Three recently synthesized Schiff's bases were studied to characterize their ability as Cr3+ ion carrier in PVC‐membrane electrodes. The polymeric membrane (PME) and coated glassy carbon (CGCE) electrodes based on 2‐hydroxybenzaldehyde‐O,O′‐(1,2‐dioxetane‐1,2‐diyl) oxime (L1) exhibited Nernstian responses for Cr3+ ion over wide concentration ranges (1.5×10?6–8.0×10?3 M for PME and 4.0×10?7–3.0×10?3 M for CGCE) and very low limits of detection (1.0×10?6 M for PME and 2.0×10?7 M for CGCE). The proposed potentiometric sensors manifest advantages of relatively fast response and, most importantly, good selectivities relative to a wide variety of other cations. The selectivity behavior of the proposed Cr3+ ion‐selective electrodes revealed a considerable improvement compared to the best previously PVC‐membrane electrodes for chromium(III) ion. The potentiometric responses of the electrodes are independent of pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.0–6.0. The electrodes were successfully applied to determine chromium(III) in water samples.  相似文献

New polymeric membrane cadmium‐ion selective sensors have been prepared by incorporating nitrogen and sulfur containing tridentate ligands as the ionophores into the plasticized PVC membranes. Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) based membranes of potassium hydrotris[N‐(2,6‐xylyl)thioimdazolyl) borate] (KTt2,6‐xylyl) and potassium hydrotris(3‐phenyl‐5‐methylpyrazolyl) borate (KTpPh,Me) with sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) as an anionic excluder and dibutylphthalate (DBP), tributylphthalate (TBP), dioctylsebacate (DOS), and o‐nitrophenyloctyl ether (o‐NPOE) as plasticizing solvent mediators were investigated in different compositions. KTt2,6‐xylyl was found to be a selective and sensitive ion carrier for Cd(II) membrane sensor. A membrane composed of KTt2,6‐xylyl:NaTPB:PVC:DBP with the % mole ratio 2.3 : 1.1 : 34.8 : 61.8 (w/w) works well over a very wide concentration range (7.8×10?8–1.0×10?2 M) with a Nernstian slope of 29.4±0.2 mV/decades of activity between pH values of 3.5 to 9.0 with a detection limit of 4.37×10?8 M. The sensor displays very good discrimination toward Cd(II) ions with regard to most common cations. The proposed sensor shows a short response time for whole concentration range (ca. 8 s). The effects of the cationic (tetrabutylammonium chloride, TBC), anionic (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) and nonionic (Triton X‐100) surfactants were investigated on the potentiometric properties of proposed cadmium‐selective sensor. The proposed sensor based on KTt2,6‐xylyl ionophore has also been used for the direct determination of cadmium ions in different water samples and human urine samples.  相似文献

Highly selective poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane electrodes based on recently synthesized mercury complexes including Hg(Nmpntb)2 and Hg(Npdntb)2 as new carriers for iodide‐selective electrodes by incorporating the membrane ingredients on the surface of graphite electrodes are reported. The effect of various parameters including the membrane composition, pH and possible interfering anions were investigated on the response properties of the electrodes. Both sensors exhibited Nernstian responses toward iodide over a wide concentration range of 7×10?7 to 0.1 M and 1×10?6 to 0.1 M, with slopes of 59.6±0.8 and 58.9±0.9 mV per decade of iodide concentration and detection limit of 3×10?7 M and 7×10?7 for Hg(Npdntb)2 and Hg(Nmpntb)2, respectively, over a wide pH range of 3–11. The sensors have response times of ≤5 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any considerable divergence in their potential response. The proposed electrodes show good ability to discriminate iodide over several inorganic and organic anions. The electrodes were successfully applied to direct determination of iodide in synthetic mixture, waste water and drinking water and as indicator electrodes in precipitation titrations.  相似文献

The simple PVC‐based membrane containing N,N′,N″,N′′′‐tetrakis(2‐pyridylmethyl)‐1,4,8,11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane (tpmc) as an ionophore and dibutyl phthalate as a plasticizer, directly coated on a glassy carbon electrode was examined as a new sensor for Cu2+ ions. The potential response was linear within the concentration range of 1.0×10?1–1.0×10?6 M with a Nernstian slope of 28.8 mV/decade and detection limit of 7.0×10?7 M. The electrode was used in aqueous solutions over a wide pH range (1.3–6). The sensor exhibited excellent selectivity for Cu2+ ion over a number of cations and was successfully used in its determination in real samples.  相似文献

Five recently synthesized macrocyclic diamides were investigated to characterize their ability as beryllium ion carriers in potentiometric PVC‐membrane electrodes. The electrodes based on 1,15‐diaza‐3,4;12,13‐dibenzo‐5,8,11‐trioxabicyclo[13,2,2] heptadecane‐2,14‐dione exhibited a Nernstian response for Be2+ ion over wide concentration ranges (from 3.0×10?6 to 3.0×10?2 M for polymeric membrane electrode, PME, and from 5.0×10?7 to 2.0×10?2 M for coated glassy carbon electrode, CGCE) and very low detection limits (2.0 ×10?6 M for PME and 4.0×10?7 M for (CGCE). The electrodes possess low resistances, fast responses, satisfactory reproducibilities and, most importantly, good selectivities relative to a variety of other common cations. The potentiometric response of the electrodes is independent of pH of test solution in the pH range of 4.0–7.5. The proposed sensors were used to determine beryllium ion in water samples.  相似文献

A highly selective PVC‐membrane electrode based on 2,6‐diphenylpyrylium fluoroborate is presented. The electrode reveals a Nernstian potentiometric response for sulfate ion over a wide concentration range (5.0 × 10?6‐1.0 × 10?1 M). The electrode has a response time of about 10 s and can be used for at least 2 months without any divergence. The proposed sensor revealed very good selectivities for sulfate over a wide variety of common organic and inorganic anions and could be used over a wide pH range (2.5–9.5). The detection limit of the sensor is 3.0 × 10?6 M. It was successfully applied to the direct determination of salbutamol, paramomycin tablets, and as an indicator electrode for potentiometric titration of sulfate ions with barium ions.  相似文献

A chloride ion‐selective electrode (ISE) membrane was developed by using a copolymeric ion‐exchanger resin (trimethyl ethenyl quaternary ammonium chloride polystyrene‐divinylbenzene copolymer resin, TMEQAC PSDVB), the ionophore ({μ‐[4,5‐Dimethyl‐3,6‐bis(dodecyloxy)‐1,2‐phenylene]}bis(mercury chloride), ETH9033), the plasticizer (bis(2‐ethylhexyl) sebacate, DOS), and the membrane substrate (polyvinylchloride, PVC). At 25 °C, the electrode exhibited an ideal Nernstian response of 59.2 mV/decade with the linear calibration concentration range from 1.0 × 10?4‐1.0 × 10?2 M (r2 = 0.9930). The limit of detection was 2.45 ppm (6.9 × 10?2 mM) and the measurement response time was less than 10 seconds. The working temperature range of electrode was 10‐45 °C. The working pH range for chloride ion measurement was 2.0‐11.0. Among the various anions examined in this work, only I?, SCN?, and MnO4? ions show significant interference to the electrode measurement. The chloride ISE can be used at least 72 days. The determination of chloride ion content in three kinds of environmental water sample with the electrode method was accurate (92‐95%) and precise (RSD < 4.4%) and did not show significance difference from the high‐performance liquid chromatography method.  相似文献

N‐(2‐Pyridyl)‐N′‐(4‐methoxyphenyl)‐thiourea (PMPT) was found to be a suitable neutral ion carrier for the construction of a highly selective and sensitive La(III) membrane sensor. Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) based membranes of PMPT with potassium tetrakis (p‐chlorophenyl) borate (KTpClPB) as an anionic excluder and oleic acid (OA), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl acetate (BA) and o‐nitrophenyloctyl ether (NPOE) as plasticizing solvent mediators were constructed and investigated as La(III) membrane sensors. A membrane composed of PMPT‐PVC‐KTpClPB‐BA with the ratio 8.0 : 35.0 : 3.0 : 54.0 works well over a very wide concentration range (4.0×10?8 to 1.0×10?1 M) with a Nernstian slope of 19.6±0.2 mV per decade of activity between pH values of 4.0 and 9.0. The detection limit of the sensor was calculated to be 2.0×10?8 M (ca. 3.0 ppb). The sensor displays very good discrimination toward La(III) ions with regard to most common metal ions and lanthanide ions. The proposed sensor shows a short response time for whole concentration range (ca. 12 s). For evaluation of the analytical applicability of the La(III) sensor, it was successfully used as an indicator electrode for the titration of La(III) ions with EDTA. It was also applied to the determination of fluoride content of two mouth wash preparation samples and monitoring of La(III) ions in some binary and ternary mixtures.  相似文献

Copper phthalocyanine was used as ion carrier for preparing polymeric membrane selective sensor for detection of iodide. The electrode was prepared by incorporating the ionophore into plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane, coated on the surface of graphite electrode. This novel electrode shows high selectivity for iodide with respect to many common inorganic and organic anions. The effects of membrane composition, pH and the influence of lipophilic cationic and anionic additives and also nature of plasticizer on the response characteristics of the electrode were investigated. A calibration plot with near‐Nernestian slope for iodide was observed over a wide linear range of five decades of concentration (5×10?6?1×10?1 M). The electrode has a fast response time, and micro‐molar detection limit (ca. 1×10?6 M iodide) and could be used over a wide pH range of 3.0–8.0. Application of the electrode to the potentiometric titration of iodide ion with silver nitrate is reported. This sensor is used for determination of the minute amounts of iodide in lake water samples.  相似文献

A series of amphiphilic graft copolymers consisting of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) main chains and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) side chains, i.e. PVC‐g‐PVP, was synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), as confirmed by 1H NMR, FT‐IR spectroscopy, and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). Transmission electron microscope (TEM) and small angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) analysis revealed the microphase‐separated structure of PVC‐g‐PVP and the domain spacing increased from 21.4 to 23.9 nm with increasing grafting degree. All the membranes exhibited completely amorphous structure and high Young's modulus and tensile strength, as revealed by wide angle X‐ray scattering (WAXS) and universal testing machine (UTM). Permeation experimental results using a CO2/N2 (50/50) mixture indicated that as an amount of PVP in a copolymer increased, CO2 permeability increased without the sacrifice of selectivity. For example, the CO2 permeability of PVC‐g‐PVP with 36 wt% of PVP at 35°C was about four times higher than that of the pristine PVC membrane. This improvement resulted from the increase of diffusivity due to the disruption of chain packing in PVC by the grafting of PVP, as confirmed by WAXS analysis. A new PVC membrane electrode for HSO3? anion based on bis‐urea calix[4]diquinones I–VI as neutral ionophores is prepared. Of the various membranes prepared, the membrane based on calix[4]diquinone III exhibits a linear stable response over a wide concentration range (6.0×10?5?1.0×10?2) with a slope of ?51.5 mV/decade and a detection limit of 2.2×10?6 M. With the exception of HSO3? anion, the remainder of the anions responds based on their hydrophobicity. The membrane revealed improved selectivity coefficients for HSO3? over a wide variety of other anions, and the comparable selectivity for the HSO3?selective membranes is iodide anion.  相似文献

Novel PVC membrane (PME) and coated graphite (CGE) Cu2+‐selective electrodes based on 5,6,7,8,9,10‐hexahydro‐2H‐1,13,4,7,10‐benzodioxatriazacyclopentadecine‐3,11(4H,12H)‐dione are prepared. The electrodes reveal a Nernstian behavior over wide Cu2+ ion concentration ranges (1.0×10?7–1.0×10?1 M for PME and 1.0×10?8–1.0×10?1 M for CGE) with very low limits of detection (7.8×10?8 M for PME and 9.1×10?9 M for CGE). The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solutions in the pH range 2.7–6.2. The proposed electrodes possess very good selectivities for Cu2+ over a wide variety of the cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transitions and heavy metal ions. The practical utility of the proposed electrodes have been demonstrated by their use in the study of interactions between copper ions and human growth hormone (hGH) in biological systems, potentiometric titration of copper with EDTA and determination of copper content of a sheep blood serum sample and some other real samples.  相似文献

An ion‐selective electrode using ionophore 2′‐picolyl sym‐dibenzo‐16‐crown‐5 ether as membrane carrier, sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) as an anion excluder, and 2‐nitrophenyl‐octyl ether (NOPE) as the plasticing solvent mediator has been successfully developed. This electrode exhibits al in ear response with a slope of 42 mV/decade in concentration ranging from 10?5 molL?1 to 10?1 molL?1, slightly larger than the 30 mV expected from the one‐to‐one complex. The reason for the super‐Nernstain slope is the partial dimmer formation in side the membrane of the electrode, because this dimmer [Cu(C25H27NO6)2(H2O)2] 2ClO4, has been isolated and confirmed by single crystal X‐ray crystallography. The detection limit for the cop per (II) ion was estimated to be 1 × 10?6 molL?1. Electrades composed of other plasticing solvent mediators such as tris(2‐ethylhexyl) phosphate (TOP), bis (2‐ethylhexyl) sebacate (DOS) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) were also investigated. Stability constants (logKs) of the two to one and the one to one 2‐picolylsym‐dibenzo‐16‐crown‐5 ether‐Cu (II) complexes have been determined by potentiometric titration in methanol.  相似文献

A novel membrane sensor for selective monitoring of iodide, consisting of a triiodide‐ketoconazole ion pair complex dispersed in a PVC matrix, plasticized with a mixture of 2‐nitrophenyl octyl ether and dioctylphtalate with unique selectivity toward iodide ions, is described. The influence of membrane composition, pH of test solution and foreign ions on the electrode performance were investigated. The optimized membrane demonstrates a near‐Nernstian response for iodide ions over a wide linear range from 1.0 × 10?2 to 1.0 × 10?5 M, at 25 ± 1 °C. The electrode could be used over a wide pH range 3–10 and has the advantages of high selectivity, fast response time and good lifetime (over 4 months). It was successfully used as indicator electrode in potentiometric titrations and direct potentiometric assay of iodide ions.  相似文献

Our studies are focused on the development of novel potentiometric sensors for the quantification of the neurotransmitter serotonin. Therefore, ion‐selective electrodes based on plasticized PVC membranes are applied. The electroactive part of the membrane consists of an ion pair complex formed between the protonated analyte and a carborane anion [Co(1,2‐C2B9H11)2]. The analytical performance of the electrode was studied regarding sensitivity, concentration range, limit of detection and potential stability. The ion‐selective electrodes were optimized with respect to the material of the transducing element, as well as the membrane thickness and its composition. Stable, all solid state ISEs could be developed, using the non‐polar plasticizer NPOE and a graphite rod with high surface area as transducing element. We thus achieved a near Nernstian response over three decades of concentration (2.25⋅10‐5‐1.00⋅10‐2 M) and a limit of detection in the μ‐molar range for the optimized electrodes. The electrodes could successfully be miniaturized using carbon based screen printed electrodes.  相似文献

The construction, performance, and applications of a novel ytterbium(III) sensor based on N‐(2‐pyridyl)‐N′‐(2‐methoxyphenyl)‐thiourea (PMT), as an excellent carrier, in plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) PVC matrix, is described. The influences of membrane composition and pH on the potentiometric response of the sensor were investigated. The sensor exhibits a nice Nernstian response for Yb(III) ion over a wide concentration range of 4 decades of concentration (1.0×10?6–1.0×10?2 M), and a detection limit of 5.0×10?7 M. The response time of the electrodes is between 8 and 10 s, depending on the concentration of ytterbium(III) ions. The proposed sensor can be used for about 8 weeks without any considerable divergence in potential. The sensor revealed very good selectivity for Yb(III) in the presence of several metal ions. The best performance was observed for the membrane containing; 30% PVC, 59% o‐nitrophenyloctyl ether (NPOE) as solvent mediator, 7% PMT, and 4% sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB). It was successfully applied as indicator electrodes in the potentiometric titration of Yb(III) with EDTA and for the determination of fluoride ion in two mouth wash formulations. The proposed La(III) sensor was found to work well under laboratory conditions. It was also used as an indicator electrode in titration of a 1.0×10?4 M of Yb(III) with a standard EDTA solution (1.0×10?2 M). It was also used for determination of Yb(III) ion in Xenotime .  相似文献

A new chromium(III) PVC membrane sensor incorporating ptertiary‐butyl calix[4]arene as ionophore, potassium tetrakis as additive and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as plasticizer was constructed. The electrode exhibited an excellent potentiometric response over a wide concentration range of 1.0×10?7–1.0×10?1 M with a Nernstian slope of 20±0.5 mV per decade. The detection limit was 5.0×10?8 M. The electrode showed a better performance over a pH range of 3.0–8.0, and had a short response time of about <15 s.The electrode was successfully applied to potentiometric titration of Cr (III) with EDTA and for direct determination of chromium(III) in waste water.  相似文献

Five bisbridged calix[6]crowns have been investigated as Cs+ ionophore in PVC membrane electrodes. As ionophores, three 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐4‐ethers( I–III ), 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐5‐ether( IV ), and 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐6‐ether( V ) have been evaluated. The membranes all give good Nernstian response in the concentration range from 1×10?7 to 1×10?1 M of cesium ion. The best detection limits (?log aequation/tex2gif-inf-1.gif=7.08–7.36) are obtained for electrode membranes containing 1,3‐bisbridged cofacial‐calix[6]crown‐4‐ethers( I‐III ), and the values are the lowest compared with those reported previously. The highest selectivity coefficients [ 3.74(Cs/K), 2.63(Cs/Rb)] are obtained for the membrane of 1,3‐bisbridged calix[6]crown‐4‐ether( II ), and these values are also the highest compared with previous reports for Cs+‐ISEs. The highest selectivity towards cesium ion is attributed to the geometrically cofacial positions of two crown‐ethers in calix[6]crowns in order to provide the complex of cesium ion and eight oxygens of cofacial crowns.  相似文献

A novel PVC membrane ion‐selective electrode based on tribenzyltin(IV) dithiocarbamate [Sn(IV)–TBDTB] as neutral carrier was developed for thiocyanate (SCN?) determination. The electrode exhibits a near‐Nernstian response for SCN? with a slope of 62.8±2.0 mV per decade over a wide concentration range 1.0×10?1–2.0×10?6 mol L?1 and a detection limit of 1.0×10?6 mol L?1 in MES–NaOH buffer, pH 6.0, at 25 °C. The electrode prepared with 1.5 wt.% Sn(IV)–TBDTB, 32.5 wt.% PVC and 66.0 wt.% 2‐nitrophenyloctyl ether (o‐NPOE) shows optimal response characteristics. Anti‐Hofmeister selectivity sequence for a series of anions shown by the electrode was as follows: SCN?>Sal?>I?>ClO >phCOO?>CH3COO?>Br?>Cl?>NO >NO >Citrate>SO42?. The useful pH range for the electrode was found to be 3–7 with a response time 30–40 s. The electrode has been used for direct determination of thiocyanate in wastewater with satisfactory results.  相似文献
