The phase transitions and critical phenomena in the three-dimensional (3D) site-diluted q-state Potts models on a simple cubic lattice are explored. We systematically study the phase transitions of the models for q=3 and q=4 on the basis of Wolff high-effective algorithm by the Monte–Carlo (MC) method. The calculations are carried out for systems with periodic boundary conditions and spin concentrations p=1.00–0.65. It is shown that introducing of weak disorder (p∼0.95) into the system is sufficient to change the first order phase transition into a second order one for the 3D 3-state Potts model, while for the 3D 4-state Potts model, such a phase transformation occurs when introducing strong disorder (p∼0.65). Results for 3D pure 3-state and 4-state Potts models (p=1.00) agree with conclusions of mean field theory. The static critical exponents of the specific heat α, susceptibility γ, magnetization β, and the exponent of the correlation radius ν are calculated for the samples on the basis of finite-size scaling theory. 相似文献

Phase coherence and vortex order in a Josephson-junction array at irrational frustration are studied by extensive Monte Carlo simulations using the parallel-tempering method. A scaling analysis of the correlation length of phase variables in the full equilibrated system shows that the critical temperature vanishes with a power-law divergent correlation length and critical exponent nuph, in agreement with recent results from resistivity scaling analysis. A similar scaling analysis for vortex variables reveals a different critical exponent nuv, suggesting that there are two distinct correlation lengths associated with a decoupled zero-temperature phase transition. 相似文献

We study the superconductor to insulator transition at zero temperature in aJosephson-junction array model on a honeycomb lattice with f flux quantum perplaquette. The path integral representation of the model corresponds to a (2 + 1)-dimensional classical model, which isused to investigate the critical behavior by extensive Monte Carlo simulations on largesystem sizes. In contrast to the model on a square lattice, the transition is found to befirst order for f = 1 /3 and continuous for f = 1 / 2 but in a different universality class. The correlation-length critical exponent is estimated from finite-size scaling of vortexcorrelations. The estimated universal conductivity at the transition is approximately fourtimes its value for f =0. The results are compared with experimental observations on ultrathinsuperconducting films with a triangular lattice of nanoholes in a transverse magneticfield. 相似文献

We have proposed theoretically and studied numerically the existence of discrete breathers (intrinsic localized modes) in the dynamics of a two-dimensional Josephson-junction array biased by radio-frequency fields. The solutions are linearly stable in the framework of the Floquet theory and robust in the presence of thermal fluctuations. We have also discussed the conditions for realizing an experimental detection of these modes. 相似文献
