大口径掺钛蓝宝石晶体放大的实验研究   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
 分析了口径为80 mm的钛宝石晶体内的增益特性,对大口径钛宝石晶体中的泵浦光能量密度和泵浦光口径进行了优化设计。对于80 mm×17 mm的晶体,最佳工作光束口径为55 mm,泵浦能量为50 J;对于80 mm×30 mm的晶体,最佳工作光束口径为60 mm,泵浦能量为90 J,且其横向小信号增益远小于80 mm×17 mm晶体的。对影响大口径钛宝石晶体放大的横向放大自发辐射(ASE)和寄生振荡采用折射率匹配的包边技术进行了抑制。实验表明,该方法把允许横向增益从13提高到了2 100。实验系统为100 J绿光台面泵浦激光器,100 TW主放大器采用四程空间构型放大光路。80 mm×17 mm钛宝石晶体c轴水平放置,泵浦光和主激光均为水平偏振。当以泵浦光能量为49 J对主放大器进行双端泵浦,注入信号光能量为1.2 J,光束口径60 mm时,获得了14.2 J的放大光输出和286 TW的最高峰值功率。  相似文献

发展了小纵横比条件下、具有圆柱对称性介质的高功能KrF准分子激光放大器中,放大自发辐射效应的三维理论模型和计算程序。考虑自发辐射的频率分布效应以及侧壁表面反射效应。结果分析表明,当纵横比及入射负载均较小时,放大自发辐射对输出光束质量有较大的影响。  相似文献

采用腔内和腔外两种方法对激光脉冲进行光谱整形。在掺钛蓝宝石再生放大器中插入一定厚度的石英双折射晶体片,通过调节晶体光轴的空间取向,对再生放大器输出的脉冲光谱进行腔内整形,使再生放大器输出脉冲的谱宽从20nm左右增加到35nm左右,接近进入再生放大器的激光种子脉冲的谱宽。另外用镀反射膜的平板滤光片进行了腔外光谱整形的实验,使再生放大器输出脉冲谱宽展宽到28nm左右。  相似文献

By using an optical circulator and C/L-band wavelength division multiplexer to recycle the C-band backward ASE, an L-band gain-clamped erbium-doped fiber amplifier is presented. We have experimentally studied the static gain clamping property of this amplifier. As the ASE feedback attenuation is set to 0, the gain at 1585 nm can be clamped at 18.84 ± 0.26 dB within dynamic range of 25 dB and the critical power reaches about −15.09 dBm. The gain variation and saturated output power at 1585 nm for 0 dB attenuation are 1 dB lower and 2.17 dB higher than those for 30 dB attenuation, which indicates that the L-band EDFA gain can be effectively clamped via the ASE injection technique.  相似文献

The small signal analysis method is presented for the discussion of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise in dispersion and nonlinear transmission fibers in wavelength division multiplex (WDM) systems. Based on it, the complete ASE noise spectra (include the ASE noise, the ASE noise enhanced by parametric gain and the crosstalk caused by ASE noise and parametric gain) are described and the factors impacting on them are discussed. The crosstalk caused by ASE noise and parametric gain in single mode fibers, non-zero dispersion shift fibers and dispersion compensation fibers are analyzed. Taking into account the dispersion effect in the transmission fibers, the three types of ASE noise may decrease.  相似文献

For ultraintense and ultrashort laser facilities, there are few efficient and reliable methods for suppressing the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) generated in the last several amplifiers. In the paper, we applied a highly efficient saturable absorber to suppress the ASE. Experiments were carried out to study the absorption property of the saturable absorber and the enhancement of temporal contrast with it in the front-end system of the SILEX-I laser facility with a central wavelength of 800 nm. We also analyzed the effects of the saturable absorber on other laser parameters, such as the spectrum, the spatial beam profile, and energy stability. The results show that the saturable absorber is highly efficient and the transmissivity is as high as 90%. The temporal contrast is improved by more than one order of magnitude. Meanwhile, the saturable absorber has little impact on other parameters. With these advantages, the saturable absorber is an efficient, appropriate and convenient solution to suppressing the ASE generated in the front-end system and also in the last several amplification stages for ultraintense and ultrashort lasers.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate an SOA (semiconductor optical amplifier) preamplifier structure by optimizing the carrier lifetime in order to reduce the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise and crosstalk, with adequate gain increase. This proposed SOA optical preamplifier has no need of optical alignment and antireflection coating. This structure of SOA eliminates the need of optical filter, and exhibits large tolerance to the input light wavelength. The receiver sensitivity is investigated for single and multi channel transmission links. The received power of − 50.34 dBm is observed at bit error rate (BER) 10− 12 for 10 Gb/s with PIN receiver. Further, the impact of gain, amplified spontaneous emission power and gain variation for different carrier lifetime with input power for OOK system is illustrated. The proposed SOA has constant gain of 30.06 dB up to gain saturation for carrier lifetime 0.18 ns. It is predicted that low value of carrier lifetime suffers less from ASE noise.  相似文献

A gain clamping technique for the long wavelength band erbium-doped fiber amplifier (L-band EDFA) is presented. It uses two circulators and a broad band fiber Bragg grating to route wasted backward C-band ASE from the second stage and launch it back into the input end of the first stage of a two-stage amplifier. The two-stage L-band EDFA has shown a small signal gain improvement of 5.7 dB compared to a single-stage amplifier with a slight noise figure degradation. By utilizing the wasted backward ASE, a L-band gain-clamped EDFA with high gain can be realized. Compared to the unclamped case, this gain-clamping technique is effective in reducing the total gain variation as small as 0.3 dB.  相似文献

We numerically simulated the ten channels at 10 Gb/s dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transmission faithfully over 17,227 km using 70 km span of single mode fiber (SMF) and dispersion compensating fiber (DCF) using optimum span scheme at channel spacing 20 GHz. For this purpose, inline optimized semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) and DPSK format are used. We optimized the SOA parameters for inline amplifier with minimum crosstalk and amplified spontaneous emission noise with sufficient gain at bias current 400 mA. For this bias current, constant gain 36.5 dB is obtained up to saturation power 21.35 mW. We have also optimized the optical phase modulator bandwidth for 400 mA current which is around 5.5 GHz with crosstalk −14.2 dB between two channels at spacing 20 GHz.We show the 10×10 Gb/s transmission over 70 km distance with inline amplifier has good signal power received as compared to without amplifier, even at equal quality factor. We further investigated the optimum span scheme for 5670 km transmission distance for 10×10 Gb/s with channel spacing 20 at 5.5 GHz optical phase modulator bandwidth. As we increase the transmission distance up to 17,227 km, there is increase in power penalty with reasonable quality.The impact of optical power received and Q factor at 5670 and 17,227 km transmission distance for different span schemes for all channels has been illustrated. For launched optical power less than saturation, all channels are obtained at bit error rate floor of 10−10.  相似文献

The suppression of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) that arises during the femtosecond chirped-pulse amplification is presented. On the basis of the distinct differences in the spatial, temporal and spectral region between ASE and the amplified laser signal, the noise arising from ASE was effectively filtered out. The ratio between the amplified femtosecond pulse and the ASE peak power was higher than 107. Pulses as short as 38 fs were amplified to peak power of 1.4 TW.  相似文献
