This paper studies the dynamics of intra-acceptor hole relaxation in Be δ -doped GaAs/AlAs multiple quantum wells (MQW) with doping at the centre by time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy using a picosecond free electron laser for infrared experiments. Low temperature far-infrared absorption measurements clearly show three principal absorption lines due to transitions of the Be acceptor from the ground state to the first three odd-parity excited states respectively. The pump-probe experiments are performed at different temperatures and different pump pulse wavelengths. The hole relaxation time from 2p excited state to 1s ground state in MQW is found to be much shorter than that in bulk GaAs, and shown to be independent of temperature but strongly dependent on wavelength. The zone-folded acoustic phonon emission and slower decay of the wavefunctions of impurity states are suggested to account for the reduction of the 2p excited state lifetime in MQW. The wavelength dependence of the 2p lifetime is attributed to the diffusion of the Be atom δ -layer in quantum wells.  相似文献

A Fokker-Planck study is carried out for tokamak electron cyclotron resonance heating by writing the quasi-linear diffusion operator into a form adaptive to the collision operator and considering the wave absorption characteristics of both the O-mode and the X-mode in different magnetic surfaces. Though the Fokker-Planck code is non-relativistic in nature, however, if the relativistic resonance condition for the nearly perpendicularly propagating waves is treated suitably, we can obtain correct results. The energy loss mechanism through anomalous transport is also modelled using a suitable loss term. In the heating phase, the electron distribution deviates from the Maxwellian distribution substantially, which leads to non-linear absorption characteristics. The wave damping rate is non-linear and changes with time. The electron pressure is usually anisotropic under different conditions: p_{e⊥}/p_{e‖}>2 for different D_0 and τ_e.  相似文献

The absorption spectra of Tb,Tm:YVO_4 and Ho,Tm:YVO_4 are measured. The radiant and non-radiant transition probabilities from higher level to lower level, A_{i,j} and ω_{i,j}, and the cross-elaxation probability are calculated in virtue of Judd-Ofelt and Dexter theories. The fluorescence lifetime of Tm^{3+} in the Tb^{3+} (or Ho^{3+}) co-doped crystal is calculated. It indicates that the lifetime of initial level {}^3H_4 of the laser transition can be shorter than that of terminal level {}^3F_4 of the transition if the atomic percentage of Tb^{3+} (or Ho^{3+}) ions is bigger than about 1 at%: namely, by means of the co-doping Tb^{3+} (or Ho^{3+}) ions the self-termination phenomenon of laser light can be eliminated. Inserting the optic parameters to the formula deduced here on the laser threshold power P^{(4)}_{th} and the slope efficiency η^{(4)}_s of the four-energy-level system, we obtain the relationship of threshold power P^{(4)}_{th} to the concentration of Tm^{3+} ions and discuss the effect of Tb^{3+} (or Ho^{3+}) ion concentration on the laser threshold power P^{(4)}_{th} around 1.5μm wavelength. The result shows that Tb,Tm:YVO_4 crystal is a better choice to make the laser at ~1.5μm wavelength than Ho,Tm:YVO_4 crystal. We give the appropriate composition of (1-2) at% Tb, (1-2) at% Tm:YVO_4, just for reference.  相似文献

本文采用fs脉冲饱和吸收光谱技术研究了室温下Si掺杂GaAs在电子激发态处于费密面附近时重空穴的超快弛豫特性。测量到重空穴的热化时间约为300fs,与理论计算结果一致,表明重空穴-光学声子散射是主要的热化途径,并得到光学形变势常数d0为31eV.  相似文献

The saturation level of the low-threshold parametric two-plasmon instability of the extraordinary pump wave decay to two upper hybrid plasmons is analyzed under conditions when the only efficient saturation mechanism is the pump depletion. A closed system of differential equations describing both the instability excitation and saturation is derived. The system is solved numerically and an analytic expression is obtained for the anomalous absorption coefficient of the pump wave caused by the development of this instability. The saturation level of the two-plasmon decay instability and the related anomalous absorption efficiency are estimated from data obtained in experiments on the electron cyclotron resonance heating of the plasma by an extraordinary wave in the TEXTOR tokamak.  相似文献

The nonlinear stage of the parametric decay instability of an extraordinary wave is analyzed in the presence of a nonmonotonic density profile. The decay excites an electron Bernstein wave, which is localized in the vicinity of a local density maximum, and an ion Bernstein wave, which leaves a nonlinear interaction region and is absorbed by ions in the vicinity of the harmonics of the ion cyclotron frequency. The main mechanism of instability saturation is considered to be a cascade of decays of a primary daughter electron Bernstein wave, which leads to the excitation of localized secondary electron Bernstein waves and ion cyclotron (Bernstein) waves. The localization of electron Bernstein waves causes a significant decrease in the secondary- decay excitation threshold, which is thought to provide saturation of the primary instability at the lowest level. The saturation of the primary parametric decay instability of a pump wave and the anomalous absorption of the pump power are analytically estimated. A numerical simulation is performed using the parameters that are typical of the experiments on the electron cyclotron resonance heating of plasma at the second resonance harmonic in TCV tokamak.  相似文献

Numerical studies on stability of terahertz (THz) radiation generation based on difference frequency generation in nonlinear crystals are reported. When the gain saturation is achieved at a wavelength that corresponds to an optimal crystal length, the maximal output of THz radiation could be obtained. As a result of crystal absorption, the gain saturation region of THz radiation is unstable region for output. The stability of THz radiation is determined by the stability of pump in the stable region where behind of the gain saturation.  相似文献

We demonstrate the ultrafast control of condensation and evaporation of an electron–hole liquid in diamond prepared by chemical vapor deposition. The electron–hole liquid dynamics was measured using a three‐pulse pump and probe experiment. The transient transmission changes in the presence of electron–hole drops were assigned to the increase in the Drude scattering rate in the model of free carrier absorption due to a high carrier density. The fast (~1 ps) liquid evaporation was induced by infrared femtosecond pulses and its dynamics was investigated under different photon energies and fluences. The value of the electron–hole liquid binding energy per electron–hole pair 80 ± 40 meV determined from the measured transient transmission signal agrees well with previously published values. The behaviour of electrons in CH_{4}/H_{2} gas mixture in electron-assisted chemical vapour deposition of diamond is investigated using Monte Carlo simulation. The electron drift velocity in gas mixture is obtained over a wide range of E/P (the ratio of the electric field to gas pressure) from 1500 to 300000 (V/m kPa^{-1}). The electron energy distribution and average energy under different gas pressure (0.1-20kPa) and CH_{4} concentration (0.5%-10.0%) are calculated. Their effects on the diamond growth are also discussed. It is believed that these results will be helpful to the selection of optimum experimental conditions for high quality diamond film deposition.  相似文献

The organic light emitting diode (OLED) hole transport molecules N,N,N’,N’-tetraphenylbenzidine (TPB, triphenylamine dimer TAD or TPD) and N,N’-bis(2-naphtalenyl)-N,N’-bis(phenylbenzidine) (β-NPB, naphtyl-diphenylamine dimer β-NPD), dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (THF) and as neat film, are characterized by optical absorption and emission spectroscopy. The absorption and stimulated emission cross-section spectra, the fluorescence quantum distributions, fluorescence quantum yields, degrees of fluorescence polarization, and fluorescence lifetimes are determined. The lasing behaviour is studied by picosecond laser pulse excitation (excitation wavelength 347.15 nm, pulse duration 35 ps). The excited-state absorption at the pump laser wavelength is determined by saturable absorption measurement. Low-Q laser oscillation of TPB in THF is achieved by transverse pumping of the dye in a cell. The excited-state absorption of TPB in THF at the laser wavelength is extracted from the laser threshold. In TPB neat films, wave-guided travelling-wave lasing was obtained. No laser action was achieved for β-NPB because of small S1-S0 stimulated emission cross-section, and the presence of excited-state absorption in the fluorescence wavelength region. The TPB and β-NPB results are compared with the corresponding spectroscopic and lasing behaviour of the related methyl-substituted triphenylamine dimers, 3-methyl-TPD and 4-methyl-TPD, which are well established OLED hole transport materials.  相似文献

A tellurite fibre of TeO_{2}-ZnO-La_{2}O_{3}-Li_{2}O glass codoped with 20000 ppm ytterbium and 5000 ppm erbium was fabricated by the suction casting and rod-in-tube technologies. The absorption spectrum of Er^{3+}/Yb^{3+} -codoped bulk glass has been measured. From the Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters, the spontaneous emission probability and radiative lifetime τ_{rad} of Er^{3+}:{}^{4}I_{13/2}→{}^{4}I_{15/2} transition for the bulk glass have been calculated. The emission fluorescence spectra and lifetimes around 1.5μm, and subsequent upconversion fluorescence in the range of 500-700nm were measured in fibres and compared with those in bulk glass. The changes in amplified spontaneous emission with fibre length and pumping power was also measured. It was found that the emission spectrum from erbium in fibres is almost twice as broad as the corresponding spectrum in bulk glass when pumped at 980nm.  相似文献

数值模拟并分析了以GaSe晶体为例对光学差频产生太赫兹(THz)波的特性.结果表明:当THz波长为227.5 μm,晶体长度为26.3 mm时,产生THz波功率达到增益饱和,在增益饱和点输出最高峰值功率可以达到945 W.由于晶体吸收的影响,THz波的增益饱和区是输出功率的非稳定区,而THz波的输出稳定区位于增益饱和区之后,在稳定区的THz波稳定性取决于抽运光的稳定性.当THz波波长为227.5 μm时,达到稳定区所需晶体长度为37.9 mm,此时THz波输出峰值功率可以达到735 W. 关键词: 光学差频 太赫兹辐射 稳定性  相似文献

利用飞秒泵浦探测技术研究了PbS半导体纳米颗粒复合的SiO2溶胶凝胶薄膜的瞬态动力学过程。通过改变激发探测波长和激发光强度,研究引起PbS半导体纳米颗粒的非线性吸收的两种机制。当激发探测波长选在激子吸收峰附近(620nm)时,由于激子的饱和吸收引起的光致漂白,当激发波长选在激子能态的低能侧(753,800nm),同时观察到激子的饱和吸收和双激子效应引起的光致吸收。研究了激子的饱和吸收和双激子效应引起的激发态吸收随激发态电子-空穴对浓度的变化关系,表明双激子效应与载流子浓度有很大关系。在高激发强度下,双激子效应引起的诱导吸收远远大于激子跃迁引起的光致漂白,双激子效应在非线性吸收中起着决定性作用。  相似文献

Er^{3+}- and Er^{3+}/Yb^{3+}-doped lead germanate glasses that are suitable for use in fibre lasers and optical amplifiers as well as optical waveguide devices have been fabricated and characterized. The absorption spectra from near-infrared to visible were obtained and the Judd-Ofelt parameters were determined from the absorption band. Intense and broad 1.53μm infrared fluorescence and visible upconversion luminescence were observed under 976 nm diode laser excitation. For 1.53μm emission band, the full widths at half-maximum are 36, 37, 51 nm for GPE, GPYE and GPFE samples, respectively. For frequency upconversion emission, the intense bands centred at around 524, 545, 657nm are due to the {}^4S_{3/2}+{}^2H_{11/2}→{}^4I_{15/2} and {}^4F_{9/2}→{}^4I_{15/2} transitions of Er^{3+} ions. The quadratic dependence of the green and red emissions on excitation power indicates that the two-photon absorption process occurs under the 976nm excitation.  相似文献

利用开孔Z扫描技术研究了吸收峰分别为553 nm和503 nm的两种尺寸CdSe/ZnS核-壳结构量子点溶液的非线性吸收性质.对于532 nm,6 ns激光脉冲,两种材料均表现出饱和吸收向反饱和吸收转化的现象.数值模拟结果表明:当吸收峰波长大于激光波长时,饱和吸收过程由快、慢两种机制组成,分别对应基态载流子被激发至不同的激发态,而强光下的反饱和吸收与快过程相关;当吸收峰波长小于激光波长时,饱和吸收主要由快过程机制引起,强光下的反饱和吸收源自激发态吸收和双光子吸收.我们的研究结果表明半导体量子点是研制光开关和光限制器件的理想候选材料.  相似文献

Theoretical analysis of threshold gain and absorption efficiency is presented for a vertical-cavity surface-emitting organic laser by using transfer matrix method. Pyrromethene 567 dye doped in a polymer film is examined for verification of the active material with an InGaN cyan LED as a pump source. By alternately stacking high- and low-refractive-index active polymer films, modeling results indicate that the threshold gain can be reduced and the absorption efficiency at the pump wavelength can be improved compared with those of a vertical cavity with a dielectric mirror stack. The absorption efficiency of the distributed-feedback resonator is not practically degraded even if the pump wavelength is located near the stopband.  相似文献
