The synthesis and heterogenization of new Grubbs-Hoveyda type metathesis catalysts by chlorine exchange is described. Substitution of one or two chlorine ligands with trifluoroacetate and trifluoromethanesulfonate was accomplished by reaction of [RuCl(2)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (IMesH(2) = 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene) with the silver salts CF(3)COOAg and CF(3)SO(3)Ag, respectively. The resulting compounds, [Ru(CF(3)SO(3))(2)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (1), [RuCl(CF(3)SO(3))([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (2), and [Ru(CF(3)CO(2))(2)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (3) were found to be highly active catalysts for ring-closing metathesis (RCM) at elevated temperature (45 degrees C), exceeding known ruthenium-based catalysts in catalytic activity. Turn-over numbers (TONs) up to 1800 were achieved in RCM. Excellent yields were also achieved in enyne metathesis and ring-opening cross metathesis using norborn-5-ene and 7-oxanorborn-5-ene-derivatives. Even more important, 3 was found to be highly active in RCM at room temperature (20 degrees C), allowing TONs up to 1400. Heterogeneous catalysts were synthesized by immobilizing [RuCl(2)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] on a perfluoroglutaric acid derivatized polystyrene-divinylbenzene (PS-DVB) support (silver form). The resulting supported catalyst [RuCl(polymer-CH(2)-O- CO-CF(2)-CF(2)-CF(2)-COO)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (5) showed significantly reduced activities in RCM (TONs = 380) compared with the heterogeneous analogue of 3. The immobilized catalyst, [Ru(polymer-CH(2)-O-CO-CF(2)-CF(2)-CF(2)-COO)(CF(3)CO(2))([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (4) was obtained by substitution of both Cl ligands of the parent Grubbs-Hoveyda catalyst by addition of CF(3)COOAg to 5. Compound 4 can be prepared in high loadings (160 mg catalyst g(-1) PS-DVB) and possesses excellent activity in RCM with TONs up to 1100 in stirred-batch RCM experiments. Leaching of ruthenium into the reaction mixture was unprecedentedly low, resulting in a ruthenium content <70 ppb (ng g(-1)) in the final RCM-derived products.  相似文献

The hydrogenation of 1-acetylcyclohexene, cyclohex-2-enone, nitrobenzene, and trans-methylpent-3-enoate catalyzed by highly active palladium nanoparticles was studied by high-throughput on-column reaction gas chromatography. In these experiments, catalysis and separation of educts and products is integrated by the use of a catalytically active gas chromatographic stationary phase, which allows reaction rate measurements to be efficiently performed by employing reactant libraries. Palladium nanoparticles embedded in a stabilizing polysiloxane matrix serve as catalyst and selective chromatographic stationary phase for these multiphase reactions (gas-liquid-solid) and are coated in fused-silica capillaries (inner diameter 250 microm) as a thin film of thickness 250 nm. The palladium nanoparticles were prepared by reduction of palladium acetate with hydridomethylsiloxane-dimethylsiloxane copolymer and self-catalyzed hydrosilylation with methylvinylsiloxane-dimethylsiloxane copolymer to obtain a stabilizing matrix. Diphenylsiloxane-dimethylsiloxane copolymer (GE SE 52) was added to improve film stability over a wide range of compositions. Herein, we show by systematic TEM investigations that the size and morphology (crystalline or amorphous) of the nanoparticles strongly depends on the ratio of the stabilizing polysiloxanes, the conditions to immobilize the stationary phase on the surface of the fused-silica capillary, and the loading of the palladium precursor. Furthermore, hydrogenations were performed with these catalytically active stationary phases between 60 and 100 degrees C at various contact times to determine the temperature-dependent reaction rate constants and to obtain activation parameters and diffusion coefficients.  相似文献

The synthesis of novel ruthenium-based metathesis catalysts containing the saturated 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidin-2-ylidene ligand, that is, [RuCl2(NHC)[=CH-2-(2-PrO)-5-NO(2)-C6H3]] (1) and [Ru(CF3COO)2(NHC)[=CH-2-(2-PrO)-5-NO2-C6H3]] (2) (NHC=1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-3,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidin-2-ylidene) is described. Both catalysts are highly active in ring-closing metathesis (RCM) and ring-opening cross-metathesis (ROCM). Compound 1 shows moderate activity in enyne metathesis. Compound 2 is not applicable to enyne metathesis since it shows high activity in the cyclopolymerization of diethyl dipropargylmalonate (DEDPM). Poly(DEDPM) prepared by the action of 2 consists of 95% five-membered rings, that is, poly(cyclopent-1-enevinylene)s, and 5 % of six-membered rings, that is, poly(cyclohex-1-ene-3-methylidene)s. The polymerization proceeds in a nonliving manner and results in polyenes with broad polydispersities (1.9< or =PDI< or =2.3). Supported analogues of 2 were prepared by immobilization on hydroxymethyl-Merrifield resin and a monolithic support derived from ring-opening-metathesis polymerization (ROMP). Catalyst loadings of 1 and 2.5%, respectively, were obtained. Both supported versions of 2 showed excellent reactivity. With 0.24-2% of the supported catalysts, yields in RCM and ROCM were in the range of 76-100%. Leaching of ruthenium was low and resulted in Ru contaminations of the products of less than 0.000014% (0.14 ppm).  相似文献

Several oxorhenium compounds in the formal oxidation states V and VII are examined as catalysts for the aldehyde-olefination starting from diazo compounds, phosphines, and aldehydes. Of these, [ReMeO2(eta2-alkyne)] complexes provide the simplest catalysts to study, although [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] still remains the most efficient rhenium catalyst for aldehyde-olefination described to date. Prior to the reaction with the Re catalysts the phosphine and the diazo compound react to form a phosphazine. No catalytic reaction occurs in cases where no phosphazine formation is observed. The first step of the catalytic cycle involves the formation of a carbene intermediate by the reaction of phosphazine and catalyst under extrusion of phosphine oxide and dinitrogen. In a second step the carbene reacts with aldehyde under olefin formation and catalyst regeneration. Excess of alkyne as well as the presence of ketones slows down the catalytic reaction. The olefination of 4-nitrobenzaldehyde with diazomalonate is possible with these Re catalysts. In contrast, this reaction does not take place either in the classical Wittig fashion from Ph3P=C(CO2Et)2 and aldehyde or by use of all other catalysts for aldehyde olefination reactions reported to date. Catalytic ylide formation from diazo compounds seems therefore not to be the only pathway through which catalytic aldehyde-olefination reactions can proceed.  相似文献

The data reported in this paper demonstrate that great care must be taken when choosing an appropriate catalyst for a given metathesis reaction. First-generation catalysts were found to be useful in the metathesis of sterically unhindered substrates. Second-generation catalysts (under optimised conditions) showed good to excellent activities toward sterically hindered and electron-withdrawing group (EWG)-substituted alkenes that do not react using the first-generation complexes. A strong temperature effect was noted on all of the reactions tested. Interestingly, attempts to force a reaction by increasing the catalyst loading were much less effective. Therefore, when possible, it is suggested that metathesis transformations should be carried out with a second-generation catalyst at 70 degrees C in toluene. However, different second-generation catalysts proved to be optimal for different applications and no single catalyst outperformed all others in all cases. Nevertheless, some empirical rules can be deduced from the model experiments, providing preliminary hints for the selection of the optimal catalysts.  相似文献

The controlled decomposition of an Ru(0) organometallic precursor dispersed in 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (BMI.PF(6)), tetrafluoroborate (BMI.BF(4)) or trifluoromethane sulfonate (BMI.CF(3)SO(3)) ionic liquids with H(2) represents a simple and efficient method for the generation of Ru(0) nanoparticles. TEM analysis of these nanoparticles shows the formation of superstructures with diameters of approximately 57 nm that contain dispersed Ru(0) nanoparticles with diameters of 2.6+/-0.4 nm. These nanoparticles dispersed in the ionic liquids are efficient multiphase catalysts for the hydrogenation of alkenes and benzene under mild reaction conditions (4 atm, 75 degrees C). The ternary diagram (benzene/cyclohexene/BMI.PF(6)) indicated a maximum of 1 % cyclohexene concentration in BMI.PF(6), which is attained with 4 % benzene in the ionic phase. This solubility difference in the ionic liquid can be used for the extraction of cyclohexene during benzene hydrogenation by Ru catalysts suspended in BMI.PF(6). Selectivities of up to 39 % in cyclohexene can be attained at very low benzene conversion. Although the maximum yield of 2 % in cyclohexene is too low for technical applications, it represents a rare example of partial hydrogenation of benzene by soluble transition-metal nanoparticles.  相似文献

This work provides original insights to the better understanding of the complex structure-activity relationship of Zr(IV)-pyridylamido-based olefin polymerization catalysts and highlights the importance of the metal-precursor choice (Zr(NMe(2))(4) vs. Zr(Bn)(4)) to prepare precatalysts of unambiguous identity. A temperature-controlled and reversible σ-bond metathesis/protonolysis reaction is found to take place on the Zr(IV)-amido complexes in the 298-383 K temperature range, changing the metal coordination sphere dramatically (from a five-coordinated tris-amido species stabilized by bidentate monoanionic {N,N(-)} ligands to a six-coordinated bis-amido-mono-amino complexes featured by tridentate dianionic {N(-),N,C(-)} ligands). Well-defined neutral Zr(IV)-pyridylamido complexes have been prepared from Zr(Bn)(4) as metal source. Their cationic derivatives [Zr(IV) N(-),N,C(-)}Bn](+)[B(C(6)F(5))(4)](-) have been successfully applied to the room-temperature polymerization of 1-hexene with productivities up to one order of magnitude higher than those reported for the related Hf(IV) state-of-the-art systems. Most importantly, a linear increase of the poly(1-hexene) M(n) values (30-250 kg mol(-1)) has been observed upon catalyst aging. According to that, the major active species (responsible for the increased M(n) polymer values) in the aged catalyst solution, has been identified.  相似文献

A series of ruthenium-based olefin metathesis catalysts coordinated with unsymmetrical N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands has been prepared and fully characterized. These complexes are readily accessible in one or two steps from commercially available [(PCy(3))(2)Cl(2)Ru==CHPh]. All of the complexes reported herein promote the ring-closing of diethyldiallyl and diethylallylmethallyl malonate, the ring-opening metathesis polymerization of 1,5-cyclooctadiene, and the cross metathesis of allyl benzene with cis-1,4-diacetoxy-2-butene, in some cases surpassing in efficiency the existing second-generation catalysts. Especially in the cross metathesis of allyl benzene with cis-1,4-diacetoxy-2-butene, all new catalysts demonstrate similar or higher activity than the second-generation ruthenium catalysts and, most importantly, afford improved E/Z ratios of the desired cross-product at conversion above 60 %. The influence of the unsymmetrical NHC ligands on the initiation rate and the activation parameters for the irreversible reaction of these ruthenium complexes with butyl vinyl ether were also studied. Finally, the synthesis of the related chlorodicarbonyl(carbene) rhodium(I) complexes allowed for the study of the electronic properties of the new unsymmetrical NHC ligands that are discussed in detail.  相似文献
