The specific heat C and the electronic and phononic thermal conductivities kappa(e) and kappa(ph) are calculated in the mixed state for magnetic fields H near H(c2), including the effects of supercurrent flow and Andreev scattering. The resulting function C(H) is nearly linear while kappa(e)(H) exhibits an upward curvature near H(c2). The slopes decrease with impurity scattering which improves the agreement with the data on MgB2. The ratio of phonon relaxation times tau(n)/tau(s)=g(omega(0),H) for phonon energy omega(0) is smeared out around omega(0)=2Delta and tends to one for increasing H. This leads to a rapid reduction of kappa(ph)(H) in MgB2 for relatively small fields due to the rapid suppression of the smaller energy gap.  相似文献

We measure the dispersion relation of capillary waves on a liquid surface by heterodyne x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy near the transition from propagating to overdamped dynamic behavior. A strong deviation of the propagation frequency from the small-damping result omega(p) proportional, variant k(3/2) is observed long before the actual transition where ( partial differential omega(p)/ partial differential k)<0 and omega(p) tends to zero. This behavior is successfully described by expressions derived within linear response theory.  相似文献

The scaling of the conductivity at the superfluid-insulator quantum phase transition in two dimensions is studied by numerical simulations of the Bose-Hubbard model. In contrast to previous studies, we focus on properties of this model in the experimentally relevant thermodynamic limit at finite temperature T. We find clear evidence for deviations from omega k scaling of the conductivity towards omega k/T scaling at low Matsubara frequencies omega k. By careful analytic continuation using Padé approximants we show that this behavior carries over to the real frequency axis where the conductivity scales with omega/T at small frequencies and low temperatures. We estimate the universal dc conductivity to be sigma* = 0.45(5)Q2/h, distinct from previous estimates in the T = 0, omega/T > 1 limit.  相似文献

Using the local density approximation and a realistic phonon spectrum we determine the momentum and frequency dependence of alpha(2)F(k,omega) in YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7) for the bonding, antibonding, and chain band. The resulting self-energy Sigma is rather small near the Fermi surface. For instance, for the antibonding band the maximum of ReSigma as a function of frequency is about 7 meV at the nodal point in the normal state and the ratio of bare and renormalized Fermi velocities is 1.18. These values are a factor of 3-5 too small compared to the experiment showing that only a small part of Sigma can be attributed to phonons. Furthermore, the frequency dependence of the renormalization factor Z(k,omega) is smooth and has no anomalies at the observed kink frequencies which means that phonons cannot produce well-pronounced kinks in stoichiometric YBa(2)Cu()3)O(7), at least, within the local density approximation.  相似文献

We study the behavior of two archetypal quantum spin glasses at T = 0 by exact diagonalization techniques: the random Ising model in a transverse field and the random Heisenberg model. The behavior of the dynamical spin response is obtained in the spin-glass ordered phase. In both models it is gapless and has the general form chi(")(omega) = qdelta(omega)+chi(")(reg)(omega), with chi(")(reg)(omega) approximately omega for the Ising and chi(")(reg)(omega) approximately const for the Heisenberg, at low frequencies. The method provides new insight to the physical nature of the low-lying excitations.  相似文献

Based on a correlated, or enhanced, unsymmetrized self-consistent field method, the authors study the properties of models of the vicinal surfaces of anharmonic crystals — the {, + 1} surfaces of a square lattice with nearest-neighbor interaction. Calculations are made of lattice relaxation near the surface, the effective amplitudes of atomic vibrations, and their asymmetry. The free surface energy density is obtained as a function of temperature and surface area. Its dependence on is studied. The limiting process to the {11} singular surface is examined. We study the statistical properties of time distribution of seismicity in California by means of a new method of analysis, the diffusion entropy. We find that the distribution of time intervals between a large earthquake (the main shock of a given seismic sequence) and the next one does not obey Poisson statistics, as assumed by the current models. We prove that this distribution is an inverse power law with an exponent mu=2.06+/-0.01. We propose the long-range model, reproducing the main properties of the diffusion entropy and describing the seismic triggering mechanisms induced by large earthquakes.  相似文献

The Olami-Feder-Christensen model on the Barabasi-Albert type scale-free network is investigated in the context of statistical seismology. This simple model may be regarded as the interacting faults obeying power-law size distribution under two assumptions: (i) each node represents a distinct fault; (ii) the degree of a node is proportional to the fault size and the energy accumulated around it. Depending on the strength of an interaction, the toppling events exhibit temporal clustering as is ubiquitously observed for natural earthquakes. Defining a geometrical parameter that characterizes the heterogeneity of the energy stored in the nodes, we show that aftershocks are characterized as a process of regaining the heterogeneity that is lost by the main shock. The heterogeneity is not significantly altered during the loading process and foreshocks.  相似文献

The electron addition spectrum A+(k,omega) is obtained analytically for the one-dimensional (1D) supersymmetric t-J model with 1/r2 interaction. The result is obtained first for a small-sized system and its validity is checked against the numerical calculation. Then the general expression is found which is valid for arbitrary size of the system. The thermodynamic limit of A+(k,omega) has a simple analytic form with contributions from one spinon, one holon, and one antiholon-all of which obey fractional statistics. The upper edge of A+(k,omega) in the (k,omega) plane includes a delta-function peak which reduces to that of the single-electron band in the low-density limit.  相似文献

In the normal state of the high temperature superconductors Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) and La2(-x)Sr(x)CuO4, and in the related "stripe ordered" material, La(1.25)Nd(0.6)Sr(0.15)CuO4, there is sharp structure in the measured single hole spectral function, A<(k-->,omega), considered as a function of k--> at fixed small binding energy omega. At the same time, as a function of omega at fixed k--> on much of the putative Fermi surface, any structure in A<(k-->,omega), other than the Fermi cutoff, is very broad. This is characteristic of the situation in which there are no stable excitations with the quantum numbers of the electron, as is the case in the one-dimensional electron gas.  相似文献

A system of nonlocal electron transport equations for electrostatic perturbations in (omega,k) space in a high-Z plasma is derived from the Fokker-Planck equation for arbitrary relations between the time, space, and collisionality scales. The closed scheme for obtaining the longitudinal plasma susceptibility epsilon(omega,k) in the entire (omega,k) plane is proposed. Regions in the (omega,k) plane have been mapped for problems such as the relaxation of the local temperature enhancement with a time-dependent heat conductivity. The electron dielectric permittivity has been calculated over the entire range of parameters, including the transition region between Vlasov and Fokker-Planck equation solutions.  相似文献

We report an experimental study of the backscattering of a sound wave of frequency f by a surface vibrating harmonically at frequency F (F < f) and amplitude A in the regime where the Doppler effect overcomes bulk nonlinear effects. When the duration to of the analyzed time series of the scattered wave is small compared to the vibration period, the power spectrum of the backscattered wave is proportional to the probability density function of the scatterer velocity, which presents two peaks shifted from f by roughly 2fAomega/c (omega = 2piF). On the contrary, when t0 > F(-1), sidebands at frequencies f +/- nF (n integer) appear in the power spectrum, which are due to the phase modulation of the backscattered wave induced by its reflection on a moving boundary. We use the backscattered power spectrum to validate the phase modulation theory of the Doppler effect in the latter case for 2kA < 1 and 2kA approximately > 1 (k = 2pif/c, where c is the wave velocity) and we test the validity of an acoustic nonintrusive estimator of A as a function of power spectrum bandwidth and of A itself.  相似文献

We study the stability of network communication after removal of a fraction q=1-p of links under the assumption that communication is effective only if the shortest path between nodes i and j after removal is shorter than al(ij)(a> or =1) where l(ij) is the shortest path before removal. For a large class of networks, we find analytically and numerically a new percolation transition at p(c)=(kappa(0)-1)((1-a)/a), where kappa(0) [triple bond] / and k is the node degree. Above p(c), order N nodes can communicate within the limited path length al(ij), while below p(c), N(delta) (delta<1) nodes can communicate. We expect our results to influence network design, routing algorithms, and immunization strategies, where short paths are most relevant.  相似文献

Local fracture events (or labquakes) during compression of shale rocks have been studied by acoustic emission. They are assumed to simulate quakes induced by hydraulic fracturing (fracking) or other water injection activities. Results are compared with those obtained during compression of porous Vycor glass, which are known to display statistical features very similar to those characterising natural earthquakes. Our acoustic emission results show that labquake energies are power law distributed, which is consistent with recent statistical analysis of fracking-/water injection-induced quakes. The data confirm a Gutenberg–Richter behaviour with exponents larger than the exponents characterising the energy distribution of natural earthquakes. In contrast to natural earthquakes, labquakes in shales do not show time correlations, which indicates that the probability of aftershocks is smaller than in the natural scenario (e.g. during Californian earthquakes).  相似文献

Using a total of 2.74 x 10(7) decays of the psi(2S) collected with the CLEO-c detector, we present a study of chi(cJ)-->gammaV, where V=rho(0), omega, phi. The transitions chi(c1)-->gammarho(0 and chi(c1)-->gammaomega are observed with B(chi(c1)-->gammarho(0))=(2.43+/-0.19+/-0.22) x 10(-4) and B(chi(c1)-->gammaomega)=(8.3+/-1.5+/-1.2) x 10(-5). In the chi(c1)-->gammarho(0) transition, the final state meson is dominantly longitudinally polarized. Upper limits on the branching fractions of other chi(cJ) states to light vector mesons are presented.  相似文献

The analytical solution for the Kubo-Anderson oscillator with a fluctuating frequency omega for arbitrary distribution function p(omega) has been obtained. Electron-electron interactions give rise to the correction, deltasigma(int)(omega), to the ac magnetoconductivity, sigma(omega), of a clean 2D electron gas that is periodic in omega_(c)(-1), where omega_(c) is the cyclotron frequency. We study the low-energy behavior of QCD Green functions in the limit that the baryon chemical potential is much larger than the QCD scale parameter LambdaQCD. We show that there is a systematic low-energy expansion in powers of (omega/m)(1/3), where omega is the energy and m is the screening scale. This expansion is valid even if the effective quark-gluon coupling g is not small. The expansion is purely perturbative in the magnetic regime |k| > k0. If the external momenta and energies satisfy |k| approximately k0, planar, Abelian ladder diagrams involving the full quark propagator have to be resummed but the corresponding Dyson-Schwinger equations are closed.  相似文献
