Homogeneous crack-free lead zirconate titanate (Pb(Zr0.45Ti0.55)O3: PZT 45/55) films were prepared by a chemically modified sol-gel process using lead acetate trihydrate, zirconium n-propoxide, and titanium isopropoxide precursors. The coating solutions were modified by the addition of diethanolamine. Single and multilayer films were deposited with a 2000 rpm spin rate on fused silica and MgO(100) substrates. Multiple spin coating with an intermediate heat treatment in air at 400°C for 3 min between coatings was performed to obtain films up to 2 m in thickness. The formation of the tetragonal perovskite structure was found to depend on the intermediate firing temperature, final annealing temperature, and annealing time. A 650°C rapid thermal annealing treatment in oxygen was required to crystallize the PZT film into the perovskite structure. The films were characterized using optical spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and thermo-gravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC). The optical constants of the PZT films were evaluated from spectral transmittance and reflectance measurements. Optical constants are presented over the visible and near infrared region.  相似文献

A new sol-gel synthesis procedure of stable calcium copper titanate (CaCu3Ti4O12—CCTO) precursor sols for the fabrication of porous films was developed. The composition of the sol was selected in order to avoid the precipitation of undesired phases; ethanol was used as solvent, acetic acid as modifier and poly(ethyleneglycol) as a linker agent. Films deposited by spin-coating onto oxidized silicon substrates were annealed at 700 °C. The main phase present in the samples, as detected by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, was CaCu3Ti4O12. Scanning electron microscopy analysis showed that mesoporous structures, with thicknesses between 200 and 400 nm, were developed as a result of the processing conditions. The films were tested regarding their sensibility towards oxygen and nitrogen at atmospheric pressure using working temperatures from 200 to 290 °C. The samples exhibited n-type conductivity, high sensitivity and short response times. These characteristics indicate that CCTO mesoporous structures obtained by sol-gel are suitable for application in gas sensing.  相似文献

Different substitutions, i.e. Sr2+, Ba2+, K+, Nb5+ and V5+, have been performed in the triclinic α-La2W2O9 structure in order to stabilise the high temperature and better ionic conductor cubic β-phase. This approach has been used to try to obtain a new series of ionic conductors with LAMOX-type structure without molybdenum and presumably better redox stability compared to β-La2Mo2O9. Nanocrystalline materials obtained by a freeze-drying precursor method at 600 °C exhibit mainly the β-La2W2O9 structure, however, the triclinic α-form is stabilised as the firing temperature increases and the crystallite size grows. Only high levels of Ba2+ and V5+ substitutions retained the cubic form at room temperature after firing above 1100 °C. However, these phases are metastable above 700 °C, exhibiting an irreversible transformation to the low temperature triclinic α-phase. The synthesis, structure, phase stability, kinetic of phase transformation and electrical conductivity of these materials have been studied in the present report.  相似文献

Multilayer Fe2O3 films were deposited by the sol-gel method on glass substrates using three successive deposition procedures. The films were thermally treated for 1 h at 300°C.The optical and microstructural properties of these films were investigated by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) in the 500–1000 nm range. The optical gap was found by fitting the dispersion of the film refractive index (n) with the Wemple-DiDomenico (WDD) formula. The ellipsometric measurements showed also that the Fe2O3 films are anisotropic. The birefringence values (n) of the sol-gel films (0.05–0.08) are smaller than the large values of the Fe2O3 (which are around 0.28) but increase with the crystalization of the films. AFM mesurements showed that the films treated at 300°C start to crystallize.  相似文献

Ag-TiO2 thin films were prepared with a sol-gel route, using titanium isopropoxide and silver nitrate as precursors, at 0, 0.03 and 0.06 Ag/Ti nominal atomic ratios. After drying at 80°C, the films were fired at 300°C, 500°C, and 600°C for 30 min and 5 h. Glancing angle X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), with depth profiling of the concentration, were used to study the films. XPS analysis showed the presence of C and N as impurities in the nanocomposite films. Their concentration decreased with increasing the firing temperature. Chemical state analysis showed that Ag was present in metallic state, except for the outer layer where it was present as Ag+. For the films prepared with a Agt/Ti concentration of 0.06, depth profiling measurements of the film fired at 300°C showed a strong Ag enrichment at the outer surface, while composition remained almost constant within the rest of the film, at Ag/Ti atomic ratio of 0.02. Two layers were found for the films heated to 500°C, where the Ag/Ti ratios were 0.015 near the surface and 0.03 near the substrate. The photoelectrochemical properties of Ag-TiO2 were studied for thin films deposited on ITO substrates. Photocurrents of Ag-TiO2 nanocomposite electrodes fired at 300°C were observed even at visible light, for wavelengths longer than 400 nm.  相似文献

Formation of nano-sized Y2O3-doped CeO2 (YCO) was observed in the chemical reaction between proton conducting Y2O3-doped BaCeO3 (BCY) and CO2 in the temperature range 700-1000 °C, which is generally prepared by wet-chemical methods that include sol-gel, hydrothermal, polymerization, combustion, and precipitation reactions. BCY can capture CO2 of 0.13 g per ceramic gram at 700 °C, which is comparable to that of the well-known Li2ZrO3 (0.15 g per ceramic gram at 600 °C). Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), laser particle size analysis (LPSA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and ac impedance spectroscopy were employed to characterize the reaction product obtained from reaction between BCY and CO2 and subsequent acid washing. PXRD study reveals presence of fluorite-like CeO2 (a=5.410 (1) Å) structure and BaCO3 in reaction products. TEM investigation of the acid washed product showed the formation of nano-sized material with particle sizes of about 50 nm. The electrical conductivity of acid washed product (YCO) in air was found to be about an order higher than the undoped CeO2 reported in the literature.  相似文献

The preparation of SiO2-M x O y (M = V, Sn, Sb) binary oxide thin films by sol-gel method was investigated. The reaction of silicic acid with metal chloride (M = Sn and Sb) or oxychloride (M = V) formed homogeneous solutions. The dip-coating of slide glass and silicon wafer followed by heat treatment gave oxide films having Si—O—M bond. The changes of FT-IR spectra as a function of heat treatment temperature and molar composition confirmed the Si—O—M bonds. The sheet resistance of films increased with an increase on heat treatment temperature and decrease in the content of metal oxide M x O y . X-ray diffraction peaks were observed for the SiO2-V2O5 films with high V2O5 contents and heat-treated above 250°C, while the others were amorphous. Oxide films heat treated at 500°C had a thickness between 340–470 nm.  相似文献

The solid-solid interactions between manganese and magnesium oxides in absence and in presence of small amounts of Li2O have been investigated. The molar ratios between manganese and magnesium oxides in the form of Mn2O3 and MgO were varied between 0.05:1 to 0.5:1. The mixed solids were calcined in air at 400-1000°C. The techniques employed were DTA, XRD and H2O2 decomposition at 20-40°C.The results obtained revealed that solid-solid interactions took place between the reacting solids at 600-1000°C yielding magnesium manganates (Mg2MnO4, Mg6MnO8, MgMnO4 besides unreacted portions of MgO, Mn2O3 and Mn3O4). Li2O-doping (0.75-6 mol%) of the investigated system followed by calcination at 600 and 800°C decreased progressively the intensity of the diffraction lines of Mn2O3 (Bixbyite) with subsequent increase in the lattice parameter 'a' of MgO to an extent proportional to the amount of Li2O added. This finding might suggest that the doping process enhanced the dissolution of Mn2O3 in MgO forming solid solution. This treatment led also to the formation of Li2MnO3. Furthermore, the doping with 3 and 6 mol% Li2O conducted at 800°C resulted in the conversion of Mn2O3 into Mn3O4, a process that took place at 1000°C in absence of Li2O. The produced Li2MnO3 phase remained stable by heating at up to 1000°C. Furthermore, Li2O doping of the investigated system at 400-1000°C resulted in a progressive measurable increase in the particle size of MgO.The catalytic activity measurements showed that the increase in the molar ratio of Mn2O3 in the samples precalcined at 400-800°C was accompanied by a significant increase in the catalytic activity of the treated solids. The maximum increase in the catalytic activity expressed as reaction rate constant measured at 20°C (k 20°C) attained 3.14, 2.67 and 3.25-fold for the solids precalcined at 400, 600 and 800°C, respectively. Li2O-doping of the samples having the formula 0.1 Mn2O3/MgO conducted at 400-600°C brought a progressive significant increase in its catalytic activity. The maximum increase in the value of k 20°C due to Li2O attained 1.93 and 2.75-fold for the samples preheated at 400 and 600°C, respectively and opposite effect was found for the doped samples preheated at 800°C.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Thick films of pure ZnO were obtained by screen-printing technique. Surface functionalized ZnO thick films by Cr2O3 were obtained by dipping pure ZnO thick films into 0.01 M aqueous solution of chromium trioxide (CrO3). The dipped films were fired at 500 °C for 30 min. Upon firing, the CrO3 would reduce to Cr2O3. Cr2O3-activated (0.47 mass%) ZnO thick films resulted in LPG sensor. Upon exposure to 100 ppm LPG, the barrier height between Cr2O3 and ZnO grains decreases markedly, leading to a drastic decrease in resistance. The sensor was found to sense LPG at 350 °C and no cross sensitivity was observed to other hazardous, polluting and inflammable gases. The quick response (∼18 s) and fast recovery (∼42 s) are the main features of this sensor. The effects of microstructures and dopant concentrations on the gas sensing performance of the sensor were studied and discussed.  相似文献

This paper examines the structural changes with temperature and composition in the Yb2Si2O7-Y2Si2O7 system; members of this system are expected to form in the intergranular region of Si3N4 and SiC structural ceramics when sintered with the aid of Yb2O3 and Y2O3 mixtures. A set of different compositions have been synthesised using the sol-gel method to obtain a xerogel, which has been calcined at temperatures between 1300 and 1650 °C during different times. Isotherms at 1300 and 1600 °C have been analysed in detail to evaluate the solid solubility of Yb2Si2O7 in β-Y2Si2O7 and γ-Y2Si2O7. Although Yb2Si2O7 shows a unique stable polymorph (β), Yb3+ is able to replace Y3+ in γ-Y2Si2O7 and δ-Y2Si2O7 at high temperatures and low Yb contents. IR results confirm the total solid solubility in the system and suggest a constant SiOSi angle of 180° in the Si2O7 unit across the system. The temperature-composition diagram of the system, obtained from powder XRD data, is dominated by the β-RE2Si2O7 polymorph, with γ-RE2Si2O7 and δ-RE2Si2O7 showing reduced stability fields. The diagram is in accordance with Felsche's diagram if average ionic radii are assumed for the members of the solid solution at any temperature, as long as the β-γ phase boundary is slightly shifted towards higher radii.  相似文献

A new sol-gel route was applied to obtain Y0.9Er0.1Al3(BO3)4 crystalline powders and amorphous thin films by using Al(acac)3, B(OPri)3, Y(NO3)3·6H2O, and Er(NO3)3·5H2O as starting materials dissolved in propionic acid and ethyl alcohol mixtures. Our study shows that propionic acid acts as good chelant agent for yttrium and erbium ions while ethyl alcohol allows to dissolve Al(acac)3. This process makes the resulting sols very stable to obtain homogeneous gels and transparent amorphous thin films. In addition, the propionic acid prevents the sol precipitation, making easy porous- and crack-free thin film depositions. Chemical reactions involved in the complexation were discussed. As-prepared powders and films are amorphous and present a good thermal stability due to their high glass transition (746 °C) and crystallization temperatures (830 °C). This new sol-gel route showed to be adequate to obtain dense and crack-free thin films free of organic and hydroxyl groups that can be considered as promising materials to be used in integrated optical systems.  相似文献

Microwave irradiation of a suspension of γ-MnOOH in a 4 mol dm−3 LiOH solution brought about a rapid formation of semicrystalline orthorhombic LiMnO2 (o-LiMnO2) within 30 min at 120°C. Cubic Li1.6Mn1.6O4 was obtained by heating o-LiMnO2 at 400°C; lithium could be topotactically extracted from Li1.6Mn1.6O4 with acid to form cubic H1.6Mn1.6O4.  相似文献

The nanocrystalline cubic Phase of zirconia was found to be thermally stabilized by the addition of 2.56 to 17.65 mol % Y2O3 (5.0 to 30.0 mol % Y, 95.0 to 70.0 mol % Zr cation content). The cubic phase of yttria stabilized zirconia was prepared by thermal decomposition of the hydroxides at 400°C for 1 hr. 2.56 mol % Y2O3‐ZrO2 was stable up to 800°C in an argon atmosphere. The samples with 4.17 to 17.65 mol % Y2O3 were stable to 1200°C and higher. All samples at temperatures between 1450°C to 1700°C were cubic except the sample with 2.56 mol % Y2O3 which was tetragonal. The crystallite sizes observed for the cubic phase ranged from 50 to 150 Å at temperatures below 900°C and varied from 600 to 800 nm between 1450°C and 1700°C. Control of furnace atmosphere is the main factor for obtaining the cubic phase of Y‐SZ at higher temperature. Nanocrystalline cubic Fe‐SZ (Iron Stabilized Zirconia) with crystallite sizes from 70 to 137 Å was also prepared at 400°C. It transformed isothermally at temperatures above 800°C to the tetragonal Fe‐SZ and ultimately to the monoclinic phase at 900°C. The addition of up to 30 mol % Fe(III) thermally stabilized the cubic phase above 800°C in argon. Higher mol % resulted in a separation of Fe2O3. The nanocrystalline cubic Fe‐SZ containing a minimum 20 mol % Fe (III) was found to have the greatest thermal stability. The particle size was a primary factor in determining cubic or tetragonal formation. The oxidation state of Fe in zirconia remained Fe3+. Fe‐SZ lattice parameters and rate of particle growth were observed to decrease with higher iron content. The thermal stability of Fe‐SZ is comparable with that of Ca‐SZ, Mg‐SZ and Mn‐SZ prepared by this method.  相似文献

Garnet-structure related metal oxides with the nominal chemical composition of Li5La3Nb2O12, In-substituted Li5.5La3Nb1.75In0.25O12 and K-substituted Li5.5La2.75K0.25Nb2O12 were prepared by solid-state reactions at 900, 950, and 1000 °C using appropriate amounts of corresponding metal oxides, nitrates and carbonates. The powder XRD data reveal that the In- and K-doped compounds are isostructural with the parent compound Li5La3Nb2O12. The variation in the cubic lattice parameter was found to change with the size of the dopant ions, for example, substitution of larger In3+(rCN6: 0.79 Å) for smaller Nb5+ (rCN6: 0.64 Å) shows an increase in the lattice parameter from 12.8005(9) to 12.826(1) Å at 1000 °C. Samples prepared at higher temperatures (950, 1000 °C) show mainly bulk lithium ion conductivity in contrast to those synthesized at lower temperatures (900 °C). The activation energies for the ionic conductivities are comparable for all samples. Partial substitution of K+ for La3+ and In3+ for Nb5+ in Li5La3Nb2O12 exhibits slightly higher ionic conductivity than that of the parent compound over the investigated temperature regime 25-300 °C. Among the compounds investigated, the In-substituted Li5.5La3Nb1.75In0.25O12 exhibits the highest bulk lithium ion conductivity of 1.8×10−4 S/cm at 50 °C with an activation energy of 0.51 eV. The diffusivity (“component diffusion coefficient”) obtained from the AC conductivity and powder XRD data falls in the range 10−10-10−7 cm2/s over the temperature regime 50-200 °C, which is extraordinarily high and comparable with liquids. Substitution of Al, Co, and Ni for Nb in Li5La3Nb2O12 was found to be unsuccessful under the investigated conditions.  相似文献

Structural changes stimulated by ultraviolet (UV) laser irradiations of sol-gel derived inorganic oxide films were investigated. Dried gel films of TiO2, Nb2O5, Ta2O5, SrTiO3 and Pb(Zr x Ti1–x )O3 (PZT) were found to be crystallized by the laser irradiation. On the other hand, the photo-induced change in gel films of BaTiO3, LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 was not observed although the laser beams were absorbed in the films. These sol-gel films were thermally crystallized at almost the same temperature around 600–700°C except TiO2. Thus, the UV-laser-induced crystallization is not directly ascribed to a simple thermal effect with the irradiation. Photochemical properties of the cations are assumed to be important for the change in sol-gel films.  相似文献

Sub-micrometer Tb-doped Y2O3 luminescent powders were prepared from nitrate precursors using the polyol method. Just after precipitation, the powders consist of agglomerates with a spherical shape and a size ranging between 400 and 500 nm. Each agglomerate is composed of ultra-small crystallites (from 3 to 6 nm) of a bcc oxide phase whose luminescence presents original features in comparison with bulk materials. Powders were further calcinated at different temperatures and for annealing below 900 °C, highly crystalline samples with the classical green 5D47F5 luminescent transitions of Tb3+ ions are obtained. For optimized annealing temperatures, sintering between the agglomerates is avoided and a sub-micrometric powder with a narrow size distribution and a high luminescence is obtained.  相似文献

(Ba0.92,Ca0.08)(Ti0.92,Zr0.08)O3 thin films were prepared from Ba-Ti and Ca-Zr precursors by sol-gel processing. Polymerizable solutions containing Ba-Ti and Ca-Zr, respectively, were newly synthesized. Decomposition of the starting compounds and crystallization behavior of the film were examined by using TG/DTA and XRD. Microstructure of thin films was observed by using SEM. Polycrystalline (Ba0.92,Ca0.08)(Ti0.92, Zr0.08)O3 films obtained by firing at 800°C were dense with fine grains. The thin films showed a dielectric constant of 1200 and dielectric loss of 0.5%.  相似文献

Lithium manganese oxide (LiMn2O4) powder with spinel structure has been synthesized by a sol-gel method using an aqueous solution of metal nitrates containing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The role of PVA and the calcination conditions for the formation of LiMn2O4 have been studied. Homogeneity and reactivity of the precursor powder are enhanced with an increase in the amount of PVA in the starting solution. When the amount of PVA is low, an impurity phase-Mn2O3 is formed at low temperature. On the other hand, when the vinyl alcohol monomer unit of PVA to metal ion ratio is 2 : 1 in the starting solution, only spinel phase is formed at 180°C and organic-free LiMn2O4 powder is obtained at as low as 400°C. Nanosized LiMn2O4 particles with a narrow size distribution have been successfully prepared by this technique. This method with proper amount of PVA results in much lower calcination temperature and shorter calcination time for producing the single spinel phase in comparison with the conventional solid state reaction and other solution techniques.  相似文献

The sol-gel processing of lead-free (Na,K) NbO3 ferroelectric films was studied. Sodium ethoxide (NaOC2H5) and potassium ethoxide (KOC2H5) were prepared by reacting solid Na and K with ethanol (99.7%) in a solvent of 2-methoxyethanol. 0.5-μm-thick (Na,K)NbO3 thin films with orthorhombic perovskite structure were obtained by pyrolyzing at 400°C and annealing at 800–900°C. The films had relatively dense and uniform microstructure with grain size of about 50 nm, whose ferroelectricity was proved by the P-E hysteresis loop measurement. It was found that excess K was effective to reduce the annealing temperature for the crystallization of sol-gel-derived (Na,K)NbO3 thin films.  相似文献

Ag-TiO2 thin films were prepared with a sol-gel route, using titanium isopropoxide and silver nitrate as precursors, at 0.03 and 0.06 Ag/Ti nominal atomic ratios. After drying at 80°C, the films were fired at 300°C and 500°C for 30 min. The films were analysed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) with glancing angle, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), with depth profiling of the concentration. XPS analysis showed the presence of C and N as impurities in the nanocomposite films. Their concentration decreased with increasing the firing temperature. Chemical state analysis showed that Ag was present in metallic state, except for the very outer layer where it was present as Ag+. For the films prepared with a Ag/Ti concentration of 0.06, depth profiling measurements of the film fired at 300°C showed a strong Ag enrichment at the outer surface, while composition remained almost constant within the rest of the film, at 0.019. For the films heated to 500°C, two layers were found, where the Ag/Ti ratios were 0.015 near the surface and 0.026 near the substrate.  相似文献
