The 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone single crystal has been grown by the modified vertical Bridgman technique using the double wall ampoule. The grown crystal was confirmed by single and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analyses. High resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) analysis indicates the crystalline perfection of the grown crystal. The cutoff wavelength of the grown crystal was analyzed by optical studies. The dielectric measurements were carried out and the results indicate an increase in dielectric and conductivity parameters with the increase of temperature at all frequencies. The thermal property of the grown crystal was studied by thermo gravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analyses (DTA).  相似文献

Single crystal growth, spectroscopic, relative second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency and thermal analysis of 2-aminopyridinium picrate (2APP) is reported for the first time. Crystals were grown by the slow evaporation solution technique using methanol as a solvent. The crystal system and lattice parameters were confirmed by single crystal and powder XRD analyses. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectroscopic studies were carried out to identify the functional groups and vibrational modes present in the grown crystal. Crystalline perfection of the grown crystal was assessed by high-resolution XRD and the results reveal that the crystal is reasonably good. SHG efficiency was measured using Kurtz powder technique. Thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) studies were carried out and show that the grown single crystal is stable up to 223 °C.  相似文献

Transparent single crystals of diglycine cadmium chloride were grown by slow evaporation solution technique. To confirm the crystal structure, the grown crystals were subjected to single crystal as well as powder X-ray diffraction measurements and the structure was found to be monoclinic. The elemental analysis was carried out by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The crystalline perfection of the grown crystal was assessed by high-resolution X-ray diffractometry and found that the crystal quality is fairly good. The optical study reveals that the grown crystal is highly transparent in the region 250?C900?nm. Thermal studies reveal that the grown crystal is stable up to 245?°C. The michrohardness analysis revealed that the grown crystal belongs to soft material category. The high dielectric constant (>30) and low loss (<0.01) value also confirms that the grown crystal is a good candidate for device fabrications.  相似文献

Single crystals of γ-glycine, an organic nonlinear optical material have been synthesized in the presence of potassium fluoride (KF) by slow evaporation technique at ambient temperature. The size of the grown crystal is up to the dimension of 12 mm×10 mm×8 mm. The γ-phase was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction, powder XRD and the FTIR analysis. Optical absorption spectrum reveals that the grown crystal has good optical transparency in the entire visible region with an energy band gap of 5.09 eV, which is an essential requirement for a nonlinear optical crystal. Thermal stability of the grown γ-glycine crystal was determined using the thermo gravimetric and differential thermal analyses. The NLO activity of γ-glycine was confirmed by the Kurtz powder technique using Nd:YAG laser and the grown crystal exhibits high relative conversion efficiency when compared to potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP).  相似文献

The organic nonlinear optical material of 4-bromo-4'chloro benzylidene aniline (BCBA) was synthesized and single crystal of BCBA was grown from acetone solution by solvent evaporation method at room temperature. Its three dimensional structure was elucidated from single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis at 173 K. Synthesized compound of BCBA was subjected to FTIR and (1)H and (13)C NMR spectral analyses. The range and percentage of optical transmission of BCBA was determined by UV-vis-NIR spectrum and its fluorescence spectrum was recorded using spectrofluorometer. The mechanical strength of the crystal was estimated using Vickers microhardness test on the (001) plane. Dielectric constant of the grown crystal was measured for various frequencies along (001) plane. The third order nonlinear optical properties of BCBA were investigated by Z-scan technique with He-Ne laser radiation of wavelength at 632.8 nm and the corresponding nonlinear refractive index, absorption coefficient and optical susceptibility were calculated.  相似文献

Single crystals of cadmium manganese thiocyanate, CdMn(SCN)4 (CMTC) have been successfully synthesized and grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique using water as solvent at room temperature. The crystal was characterized by different techniques for finding its suitability for device fabrications. From the single crystal XRD the crystal system was identified as tetragonal. The functional groups were identified from FTIR analysis. The optical studies have been carried out and found that the tendency of transmission observed from the specimen with respect to the wavelength of light is practically more suitable for the present trends in communication engineering. From the thermal analysis the decomposing temperature of the grown crystal is more significant when compared with the studies performed earlier.  相似文献
