the MIR/FIR detection is from free carrier absorption in the emitter/contact followed by internal photoemission over the barrier at the GaN/AlGaN interface. The UV detection, which was observed from 300 K to 4.2 K, has a threshold of 360 nm with a peak responsivity of 0.6 mA/W at 300 K. The detector shows a free carrier IR response in the 3–7 μm range up to 120 K, and an impurity response around 54 μm up to 30 K. A response in the range 7–13 μm, which is tentatively assigned to transitions from C impurities and N vacancies in the barrier region, was also observed. It should also be possible to develop a detector operating in the UV–visible–IR regions by choosing the appropriate material system. A dual-band detector design, which allows not only to measure the two components of the photocurrent generated by UV and IR radiation simultaneously but also to optimize the UV and IR responses independently, is proposed.  相似文献
