Reported here are the results on level and structure of the radiated field of an open resonator at and off resonance. On the basis of the modelling problem rigorous solution and the measurements at 4-millimeter wavelength we find there are no ways to compensate the radiated field from an open electromagnetic structure at resonance. Analysis of open resonator excitation efficiency shows that the mismatch loss of a slot-fed open resonator runs to 34% while at the aperture-feed excitation this is not more than 6% for the same-geometry resonator.  相似文献

We study theoretically and experimentally the efficiency of excitation of an open resonator by a waveguide. A two-dimensional model of a quasioptical two-mirror open resonator, which is excited through a coupling element in the form of an open end of a plane-parallel waveguide, is proposed. The field of the open resonator is represented as the superposition of Gaussian wave beams and its scattering on the coupling element is described by solving the problem of diffraction of waveguide waves and Gaussian wave beams on an open end of a flanged waveguide. Properties of the mirrors and the resonator loss are specified from physical considerations. The calculation results are compared with the experimental data, and a physical interpretation of the obtained results is offered. The factors which influence the efficiency of excitation of an open resonator are identified. Following Kaku's way, various interacting actions of bosonic open strings as well as closed strings are constructed, which are invariant under. local reparametrization transformations, string group and global transformations of a Lie group. A new way to introduce and calculate vector coupling coefficients (VCCs) is proposed for computations in a Hartree–Fock approximation of atoms with one and two open shells. In the case of atoms with one open shell (Roothaan method), the obtained formulas for VCCs are applicable to the calculation of all terms of such atoms without exception. The VCCs are also calculated for a number of configurations of atoms with two open shells (Huzinaga method). The correctness of the obtained VCCs is confirmed by numerous calculations of energies and dipole polarizabilities for atoms with one and two open shells.  相似文献

The security of keys for the basic nonrelativistic BB84 protocol has been examined for more than 15 years. A simple proof of security for the case of a single-photon source of quantum states and finite sequences has been only recently obtained using entropy uncertainty relations. However, the existing sources of states are not strictly single-photon. Since sources are not single-photon and losses in a quantum channel??open space??are not a priori known and vary, nonrelativistic quantum cryptographic systems in open space cannot guarantee the unconditional security of keys. Recently proposed relativistic quantum cryptography removes fundamental constraints associated with non-single-photon sources and losses in open space. The resistance of a fundamentally new family of protocols for relativistic quantum key distribution through open space has been analyzed for the real situation with finite lengths of transmitted sequences of quantum states. This system is stable with real sources of non-single-photon states (weakened laser radiation) and arbitrary losses in open space.  相似文献

The truncation of large physical domains to concentrate computational resources is necessary or desirable in simulating many natural and man-made plasma phenomena. Three open boundary condition (BC) methods for such domain truncation of dissipative magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) problems are described and compared here. A novel technique, lacuna-based open boundary conditions (LOBC), is presented for applying open BC to dissipative MHD and other hyperbolic and mixed hyperbolic-parabolic systems of partial differential equations. LOBC, based on manipulating Calderon-type near-boundary sources, essentially damp hyperbolic effects in an exterior region attached to the simulation domain and apply BC appropriate for the remaining parabolic effects (if present) at the exterior region boundary. Another technique, approximate Riemann BC (ARBC), is adapted from finite volume and discontinuous Galerkin methods. In ARBC, the value of incoming flux is specified using a local, characteristic-based method. A third commonly-used open BC, zero-normal derivative BC (ZND BC), is presented for comparison. These open BC are tested in several gas dynamics and dissipative MHD problems. LOBC are found to give stable, low-reflection solutions even in the presence of strong parabolic behavior, while ARBC are stable only when hyperbolic behavior is dominant. Pros and cons of the techniques are discussed and put into context within the body of open BC research to date.  相似文献

We present the results of experimental studies of controlling the spectrum and Q-factors of modes in an open resonator with a conducting cylindrical insert. The phenomenon of an increase in the diffraction Q-factor is experimentally observed for the fundamental TEM00q mode for two resonant diameters of the conducting cylindrical insert located inside the open resonator. The features of excitation of modes in an open resonator with smooth cylindrical finite-length mirrors and in an open resonator with cutoff bevels at the mirror edges are studied. The two-dimensional conformal field theory representation of Witten's open superstring field theory is discussed. We argue that the previously suggested cubic action for the superstring is actually dependent on the spacetime background, and suggest a modification which formally removes this dependence. The transformation from the new version of the superstring cubic action to Witten's action for open string states is discussed. A class of linearized solutions to the equations of motion of the open superstring cubic action are exhibited. These solutions are in one-to-one correspondence with the physical excitations (both massless and massive) of the open and closed type I superstrings.  相似文献

A vibration analysis of a circular steel substrate surface bonded by a piezoelectric layer with open circuit is presented. A solution for the electrical potential along the thickness direction of the piezoelectric layer satisfying the open circuit electric boundary condition is developed for the first time. The mechanical model and solutions for the vibration analysis of the piezoelectric coupled circular plate are then established based on the developed electrical potential, the Kirchhoff plate model, and the Maxwell equation. The first four mode shapes and the corresponding resonant frequencies of the plate with two standard boundary conditions are presented in numerical simulations and compared with those of a piezoelectric coupled plate with the closed circuit condition. The simulations show that the resonant frequencies of the open circuit piezoelectric coupled plate are higher than those of the closed circuit piezoelectric coupled plate. Corresponding discussions are thus provided for the higher piezoelectric effect from the open circuit piezoelectric layer.  相似文献

The direction dependence of surface wave speed and the influence of electrically and magnetically short/open circuit conditions are investigated in this paper. First, the elastic, piezoelectric and piezomagnetic coefficients in the considered ordinate system are obtained by Bond transformation from that in the crystal axis ordinate system. Then, the secular equation which surface wave speed satisfies is derived from the free traction condition on the surface of half-space with consideration of electrically and magnetically short/open circuit conditions. Some numerical examples are given. The direction dependence of surface wave speed and the influence of short and open circuit conditions are shown graphically.  相似文献

利用电磁场的等效原理,将一个开放微波腔等效于一个闭合边界微波腔(即封闭微波腔)和开放边界(即行波吸收边界)两部分,然后利用等效封闭微波腔的本征模式及其与开放边界的耦合,建立了关于开放微波腔模式(即模式场分布、频率、品质因子)的耦合方程组,其中开放边界为行波吸收边界.以X波段六腔渡越振荡管为例进行分析,将该振荡管等效为封闭微波腔和同轴输出结构两部分,用SUPPERFISH获得封闭腔的各个模式场分布及频率,然后根据封闭微波腔与开放边界的耦合,求得六腔渡越振荡管的工作模频率为9.25GHz,品质因子为115.2,与实验测量结果基本符合. 关键词: 微波腔 本征模式 场耦合 渡越振荡管  相似文献

It is shown that the effective Hamiltonian representation, as it is formulated in author??s papers, serves as a basis for distinguishing, in a broadband environment of an open quantum system, independent noise sources that determine, in terms of the stationary quantum Wiener and Poisson processes in the Markov approximation, the effective Hamiltonian and the equation for the evolution operator of the open system and its environment. General stochastic differential equations of generalized Langevin (non-Wiener) type for the evolution operator and the kinetic equation for the density matrix of an open system are obtained, which allow one to analyze the dynamics of a wide class of localized open systems in the Markov approximation. The main distinctive features of the dynamics of open quantum systems described in this way are the stabilization of excited states with respect to collective processes and an additional frequency shift of the spectrum of the open system. As an illustration of the general approach developed, the photon dynamics in a single-mode cavity without losses on the mirrors is considered, which contains identical intracavity atoms coupled to the external vacuum electromagnetic field. For some atomic densities, the photons of the cavity mode are ??locked?? inside the cavity, thus exhibiting a new phenomenon of radiation trapping and non-Wiener dynamics.  相似文献

To this end, an open system is described in terms of stochastic evolution of its quantum pure states. It is shown that the class of variables that display classical behaviour crucially depends on the type of noise. Microscopic open systems are defined by optimally controlled (with respect to the minimal average energy) randomly perturbed evolutions. It is shown that these evolutions are compatible with quantum ground states. New representations and interpretations of ground states revealed by these evolutions are stressed and discussed. We have demonstrated a flexible twin open ring WDM network for metro applications. A pair of optical switches in the network keeps the fiber rings open to prevent signal circulation. 把三能级开放系统的密度矩阵按照Gellmann矩阵展开,然后将展开系数和Bloch球中的方位角对应, 从而获得了Poincaré球内部点和复三维Hilbert空间的非单位矢量即波函数的映射.进一步建议用该非单位矢量来定义混合态的量子几何相位.结果显示该几何相位仅仅与复Hilbert投影空间的几何结构有关, 与开放系统具体的演化路径无关;并且该混合态的几何相位依赖于开放系统的反转粒子数,也是描述开放系统混合度的单值光滑曲线,这个结果意味着混合态的演化的确按照几何相位保持其运动记忆.此外,在纯态的限制下,Berry相位是本文定义的几何相位极限情况.  相似文献

 建立了C波段磁绝缘线振荡器开放腔模型,通过监测宽带激励源的响应计算出开放腔的谐振频率和有载品质因数。用时域有限差分法计算了不同的径向位置一个周期内的径向电场随纵向距离的变化。计算表明:0~4.1 cm区电场很小但不为零;4.1~11.5 cm区域电场呈现驻波特性;在11.5~20 cm区域电场分布比较复杂,表现两个性质,一是驻波场过渡到行波场,二是从周期性加载圆柱谐振腔的TM00模过渡到同轴线的TEM模;在20~36.85 cm区域电场每经过1/4周期向右传播1/4波长,表现出行波特性。由此根据该计算结果将开放腔中的场从左到右分成4个区:截止区、驻波区、过渡区和行波区。最后根据定义计算了开放腔的固有品质因数和有载品质因数。  相似文献

This paper reports the results of a large scale, detailed acoustic survey of 42 open plan classrooms of varying design in the UK each of which contained between 2 and 14 teaching areas or classbases. The objective survey procedure, which was designed specifically for use in open plan classrooms, is described. The acoustic measurements relating to speech intelligibility within a classbase, including ambient noise level, intrusive noise level, speech to noise ratio, speech transmission index, and reverberation time, are presented. The effects on speech intelligibility of critical physical design variables, such as the number of classbases within an open plan unit and the selection of acoustic finishes for control of reverberation, are examined. This analysis enables limitations of open plan classrooms to be discussed and acoustic design guidelines to be developed to ensure good listening conditions. The types of teaching activity to provide adequate acoustic conditions, plus the speech intelligibility requirements of younger children, are also discussed.  相似文献
